Speaker 1 (00:00):
How much information
should a client expect in a good
psychic reading?
How much is too much or notenough?
I'm Corbie Mitleid and this isthe Psychic Yellow Brick Road.
The world is changing and lifedoesn't have the spark it used
to.
So we look around and ask wheredo I need to go to catch the
(00:22):
magic again?
You've found it.
Welcome to the Psychic YellowBrick Road, a weekly podcast
that delves into the intuitiveworld, metaphysics, life purpose
and how to connect with thecompassion of spirituality.
I'm Corbie Mitleid and I'vebeen on the Psychic Yellow Brick
Road for 50 years.
I'm a Certified Tarot Master, past life specialist, psychic
(00:43):
medium, channel, and author and, most importantly, I'm an Elder
in the field, ready to pass oneverything I've discovered to
you.
So let's hit that PsychicYellow Brick Road where you can
find the real wizards and avoidthe flying monkeys.
Can a reading be too vague ortoo specific?
(01:05):
You know, we readers always tryto hit the sweet spot for our
clients Enough information tomove ahead with, but not so much
that they think they can't getout of bed without specific
instructions from their friendlylocal psychic.
I got two questions recentlythat worked both sides of the
Yellow Brick Road.
The first one was from Gail.
She asked when a reader statesthat they'll deliver detailed
(01:30):
answers.
What does that mean?
I asked several questionsrecently and paid for a detailed
reading, and each answer wasabout five to ten short
sentences in length.
I guess I expected a bit more.
The answers were so vague ingeneral.
For example, when I asked whichpast life is affecting me the
most in this life, she said Ifeel that in your last life you
(01:51):
did not complete what you wantedto.
In this life you are stillworking on this.
In your opinion, is thisdetailed?
I understand that the answersto life aren't usually handed
out, that we need to discoverthings for ourselves, but if a
reading offers nothing that'shelpful, is there a better way
to phrase questions or seekqualified psychics?
Secondly, I had a dream lastnight that could have been a
(02:14):
past life experience and it wastraumatic.
The dream could answer a lot ofquestions I have about myself
and why I fear intimacy.
Is it possible for a reader tohome in on a specific past life,
sort of a way to validate thatmy dream really was a past life
experience?
Okay, there are severalquestions to unpack here.
(02:34):
First, what constitutes adetailed reading?
Second, how do you make sureyou're getting a good one.
And third, can a psychic helpyou understand a dream and tell
you if it's a past life?
All right, let's go right tothe past life situation, since
that seems to be the mostpressing for Gail.
A past life, even if onlydescribed in a few sentences,
(02:56):
should give a client a definitefeel for character or
personality, a time period,maybe a country, and a little
bit about why this is importantto recall during this
incarnation.
Here are some examples theconstant conflict with your
sister in this lifetime stemsfrom a life when the two of you
were brothers and she stole yourinheritance during the
(03:17):
Franco-Prussian War.
This soul has come in as yourbest friend in many lives past,
but chose to incarnate as yourfather this time to give you
extra support.
He has ongoing karma with yourmother stemming from a life with
her in 17th century Tibet.
You have died or been killedseveral times because you chose
to have children out of wedlock, including during the most
(03:39):
recent previous life in Chicagoduring the 1940s.
That's why this time, you choseto focus on a life without
children of any kind.
You see, when you, as a client, sit with me and ask for a
session about past lives, I'lloften give you a whole scenario,
but past lives are my specialtyand I'm not sure that my level
(04:00):
of detail is a common thing.
Can a psychic pick up on a dreamand identify it as a past life?
It's happened, in fact.
One of my favorite clientstories is about a past life
reading I did that described alife during the Civil War.
In that life, my client hadbeen heavily involved in the
Underground Railroad.
The scene I unfolded for herduring trance was the same dream
(04:23):
she'd been having for years, right down to what the building
looked like and the dress shewas wearing at the time, and she
hadn't said a word about it tome before the reading.
Does this happen all the time?
I wish it did, but it happensfor me often enough that I know
it's truly possible and not justan occasional fluke.
Meanwhile, if you have aspecific past life you're
(04:47):
interested in try giving thepsychic just a couple of
relevant details, something likeI keep seeing myself in France
or I'm running away from twohighwaymen and see if what they
have to tell you matches up orat least correlates well with
the information you've beengiven through Dreamtime.
As for the detail situation, Ican only say that I'm all about
(05:09):
giving details, because myclient is the one who needs to
make decisions about her life, not me.
So I wouldn't count thisreading if that's all it was as
detail.
To be fair, though, part of theproblem may have been that it
was a written reading, frankly,if you're not actually with me
in the reading, I preferrecording the session to send
you, because when I speakinformation flows better and you
(05:33):
get more of it, because itdoesn't have to process from the
brain to the hand, to thekeyboard, to the computer page.
Now let's look at the twospecific situations.
George wrote to me and said Ihad a reading a few weeks ago.
The psychic was incrediblyspecific.
She told me the woman I wasgoing to marry was a Gemini with
light hair and dark eyes.
(05:53):
Her name started with an L.
She is not in the country, butshe will be by June when I meet
her.
Her family comes from a lawbackground.
She likes to travel and writethat I shouldn't rush things and
there will be someone jealousof the relationship.
I've talked to some people thatknow a lot on the subject and
they've said that was way toospecific, that she was just
trying to give me false hopewhen I needed it.
Now I have doubts.
(06:15):
Could she be this accurate,George?
I couldn't really say whetheror not the reader here was too
specific for you.
I wasn't there and I make it apoint not to diss other psychics
.
Frankly, however, I shy awayfrom those kinds of predictions.
Let me explain why.
The woman may come into theclient's life exactly as
foretold, but there may beanother woman just as suitable,
(06:38):
just as right for George, whowould lead him on another,
equally valid life path.
But now that he's focused onMiss L by the psychic prediction
, he'd probably ignore thesecond possibility, thus short
circuiting his choice and freewill.
My belief is that psychics canbe mentors, but we must never be
gurus.
(06:59):
And while there have been trueavatars on earth think
Paramahansa Yogananda, forinstance A psychic won't be one
of them.
What's the difference?
I explain it to clients thisway A mentor is likely someone
who pushes your learningenvelope a bit further than you
think you can go.
They push you out of thecomfort nest a bit before you
(07:20):
think you're ready and encourageyou to fly on your own, and
they will cheer you on as youbecome as good or better in the
same field.
In other words, they believe inyour ability to govern your own
life and have a high level ofskill.
A false guru, on the other hand, often has all or nothing rules
to follow and urges you tobelieve that they and they alone
(07:41):
have all your answers.
Sooner or later, theirfollowers find out they're
nothing but ordinary folks withfeet of clay and they're rapidly
toppled from their pedestals.
We can help you choose byshowing you options, but
nothing's written in stone.
Even the order in which you doyour errands can shape a future.
For instance, if you go to thegrocery store before the
(08:04):
pharmacy, you could be hit by atruck.
Reverse the order of theerrands the truck and you are
nowhere near each other and youlive.
Yeah, I have testimonials thattell me how accurate I am, that
things happened in the order inwhich I talked about them during
a reading.
I'm pleased to hear that, but Ideliberately don't focus on my
percentage of accuracy, becausethen I'm concentrating on me, my
(08:27):
ego and my statistics, and mywork is not about my ego at all.
I am not important.
What's important is you as myclient.
All I ever do is ask that Godor Spirit or Source and your
guides give me the informationthat you need so I can lay it
out for you.
As a result, I'm good attelling you about life's
(08:49):
pathways, twists and turns, butI don't name every rock, tree
and gas station you'll pass onyour journey.
All that said, there are somepeople who make a practice out
of predicting this way, and theycan be accurate, but I wouldn't
choose to allow a perfectstranger to blueprint my life
that way.
So what do I want you to takefrom the road trip today?
Simply that there are lots ofgood intuitives out there.
(09:11):
Just choose wisely, always doresearch on them ahead of time,
ask for references and, again, remember none of us will be 100%
accurate so that when you getthe information, you can think
about it and decide is it toovague and not useful?
Do detailed and ignoring yourfree will, or exactly what you
(09:34):
need to move forward withconfidence, in a sense of
adventure that last, as thethree bears would tell you, is
just right.
I've been guiding friends andclients since 1973.
I love showing youopportunities and how to grab
them, where the tough stuff isand how to get through it, and
handing you your toolbox throughtarot and oracle cards,
(09:57):
past-life exploration, spiritguides and angelic conferences
and mediumship.
