Addiction continues to be a serious national crisis that affects not only public health, but also social and economic welfare. Addiction is a family disease, meaning that the person who is using drugs and/or alcohol is not the only person impacted; the family is impacted too. Family support is crucial for those facing addiction, and very often this support and direction comes via an Intervention.
Today’s guest is Marc Kantor. Marc is a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) who founded South Florida Intervention. With years of both personal and professional experience, Marc helps individuals and their families recover from addiction and other mental illnesses.
Marc grew up on Long Island and had a successful career in Real Estate before making the decision to address his own addiction at the Betty Ford Center. After relocating to Boca Raton with his wife and their teenage daughter, he started South Florida Intervention, which offers a full continuum of recovery services for individuals who want to recover from addiction.
Want to know more about interventions? Check out today’s episode and the resources below. Marc also wrote a book that will give parents an in-depth understanding of how to do an intervention!

Intentionally Disturbing
Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
