What would you do if you had to say goodbye to a beloved part of your life to make way for new opportunities? As we pause at the crossroads of change, we draw parallels with the iconic TV show Friends and the poignant farewell between Monica and Rachel. Just as they embraced the "end of an era," this episode of the Poddy Report marks a similar end, but not without revisiting our journey since its inception in 2020.

Today, I'm taking you through how the Poddy Report came to life during the peak of the pandemic, evolving into a creative outlet and a platform that brought us all closer. As tough as it was to decide, after evaluating my content creation goals for Proffitt Media, it was clear that it was time to let go.

But, while we approach the final week of the Poddy Report, with the last episode due next Friday, let's relish the remaining days and keep the spirit intact. Reminisce the past episodes that will always be here for you to revisit. Tune in, keep it fresh, fun, and just keep going.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome back to another episode of the Potty
Report.
Have you seen the show, friends?
I'm assuming?
I mean, of course, you knowwhat I'm talking about, but you
know the show.
But this specific episode thatI wanted to bring up today is
the one where Monica andChandler decide to live together

(00:25):
and Rachel has a really hardtime with it right and she
doesn't think it's gonna happen.
And then they sort of end up inthis embrace where it finally
sets in that the two are partingways.
Rachel and Monica are no longergonna live together anymore and
they both just start sayingit's the end of an era.

(00:48):
It's the end of an era, andthat's what this episode is
today.
It's the end of an era for thePotty Report, and I just
recorded an episode of theProfit Podcast before this and I

(01:09):
was like no, I have to tell myPotty Report listeners before it
comes out on the Profit Podcastand this is really hard.
This is a lot harder than whatI was expecting.
So I created this show in 2020,the height of the pandemic and
I was like you know what I need?
Something that is different.

(01:30):
It's a creative thing that Ijust wanna do.
People ask me about DailyPodcast and I wanted to have an
answer for them.
So I started this and thenlaunched it at the end of March
2020.
And here we are September 2023.
Like, we've been doing this forover three years, but I was
doing some evaluation of all thecontent that I'm creating, all

(01:52):
of my goals and what I'm reallytrying to achieve with Profit
Media, and the Potty Report wasthe clear thing that I needed to
let go of, which really sucks, because I know that this
audience, like I know, when youlisten, like you either listen

(02:12):
to all five episodes in a row, like back, like you just binge
listen it's like 25 minute bingeon catching up with me.
What's going on or you listento it every day, every Monday,
you're like, oh, I'm gonna tunein see what Crystal's up to.
So I so appreciate the factthat you've been hanging around
here for the last three years.

(02:32):
Or maybe you're new to the showand you've only been listening
for a short time, but I am gonnabe shutting it down.
So this is the end of an era.
None of the episodes are goingaway.
They'll still live here, but Idon't know that, like I can't
say like it's gonna be forever.
It could just be a period oftime, but it's the end of a

(02:53):
quarter right now and you'veheard me, if you've been
listening to the show, you knowI plan in quarters of the year,
and September is the end of aquarter and I thought you know
what.
This is the perfect time.
I was on the beach and I toldthis story a little bit on the
Profit Podcast, but we went toPort Aransas with the family
over Labor Day weekend and Ijust had this gut feeling that

(03:15):
something needed to change in mybusiness.
I didn't have time for some ofthe things that I wanted to
pursue, and when I thought ofwhat can I not do anymore?
What can I take off of my plate, this was the thing that kept
coming back.
It's the thing that I end updoing on the weekends, when I
wish I wasn't doing it on theweekends.
It's the thing that, becauseit's five episodes, I don't just

(03:36):
upload one thing.
I have to upload five thingsand I have to wait for things to
process and I have to come upwith titles and descriptions,
and it's just something that Ineed to let go of.
So today is not the last episode.
You will still be getting moreepisodes, but I wanted you to be
prepared that next week, nextFriday, will be the last episode
for now of the Potty Report.

(03:57):
So there we go, here we are,and I'm so grateful that you've
been hanging out with me for thelast while and I promise you
I'm gonna keep deliveringawesome value over the next few
days as we finish out the PottyReport.
But again, thank you so muchfor hanging out with me and, as

(04:21):
always, remember, keep it fresh, keep it fun and just keep going
.
