Write your best life. Each week, poetry professor Stephen Cavitt reads an original poem and discusses its key technique, helping poetry lovers read between the lines. This season: poems from his book Noctis Terrores. Stephen Cavitt, MFA, teaches creative writing at Florida Gulf Coast University. He has lived in a tipi, studied with shamans, fed wild bears, walked on fire, and climbed New Mexico's highest mountain in skinny jeans. The lead sniper for a SWAT team taught him to shoot. Tom Brown Jr. taught him to track. His mother taught him to sing. Stephen is the author of Noctis Terrores and The Und Wars series in science fiction, which begins with The Distance Between Stars.
