Speaker 0 (00:00):
Welcome back to
another episode of the Putty
Report.
So if you're listening to thisin real time when it airs, then
the episode that I just releasedon the Profit podcast will have
come out.
So it's all about the seven keythings to consider whenever
you're trying to get better atproject and time management or
(00:23):
just being overall moreproductive.
So the last two episodes havereally been aligned and we
talked about a week in the lifeof a productive podcaster on the
Profit podcast and then now I'msharing the key things to think
about when you're thinkingabout project and time
management, and I wanted tobring it up again here today
(00:46):
because it's something that iscontinuously top of mind for me
and it is a skill that I have topractice Like this isn't
something that comes natural tome.
So here's a little peek intowho I was as a child.
I am the youngest of two olderbrothers, so I'm the only girl.
(01:07):
You know two older brothers.
They were messy, they weresloppy and I, because I was the
only girl, I didn't have toshare a room.
The boys had to share a room.
I got my own room.
So I was spoiled from the verybeginning, but I remember going
into their bedrooms and theywould just have crap just
everywhere clothes and bowls ofcereal bowls Like they were just
(01:30):
disgusting.
They're disgusting boys, and Isay this and I'm knowing that I
have a teenager and a tween thatare probably going to
eventually be there too.
It makes me cringe a little bitto think about.
Oh, my goodness, I'm not readyfor that.
But when I think about theorganization like I didn't
really have a lot oforganization.
I wasn't necessarily a dirtychild, like I didn't have like
(01:51):
dirty stuff, like dishes and allI didn't have, that there
wasn't food in my room on aregular basis, but I was the kid
, okay, that shoved all of mystuff.
Like my parents would say, youbetter go clean your room, I
would open my closet and shoveeverything into my closet floor,
(02:11):
like so much so that I wasafraid that the door was going
to come off the hinge because Iwould have to like ram my body
up against it to get it to shut.
When my parents were like, okay, we're coming in, like a minute
, you better have everythingcleaned up, I'm like, oh crap,
they just grab everything, sortof like it was like a bulldozer
and, just like you know, push itin the closet and push my body
(02:35):
up against the door and shove itI mean dirty clothes, papers,
all the things.
So I say all that, I'm outingmyself as someone who has not
been organized or highlyproductive or good with time
management.
None of that.
It was all a skill.
All of it is a skill that youhave to learn, and if you are
(02:55):
someone who is like gosh, I wantto get better at this Like this
, is where I really struggle.
This is where I wish I couldjust be consistent.
I wish that I could show upwith confidence, knowing this is
the exact thing that I need todo and this should be the
priority.
If this is you, then I'm goingto keep encouraging you to check
out Marie Forleo's time geniusprogram, because she's going to
(03:20):
lay out all the things.
If you haven't heard Marie'sstory, go watch her story.
She has a story on her YouTubechannel where she talks about
how 2020 was a really tough yearfor her.
It was a tough year for a lot ofpeople, but the way that she
tells her story, it's like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
When I first heard her story, Ifell a heart on Instagram and
(03:42):
she was talking about having allthese tumors removed and having
to have, like an emergencyhysterectomy.
Like, if you don't know herstory, you need to go listen to
it, because that story and hergoing through these things
really birthed this program thatshe created so that she's not
constantly reactive to things.
I think it's so inspiring and Iwant everybody to go check out
(04:05):
her program.

Like I said, if you have notwatched her story, go to her
YouTube channel and find it,because it is absolutely
incredible.

that is crushing things and onlyfocusing on what's most
