When a new hope debuted in 1977, the impressive laser swords known as lightsabers came in two colors: blue and red. Their meanings seemed clear. If your sci fi sword was blue, you are a good guy, and if red, your intentions were clearly nefarious. But wait, in Return of the Jedi, Luke uses a green lightsaber. So, anything but red is good, right? Purple, Yellow, White, Black... all seemed to be for good guys, though that black one is complicated. But then Ahsoka brought us... orange? Seriously?
