you haven't already, be sure torate and review the show and

April is National MinorityHealth Month, so before we jump
into today's topic, I want toshare a quick wellness tip that
(00:31):
aligns with the episode and thatis advocate for your health.
Just as purpose evolves, sodoes our health.
This is your friendly reminderto schedule those checkups and
speak up about medical concerns.
Be proactive in doctor'sappointments, not passive.
Ask questions, seek secondopinions and ensure your
(00:53):
concerns are heard.
So what do you do when yourpurpose feels unclear?
How can you move forward whenyou're unsure about what's next?
Trust me, I know firsthand thefrustration of feeling
directionless.
Sometimes it feels like we'vegot it all figured out and we
know exactly what lies ahead, and then maybe things change
(01:14):
personally.
And then maybe things changepersonally or professionally,
and it throws everything offcourse.
Sometimes we can feel so sureand so clear and so committed
about what our purpose is andthen, as we get deeper and
deeper in the weeds, perhapsthings change.
Perhaps we learn new thingsabout ourselves and what we
(01:36):
thought was our purpose, perhapsthings become more unclear, but
I wanna hone in on that wordunclear, because purpose isn't
always clear, and that's okay.
Now we've talked about this onthe show in the past.
Sometimes our purpose evolves, sometimes our purpose Now.
(01:57):
We've talked about this on theshow in the past, that sometimes
our purpose evolves, sometimesthings change, sometimes our
dreams change, and it's crucialthat we always remember that
your purpose is always unfolding, it is always evolving.
It's not fixed, although thisisn't true for everyone.
(02:19):
The beauty of this day and ageis that we are living longer
than some of our foremothers andforefathers.
We have whole lives ahead of usmany of us to pivot, to change,
to evolve, to redirect, toreinvent ourselves as many times
(02:39):
as we want to.
Once upon a time, you had toaccomplish everything you were
ever going to accomplishaccomplish, probably around the
age of 30.
Today, we're looking ahead toour 70s, our 80s, our 90s and
our 100s.
This gives us space to grow, evolve and adapt.
This gives us opportunity forour vision to change.
(03:03):
This allows us theexpansiveness to change our
minds when certain things aren'tworking anymore or when we feel
like exploring something new.
Now, at the time of thisrecording, I've spent most of my
professional life in thenon-profit sector.
For a long time, I was socertain that that is exactly
(03:25):
what my purpose was, and nothingmore.
Stay focused, stay the course.
Create and implement programsto support vulnerable
populations, project manage andadministrate funding resources
to support the needs of peoplefrom various life circumstances,
(03:45):
develop comprehensivecommunication strategies for
policy, for community events, for social media campaigns and
beyond.
Now, those are a lot of thingsand those are important things,
but those aren't the only thingsI was meant to do.
Those aren't the only thingsthat I'm here to complete Today.
(04:07):
My purpose has evolved intoother things.
My purpose has evolved into mycreativity, using my voice,
using the power of my tongue tojump on this podcast and speak
to all of you.
My purpose has also evolved tousing the power of my pen and my
writing to share a message withother women who may need to
(04:29):
hear it.
My purpose has evolved toconsulting with different
organizations and supportingvarious and supporting
visionaries, and supportingvisionaries in various
capacities to help bring theirideas to life in sustainable
ways.
Who knows what my purpose willbe a year from now, five years
(04:51):
from now, five years from now,10 years from now and beyond, if
I'm blessed to live that long.
I also know that, spiritually,my purpose is deeply tied to
becoming an exceptional, powerful and an amazing Ancestor
Sunday, but that that won't bepossible until I complete my
(05:13):
work here on earth.
Part of my purpose is allowingmyself to be used in the healthy
ways that make sense to furthermy own mission and to support
the advancement of our societyin whatever ways that I can
contribute.
Purpose is expanding, purposeis ever-evolving, purpose is
(05:36):
ever-changing and it's okay tobe completely clear on what that
is for you in this season andknow that if it changes or if it
shifts in the future, you'vedone nothing wrong.
No, you haven't failed.
You've adapted, you've grown,you've learned something new,
you've pivoted and you'veanswered the call of your season
(05:58):
.
For any of us who are unsureabout what our purpose is and
just not clear, I invite you togo inward, to sit still, to
really think about what lightsyou up.
Think about the things thatimportant people and meaningful
people in your life have toldyou you excel at, that, you're
(06:21):
excellent at, that you're goodat.
Think about what tools andmodalities you might be able to
use to your advantage to learnmore about your gifts, your
skills and what energy you canharness in this lifetime to
support your mission and yourpurpose.
(06:41):
Look for clear signs ofconfirmation about what you are
meant to do and, if all elsefails, action creates clarity.
Try new things that lead you toanswers.
Try sitting quietly in natureand really listening to yourself
and allowing the answers tocome to you.
Try a guided meditation ifthat's your vibe.
(07:04):
Try free or prompted journalingto help you to look inward and
lead you to the answers that youseek.
There are countless ways tobecome more clear and more
aligned in what your purpose isand what exactly you're meant to
do on earth and in thislifetime.
You are valuable, you areimportant and your unique vision
(07:28):
can only be executed andfulfilled by you.
So trust that if you have theidea, if you have the vision, if
you feel called that it isuniquely designed for you.
I encourage you to try onesmall new thing this week to
explore your purpose, and besure to try out this week's
