Welcome back to another episode of the Putty
Report.
So it felt right and I actuallyhad someone suggest to me.
They were like, okay, this isyour last week of doing this
podcast, you have to go back tothe very beginning.
And in case you don't know thisabout this podcast specifically

(00:23):
, I never went back.
I've actually never listened toany of the episodes of this
podcast because, if you remember, I started this show and I
already had over a hundredepisodes of the Prophet podcast,
so I wasn't brand new to it.
I was already in a rhythm ofediting and for this show I

(00:47):
actually do know editingwhatsoever.
If you've been listening for awhile, you know that but I never
went back.
I've never gone back andlistened to the very first
episode.
So I just did it right beforeI'm recording this and, oh my
gosh, the mic pops.
That was it for being reallyhonest.

(01:07):
It was so distracting.
I heard all the plosives whereI'm like speaking right into the
microphone and, if I'mremembering correctly, I think I
still had my Blue Yeti mic whenI first started this podcast.
So I was using my Blue Yeti.
I may or may not have had, likeyou know, like I can't even

(01:28):
think of what they're calledlike, like the mic covers.
I don't even know that.
I had one on there.
It was obnoxious, obnoxious, the sound quality was terrible,
all the things I sounded like Ireally wasn't sure what I was
talking about.
And it was so funny because inreal time, like I finished that
episode and I said, keep it up,we all have to start somewhere.

(01:50):
And if you go and listen to theending, I came back and I'm like
, oh my God, I felt like I wasjust cheating on my podcast
because I said this othertagline.
So I came up with the other oneon the spot.
And it's funny becauselistening to it, I was like, oh
my gosh, I did do that.
I didn't overthink it.
I didn't say, oh, I need to goback and you know, give me
another week and I'll find theperfect tech line.

(02:11):
No, I just said you know what?
I can't say this other one.
So what am I going to sayinstead?
And I literally just said thenext thing that popped into my
head.
And here we are, over threeyears later, and it's still how
I was ending every single one ofthese episodes.
So there's so many lessonslearned for not overthinking

(02:32):
something and just gettingstarted Like just dive in, jump
into what's going on and justmake it happen and don't
overthink it, because you'lllikely talk yourself out of it
or you'll just decide to go in adifferent direction, or you'll
procrastinate your life away, and I can't stress to you enough

(02:54):
that you have more importantthings to do than think about.
Well, what is the tagline goingto be?
Just pick something, picksomething.
Go with your gut.
When I hear that people aresaying oh, I've been thinking
about this for months, for years, like doing the thing, I'm like
just throw something out there.
People will tell you if theylove it, people will tell you if
they hate it, and you willquickly learn that that is the

(03:16):
thing that you shouldn't havedone, if that's the thing you
shouldn't have done.
But you have to get started.
It's why I say you got to startsomewhere and with this, keep
it fresh, keep it fun and justkeep going.
You got to just put somethingout there.
So, if you have beenoverthinking whatever it is in
your life today, put somethingout there.
I don't know what that lookslike for you.

(03:37):
Is it Instagram story?
You need to show your face oncamera.
Is it starting your YouTubechannel?
Is it creating your next leadmagnet that you've been nervous
to put out?
Is it sharing things onLinkedIn?
And you still have your nine tofive job, but you're so nervous
that it's going to rock theboat at work.
Put it out there.
Put it out there.

(03:57):
Just stop sitting around andoverthinking things and get into
action.
Get into action, make it happen.
So that is all I have for youtoday.
I will say I'm listening backto that episode.
I got chills the whole time Iwas listening to it and thinking
, oh my gosh, I can't believethat this journey is coming to

(04:18):
an end for now, but I'm sograteful to that version of me
back in 2020 that started.
I'm so grateful for that personthat just jumped in, ripped off
the mandate and started thispodcast, because it has been
truly magical for me and I'm sograteful for it.
But that's all I have for youtoday.

(04:39):
So, as always, remember, keepit fresh, keep it fun and just
keep going.
