Speaker 1 (00:02):
on this episode of the Powerspoint Podcast.
Hey, where is everybody?
Scott, jim, wow, I guess it'sjust me.
Well, even though you're nothere.
Hey, scott, hit that beat.

(00:26):
No backup crew, no script inhand, just keeping a plan.

(00:54):
What kind of unplanned.
He's ripping on life, weirdnews and more, keeping the show
from hitting the floor Midnight.
Mike, he's taking flight, talking to the void in the pale
moonlight.
No Scott, no Jim, but he's gotthat spark Podcasting alone like
a voice in the dark.

(01:34):
Go, go, hello, and welcome toanother episode of the Powers
Point Podcast.
I'm Keith Mackey, co-host to theco-host, or assistant to the
assistant.
However you want to look at it,I'm not the normal voice you

(01:59):
would hear hosting this show.
Normally, our general, mr ScottPowers, would be hosting this
show, but he is actually tied upat the moment and has been for
a few weeks, as you all knowmyself, our other co-hosts, jb
and Scott.
We are all family men and weall have a lot of
responsibilities with ourfamilies, and lately Scott's
been, I guess, a little extrabusy, you know.

(02:22):
I mean I suppose JB and myselfyou know me have our busy
moments too.
Scott's having one right now.
We all have them and uh, that'scool.
So we're going to keep on andI'm going to give you a kind of
like a little mini episode hereto uh sort of tide you over.
So, sean Mo Armand, we love youguys, keep listening.
This one's for you and, uh,hopefully this keeps you

(02:42):
entertained until we come backwith our normal episodes.
I know we have an interviewcoming up and a few more
episodes.
We have our basketballtournament, our celebrity
basketball tournament, which ispretty interesting and that
should be a fun one.
We have our teams picked and wehave other folks out who have
also picked some teams.
Our good friend Gavin from theMajors Mess Hall podcast also

(03:06):
has a team in the competitionand it's going to be fun to see
how that one ends up shaking out.
We also have some of our normal, more topical episodes coming
up here pretty soon.
I should say JB has some goodideas.
I come up with some good ideasas a result of one of our guests
canceling on us and we was kindof left without topics.

(03:26):
So I kind of sat and listenedto one of our previous episodes
and wrote down a list of topicsand said, hey, guys, this isn't
going to happen to us again.
So we definitely got a few ofthose to get to, provided we get
to them.
And if we don't, you know whatI mean.
Well, you know, things happen, things change and we're very
open to change around here.
You know our motto.

(03:46):
You know we don't talk aboutpolitics, we don't talk about
religion, and we try and giveyou a laugh or two, but no more
than three, because that wouldbe overkill.
And, uh, anymore.
You owe us snacks and, as Isaid before, I really like
snacks and, uh, I believe ourother co-hosts like snacks too,
but I don't know.
I think I might just be alittle more vocal about it.
And, of course, if you have anycomments or questions or

(04:06):
possibly even show topic ideasor anything like that, feel free
to hit us up atpowerspointpodcast at yahoocom,
I believe it is, and you can geta hold of Scott on Facebook I
think it's underpowerspointpodcast also, or
maybe it's just powerspointpodat Facebook and it's also
powers31911 three, one, nine, one one at Instagram and

(04:27):
possibly at Tik TOK too.
Uh, but JB is on Facebook, butI don't know if I think that's
just as private Facebook.
And I'm myself I'm no longer amon social media, so I am 100%
exclusive to the powers pointpodcast.
So this is going to be the onlyplace you're going to find me,
which I'm actually very coolwith.
I've noticed a drop, I guess, inmaybe a little bit of anxiety.

(04:49):
Not that I had a huge, you knowwas dealing with a huge bout of
it because of social media, butit seemed like just the kind of
habit that when I would noticeI would just kind of check the
shit first thing in the morningand since I stopped doing that,
I don't know, it feels maybe alittle bit better because of
that and it didn't reallycorrelate too much with me being

(05:10):
on the podcast.
Anyway, it was more to do withfrom when I was making the
wrestlers on the video game andI feel like that's run its
course with that thing and itwas fun and it had its moments
and all that.
But I feel like you know howmany times must I do what I did
to have did what I've done?
And you can say that in a MickJagger-like voice and it'll

(05:33):
sound pretty funny, you know.
But you know I've met someawesome people through there,
like my good buddy, dennisGuggen, who makes Funko Pops and
is just an overall really coolguy, really good guy and
obviously one of my best friends, bobby Bouhey, from Canada, and
, of course you know, our leaderof this podcast here is Scott

(05:53):
Powers.
I met him through the socialmedia.
You know what I mean.
So it was like our former guest, natalie Batari, said.
You know what I mean.
You manifest these things, youknow, sometimes, and it ended up
working out in a good way andthat's good.
At this point, at least for alittle while, you know.
I mean, figure out, you know ifI want to do some other shit,
but I really don't see it in thenear future.

(06:16):
In the near future, you willfind me here on the powers point
podcast with my two goodbuddies, because for me, that's
my chill time at the end of theweek, and I believe it is for
scott and jb also.
I, if I can speak for both ofthem because, uh, you know, we,
like I said, we family lives.
We have very hectic lives andschedules.
You know what I mean.

(06:36):
Some of us are more busy thanothers at times and that's just
the way it goes, and you know.
So when I actually get the timeto sit down with these two
gentlemen, it's very importantto me.
You know what I mean.
It's a good decompress.
You know, it's just a coolthing.
It's like hanging with the boys, that's something you know.
Once a week I feel like every Iguess you know guy, especially

(07:01):
the people around our age, whenwe get to the, you know, the
middle ages.
If you combine the three of ourages, we're over 150 years old.
So, um, you know, it's good forfor us to get that kind of
interaction with, with our peers, whereas we wouldn't
necessarily get it as much as wewould have in our, uh, twenties
or maybe our earlier days ormaybe you know when you would go

(07:21):
out and be around a lot morepeople than that.
And I hope our listeners, thatyou guys, get the same kind of
vibe from us.
You know, I don't really knowhow much we appeal to like
younger audience, but I assume,uh, our listeners are some of
the little bit more older, moremature folks like us who want to
hear us kind of have our littleinteraction.
Which I believe is the strongestaspect and attraction of our

(07:44):
show is the vibe and thechemistry, if you will, the
symbiom, excuse me, the symbiontism, the symbiotic relationship
that exists between myself, scott and Jim, which I like to
call radical, sensible and Scott, myself being the radical, our
other co-host, jb, being thesensible one.
Of course we can both have ourradical and sensible moments,

(08:08):
but you know, and Scott beingthe one, that kind of that we
orbit around, you know what Imean.
That brings this whole thingtogether and I'm glad that he
does that for us so we can allget to listen to it.
You know what I mean.
It's fun shit, and we get togive our opinions, and you know,
especially mine.
I usually come off with someoff-color stuff that I, you know
.
It's usually in a sense to tryand be nice to a person, but not

(08:31):
necessarily always.
I've had some critical momentsof a few people and I apologize
for that if, uh, anyone's beenoffended.
You know what I mean.
I, I doubt anyone I've saidanything critical about was
actually listening, but younever know, you know, I mean
adam cole could easily be a bigfan on the show, you never know.
If so, hey, buddy, baby, I'mwith you.
Buddy, I'm sorry, I called youa good employee.

(08:52):
Another thing we like to do onthe show is we like to give
random facts, and that'snormally JB and Scott's category
.
They.
Let me just kind of react tothem.
But one thing that I discoveredrecently that I found was
really interesting is my wifeand I were watching Cirque du
Soleil.
My wife is a huge fan of Cirquedu Soleil, has been for a while

(09:14):
, and there's a lot of extremelytalented folks involved with
that show, especially theperformers themselves.
And we were watching and I was,you know, kind of thinking of
something that I had said to oneof our guests.
I said well, you know, howevermuch money you make, as long as
you're involved in the process,it's got to be better than just
punching the clock.

(09:34):
You know what I mean nine tofive.
You know what I mean.
I imagine whatever paycheck yougot from your craft has to be
better, you know, at least alittle bit sweeter than maybe
you know somebody would get justfrom their job.
But I mean, I suppose money ismoney.
But I assumed, I guess, thatbecause they're performers and
because they're, you know, touring performers, and a lot of

(09:59):
times international touringperformers, that they had to be
making a pretty good paycheck, you know.
And so I actually took the timeto do the research, like our
other co-hosts would do, and Ilooked up how much they made and
I was actually quite surprisedto see that the average Cirque
du Soleil performers makes whattends to be the equivalent of
like $18 an hour.
Yeah, so you know anybody withregular, you know, office job

(10:23):
that makes a little more.
You're a little higher up inthe company.
I guess you're making more thanthe Cirque du Soleil performers
.
But again, they're doing whatthey do, you know, out of their
passion and getting a paycheckfor it.
I guess it's better than doingnothing.
And if you are willing to dosomething for free and you get a
paycheck for it, then that thenyou deserve every cent of it
and it's got to be somethingnice and something sweet.

(10:44):
And, uh, I appreciate the work, you know, I appreciate the
performance and I'm sure youknow I can speak for our
listeners and our co-hosts aswell.
But I definitely figured theywould be making a little more
money.
I mean, good Lord, I mean,considering that that's
something that you know.
You can't just step in and youcan't just fill out an
application for Cirque du Soleil.
You have to be a highly tuned,well-performed athlete, you know

(11:08):
, and very good at these wild, crazy stunts and things that are
very dangerous, you know.
So I mean, I guess hazard paydoesn't apply when it comes to
Cirque du Soleil Sorry guys, that really sucks.
What also seems to be ahazardous occupation anymore is
if you're working in the musicindustry and I tend to like to

(11:32):
talk about music on here a lot Idefinitely like to point out
that I've watched the KillingJoke documentary countless
amount of times now.
In fact, jim suggested that Imay have clinched the Guinness
Book World Record on the amountof times.
Now, in fact, uh, jim suggestedthat I may have clinched the
guinness book world record onthe amount of times watching
that, and if that is the record,I do believe I hold it.
And uh, that was in our uhpowers point text chain, which I
think is funny enough that, uh,we should maybe put out a

(11:56):
couple, select uh portions fromthat, because it's it's just as
good as the podcast, if notfunnier.
And um, we definitely, you knowwe definitely bust some jokes
there, the same as we do here.
But, um, as always, you know, Ialways like to uh talk about
what I'm into, you know,musically.
And um, obviously I'm excitedabout the oasis reunion coming

(12:17):
up and the scissor Sisters Areback together.
You know, that was another kindof a Plus from the social media
Was one of the musicaldirectors From Letterkenny that
actually recommended the ScissorSisters, not directly to me but
in it, you know, we ended upTalking about it.
So you know who gives a shit, but they're a great band and

(12:42):
it'd be a good one to check out.
And another one would be a bandcalled Mr Good Night is one I'm
really into G-O-O-D-N-I-T-E.
They have a singer.
There's a guy named TylerParkford who's actually the main
guy for this band.
He's in another band called theMany Mansions with Michael
Schumann who plays bass inQueens of the Stone Age.
But they sound nothing likeQueens of the Stone Age and they
sound nothing like Killing Joke, that's for sure.
They got kind of like a 60s,real melodic, you know, kind of

(13:08):
very easy on the ears, very easylistening.
And, if you like just goodmusic, that are good songs and
really well written, with a verywry sense of wit, you know, and
very clever hooks and thingslike that, I believe that would
be a good one to get into.
So, moe and and Sean, if youguys, you know you guys like to
listen to the stuff that is MrGoodnight, g-o-o-d.

(13:29):
I'm sorry, yeah,g-o-o-d-n-i-t-e.
Yeah, they're a good one.
Another segment that we like todo on here we call Grinds my
Gears, and that's when we comeon and tell you something that's
been getting on our nerveslately or, you know, just kind
of maybe pushing the buttons.
And I gotta admit, what grindsmy gears lately is the fact that
I guess our lives have been alittle too busy where we haven't

(13:55):
gotten a clear path to do whatwe do, you know, and that kind
of grinds my gears a little bit.
That's nobody's fault, that'sjust the way life happens.
So, but it doesn't mean that itisn't annoying and I know Scott
and Jim feel the same way, because we want to keep this
train a-rolling all night long.
You know what I mean and that'show we want to do things around

(14:15):
here.
I believe I speak for Scott andJim when I say that we do not
take a single set of ears forgranted and we appreciate all of
you giving us your time to uh,take the time to listen to our
show, you know to, to hear usjoke around with each other, and
you know I mean try and catch avibe with us, catch a groove if
you will.
That's what we like to do.
We know time is precious and,uh, if you choose to spend it

(14:37):
with us.
You know what I mean.
We, we appreciate the out of it.
You know what I mean.
We appreciate the work out ofit.
You know what I mean, and weappreciate the work out of all
of you that take the time and welove it.
And with that, I'm going to dowhat our co-host, jb, normally
does and leave you with a quote.
And I'm going to do somethingspecial and I'm going to
actually leave you with a quotefrom JB, that something he said
to me a while ago, or not to mea while ago to me a while ago,
or not to me a while ago.

(14:58):
He said it actually on the show, but he says I don't believe in
nothing, man, I'm always downfor change.
And with that I thank you forlistening.
I'm Keith Mackey and for ScottPowers and Jim Banks, thank you
very much and we'll see you soonwhen we do our celebrity
basketball tournament.
Until then, be safe, everyone, take care.

(15:19):
Goodbye, thank you.
