The magnetic pull of being in rooms with inspiring people can transform your creative journey. After recording in Nathan Barry's podcast studio in Boise during Craft and Commerce, I reflected on how proximity to motivated creators fuels success.

This year's Kit event highlighted how connections formed at conferences evolve into impactful relationships for your business. Whether it was receiving a warm hug from author Jay Papasan or witnessing creators make significant strides, these moments reinforce the value of investing in community.

While attending conferences can be a financial commitment, the relationships you build, the insights you gain, and the motivation you feel make it worthwhile. If you're hesitant about stepping into an uncomfortable situation, consider this your sign to take the leap.

As we celebrate seven years of The Proffitt Podcast, I'm thrilled to introduce our rebranded Consistent Creators Club, designed to help content creators stay consistent. Join us for free at krystalproffitt.com/join and see how the right community can transform your creative journey. What room will you step into next that might change everything?

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Wow, like that is the power of real connection and
being just in the sphere ofpeople that are motivated and
trying to do incredible things, even if they don't have
everything figured out, even ifthey're still in early stages of
their journey.
Welcome to the Profit Podcast, where we teach you how to start,

(00:22):
launch and market your contentwith confidence.
I'm your host, crystal Profit, and I'm so excited that you're
here.
Thanks for hanging out with metoday, because if you've been
trying to figure out the worldof content creation, this is the
show that will help be yourtime-saving shortcut.
So let's get right to it, shallwe?
So I'm actually recording superearly in my home studio today,

(00:49):
but I wanted to share what itwas like to record in Nathan
Berry's studio in Boise, idaho.
So, yes, there is kit studios, which we have a whole video
series on walking through, whatthose look like and what you can
expect if you go and record inperson in Boise, idaho, for the

(01:10):
KITT incredible studios there.
But this year, whenever I wentto Craft and Commerce this is
KITT's annual event I actuallygot to record in Nathan Berry's
studio, which was really funbecause he's had so many
incredible guests and he'srecently been doing the Nathan
Berry show where he's doing allthese different coaching

(01:33):
opportunities and speaking tothese successful creators.
So make sure you go check outthe Nathan Berry show.
But yeah, here's my behind thescenes exclusive look into
Nathan Berry's podcast studioand I actually recorded some
insightful wisdom, if you wantto call it that, while I was at

(01:54):
Craft Commerce and it's just areflection on what I've thought
about going to this conferencefor the last three years and I'm
actually going in 2026.
So make sure you grab yourticket.
But I shared like in real timewhat this conference, what this
event, means to me and, yeah, gocheck it out.
Okay, just because I thought itwould be super fun to record

(02:21):
where the stars record.
Right, like Nathan, I'm justcalling you the stars, the stars
record in the studio.
I just want to record somethingreal quick and short and just
talk about craft and commercereal fast, because I'm here like
we're on the second full day ofall the keynotes and the
workshops and my big takeawaythis year has just been about

(02:43):
connections and the differentthings that we find that can be
so powerful in getting intorooms.
That's what I'll say.
Getting into the rooms I havebeen in the last few days like
it's just mind-blowing.
The people that I've met, theadvice that I've been given,

(03:03):
like.
I mean, last year I was hereand I saw that Jay Papasan was
going to be here and you know Iwas like, oh my gosh, he's my
favorite author, like the bookthe One Thing.
I've recommended it more thanany other book in the last 10
years.
And to meet him last year, toknow him, to later hop on a call
with him outside of that inn toget a big hug from Jay, when I

(03:28):
first saw him I was like, wow, that is the power of real
connection and being just in thesphere of people that are
motivated and trying to doincredible things, even if they
don't have everything figuredout, even if they're still in
early stages of their journey.
Jay's not that example.
Right, jay has already built asuccessful career and a

(03:51):
profession.
But there's other creators thatare here that I'm meeting that I
mean.
Six months ago their lifelooked different, their journey
looked different, and then herethey are today and they're
making this huge impact.
Or six years ago they were justgetting started.
And now to look at all thedifferent levels of success that
they've had in whatever versionof success looks like for them.
So this is my quick tips onencouragement and just really

(04:16):
motivating you, hopefully, toget into those rooms, go to
those conferences, y'all.
It's not super cheap to comehere, like it was, you know, a
great investment in the ticketto get me here, to pay for the
plane ride, to pay for the hotel, and it's a significant,
significant impact on mybusiness Every single time I

(04:38):
leave here because of theconnections that I make, because
of the motivation, theencouragement, the inspiration
that I get once I leave thisconference.
And I'm just telling you, ifyou're thinking about stepping
into a room that makes you feela little uncomfortable, do it
anyway, because you never knowwhat kind of relationships
you'll form or the impact thatit could have on your life and

(05:00):
your business.
So I just wanted to add a littlebit more, since this is the
podcast fam right behind thescenes, and I really, truly
enjoyed being in the space thatI was in.
I mean, if it's not apparentfrom the different takeaways
that I've shared about going tocraft and commerce and what this

(05:22):
event means to me, but evenstill, I mean I'm recording this
weeks later and I have comehome from the event, but this
year something was definitelydifferent to where the impact
feels longer lasting in thegroup mindset.
Now, what do I mean by that?

(05:44):
I mean that it's not just mesitting over here at Profit
Media and looking at mytakeaways and looking at notes
and seeing what can I implement, what can I change.
It's no.
I'm actually on LinkedIn a lotrecently, engaging with a lot of
these folks, like I just hadthree people that never in my
wildest dreams would I thinkthat they would follow me on

(06:06):
LinkedIn, like they just startedfollowing me and like
commenting on things that I'mdoing.
So one, this is your like, thisis your sign to get on LinkedIn
, because it is the hot platformthis year that I've been
showing up and seeing a lot ofreally cool things happening.
But the other piece is how canyou go and participate in your

(06:28):
industry events and then keepthat lasting impression or that
lasting connection, thenetworking, all of that, going
way beyond just going to anevent and checking things out
and meeting people, like I said, taking notes, going in the
breakout sessions, takingscreenshots and pictures of all

(06:51):
the things that are happening orgetting selfies with people.
How can you take that andactually make it meaningful and
make it have a lastingimpression on your journey.
So I knew that this episode wasgoing to be super short today,
so I wanted to add a little bitmore context to the video that
we created, because it wasreally fun.

(07:11):
Make sure you go check it outon YouTube to see what I did in
the studio, because thedifferent studios are just so
fun, but it was really cool tobe in Nathan's studio.
Specifically, I have anotherinterview where we recorded in
Nathan's studio, which wasreally fun.
So that's upcoming.
So, joe Casabana, if you heardhim last year year before, I

(07:35):
can't remember when he was onthe show but, man, we had an
incredible conversation.
Especially for those of you ifyou're a solopreneur and you're
a parent, you know he brings thegoods.
He brought so many incrediblejust tips and tricks and
perspectives.
We have a very similarperspective on a lot of things

(07:57):
and we have a very differentperspective on a lot of things.
So it was cool to explore thatand just really get deep into a
conversation and, of course, nerd out on just being in a
really cool podcast studio.
But that's all I have for youtoday.
I know it's probably theshortest episode we've had in a
really long time, but I thinkthat this was super impactful,

(08:18):
super meaningful.
I hope that you are enjoyingyour summer wherever you are
located Unless you're inAustralia or another part of the
world where it's actually fallor winter for you, then I hope
that you're enjoying whatevertime it is for you, but I am so
grateful that you are here.
I feel like we haven't had anopportunity to just come

(08:39):
together and say, man, I reallyappreciate this audience so much
.
I appreciate everything thatyou do as far as contribute and
keep showing up and keeplistening every single week.
I mean, oh my gosh, y'all weare here.
I launched the Profit Podcastin 2018.
It was actually June 2018.

(09:01):

powerful and so special and Ijust thank you so much for being
here and, yeah, that's all Igot for you, but make sure you
