Contrary to popular belief, aUFO isn't necessarily an alien

The term UFO was coined by theUnited States Air Force in 1953
to describe any airborne objectthat could not be identified by
the observer.
Now that we got that cleared up, let's embark on our

It all started back in June 1947, when a man named Kenneth
Arnold reported seeing nineobjects flying in a V-formation

over Washington state.
Arnold described the objects asmoving like a saucer if you
skip it across water, leading tothe popular term flying saucer.
Since then, thousands ofsightings have been reported
worldwide, sparking curiosityand fear alike.

Let's dive into some of themost notable UFO sightings in
history.
In 1952, a series of sightingsknown as the Washington Flap or

what they now refer to asUnidentified Aerial Phenomena,
or UAPs.
Furthermore, in 2021, theOffice of the Director of the

National Intelligence released apreliminary report on UAPs.
The report did not confirmextraterrestrial life, but it
did acknowledge 144 sightingsbetween 2004 and 2021 that could
not be easily explained.

While most scientists areskeptical of the idea that UFOs
are alien spacecraft, they agreethat this unexplained phenomena
