Whose Family Owned Slaves & Who Owes?

Allow me to be clear about the title of today's edition. To answer the question posed in the title, ALL of America owes for the fact that the American Government was complicit in slavery, whether someone's family owned slaves or not.

That said, on an individualistic level, I want to highlight prominent public figures who can directly attribute both their social and financial success to the wealth and status slavery afforded their predecessors.

That begs the question, where would George Bush, a Ben Affleck, or a Joe Biden be had there never been slavery? But, those are the people everyone knows about. If we started looking into the backgrounds of some of those prominent white folks living on the "good" side of town, I wonder what we'd find there, too? 🤔
