'Boots': Inside Netflix’s New Drama with Miles Heiser & Max Parker

In this episode, we dive into Boots, Netflix’s new drama about a closeted Marine recruit in the era before Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Based on Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine, the series follows Miles Heiser as he leads an ensemble cast through a grueling 13-week boot camp in the early ’90s.

Heiser stars alongside Max Parker, who plays the hard-nosed drill sergeant driven to be extra tough on the recruit ,but for reasons that go deeper than training. In this conversation, Heiser and Parker discuss their intense preparation for the roles, including shaved heads, the rare dynamic between their characters, and how the series led them to reflect on their own journeys as out actors in Hollywood.
