Aliya Cheyanne (00:00):
Do you know what it means to be a wise creative?
Hey y'all, welcome back to theshow.
I'm your host, aaliyah Cheyenne, and today I want to talk about
what it means to be a wisecreative.
This is a solo episode and anaudio-only experience, and I'm

(00:20):
so grateful that you're here Now.
Let's get into it.
And I'm so grateful that you'rehere Now, let's get into it.
Being a wise creative is notjust about being a productive
creative not just ahigh-performing one, but a wise
one, because wisdom real wisdomshows up when we learn to honor

(00:43):
our rhythm, when we trust ourtiming, when we create from
alignment, not anxiety.
So I want to share sixreflections that have helped me
to show up more wisely in my owncreative life.
I'm going to use thesereflections to also connect them
to past episodes, in case youwant to keep the conversation
going and to dig in a littledeeper.

(01:04):
Let's kick it off with thefirst one, honoring your seasons
.
Just like nature, I've come toaccept that I don't bloom year
round, and neither does nature.
There are times when I'm onfire with ideas and flow,
writing, recording, sharing, connecting, and other times when

(01:28):
I just need stillness, silence,rest.
Being a wise creative meanstuning into that cycle, asking
myself am I in a planting season, a blooming one, or am I just
lying low for a bit, lettingsomething deeper grow underneath

(01:52):
the surface?
Rest Without Guilt, why DoingNothing Might Be your Most
Productive Choice, where Iexplore the power of letting
ourselves be exactly where weare, without shame or rush.

(02:13):
I even discuss honoring ourseasons like nature, on episode
83, the Revolutionary Power ofFloriculture, featuring Black
Flower Market founder HimariNorman.
Power of Floriculture featuringBlack Flower Market founder
Himari Norman.
My second reflection honoringyour energy cycle.
Now, this one is so important.

(02:34):
This is all about body wisdom,so let's talk about it Now.
For those of us who experience aperiod cycle, our energy and
creativity shifts throughout themonth.
For me personally, and I knowfor many of us, some weeks I'm
bursting with social energy andjust ready to take on the world,
and other weeks I need thecomplete opposite.

(02:58):
Sometimes my body demandsprivacy and space to go inward.
I've learned to honor the ebbsand flow of my cycle and to
create with my cycle, notagainst it, and honestly, this
has saved me from burnout moretimes than I can count.
I also love utilizing toolslike human design and beyond to

(03:20):
better understand and harnessthe power of my personal energy
to do my best work.
Check out episode 40, unlockingPotential with Personality
Tests, and episode 48, achievingSpiritual Balance and Success,
featuring Fabi Cordero, where Ispeak to the sacred rhythm

(03:40):
between our bodies and our work.
On to reflection three knowingwhen to pause and pivot.
There's so much power inknowing when to stop, when to
change your mind, when to letsomething go, not because it

(04:01):
failed, but because it no longerfits who you're becoming, fits
who you're becoming.
I used to think pausing wasunacceptable.
Now I see it as an act ofcourage, as an act of honoring
myself and my needs and mycreativity.
Wisdom is knowing that yourpurpose can evolve, and so can

(04:23):
you.
You'll feel this in episode 75.
Your purpose isn't fixed.
It's okay when your pathchanges.
Or, episode 78, your old dreamsno longer fit who you're
becoming.
Or maybe in episode 60,allowing your purpose to evolve,
how to embrace change withGrace.

(04:45):
And especially in episode 53,overcoming Adversity and
Redefining Success the Power ofReinvention, featuring Shannara
Pierce.
If you've been questioning apath or even just craving
something new, this is yourpermission slip to pivot.

(05:05):
My fourth reflection is allabout honoring your personal
mission and aligning withopportunities.
I used to say yes to everythingevery project, every
opportunity, every ask, everyouting, even if it pulled me
away from my deeper mission.
Fomo used to get me all thetime and sis still be getting me

(05:28):
but I'm doing better at sayingno, because wisdom whispers.
Not everything is for you.
Being a wise creative meansgetting so rooted in your
purpose that you startrecognizing what's truly aligned
and gently turning away fromwhat's not.

(05:50):
If this resonates, definitelyrevisit episode 79, cultivating
Purpose Through PodcastingReflections on Creativity,
community and Connection.
Or episode 58, the Power of anAnchoring Force the power of an
anchoring force finding strengthin unshakable conviction.

(06:11):
And episode 63, how torecognize when you're out of
alignment key signs and how torealign your life.
Y'all, we're not here to do allthe things, just the right ones

(06:33):
.
My fifth reflection on being awise creative is all about
learning your skills and talentsand discovering your zone of
genius.
Wisdom means really knowingyourself.
I mean really knowing yourself, what you're good at, what
lights you up, what you could doin your sleep.
That still somehow feelsmagical every time.
That's your zone of genius andwe all have one.

(06:55):
You don't have to be good ateverything.
You don't need to monetizeevery hobby.
I know we live in a time periodwhere it's like every side
thing, every hobby, everyinterest, we have to turn it
into content.
We have to find a way tomonetize it.
But I want you to sit in thefeeling and in the knowing of

(07:19):
honoring the gifts that come toyou naturally and trusting that
there's a place for them.
In episode 40, unlockingPotential with Personality Tests
and Self-Development.
In episode 42, astrology andBusiness how to Use Astrology
for Success.
I talk about this dance betweenself-awareness, self-trust and

(07:40):
innate power.
Now, before we close this out,we absolutely have to get to
reflection number six, which isprobably my favorite one, which
is embracing creativity as aspiritual practice.
Whatever your beliefs are, whenwe are expressing our own

(08:11):
creativity, that is the rawestform of our connection to and
with the divine.
Being a wise, creative meansremembering that your creativity
is sacred.
It's not just a skill, it's aspiritual act.
We are all born with inherent, boundless creative energy.
Whether you call that God,spirit source or something else

(08:35):
entirely, we are co-creatorswith the creator.
Every time we write, we paint,we dance, we sing, we build or
even dream, we are participatingin that divine current.
I talked about this in episode52, timeless Wisdom for Modern
Creatives, a conversation withVanessa Aldrich, where we

(08:57):
explored the ways creativity andspirituality intertwine, and
also in episode 31, sensuality, spirituality and Creativity,
featuring LaVon Briggs, where wehonored the body as a sacred
vessel for inspiration anddivine connection.
This reflection is a reminderthat your creativity is not just

(09:18):
for profit, or for productivityor performance.
It's a way to commune with yourhigher self, a way to listen
deeply, a way to commune withyour higher self, a way to
listen deeply, a way to heal andsometimes a way to pray.
So whether you're lighting acandle before you journal,

(09:39):
meditating before you write orsimply letting inspiration hit
you while you're washing thedishes, know that every moment
of creation is sacred.
You are aligned with somethinggreater.
You are a wise, powerful,spirit-led creative, and there's

(10:00):
nothing more beautiful or morepowerful than that.
So if you're listening to thisepisode and you're still
wondering what being a wisecreative looks like for you, or
what it feels like, maybe startby asking yourself some
important questions.
What season am I in right now?

(10:22):
What is my body asking of me?
What is no longer aligned?
What is my body asking of me?
What is no longer aligned?
What is my creative mission.
What are my natural gifts andam I honoring them?
You don't have to have all ofthe answers today.
You just have to be willing tolisten to the wisdom within, and

(10:46):
I trust you to do that foryourself.
And on that note, I'm alsohonoring the season that I'm in.
I don't have a huge podcast.
This is an independent show andit's a small but growing show
and community.
Sometimes that can makesecuring guests tough and I'm

(11:09):
working on my inspiration formore solo episodes.
I'm so incredibly grateful forthe amazing people with much
bigger platforms than mine whohave taken a chance to be in
conversation with me on thisshow.
I often center what I'd love tohear and what I think my
audience would love to know fromguests, and I do my best to

(11:30):
make the show feel like a safeand sacred space to go deep, and
I'm so grateful for everyonewho's gone there with me as I
keep working to have new guestson the show and coming up with
solo episodes that I feel arevaluable to you.
I'm honoring the season thatthe show is in and I'm planning

(11:51):
to take a brief pause in thevery near future.
All of the back-end things forthe podcast are a lot to handle
solo and I'm not in a positionto outsource anything for the
podcast at this stage, so I haveto honor my energy when it
comes to producing this show.
This is a huge risk.
Every time I do it, every timeI take a break because listeners

(12:14):
don't always come back, but Itrust that the folks who find
value in the show will continueto follow it and that you will
join me again on the other sideof the break.
In the meantime and in betweentime, stay tuned for a few more
brand new episodes droppingbi-weekly in the next couple of
months, and be sure to keep upwith me over on Substack at the

that you never miss a newepisode.
And if you're new here or ifyou've been here for a long time
but you've missed some episodes, binge the catalog, friend.

(12:58):
There's so much incredible andrich conversation and content
that I know you'll find value inDozens of episodes to listen to
, ones maybe you haven't heardbefore or maybe ones you want to
revisit in a new season of yourlife.
They're all there and availablefor you.

(13:18):
My mental wealth tip of theweek is to trust that you are a
wise, creative.
Trust your inner knowing, trustyour gut, listen to your body
and honor the season that you'rein.
Thank you for being here with me.

(13:39):
If this episode spoke to yourspirit, share it with someone
who might need it too.
