Speaker 1 (00:00):
Valentine's Day has
all kinds of meanings, from
getting the biggest number ofcards from our kindergarten
classmates to finding the rightpartner to share those romantic
dinners with, and maybe a wholelife.
But what if you fall in lovewith a whole world?
What happens then?
Hi, I'm Corbie Mitleid and thisis the Psychic Yellow Brick
(00:21):
Road.
The world is changing and lifedoesn't have the spark it used
to, so we look around and askwhere do I need to go to catch
the magic?
again?
, You've found it.
Welcome to the Psychic YellowBrick Road, a weekly podcast
that delves into the intuitiveworld, metaphysics, life purpose
(00:43):
and how to connect with thecompassion of spirituality.
I'm Corbie Mitleid and I'vebeen on the Psychic Yellow Brick
Road for 50 years.
I'm a Certified Tarot Master, past life specialist, psychic
medium, channel and authorand, most importantly, I'm an
Elder in the field, ready topass on everything I've
discovered to you.
So let's hit that PsychicYellow Brick Road where you can
(01:05):
find the real wizards and avoidthe flying monkeys.
How to Fall in Love with aWhole World.
The red and green tinsel isbarely off the shelves December
27th and suddenly there are thehearts: red, flowery and
insistent in every size andstyle.
Valentine's Day candy and cardsand decorations are everywhere,
(01:28):
reminding us for weeks aheadthat this is the day designed
for love.
I've seen those hearts causeseveral reactions: giggles in
delight for those who have aspecial someone, swooning yet
eternally hopeful longing.
by young girls who have crusheson schoolmates or rock stars.
Exasperation by folks who justthink all the fuss is silly.
(01:51):
And looks more poignant.
Grief for those no longer hereor those who never arrived in
time.
By those for whom the holidayis more stiletto in the ribs
than Cupid's arrow in the heart.
Valentine's Day has beenco-opted by marketing and media
expectations.
(02:11):
If we don't have that specialsomeone on whom to lavish our
emotions, then our value onFebruary 14th is just a little
less than everyone else's.
Better luck next year, you know.
Or maybe you should just go toone of those swirling, desperate
singles dances, just in caseyou can find someone in time.
Ugh, but it's possible to takethe idea of true love back from
(02:36):
the moneymen to show it to besomething a little greater than
their expectations.
All of us, at one time oranother, have had the phrase if
you loved me, you would thrownat us as a challenge, a
complaint or a plea, but thephrase is a lie.
When we love truly, we lovebecause we decide to Love, like
(03:01):
happiness is a choice, and thosemoments when we choose to open
ourselves to love withoutreservation or condition are
overwhelming in their beauty andbliss.
It works the same way when theobject of our love is the one in
the mirror.
When we peel love away frombeing a bargaining chip, a
reward or a prize in thecrackerjack box of life, we have
(03:22):
a sanctuary for ourselves.
When we love ourselves deeplyand truly, we don't hold
ourselves to impossiblestandards.
We don't use love as either acarrot or a stick.
We recognize it as where wedwell, safe, secure, strong and
at peace.
When we're the face in form oflove and completely accept that
(03:45):
for ourselves, then, and onlythen, can we turn and give
others that same absolute peace.
The puzzle of it all, though,is if we don't love others, we
cannot love ourselves, but it'sa puzzle only if you see
yourself as separate from others.
When you realize that to loveone is to love all.
(04:06):
To love everyone else is tolove yourself perfectly, you
fall into that seamless tapestryof compassion, joy and
equanimity.
Years ago, I was part of aconference where author Robert
Schwartz was the keynote speaker.
Listening to him, I was struckby his description of his sudden
(04:28):
introduction to how love istruly everything in the universe
.
"I took a break from work andwent for a walk and had a
profound experience.
I suddenly felt overwhelming, unconditional love for every
person I saw.
No words can adequately conveythe power of this love.
(04:49):
It was of an intensity anddepth I had never experienced
and did not know was possible.
For each person the motherpushing her baby in a stroller,
the cab driver waiting for afare, the child playing at the
corner, the barber cutting hairbehind the window of his barber
shop I felt pure, limitless love.
(05:11):
Though I had never before heardof such an experience, I knew
intuitively what was happening.
I was in enhanced, immediatecommunion with my soul.
My soul was saying to me thislove is who you are.
That description, though I'veheard it and read it a dozen
(05:32):
times, still hits me right inthe heart.
If we could touch that light inourselves, even only
occasionally, how different theworld might be when this
experience happened.
Rob was just at the beginningof the incredible experiences
that would lead him to writeyour soul's plan.
He wasn't a lifelong seeker oftruth.
He wasn't someone steeped inmetaphysical or religious
(05:55):
thought.
He was just someone open to themessage, and if it's possible
for him to experience that, it'spossible for any of us.
This year, change your idea ofValentine's Day.
Do what Rob did.
Go for a walk on your street ata mall, no matter who comes
(06:19):
into your line of vision.
Look deeply, acknowledge,heart-deep and unconditionally,
the beauty and courage of theirwants and needs, their own
strivings to fit into the worldand understand it, their own
loves and longings.
Honor everything that makesthem a brave and courageous soul
that has incarnated EarthsideTo learn, to heal, to serve the
(06:42):
universe through that learning.
Remember that what moves them, the spark of soul, is also yours
.
Or if we all in the end, goback to the central point, if
we're all merely emanations ofthe one, there's no difference.
Then come back and imaginetaking a walk with yourself next
(07:03):
to you.
Take the time to study yourselfthe same way you studied those
on your love excursion.
Honor the choices andchallenges you've made.
Know that there is absolutelynothing about you that's less
than completely deserving oflove.
Embrace your stumblings, yourbackslides and even your moments
(07:27):
of defeat and failure asvaliant efforts to understand
the world and your own being tothe best of your ability.
Credit your bravery and yourresilience, the fact that you
get up every day willing tolearn, to change, to grow, love,
forgive, embrace until you arecompletely saturated in your own
(07:51):
unconditional love, forgivenessand acceptance.
Now you're ready to give yourown Valentine to the world.
Go outside and fling your lovewith joy unrestrained, not
measuring whether to give it inthis place or that, or caring if
it's accepted in return.
Give joyously and without rulesor restrictions, seizing each
(08:13):
moment as a chance to bestow aspiritual embrace on every
person who crosses your path.
A smile, unexpected, an angelact picking up a stranger's tab
at a restaurant with nothingasked in return and perhaps
without their even knowing whodid it.
A kind word to someone, unanticipated but heartfelt, and
(08:36):
an eyes-to-eyes acknowledgementof appreciation for someone's
everyday work, whether it's thestore clerk who bags your
groceries or the car wash fellowwiping down your car on a very
cold day.
Your life and how you live.
It is a Valentine to yourselfand to the world.
Every day, sign that Valentinewith a flourish, follow it on
(09:02):
everyone who comes in contactwith you and watch your own
inner mailbox fill tooverflowing with messages of
love from the universe.
I've been guiding friends andclients since 1973.
I love showing youopportunities and how to grab
them, where the tough stuff isand how to get through it, and
(09:23):
handing you your toolbox throughtarot and oracle cards,
past-life exploration, spiritguides and angelic conferences
and mediumship.
