PorterNotes Podcast - Jim Miller
Season Four, Episode 7 of the PorterNotes Podcast includes an interview with Jim Miller of The Jimare Wellness Counseling Center. Alex and Jim talk about addiction, alcoholism and counseling people who have been directed to receive an assessment as a result of a DUI conviction. Additionally, the conversation includes discussion of human nature, the affects of childhood environment and trauma on the developed adult and Death Counseling.
Jim and his wife, Magdelina have spent their entire lives helping people achieve their most important goals and highest aspirations. For the last fifteen years, they have focused on issues related to the use of alcohol and/or other drugs. In 2014, seeing the need for a more conveniently located program to serve those mandated by court to complete substance abuse services, they opened Jimare Wellness Counseling Center in Cicero. They have served hundreds of men and women of all ages since then.
During Alex's youth in Chicago, Jim served as head priest at St. Sylvester's Parish, which is where Alex attended grade school. A nice walk down memory lane and some very interesting insight as well in this conversation.
