(00:00):
Hello and welcome to the peaceful place. I'm your host Melissa Field. This is a space I created
(00:06):
after the 2024 election for those of us who were feeling overwhelmed, hurt, scared, angry, scared on
behalf of people we love or on behalf of vulnerable communities. It was a space for us to gather together
and not dwell in disappointment, but to remember that together we are powerful. Our dreams are still
(00:32):
alive and there is still a beautiful, loving future waiting for us and it's going to happen
because we are powerful and we do still believe in it and we are going to keep moving towards it.
We don't come together because we have given up, but because we know it's still possible and we're still on our way
(00:55):
and we're going to get there together with strength, resilience, and the power of community.
I create these episodes for you individually, but also as a reminder that we're in this together.
You are listening to this with so many other people who believe in love, who believe in inclusivity,
(01:16):
who believe in progress and we gather in this space in order to renew our energy, renew our inner wellsprings,
to restore our peace so that we truly have the strength and the conviction to get to the other side of this,
not in a space of surviving, but thriving. We aren't just going to get through this. We are going to transform this.
(01:45):
We are going to focus on what it is we wanted and remember that our thoughts are powerful and what we focus on expands.
So when we come into the peaceful place, it's not a time where we just tune out what's happening and pretend it's not happening.
It's a time where we remember that our deepest power is in our spirit.
(02:05):
It's in our connection to the infinite divine love of the universe.
It's in our connection to the divine feminine, which is alive and well and being called in by each and every one of us,
calling in that energy of receptivity, connection, softness.
And we are remembering that there's power and softness in the same way that a wave can carve through rock
(02:31):
and that wave is so soft and yet it lovingly embraces that rock over and over until it is permanently transformed.
That is the power of our softness. We are not aggressive. We are not here to push and force,
but to truly tune into what it is that makes us powerful together.
(02:52):
Our energy, our love, our connection to the divine feminine,
our connection to this just infinite mystical universe that created us.
We are tapping into something higher, something that has a power beyond our thoughts, our minds, our bodies.
And we are calling in that power of love so that we, like the ocean wave transforming the rock,
(03:16):
can truly transform things in a way that is lasting and for the good of all.
We come together with integrity, with love, with purpose.
And today what we're going to do is we're just going to tune into ourselves and ask ourselves,
how am I? How am I feeling?
(03:39):
And this might be something that you haven't had a chance to do or maybe you've been putting off
because it makes you feel guilty because so many right now are stressed, scared, overwhelmed,
and the idea of asking yourself how am I might not feel right, but is absolutely important and essential
because I want to remind you that you cannot pour from an empty cup.
(04:03):
When you take a moment to check in with yourself, to renew your connection to your own divine essence,
you just call in so much powerful energy and you remind yourself that you are important,
you are an important part of this. And that might feel weird to think about because you might be
thinking about what you want to do for other people, how you want to help. But I want to remind you
(04:27):
that the very fact that you want to help and that you care about other people is what makes you important.
You are so important right now. Your desire to see a world that is loving and inclusive is important.
Your desire to be there for other people, it makes you so important. But if you aren't taking care of
(04:49):
yourself, you're going to burn out, you're going to crumble, you're going to feel overwhelmed.
And these things that we are intending to transform will start to feel really overwhelming and you
will start to feel like you can't, that you're powerless, but you are not powerless. And we are
all powerful and together we come together with the power of love. And love is so powerful. Love is
(05:15):
so powerful. So what I want you to do is first give yourself permission to check in with yourself
and to know that this is essential to this journey, that not only is it okay to check in with yourself,
but you need to. You need to check in with yourself to make sure that you get to the other side of
(05:36):
this again, not from a space of surviving, but thriving, because we get to decide what's our
ankle, what's our barometer, are we just going to try to get through this, or are we going to get
through this and say, you know what, I get to have a say in this. I get to have a say in this world
that I'm in, in this culture, in this community that we're collectively creating. And what I want
(05:58):
to say is, I'm not just going to survive this, I'm going to thrive in this and create spaces
that are safe and powerful for people like me, for people who need it. You get to have a say in
this and don't ever forget that. And your saying it might just be deciding to show up here and return
to your peace and not let this steal your peace. You get to decide, will you have inner peace?
(06:25):
You get to decide, do you get to continue to contribute your thoughts and your beliefs and
your intentions to this world? So if you can put one or both of your hands on your heart and ask
yourself, how am I doing?
How am I feeling?
(07:10):
What do I need in this moment and going forward?
And as you sit with this, you may feel your breath getting deeper or your breath getting longer.
(07:42):
You may just feel your breath slowing down as your nervous system has a chance to slow down.
And again, this is so important because you are important. You are recalibrating,
(08:08):
re-centering and returning to yourself because without you, there is no resistance. Without you,
there would be nothing putting out into the world this intention and this energy that says,
this isn't what I want. What I want is important. What I want is peace, love, unity, acceptance,
(08:30):
connection. What you want is so important because who you are and your intentions are so important
because without them, there is nothing challenging these ideas and these systems that we don't like.
And again, you get to have a say in it and you are so important on behalf of yourself and all of
(08:53):
those who you care about and remind yourself as often as you need to, I cannot pour from an empty cup.
So as you are sitting with yourself and just asking yourself, what do I need?
You may want to continue this after the episode ends and really continue to sit with this.
(09:15):
I want you to think of this as a marathon and not a sprint. And that's really what we're doing
today is renewing ourselves so that we aren't just energized for these first few weeks or the
first month, but so that we're energized and connected and empowered for the next four years
and getting more powerful every step of the way. We can do that. We get to decide how are we going
(09:43):
to feel? Are we going to feel and remember that we are smart, we are capable and we are powerful?
Yes, we are. I asked you, but I really felt that I needed to answer that with you because yeah,
that's exactly what's going to happen. We're going to remember that we are divine beings who get to
(10:04):
decide how we think, how we feel and how we operate in all of this and we are going to thrive, not
survive and come to the other side of this having transformed it in ways that are so
so powerful. People are going to talk about it for decades. We are going to transform this
(10:25):
and it begins with you. So remember, you are important and just continue to breathe deep and
remember, I am important. I am part of this. I am in this. And as we end this really restorative
self-love episode, I want to give you some options for ways you may want to continue to really
(10:47):
reconnect to yourself. The first is a meditation course I created that is 10 steps. And if you
have ever struggled with meditation, I guarantee you you will be meditating on the first day.
And the first meditation is only two minutes and it gets you meditating honestly with your first
breath. I created it not only to be easy, but to feel good. It's based on my years of experience
(11:12):
with meditation and in just self-care, self-love. And if you've also been struggling with meditation
because you've just been feeling overwhelmed and it's hard to calm your mind, it's hard to return
to yourself, this is also a great option for you. This course is included in tier three of my membership
and tier three includes all kinds of stuff for self-care, rewiring your mind, personal empowerment.
(11:38):
There's all these meditations and so you can get the meditation course on its own or join tier three
for just a month so that you can experience the meditation course. And then tier one is only five
dollars and it has over 250 powerful meditations and visualizations that are really going to help
(11:59):
you with this feeling of thriving and remembering that you get to choose your thoughts, you get to
choose your feelings. These are some of the most powerful meditations I have ever tried. I have
created them using all kinds of different influences so there's a lot of different styles in there.
You have not just things like gratitude and affirmations but quantum healing, visualization,
(12:22):
rewiring your mind. I use them myself every day and anytime I'm struggling with something or trying
to work something out, I make a meditation and add it to the membership so that it's just so full
of these powerful tools and resources. So those are the three things I want to share with you.
The meditation course that's going to be a really powerful act of self-care and at this time I want
(12:45):
you to remember self-care is an act of resistance. And then you can get that course through tier three
and then tier one has just all these meditations and if you are listening on apple iTunes there is
an option to upgrade your listening experience and you will get a handful of meditations that way
and it's a great way to just kind of support me and support this podcast. There's also a Patreon but
(13:10):
because the membership includes all of the meditations it is what I recommend going with
and again that's tier one and it's five dollars a month and then you can just check out my store.
There might just be something in there that's speaking to you right now for what you need so
I'm going to put links to all of that stuff in my episode notes. Thank you so much for joining me
(13:31):
today for this really powerful act of self-care and resistance. We're in this together. This is
The Peaceful Place. I'm your host Melissa Field and I'll see you again soon.
