momentum isn't the opposite ofoverwhelm.
It's actually what happens whenyou build the right bridge
across it.
The energy that's making youfeel overwhelmed right now is
the exact same energy that cancreate unstoppable momentum in
your business.
Hi, I'm Cindy Gordon, thecreator of the Reality Check
Method, and a business coach foroverwhelmed Entrepreneurs.

(00:22):
This is a bonus episode of TheOverwhelmed Entrepreneur Podcast
and welcome to day four ofOverwhelm to Action Week.
We're talking about that crucialspace between I have too much to
do and actually doing any of it.
If you're stuck in overwhelm, paralysis, knowing where you
want your business to go, butfeeling like there's no bridge

(00:43):
to get there.
This episode is yourconstruction manual.
There's a moment everyoverwhelmed entrepreneur knows
intimately.
You can see where you want yourbusiness to go, but the path
from here to there feels likecrossing a canyon with no bridge
in sight.
You have the vision, you havethe drive, but everything feels
so overwhelming that you end upstuck in the planning phase

(01:07):
instead of the doing phase, here's what most business advice
gets wrong.
It treats momentum like a switchthat you can flip.
Just start somewhere, takemassive action, push through the
resistance.
But when you're genuinelyoverwhelmed, this advice feels
like being told to run amarathon when you can barely
stand up.
The problem isn't that you lackmotivation or drive.

(01:29):
You became overwhelmed becauseyou care deeply about your
business success, that caring, that ambition, that drive, those
are the exact ingredients.
Momentum is made from.
You don't need to findmotivation.
You need to redirect the energyyou already have.
Building your bridge fromoverwhelm to momentum starts
with understanding thatoverwhelm contains all the raw

(01:53):
materials for momentum.
They are just scattered andmisdirected.
This approach is woven into howI run my companies because it
transforms overwhelm from anobstacle into a launching pad.
The foundation of your bridge isreality, checking your urgency.
That overwhelming list of urgenttasks, most of it actually isn't

(02:15):
time sensitive.
When you reality check whatactually is urgent versus what
feels urgent, something magicalhappens.
You create a space to breathe, think and choose your next move
Strategically.
The first plank of your bridgeis what I call the smallest
viable action.
Momentum doesn't require bigdramatic gestures.

(02:36):
It requires continuity.
Your first plank isn't the mostimportant task on your list.
It's the task that will get youmoving from paralysis to action.
This might be sending an emailthat you've been avoiding making
one phone call.
Writing one paragraph ororganizing one folder.
The support structure isprogress over perfection.

(02:59):
Most overwhelmed entrepreneursthink that the bridge needs to
be perfect before they can crossit.
They want the complete plan, theperfect strategy, the ideal
timing, but momentum bridges arebuilt while walking on them.
Each small action gives youinformation about what to do
next.
So let me give you the practicalbridge building toolkit that

(03:21):
creates sustainable momentumfrom overwhelm.
You're gonna start with somereality check questions.
You ask yourself, what wouldhappen if this waited until
tomorrow?
Who is actually waiting for thisright now?
What's driving this urgency?
Is it facts or feelings?
Then use the bridge actionformula.

(03:42):
Your bridge action should meetthree criteria.
Can I complete this in 30minutes or less?
Does this move me towards mygoal even slightly?
Do I have everything I need tostart right now?
And once you've taken that firstaction, use the momentum
maintainer.
Ask yourself, what's thesmallest next step that I can

(04:03):
take tomorrow?
How can I connect today's actionto tomorrow's and what did I
learn that makes this nextaction clearer?
The key is understanding thatsustainable momentum isn't about
constant acceleration.
It's about consistent movementforward.
You don't need to leap acrossthe canyon.
You just need to build a bridgethat can support you taking one

(04:26):
step at a time.
Here's what overwhelmedentrepreneurs need to
understand.
You don't need to have it allfigured out to start building
your bridge to momentum.
The bridge between overwhelm andmomentum isn't built by doing
everything.
It's built by doing the rightnext thing consistently.
Over time when everything feelsurgent, reality, check what

(04:47):
actually is.
When nothing feels possible, identify what barely is.
When overwhelm tells you tostop, that's exactly when you
need to take your smallest, viable step forward.
You're not stuck because youlack capability or motivation.
You are stuck because you'retrying to leap across the canyon
instead of building a bridge, the energy that's overwhelming

(05:10):
you right now, that's the sameenergy that will fuel your
momentum once you redirect itstrategically.
This bridge building approach isexactly what I help
entrepreneurs develop through myreality check method, because
when you understand thatoverwhelm and momentum are two
sides of the same bridge, youstop seeing overwhelm as the
energy and start seeing it asthe raw material for progress.

(05:34):
You just need to start buildingthe bridge one plank at a time.
And remember, you've got this.
Thanks for spending these fewminutes with me today.
Remember, overwhelm isn'tpermanent.
It's simply your brain's way ofsaying pause and take a little
reality check.
