Speaker 1 (00:34):
Hey everyone, welcome
back to the Radiant Mission
Podcast.
I'm your host, rebecca, and Iam so excited to kick off a
brand new series called CoffeeTalk or Tea Talk, or, if you are
like my husband and you're fromNew York or the Northeast,
(00:54):
wolfie Talk.
I actually have my tea here, since it is the nighttime when
I'm recording.
But I would say, for most ofyou listening, it's probably
more about those quiet momentsin the morning with just you,
your Bible and maybe a warm cupof coffee or tea as a time to
(01:16):
reflect.
So that is the heart behindthis series.
Think of this series likesitting down with a friend for
an honest conversation nopressure, no judgment, just a
chance to think deeper aboutthings that really matter.
This series is really designedto get us thinking, to encourage
(01:37):
us and, ultimately, to point usback to the word of God Yahweh.
The topics that we're going tobe covering are foundational, so
these are the kinds ofquestions that shape not only
what we believe but how we live.
Let's talk a little bit aboutwhat the series is about.
(01:57):
Over the next eight episodesunless it expands we're going to
be tackling some big questions, questions that, honestly, I
don't claim to have all of theanswers to.
But that's really the beauty offaith, right?
God invites us to seek him, towrestle with truth and to grow
(02:22):
in our understanding.
So my goal is really to sparkcuriosity and to encourage you
to dive into scripture andhopefully, through this series,
this helps to strengthen yourwalk with the Lord.
I know it's going to strengthenmine as I'm preparing for these
episodes and discussing thesetopics.
(02:43):
So let's take a closer look atsome of the things we're going
to be discussing in this series.
This is what I have planned sofar.
Who is God?
This is the ultimate question,right?
Who is God?
What is his character?
Some people see him as a lovingfather, while others picture
(03:08):
him as this distant judge.
But what does the Bibleactually say?
In the episode on who is God,we're going to explore God's
nature, his holiness, hisjustice, mercy, love and why
knowing him personally changeseverything.
Next, we're going to dive intowho is Jesus or Yeshua.
(03:33):
Jesus is the most influentialfigure in history, but who is he
really?
Some say he was just a goodteacher, others called him a
prophet, but the Bible tells usthat he is the Son of God, the
Messiah, the only way tosalvation.
(03:54):
So we'll break down why Jesusisn't just another religious
figure but the very foundationof our faith.
Next, after Jesus, we're goingto talk about Mary and Mary's
role in Christianity and how tohonor Mary without worshiping
(04:14):
her.
Mary, of course, is the motherof Jesus.
There are multiple Marysmentioned in the Bible but she
is an important figure inscripture and in some traditions
she's been elevated to thelevel of near worship, and so we
want to talk about what doesthe Bible say about Mary's role
(04:35):
and how should Christians viewher?
We'll discuss the balancebetween honoring her and
ensuring that our worshipbelongs to God alone.
Of course.
That then rolls us into acontinued conversation on prayer
and praying to saints.
(04:56):
Is it biblical or unbiblical?
This is a question I know thatmany Christians wrestle with.
Some believe that praying tosaints helps them intercede for
us, and others see it asunbiblical.
So in the episode on praying tosaints, we will examine what
(05:18):
the scripture says about prayer, who we should be praying to,
and whether the idea of prayingto saints aligns with God's word
.
Next up, the truth about Satan amyth or a real enemy?
A lot of people see Satan as afictional character, like this
(05:40):
cartoonish figure with horns anda pitchfork, but the Bible
describes him very differently.
He's the real enemy, a deceiver, the father of lies, and in the
episode on Satan we'll talkabout who he is, his role in the
world and why understanding histactics is crucial for
spiritual warfare.
And, of course, that brings usto a topic that rolls right
(06:03):
along the unseen battle.
Are demons at work in the worldtoday?
This topic is one that manychurches don't talk about, but
the Bible is clear Demons arereal and spiritual warfare is
happening all around us.
So we'll look at what scripturesays about demonic influence
(06:30):
possession and how believers canstand firm against the enemy
through the power of Christ.
Next, what about the Bible?
Can we trust the Bible?
We'll talk about history, prophecy and proof.
The Bible is the mostscrutinized book in history.
The Bible is the mostscrutinized book in history.
(06:51):
Some say it's just a collectionof myths, while others believe
it's the divinely inspired wordof God.
So how can we know?
Well, in this episode we willexplore the historical accuracy
of scripture, fulfilled prophecyand the evidence that sets the
(07:12):
Bible apart from any other book.
Another conversation that we'regoing to have is what does it
mean to be a Christian In aworld where the word
Christianity can mean differentthings to different people.
It's important to go back tothe basics.
What does it truly mean tofollow Christ?
(07:34):
Is it about attending church, being a good person or something
deeper?
We'll break down what the Biblesays about salvation, faith and
living a life transformed byJesus.
Now let's talk a little bitabout why these conversations
matter.
I believe that these arequestions every Christian should
(07:56):
ask or explore.
In today's world, there are somany opinions and voices,
conflicting messages.
Sometimes we just accept whatwe've been told without really
digging deeper.
But Jesus himself calls us toseek, ask and knock.
That's from Matthew 7.7.
God isn't afraid of ourquestions.
(08:17):
He welcomes them, and when weseek him with all our hearts, he
promises that we will find him.
Jeremiah 29.13.
So, whether you've been aChristian for your whole life,
you're new to the faith oryou're just curious and you are
trying to figure it all outright now, this series is for
you.
My hope is that these episodesspark a deeper desire for you to
(08:39):
know God, to know scripture andto grow in your faith.
Let's talk about what to expect.
