Greenwashing is a marketing trend that companies use to trick the consumer into thinking that their products meet specifications that a more conscientious consumer is looking for.
This is done with text and images that make the consumer believe that the product is somehow better for the environment and/or better for the health of the animal (humans included) eat or using it.
