Welcome back to
another episode of the Putty

So yesterday I told you aboutproductivity and Marie's webinar
.
If you have not listened tothat, go back and listen to
yesterday's episode.
Get registered for Marie'swebinar so you do not miss it.
They start tomorrow, september14th, so let's put that on.
(00:21):
You know the to-do list rightaway if you haven't already done
it.
But the thing that I wanted totalk about today is getting
hyper-organized with my Asana.
So if you've been around herefor a while, you heard me talk
about I treat back to schoolkind of like a mini new year,
where it's like you're springcleaning and you're just tidying
(00:44):
things up in your business, whether it's cleaning out your
email, you know, getting yourGoogle Drive organized or
whatever that looks like for you.
One thing that I realized is Ineeded to clean up my Asana so
that I can be prepared whenother people start coming into
my Asana and you know I havemultiple people working for me
(01:07):
and then all of a sudden, it'slike, oh, we're confused, like
all this stuff doesn't makesense.
So I'm trying to clean housebefore I invite people in, and
one of the things that I've beendoing is going back and
archiving old projects that Idon't need anymore.
Now notice, I said archivingand not deleting, so this has
(01:28):
been the magic tool for me,especially recently.
So I know that I told you about.
You know, my email inbox hack.
Maybe I did.
I get confused on what Iactually share on here versus
what, like it was just in aconversation.
I'm like, oh, I know I had thethought, oh, I need to share
that on the potty report.
So let me break it down realfast.
I watched a YouTube video froma guy that used to work at
(01:50):
Google and he showed how heorganizes his inbox game changer
.
So he has three labels awaitingresponse to read and follow up.
Those are it.
This is what I changed mine to,and as soon as I read an email,
I will label it one of thosethings or I will archive it.
So, immediately I have gotteninto this, like, oh, I'm going
(02:12):
to archive everything that Idon't need.
Like, we are clean in house.
If we don't need it anymore, itis gone, it is just, but it's
getting archived, I'm notdeleting it forever, it's not
going away.
And so this is what I starteddoing recently with Asana.
I was like you know what, I'mgoing to clean it all up and
there were so many things that Ihave seen where it was like
(02:33):
kind of like creating a bunch ofGoogle docs and then you don't
really file them away wherethey're supposed to go and maybe
you don't label them properly.
Is this just me?
Please tell me, I'm not alone.
Please tell me, other people dothis too.
You get a ton of ideas and thenyou're just like oh, you know,
this is a great idea.
Let me jot it down.
It's the equivalent of mehaving a ton of notebooks, which
(02:54):
I did for years and years andyears.
I still do this, not as much, but just having like a bunch of
random notes here and there.
This is what I do with Googledocs now.
I just create a bunch of Googledocs and they're like
everywhere, and then I'll goback to it a few months and I'm
like what is this crap Like?
What was I even talking about?
I don't even know what this is.
So I have also done that withAsana projects, where I get an
(03:17):
idea, I get inspired and I'mlike let me just brand up
everything that has to do withthis.
There are whole courses plannedin Asana, there are mastermind
ideas, there are emailnewsletter ideas.
There's all kinds of stuff andI was like I don't need all of
this, it's distracting.
I need to have everything verysleek, very well organized, so
(03:37):
that whenever I go in there I'mlike, oh, this is such an
inviting environment, I feelgood about coming in here, it's
clean, but also I want to havepeople come in here and know
exactly where things are.
It's not a hot mess and it'svery easy to navigate, because
I'm looking at growing andscaling and that is a piece of
(03:58):
the puzzle that I want to makesure is very ironclad, figured
out and not something thatsomeone else has to come in and
clean up my mess.
So all of this today has been aPSA for you.
If you have not cleaned outyour inbox in a while, if your
Google Drive is a mess and youhave a ton of projects or a ton
of things in your projectmanagement system, it's just
sitting there and it's buggingyou and it's driving you crazy
(04:20):
that it's not cleaned up.
Clean it up, clean it up andthen after noon take an hour
like schedule some time.
Schedule 15 minutes a day.
15 minutes a day can get you sofar if it's unsubscribing from
newsletters or archiving oldstuff.
But start doing it and make ithappen and you will feel so much
better in the long run.
(04:40):
But that's all I have for youtoday.
So, as always, remember, keepit fresh, keep it fun and just
keep going.
