Rebecca Twomey (00:32):
The Hello and
welcome to the Radiant Mission
Podcast.
My name is Rebecca Twomey andI've got a question for you
today what's your sign?
It's a question almost everyonehears at some point and for
many it's just casual fun.
Horoscopes, star signs, moonphases they are everywhere and
(00:54):
sadly, even many Christians havewelcomed astrology into their
lives as something harmlesslives as something harmless,
beautiful or even spiritual.
But is it?
In today's episode we aretaking a deep dive.
Look into astrology not fromthe lens of pop culture or
(01:15):
self-discovery, but through thelens of God's word.
We'll talk about what the Bibleactually says about the stars,
divination and the spiritualdangers of following anything
other than the Holy Spirit.
We'll also explore howastrology connects to the
Nephilim and the forbiddenknowledge passed down by fallen
(01:38):
angels, as we have beendiscussing in previous episodes.
So definitely tune back intothe last few episodes if you are
just joining now, and I'm alsogoing to share some testimonies
from some ex-psychics who nowfollow Jesus and are sounding
the alarm for the church.
This is one of thosecountercultural topics that
(02:00):
challenge popular thinking andwithin Christian circles.
But if we want to truly walk intruth, we must be willing to
examine everything throughscripture.
So let's dive right in.
First, I want to talk about theallure of astrology.
In Christian culture, astrologyis often presented as harmless,
(02:25):
as self-discovery and as a toolto really better understand
your personality or yourcompatibility with other people.
It's kind of this stylishaesthetic and sometimes even
people refer to it as empowering, and social media is full of
these cute zodiac memes anddaily horoscopes that make it
(02:45):
all feel lighthearted and funand not that serious.
But the truth is that even thisharmless version of astrology
is rooted in divination, whichis an ancient spiritual practice
that the Bible explicitly tellsus to stay away from.
It forbids us from going downthat road.
(03:05):
It is not neutral, it is notinnocent.
It's a counterfeit spiritualitythat leads people away from God
and toward false sources oftruth.
So let's talk about what theBible says about divination, and
I want to be clear about this.
The Bible repeatedly condemnsastrology and divination.
(03:30):
Deuteronomy 18, 10 through 12says let no one be found among
you who practices divination orsorcery or who interprets omens,
and it says that thesepractices are detestable to the
Lord.
Isaiah 47, 13 through 14,.
(03:52):
God is rebuking Babylon andsaying let your astrologers come
forward.
Surely they are like stubble.
The fire will burn them up.
Leviticus 19, 26,.
Do not practice divination orseek omens.
These verses are not vague.
They are not open tointerpretation.
(04:13):
God's word is clear Divination, astrology, sorcery and occult
practices are not for his people.
So let's talk about astrologyand the Nephilim connection.
Back in episode 146, we talkedabout the book of Enoch and it
reveals how fallen angels, called the watchers, descended
(04:36):
to earth and gave humansforbidden knowledge.
This included things likewarfare, sorcery, enchantments
and astrology.
In Enoch 8.3, it says Sam Jezodtaught enchantments and root
cuttings, amaros, the resolvingof enchantments and Barakel
(04:57):
astrology.
So astrology isn't just someneutral science.
It's part of fallen angelwisdom that corrupted mankind,
wisdom from angels who rebelledagainst God.
This puts astrology in a verydifferent light.
It's not just a personalityquiz from the stars.
(05:19):
It is ancient deception.
An example of this is thepowerful testimonies from former
psychics.
I have seen some voices rising, like Jen Nisa she's the founder
of Ex-Psychic Saved.
She is on Instagram asEx-Psychic Saved and also Doreen
Virtue.
They are both former psychicmediums and they discuss
(05:45):
astrology as well.
It is a huge part of quotespiritual work or of new age,
and both of these women came toknow Jesus and they are now
openly warning that astrology isa gateway into the occult they
share.
How harmless tools like birthcharts and horoscopes lead us
(06:06):
deeper into darkness.
It's even said that astrologycan be an entry point and they
are pleading with Christians toavoid it entirely.
But you might be wondering, okay, god's telling us not to do
this, but why?
Why is astrology spirituallydangerous?
(06:27):
I'm going to give you guys, five biblical reasons.
First, it replaces the voice ofGod.
When we seek guidance from thestars, we are not seeking the
Holy Spirit.
We're turning to creationinstead of the creator.
Second, it promotes the selfover surrender.
(06:48):
Astrology encourages self-focus.
What's my sign?
What do I need?
How do I align with others?
It keeps us looking inward andnot upward.
Number three it opens spiritualdoors.
Engaging in astrology caninvite demonic influence, even
(07:09):
unknowingly.
The enemy doesn't need fullaccess, just an open door.
Number four it imitatesprophecy.
Astrology attempts to predictand interpret the future, but
god alone knows the future.
This is a false prophecy andGod calls that an abomination.
(07:31):
Number five it can become anidol.
Anything we turn to forguidance, identity or truth
besides God is idolatry, even ifit's wrapped in aesthetically
pleasing packaging.
Another area to discuss isastrology.
In the end times.
(07:51):
There is a prophetic connectionhere.
In the end times, deception isgoing to increase.
People will follow signs, wonders and counterfeit
spirituality, as we are told in2 Thessalonians 2, verses 9
through 12.
As we are told in 2Thessalonians 2, verses 9
(08:12):
through 12.
And the rise of astrology inmainstream culture, including
among Christians, is a warning.
We're being conditioned toaccept spiritual practices that
God calls evil.
And if the Nephilim were behindthis deception before the flood
, could we be seeing similardeceptions returning, as in the
days of Noah, as is told inMatthew 24, 37.
(08:36):
It's really something toconsider.
We are really called to be setapart, you guys.
Romans 12, 2 says do notconform to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by therenewing of your mind.
God has always called hispeople to be set apart, not to
dabble in what the worldembraces, even if it's trendy,
(08:57):
even if your favorite influencerposts about moon signs and
retrogrades.
We are called to follow theHoly Spirit, not the stars.
If you've dabbled in astrologyor followed horoscopes, this
isn't a message of condemnation.
Let me be clear about that.
This is really just a call toclarity and to repentance.
(09:20):
Ask the Holy Spirit to show youif there's anything in your
life that opens a spiritual door, and if he leads you to walk
away from it, then do it.
I'd like to follow up with anepisode a little bit more in
detail on mediums, the new ageand why the spiritual realm
isn't something for us to beplaying with.
Until then, stay grounded inGod's word and stay close to his
(09:44):
voice and seek the Holy Spirit.
As we close today, I have a fewreflection questions.
First, have I ever viewedastrology as harmless?
Why Am I turning to anythingother than the Holy Spirit for
guidance, and what do I need tolet go of to walk in full
obedience to God?
(10:04):

You are wearied with your manycounsels.
Let them stand forth and saveyou.
Those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who, at
(10:48):
the new moons, made known whatshall come upon you.
Behold, they are like stubblethe fire consumes them.
They cannot deliver themselvesfrom the power of the flame.
