Hello, and welcome to the Peaceful Place. I am your host, Melissa Field. This is a space

(00:08):
I created for anyone who was feeling or is feeling stressed and overwhelmed by what's
happening in our government, if you are in the United States or wherever you are, you
may just be feeling a lot of fear, a lot of uncertainty, a lot of overwhelm. And so I created

(00:31):
this space after the 2024 election, particularly for people who are progressive and are wanting to
see their dreams of love and inclusivity and a world that is positive and moving in the right
direction still alive. Those dreams are still alive, and we come together here in order to renew

(00:53):
our energy, to let go of that doubt and fear and to remember that our strength comes from deep within,
and it can never be taken away. You are still so strong and so capable, and not only that,
but you are not in this alone. You are connected to millions of other hearts and lights who are

(01:15):
still breathing and pulsing with a passion for love, inclusivity, progress. And so what we're
going to do today is some affirmations for any time you need to calm your nervous system,
when you just need to take a deep breath and re-center. And these affirmations are based on

(01:38):
a guided meditation I just made for my membership, and I wanted to share something with everyone who
is not in there or unable to join and who still needs this, who is still needing these calming,
affirming words that are here to help you remember who you really are. And as always,

(02:01):
we don't do this because we are tuning out and pretending that there aren't really overwhelming,
scary things happening. We do this because we are strong and we do this because we deserve peace.
And because when we rest and renew, we are able to stay strong and to keep moving towards what
it is we really want. So I want you to first of all just come into this moment, wherever you are,

be with your breath and feel the breath in your body. Feel how your body moves with each breath.
And as you put your awareness on your breath, notice if it changes at all.
Does it get longer? Does it get deeper? Is your breath changing as you really just bring your

(02:54):
loving awareness onto it? And really bring your focus onto this more and more.
Be here with this breath, allowing it to begin softening you.
With each breath, tension is releasing. Your breath is relaxing your stomach.

(03:28):
It's releasing anxiety there. Your breath is helping you to pull your shoulders back into
you. Just allow your chest to expand and kind of open up.
And you can either repeat these affirmations or just allow them to flow through you,

(03:52):
allowing yourself to receive them and just doing whatever feels the most peaceful,
the most supportive in this moment. Inhale, I am safe.
Exhale, I am free.

(04:19):
I trust myself completely.
I am powerful.
I am strong and capable.

(04:40):
I am loved and supported.
Inhale, I am allowed to set boundaries.
Exhale, my boundaries protect my peace.

(05:03):
I honor my own boundaries.
I am safe in this moment.
I do not have to brace for impact.

(05:36):
I cultivate self-respect.
I am perfect. Inhale, I choose myself.
Exhale, I honor my needs and my truth.

(05:59):
Inhale, I release the past.
Exhale, I step fully into my power.

(06:20):
I am healing with every breath.
I am open to peace and ease.
My nervous system is resting and resetting.

(06:51):
My mind and body are at peace.
Peace and ease are natural to me.

(07:14):
There is a divine presence taking care of me.
I trust in the love and support surrounding me.

(07:35):
I am connected to other powerful hearts.
Inhale, I am the creative director of my life.

(07:58):
Exhale, I am writing a story of peace and power for myself.

(08:19):
Inhale, I have rewritten the rules.
Exhale, everything is different and better now.

(08:41):
I want you to take one more deep breath and as you exhale make a sigh sound like this.
Ah, really take a deep breath and let go.

(09:02):
You are safe.
You are at peace.
You are allowed to feel this peace.
You are worthy of peace and ease.

(09:22):
Your nervous system is acclimating to this and learning that you are worthy of peace
and peace is here in this moment in this breath.

I really hope they helped you because I know how important this is right now and I recorded them
because I have been struggling with my own anxiety and my own fears and not just around
what's happening in the political spectrum in the government but in my own life.

This is one of the things that's really hard about what's happening is our own personal struggles
don't stop because something really big and overwhelming is happening in the world.
Just remind yourself that no matter what you feel, you are doing a great job.
If you continue to feel anxious or fearful, bring in some love and some kindness because

(10:32):
that's just a part of yourself that needs love right now that needs to be held.
There's nothing wrong with feeling afraid.
It's a natural reaction to what's happening and just return to these affirmations as much as you need.
Return to the knowing that you are not in this alone and that's why we come together on this podcast
because when we remember that we're in this together, we just feel so much strength,

so much power and community and connection.
