In this episode I am speaking about contempt. I am sure you see evidence of it like I do when you look around the world and the way we are all interacting with one another in 2025.
What you might not be aware of is that the way we treat one another stems from our subconscious programming and that we can actually change that if we are inspired.
I share with you what I have learned about contempt in intimate relationships from author and therapist Terrence Real who wrote the book US. I also share with you what I have learned from Tim Shriver who founded an organization called UNITE that created the Dignity Index, which measures how we treat one another with contempt when we disagree.
At the end of the day, our relationships and how we show up to everybody in the world means everything. I hope you take time to listen to this episode because the quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage
Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
