On today's episode, A true Delaware County great, the Poz5, is honored to have a conversation with a former Kansas City Chief by way of Ridley High School,
Joe Valerio.
Valerio's football career at Ridley High School laid the foundation for his future sports success—a former NFL offensive lineman. Born in Swarthmore, PA, Valerio attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a standout player and earned First-Team All-Ivy League honors in 1989 and 1990. Valerio was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft and played for the team from 1992 to 1995. Valerio, in a rare feat as an offensive lineman, caught four touchdown passes during his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs. Making him a standout for his versatility and creativity in goal-line situations under coach Marty Schottenheimer.
