Two bearded musicians with fun-loving spirits walk into a podcast, and what unfolds is pure Texas musical magic. Manzy Lowry and Mike Newman bring their authentic voices and creative wisdom to the Rambling Gypsy Podcast, sharing the story of their unexpected friendship.

Through captivating stories of their musical journeys, these two talented songwriters reveal the beautiful contrasts in their creative approaches. Mike embraces the distinction between artists and performers, noting that inspiration strikes when it chooses: "When I want to write, I'll write, and when I have something to say, I'll put it down." Meanwhile, Manzy speaks to the therapeutic power of songwriting during low moments: "Let that ink bleed on paper, because it's therapy... Once you release it, it no longer has a hold on you."

The magic happens when these different approaches merge. Despite their varied styles, they meet in the middle – challenging and complementing each other to create something neither would have written alone. As they demonstrate through live performances, including "Narrow Ain't So Straight" (written in just 15 minutes from three random prompts), their creative chemistry produces something uniquely beautiful.

Beyond their personal partnership, the conversation explores the special musical community in New Braunfels, Texas – a place where impromptu jam sessions happen under 500-year-old cypress trees, where established musicians gather to decompress and create. These musical havens serve as crucial spaces "where wanderers can go decompress, relax and create," highlighting the importance of supportive environments for artistic expression.

Whether you're a musician, a creative spirit, or simply someone who appreciates authentic connection, this conversation offers a window into the heart of Texas music culture – where friendship, spontaneity, and genuine expression create something truly special. Listen in and discover why sometimes the most beautiful songs begin with a simple connection between two artists who see the world a little differently.

The Rambling Gypsy podcast is a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of real Texans doing real sh*t. We're pulling back the curtains on our daily lives - and you're invited to laugh and learn along with us.

Let's talk about how you twomet and where y'all's merger
came together.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Yeah, well, think, uh , the first time manzi was doing
these live shows, uh, duringcovid everybody was doing this
live, was it before?
Yeah, it was before, but well, you, but that's when, I probably
uh, but anyways, he was onthere and I was like following
him and I was like, okay, youknow, you know, I've commented
like play this song, orsomething.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
No, you didn't.
You said nice beard.
Something like that that'swhere it started.
What do you use to make it looklike that?
Next thing you know, though, Ishowed up at Riley's one night.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
He was playing and I had my guitar.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Riley's Tavern, you guys.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Riley's Tavern, you know, and I ended up getting up
and playing a little bit andthen we just were friends right
after that, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
That's probably how the child started.
Well, you got to have some kindof cojones when you walk in
somebody else's show, carryingit, I guess right.
So when I saw him.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I figured.
Welcome to Mike Newman's show.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
I figured that he was either going to be.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
He was waiting on me the whole time.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Little did you know it was a booby trap.
Yeah, I like this chat.
Uh, he's either gonna be anasshole or he's gonna be really
awesome, and likely he was thelatter.
And so, yeah, hot dad, and heyman, I want to hear some of your
poetry.
Help him play.
All right.
And then, heck, I think thenext day I was in nordheim.
What night he went out there?

Speaker 4 (02:40):
oh yeah now, that's a funny story, let's hear it.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
You were in where.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Nordheim.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Texas.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Nordheim.
Yeah, I thought you saidBerghain.
Nope, I know where Berghain is,where the fuck is Nordheim?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
South.
What's that Down towardsFloresville?

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Yeah, yeah, that way.

Speaker 3 (02:57):

Speaker 4 (03:07):
If you sneeze, been to Yorktown.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I was working for a company called GeoSource
clearing land and then big earthmovers Yep.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
And I saw on my Facebook man's a liar playing at
the Broadway bar in Nordheimwhich is like maybe what 10
miles out of town?

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
So I called him and, sure enough, we met up down
there and then partied all night, stayed at the hotel until 4 in
the morning.
I went to work the next day.
He drove home.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Solid decisions.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Yeah, those are the typical things you do, yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
We solved a lot of problems that night, yeah, yeah,
and then after that we just.
You wrote a tune or two or what, yes, or?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
do y'all remember?
Yeah, wrote a tune or two, orwhat, or do y'all?

Speaker 3 (03:43):
remember?
Yeah, that was before Mikey hadmade the decision to take this
path to go full time we talkedabout that.
I think the next time I saw himhe had made that decision.
It was really awesome to see soyou've been full time now.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
How long?

Speaker 4 (04:04):
I'd say three years, I guess.
Yeah, something like that, andI still do a little bit of work
here and there at a buddy'sranch.
I'll go out and work out therewhen there's work to be done.
And I helped a buddy of mine, mike Gonzalez.
He has a pool plasteringcompany and we were out in
Ballinger for that was anothercoincidence, right.

(04:26):
He had just got back fromBallinger, manzi did, and the
next day I was like, hey, I'mdown here in Ballinger, that's
where I'm from.
The hell am I doing down here?
Because-.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
And once again, no one even knows where Ballinger
is Again yes, he's like I'm atBeefmasters.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
I was like well, that's my cousins.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Go tell them that's my uncle's cousin's grandma's
sister.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
They were having a company party.
I was like, go tell them yourbrother's, he'll give you the
to-go box.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
He's like just tell them, you know, manji Lowry, I
was like, yeah, I'm not beatingon the door of the steakhouse,
but did you?
No?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Oh, you're such a poon.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
The whole thing was we were looking for.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
You know, they would have had like a pecan pie.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Yeah, a good whiskey.
We were looking for a good barChicken fry a little on your
brain.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
A nice gravy to go on the side.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Shut up.
We're about to hit the roadboys Y'all talked about taking
the truck out.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
We're about to hit the road.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Something sticks to your ribs?
Yeah, yeah, but we were lookingfor the bar.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Okay, all right, did you go to the bar.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
We ended up going to San Angelo that night.
Oh, okay.
That's in the bar.
That was that bar was shot.
You know the decisions I makeafter 9 o'clock.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Decisions I make and the choices the smell of success
.
It's the decisions I've doneand the choices I've made.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Or some shit like that it's like spraying a little
starter fluid on the exhaust,on the January yeah, on your
lawnmower, on your, I mean, youcan spray.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
On your dot, dot, dot On your right On your cookie if
you want, it'll fire anythingup.
I mean, yeah, you're going tohave to take river to church.
I'm just saying it might be alittle holy.
It's well water, but we canspritz it anywhere if we want to
Well water works just fine.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Just go lay in the river.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
There's been a lot of baptisms down in the Gwad at my
place.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
I married somebody down there.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
I'm 50%.
I've married two couples One'sstill young and one's got two
weeks.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Oh God, you just totally took off.
You're ordained.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Huh, I didn't know that, so you're just still
finding things out about me.
It's a lie.
He's ordained.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Bonafide, Bonafide.
I just want to hear the summonand the speech behind it.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
You're going to be like this is going to be the
most rad wedding.
You are him.
Shaboom, I get your ass up.
Where are the cocktails?
I held Kent Finley's book Coolup.
Where the cocktails?

Speaker 3 (07:07):
yeah, I can't feelings, but cool, yeah, yeah
so you see, in that world.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
That's really yeah all right, so y'all met in the
wait just about me right now.
I gotta figure out thisrelationship we're talking about
right here.
So y'all, y'allall written andare we singing those nowadays?
Are these up-and-comings?
What's happening we?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
got three that Mikey knows by heart yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
We haven't performed any of them live.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
I don't think You've done uh, we probably messed up a
little bit.
We swapped Once or twice.
I've asked them to do it.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
They're solid gold.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Not a doubt.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
But yeah, no, manzi is living.
I'm living close to him now.
I was downtown New Braunfels, but now I'm over by Riley's
Tavern and he's right off HunterLane, so it's a short little
drive for me to drive over tothe garage.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I got a donkey out there.
That'd be a nice little.
Get you right there.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
You get you right there short probably take a lot
longer than it's like going toboth kids, you know.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
He's got little legs yeah we're always Creating stuff
and we're always, you know, ourbrains.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Brains are always running 100 miles an hour first
time you came over to my oldgarage.
Yeah, I set up a place when myfriends come over, we just.
It invites creation yes and I'mgonna have a pusher of it too,
likewise, so much so that Idon't want to write tonight.
Are, are you sure?

(08:43):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Yeah, you do, you just don't know it yet.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Yeah, uh-huh.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
First word starts with Letter R for $200.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
But no, we set up a little thing in his garage.
I'll bring it over to thecomputer and we can actually
record while we're writing.
So it's more like if we do getsomething, at least it gets
tracked.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
It sticks right.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Yeah, because.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
It's easier to take away than to add.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
There's a lot of stuff we make up, you know,
freestyle and just kind of shootfrom the hip.
What do I always ask you?
And he's like did you record it?

Speaker 3 (09:16):
No, he's sitting right there.
Did you write it down?
No, he does that to warm up.
He would have a plethora ofmaterial if you just push record
.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
I really like playing like that sometimes, so I'll
just play Other people gotsomething to learn from you,
though.
And it's a good way to get itout.
Instead of just trying to thinkabout words, you've just got to
be, in the moment say what youwant to say and hopefully it

(09:50):
gets captured somehow.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Sometimes it doesn by me yelling, did you push record
?
So mandy's talked about a lotabout his writing and poetry and
how that is a big part of himand his passion in his
background.
What about mike newman?
Is that on the writing side?
oh, yeah a strong point for you,or performance side, or is it a
mix of both?

(10:11):
Because I think it's we.
I've talked to a lot ofmusicians and you know we're all
.
We've got our music family hereand I was just talking to
dallas about it and we weretalking about how there's just
some people that just find thatthe writing side is really their
passion.
The performance is more.
I'd rather you guys write it,hand it to me, let me get up
there and just rock the stage, right, is it You'd?

Speaker 3 (10:32):
be the Elton John.
What are?

Speaker 2 (10:33):
you Right.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
Well, what's up?

Speaker 2 (10:36):
What is Mike Newman?
Are you a little bit of both, are you?
Let's tell them.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
I would say more of a writer.
I, I would say more of a writer.
I've always said there'sartists and there's performers.
That's two different things.
I could not agree more Istarted out just writing,
writing, writing stuff, makingthings up.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Where did your music side?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
come from.
Well, I'd say, when I was alittle kid, my family, we always
were going to concerts.
My parents were always takingus to shows.
I was a little kid, my family,we always were going to concerts
.
My parents were always takingus to shows.
Okay, and I mean, I was alittle kid like going to see
Steve Miller band.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
First of all his parents are absolutely my
favorite humans in the world.
They're pretty good.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
My gosh, his mom's been a mom to me the ones you
want to put in your pocket andtake everywhere.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
And anyways, yes, yep , I'm going pocket and take
everywhere.
And anyways, yep, I'm gonnahave them on the show and y'all
cannot take them anywhere theyare staying with me?
Yep, that'd be great.
They're my peeps.
Oh, we have the best we're onour way out yeah, okay, go, but
yeah, your parents are freakingwrong, sir, you know writing is
just um for me.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
I like to write when I feel like it's time to write.
I don't try to force it and Idon't try to force it.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I don't try to push it that's been a really kind of
fun, valuable point that I havefound.
Um, where and I am so curiousand interested in that when,
like dallas said, his writingtime is first thing in the
morning, up early, boom, junglegoes, and that's from his

(12:05):
novellas and his writing side asa author, his is.
I get down to the island, I siton the balcony, I rum it up and
boom, shit just starts flowing.
Manzi's is one that you're sucha spiritual human being, you.
It just comes when the lightensand the sun and the moon, the

(12:30):
stars and and the rocks yes, yours.
Where does you?
What is yours?
Do you know when it's gonna hit?
You know it happens.
You're like, it's just likelife you never know.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
When you have something to say, you just say
it.
You just say to say it is.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
You got a shit ton to say you just don't document it.
Yeah, I'm the worst at it.
I mean, ask nick, I'm theabsolute.
He's a walking lesson of abreath of a story and you only
hear about 0.02 percent of them.
I've heard that.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I mean I've got tons of songs I play originals and
I've got tons of songs, I playoriginals and I've got tons of
work.
But, like I said, writing asfar as that goes, it's, you know
, when you don't have to, somepeople it's like a work ethic
thing, like they get up andthey're like sit there and work
it out.
But for me, when I want towrite, I'll write, and when I
have something to say, I'll putit down.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
That's an artist.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
That's the artist.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
That's how that works .

Speaker 3 (13:22):
I've got to tell you about that.
When you're feeling a littlebit lower down the blue, you
tend to want to get it out.
Let that ink bleed on paper, because it's a therapy right.
Once you release it, it nolonger has a hold on you.
When you're happy, you'reliving in the moment.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
I learned that years ago.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Best thing for therapy?
Best thing when you cannot tellyes, because you know why that
pencil is not going to judge you, that piece of paper will never
judge you.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Once you do that, it will learn to hold you.
It has no strength.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
It's the best thing I've ever ever learned.
I got that from Dr Phil.
I love me some Phil.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
It's been a long time .

Speaker 2 (14:01):
I tell you what I can't ever get enough of that
guy Did y'all ever see thatepisode.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
It's the guy from Bumfights, the guy from
Bumfights, and he dresses likeDr Phil.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
That is too classic.
It's so good, but yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I agree with the whole artist.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
There's no right or wrong way.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
There's no good or artist.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
There's no right or wrong way, there's no good or
bad, there's no black or white.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
It's all beautiful, yeah.
So you, coming from the writingstandpoint, you coming from the
writing standpoint, you guyshave obviously set and written
songs for yourself.
You guys have got arelationship that works, a vibe
that works, it's what, what?
Makes you to jive.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
He does a lot of my style and put it together, it's
all like water it flows, yeahand y'all knew this instantly
you had to I think so yeahthere's definitely like there's
even just song swapping withpeople.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
There's just people you just sit down with and it
just flows it's.
I was telling, uh, we had apodcast this past weekend.
We were talking about playingwith new players, you know, and
uh, it's like going on a firstdate, but it's a public date
right, you know it's you don'tknow what's going to happen and
hopefully, most of the time it'spretty good, it's.

(15:32):
you know something happens, good, but you know.
The thing is you got control.
Do you know when, when you'replaying with people that are in
the same realm as you as far aswriting, or what they're trying
to do?
You know, oh yeah, and it'sjust about reading the room, you
know, open your eyes.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Open your ears, Read the room and see Phil Wright
writes different than I do, andhe has a different style of work
, but they're so different thatworking together makes it
beautiful, because I find makingyourself uncomfortable bringing
something different.
Only you can learn more.
Yeah, you know, that's the wayI feel.
I learn a lot from him becausehe is different and he's cute

(16:15):
yeah, super cute yeah, I thinkthat's for sure.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Like kind of being out of your element is good for
you, helps you a little bit, makes us a little uncomfortable,
but also it's like you know, don't take yourself so fucking
serious like have fun, this iswhat we're supposed to be doing
anyways, this is for enjoymentdo you feel like you guys
challenge each other?
Yeah, all the time, not like ina in a, in a sassy.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
It's a brother right challenge.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
In a sassy way, it's a brother challenge.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Yeah, he's got his style, I've got my style, and
then we meet in the middle.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
It's so difficult to find a connection where you can
meet in the middle.
I'm one that throws a ton ofideas, a ton of ideas.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Right.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
And, like I said, it's easier to take away than to
have.
So I throw a ton of ideas andthen we fine tune.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Every time we've played even a live gig together.
We just have fun.
It's always different.
The show's always somethingelse.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
It's always quicker than it seems.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Yeah, he's always like we're batting 1,000 every
time.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
That sounds so, mansy , we're going to do a Listen,
jack.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Here we go, my book I have on here called Talking
Dirty.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
We need a Lowry's.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
whatever we need to have something.
Just wait for it.
It'll get me.
I mean, if I don't cut thepistol, I don't know what will
yeah.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
But that's.
I cannot believe, in all theyears I've known the two of you,
that I've never seen the two ofyou.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Together, together.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
I lost my rock.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Well, we can remember that the two of you together
together I lost my rock.
Well, we can hear that I wastrying to make it soft, as we
said.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I know I'll just keep rubbing away because he said
it's going to take thenegativity away, so I'm over
here.
It'll be a grain of salt by thetime I get done.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
This summer coming up , we'll just have to come down
to the river.
Yeah, I remember this the lasttime we're done I know you came
in for me.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Another it's in my hat.
Yeah, we had a great weekend itwas so fun.
Yeah, it was a good time wewere just hanging out with the
goat and whatever we had outthere.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
That goat's probably a lot bigger now.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Woo, that goat almost didn't make it through
breakfast this morning.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
I'm not going to lie.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Oh my.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Lord, I was becoming Yo.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Josh, seriously, cabrito, cabrito, yeah, achieve
a love.
But, I remember when the veryfirst time I met you, BD3 said
hey, I got a guy, I got a guyand you meet this guy.
And he came out, you andJuliana.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
And it's a long time ago and I remember it like it
was yesterday.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
It feels like yesterday.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
The old bagpipe.

Speaker 2 (20:56):

Speaker 4 (21:22):
That's a uh strange, you know exciting you'll run
into some iguanas and places younever thought you'd see one at
random, you know every timerandom times running to Shiloh
yeah he's like dude I'll neverforget.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
I know, bro, stop smoking, weed out there.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
There are some things you do not need to remember.
Oh my gosh, we had a blast outthere.
We had the best time.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
The absolute best time yeah.
This was the first year we'veever missed, and it was.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Right.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
A lot of people didn't go this year.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
No, and then I didn't quite feel.
None of us did, it's just ourlittle threesome that we have
Well in Kalamshah.
Yeah, but it is the first yearthat we missed.
That's all right, it's okay.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
I think they missed us more than they missed them.
I mean, I'm not trying to tootour own horn, but I'm going to
toot it.
Yeah, it's all right, you'reright.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
I realize that you know like every time we're down
usually in Montessori.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
It's cold down there and like yeah, it's like really
cold and it's like for beinghere.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
You want to go to the beach, you know, and see the
ocean.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
So when we?

Speaker 4 (22:34):
went down for the summer, I took my daughter to
the river.
I was down there for a wholemonth, July.
And this is already like a yearor two ago summers, two summers
ago, but it was hot and I meanlike how it should be, though
You're thinking you go down toKey West, and it was like the
most record-breaking.
You'd run to the water becauseyour feet are burning, Dude the
ocean seriously was like 90degrees, oh good Lord, Like it

(22:56):
was unreal hot, you know.
And we were down there, remember that river?
We down there for a whole year,I mean a whole month, and uh,
but it was like that's how youwant to go down there?
Yeah, wear your shorts andflops.
Yes, every time we've been atmile zero it's like windy and
cold as balls and you're like, hey man, I thought it was coming
to the tropical thing Iremember one year it was, um,

(23:20):
maybe the first or second year.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
It was before the COVID year, when everything had
switched all up, but it was.
Everything was so strange.
I had gone and bought everysingle hoodie in the merch booth
that they had, and then, yeah,to the point where Shiloh had
bought and I'm going to findthis picture he was cold, there

(23:49):
was no hoodies, there was nonothing, and it was.
What I'm trying to say is, ify'all need some merch help, call
it at me.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
Call it at me.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Do not put this out there for people.
This is the reason why you hadthe only hoodie out there.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
It was so flamboyant.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Yeah, there's no big tours.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
And you know.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Shiloh is a man's man .
Shiloh, you couldn't stick atoothpick in his ass if you
tried to.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Let me tell you what you can hawk.
Anything you want, it ain'tgoing in there.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
It ain't going in there.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Oh, man and Shiloh came walking out with this
hoodie, I peed myself In thegrounds.
I mean, thank God it was grassright there.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
You still have the hoodie.

Speaker 2 (24:37):

Y'all need some merch help, holler at me.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
I need some merch help.
Holler, look, let me holler allI like.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Remember how we talked about the artist thing
and the some people get yes, no,that's one thing that I can.
I can do?

Speaker 3 (25:11):
You are a member of the group.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
I have a vision of different things, and it is
eclectic and it is different andit is something that people
don't ever do n't ever think ofif you.
That's why it's beautiful giveme that moment by myself and go.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Let me sit in the corner yeah when I always say
you know, I never put you in thecorner give me your sometimes
no, no, you, you are a mover anda grouver.
You see things in differentrealms.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
I definitely have a different set of goggles than
most.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
That's one of your beautiful powers and talents.
It is.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
I appreciate that.
We all see it from the outside.
I appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
What did River call you?
You called it the cat in thehat house or something.
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
They all call it the who house?

Speaker 4 (26:01):
She was so you know when we stayed that one night,
two nights where she had such agood time you can stay in the
bus that I built down there Inthe bus.
Yeah, you know, it's likerustic gypsy.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
It's awesome, it's very texas vibe.
If you're from here, you get ityou know it's a feeling like
going to your grandparents place, like you just feel at home.
Grandparents that like probablyhad a bunch of weed?
Absolutely yes, you know theywere the ones that you had to go
to their place.
What happened?

Speaker 2 (26:32):
so see, I started mixing dreams we were just
talking about.
So my grandparents had a house.
Um, you know, we're all bornand raised in Little New
Brunswick.
German descendants came fromhere, so in fact I just took
Nick by a couple of weeks ago toshow her my grandmother's house
, which is off of the OG CommonStreet and Union back behind the

(26:55):
fairgrounds Really Mm-hmm.
And it was nobody even reallyknew what a dog run was in a
house.
And so we had yeah, so we hadthe barn and the dog run and
then the house was here and um,we, uh the whole.
Yeah, so in between where thebarn was and the house was,

(27:21):
where the dog barn was, we had agarden in the back that my
grandmother huge in garden, everything was every gardener
and gardener but the washer anddryer was set outside you didn't
put.
They didn't put washer anddryers inside.
So there was like a two, threestep up to go from where the
garage was.
Here's the dog run.
Then you go into the littlehouse.

(27:42):
Here's the washer and dryer.
Well, on top of the washer anddryer was there.
If they didn't wash their jarsobviously weren't like they were
but there was a ledge, almostlike a shelf type deal that you
could well.
That was where the barn was, that's where our grandparents
sat, I mean, and there waseverything that you could well.
That was where the bar was, that's where our grandparents
sat, I mean, and there waseverything that you could

(28:02):
possibly imagine so if grandpawas down in the washroom?
Yeah, he said no, he sentlittle gypsy out there I started
making cocktails at the wee ageof two, bring me that cigar box
I started being a nakedbartender at a wee young age.
But look, I can't even look at amaraschino cherry to this day.

(28:26):
I think I peed red.
I think I probably still smelllike a cherry from time to time.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
I've never been able to say maraschino.
How do you say that?

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Maraschino.
Okay, that was still extra,Nancy.
We're rednecks from NewBrunswick.
We don't say nothing.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Oh yeah you do.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Oh Lord, it's a good thing we have to eat.
But yeah, so I did.
I started making cocktails at avery young age you said that's
common, uh-huh.
So you know where thefairgrounds are on this side.
So if you're going from theCamel Street Bridge, where

(29:08):
you're, going over okay.
Yeah, and you're going towardsdowntown, right?
Yeah, so the fairgrounds areover here On the right yeah.
Yeah, so she lived on the backthere on Main Street.
And I just took Nick.
What was that like a week ago, nick?
We went by and showed her thehouse and it was so sweet, my
mom lives right there off Common, right there at 2340 Common.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
She's right there.
I mean, she's not even a robinshot away.
But what's cool about you?
Know a lot of the old Germanhouses there if there's still
still some left, because they'rebuilding so many new houses and
lots but all all these housesthey used to the german culture.
You know they, a lot of them, have their business out of their
house.
Yes, so you'll see these houseswith two doors, like two front
doors.
It's the same house.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Yeah, yes, and you'll see it well in town too.
That you're mentioning that issome of the houses that have
turned into businesses OneFelber, and.
Friends which I've known andbeen part of that family since I
was wee little my gosh.

(30:10):
The whole family, all theFelbers, but all their
businesses have got the dualdoors like that that they
operate out of it really is.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I mean, I imagine it's cheaper to some of the
insurance on the house of thebuilding yes, that's what you
see.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
Oh, the shotgun houses.
You get a breezeway.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
They're brilliant and they're always normally north
to south, whatever thepredominant wind blows right.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
Shotgun houses are beautiful I did take nick by um.
My dad used to have a and thisis gonna um, fuck a.
There's a, there's a name forit, it's um describe the word.
So when you walk into the house, you open up the front door and
you walk into the house.
That's the second level.

(30:53):
The main level is undergroundthere.
So there's a basement?

Speaker 1 (30:58):
No, it's not a basement.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
It's a split level.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
It's split level.
That's exactly what it is.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
So over where?
Yeah, that's right that'sexactly.
That's my nickname that is soappropriate Manzy split level
Lowry, I've seen that.
20 times, oh my god, I feellike that should be a CD cover.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
I have such a vision for this.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Right now, we can do it live from the undisclosed
location, live from the HerPalace that we have to call this
so my dad lived in that housewith his roommate.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
His name was Weasel, little tiny little fella, just
as cute as he could be, and theywere buddies, but they yeah,
you would walk in stairs, wouldgo down.
That was the split room yes,and then when you go out the
backside, you'd go up and thenyou hit the land and then we had
Weasel had chickens we don't Inever, because I know and then

(32:03):
you hit the land and then we hadwe still had chickens.
Okay, I'm sitting in the nextsinger songwriting session with
you too.
Nothing, we're on some goodjokes and some good material for
my show.
I tell you that he'll say wehad to get done look, I came up
out of the stairs I was littleand I was gonna go get some eggs

(32:26):
out of the coop and, um, yeah, there was um nothing but
freaking anacondas snakes inthere.
Yeah, uh, uh, just going downeating them eggs.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Look this girl snakes in there.

Speaker 4 (32:38):
Yeah, Uh-uh, Just going down eating the eggs.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Look this girl I am barefoot run around, don't give
a damn Swimming like a wit.
Uh, no, I don't do snakes.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
That's it Out of all the animals yeah, you're not a
snake, or?

Speaker 1 (32:53):

Speaker 3 (32:54):
No, no, you're definitely not no, we're talking
about that no.

Speaker 2 (32:58):

Speaker 3 (33:00):

purse or something.
Yeah, in my hat.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Have you eaten rattlesnake?
No, no, I ain't, I mean.
And you prepare it just likechicken fry and it's white meat
you need to fan.

Speaker 2 (33:15):

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Yeah, yeah, no, it's really good.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Do you fam make corn nuggets?

Speaker 3 (33:20):

Speaker 2 (33:24):
You never too far west for a corn nugget.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Say it again, girl.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
Ain't no corn.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
I'll slap a guarantee on that.
All right, we got that.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Okay, write that one down, but slap a guarantee on
that.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
I don't tell you much , but I want to tell you what.

Speaker 2 (33:41):

No, don't do the what.
I cannot believe you ain'tmaking no damn corn nuggets.

Speaker 4 (33:48):

spiders.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
They can just do their own life.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
Anything and scorpions I was going to say
something so horrible.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
But you cut yourself.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Yes because, there's, and then you go out back after

Speaker 3 (34:01):

Speaker 4 (34:51):

Speaker 3 (35:00):
We don't know what the hell it is.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
But when we're down, we're gonna strum it out up on
the guitar and we're gonna singabout it on the stage, or we're

You would have thought therewere rabid raccoons.
There were serving spoons, serving spoons all over the
place and I was like, unless I'mgoing to get street cred on one
of y'all songs that goes viral,y'all can all fuck off, I'll
call it.

The story's changed andnobody's listening.
Nobody's got their ear to theground.
Riddles down, fish ain't biting.
I think it's time to let it allout.
I don't care which way I go.

(42:21):
Place a marshal tug searchingfor a rainbow, fire it up and
get out of here.
There's nothing left for me toshare.
Call it what you want, I don'tcare.
The story's changed, it's allthe same.

(42:52):
We're all looking for the blame, building fences, everyone's
a-fencing TV's about to make usall the same.
You can find me down in OldCounty Road.
That's where the story allbegins.
When I get lost, I won't worry,I'll never come back this way

(43:20):
again.
I don't care which way I go.
Place a marshal to search for arainbow, fire it up, get out of
here.
There's nothing left for me toshare.
Call it what you want, I don'tcare.

(43:43):
I don't care, baby, I don'tcare which way I go.

(44:35):
I love that Well that's thetruth.

Speaker 3 (44:37):
Just like that.
I love that.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
You could have not introduced that song at a better
time, a better day for mepersonally.
I know and everything that hashappened to me from sunup to
sundown.
It's not bad, good.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
I hope that's what your music's supposed to do.
You're not supposed to changeyour take on it.
It absolutely does.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
Oh, I felt it.
Believe me, look, my eyes havebeen leaking since.
I can't even tell you how long.
Oh Woo yeah.

Speaker 4 (45:04):
That's all I was looking for you to do, thank you
.
Yeah, yeah, that's a song aboutjust moving on down the road

Speaker 3 (45:11):
Ain't got nothing left to share, girl.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Oh, come on At this undisclosed location Somewhere
in the hill country when awoman's got a backhoe and then
she's got a tool.
Can we just stick with thefireflies, shall we?
Can we stay positive?
Yes, let's do it.
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
Remember any of the other ones?
All right, let's go.

Speaker 2 (45:38):
I know y'all got a say we were on a roll there.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
Yeah, which one.

Speaker 3 (45:42):
Do you want to play One of yours or?

Speaker 2 (45:43):
what.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
So, mikey and I, we did a show and we were planning
on doing a writing sessionafterwards, and so we got to my
shop and he got a phone callabout a social gathering.
He's like, man, I want to go tothat.
I was like 10-4, write downthree words or three lines on
top of this page so I can writeto it.
Right, and he did everythingall right.

(46:06):
Yeah, it's good, just, we'rejust, we're just moving baby
bottles.

Speaker 4 (46:08):
Okay, you want to move the room?

Speaker 1 (46:10):
it's what happened.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Okay and uh what is it?

Speaker 3 (46:14):
I had sent it to Mike before he even reached his
destination.
Didn't miss him now.

Speaker 4 (46:21):
Here, take a look, we're listening.
Yeah, everybody knows here.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
You never know what animals are out, we've got all
kinds of things happening.
The title of this story isNarrow, ain't so Straight.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
Narrow Ain't so Straight, narrow Ain't so
Straight.
Lookie here I'm going back inthat cozy spot.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
See those.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
Found a dog bed Sleeping in the gutter, took it
to the Texaco Just a scratch off.
Did I play this last time?
This is a new day.
I've been wandering for years.
It's the direction, it seems, striking matches in the dark,

(47:05):
gathering all the dreams.
Well, I'm closing the packs.
It is this goddamn book.
Close in the past.
Man, it sure feels good.
I feel this good and I gotlocked up on a train.

(47:30):
I was waiting on the wind, watched the explosions from a
distance While I held on to thepin.

Speaker 1 (47:40):
And I chewed on some rock salt Just outside Decatur.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
It was his own daughter's fault, who, in the
evergreens, became my friend.
Well, I'm closed in the pastand this is a goddamn book.
Close in the past, man, it surefeels good.
Oh, it feels good.

(48:07):
Well, narrow and so straight, when you're bouncing on that
wire.
Worst critics were silent inthe flowerpot.
He's an old tire.
Close in the past, this isgoddamn good.

(48:30):
Close in the past, man, it surefeels good Cause I'm close in
the past.
Man, it sure feels good CauseI'm closing the past.
This is goddamn good.
Closing the past, man, it surefeels good.
I feel this good.
So I wrote that song after thethree prompts and I used all the

(48:59):
prompts he gave me in that songChasing, waiting on the wind,
closing the pass, and there'sanother minute.
I did that about 15 minutes andit's there, right there.

Speaker 4 (49:10):
He's one of these guys.
He has I don't know how manyjournals I've seen, but they're
already all full.
But he's been writing songssince what?
2008, or yeah, nine About eight, About six eight.

Speaker 3 (49:27):
He shows me stuff all the time.
I learned how to play guitar in2016.

Speaker 4 (49:30):
I'm like damn and I think about that.
Doesn't sound that long ago,but now that already is.
Thank you.
It's crazy.
It's almost a decade.
It's been that long, but that'swhat you got to do and keep a
record of it.
Yeah, have tons of stuff, youknow.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
We know.
You've told him 12 times I know.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
I'll tell him another 1,200 too.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
Y'all remind me of me and Nick, did you?
I'm like no Heck.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
I think even when we were early on for a minute.
I always keep a blank spiral inmy van.

Speaker 2 (50:04):
That's what I do.
I got to have a notebook and apen there.

Speaker 3 (50:07):
Oh, I got mine in there, but I'll give it to
somebody who needs to write shit.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
This one's putting it on a drive and a PDF and a
thing and a pointer and awhatever I'm like.
Oh, I'm wrong.

Speaker 4 (50:16):
Yeah, like I said, you know you, just when you
wanna write, write.
You don't write, don't write.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
You gotta just there.
Ain't no right or wrong, Can'tcome up.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
How long do you keep them in the cube?
So it's right.

Speaker 4 (50:30):
Till I feel good like that one.
I played that song at Fry Highjust out of nowhere.
I just was like you know what,I'm going to play it and people
loved it.
You know Me and Rob Linusplayed Fry High Sunday and it
was a great.
He's awesome.
If you don't know him, go lookup his music.

Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yes, do.

Speaker 4 (50:49):
Super great dude and we just had one of those things
First time we've ever playedtogether.
First time we ever sat down andwe just it was just song for
song, you know Just buckled up.
It felt like it went on forfour hours.
That three hours was quick, butit felt like we were up there
forever.

Speaker 1 (51:03):
Right.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
That's a lot of energy and that's rare.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
Yeah, that was just one of those.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
I was like you know, I was on this other podcast and
they were just kind of asking uslike how do you do you have a
set list?
Or like well, how do you knowwhat song to play?
And I was like every time Iplay somewhere it's different.
You got to read the room.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
You have to read the room.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
Somewhere where I don't feel as comfortable and I
challenged him to play songsthat he wouldn't normally play
in a room that's red.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
Well, I'll tell you from a business owner that is
very involved in the musicindustry and I know my customers
, I know my clientele and I readmy customers and my clients.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
I know them and I know them, and I'm talking, we
have hundreds of thousands ofthem, and I'm talking.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
We have hundreds of thousands of them.

Speaker 1 (52:00):
I am not going to have my rock crew, come in and
have my sentimental break.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
I know exactly and you guys know we set up the
summer list and we play livemusic every Saturday and I have
musicians that will starthitting me up in February and I
know you guys have got to bookyour schedule and I will tell
them straight up.
Look, I am not going to bringyou in to a group that is not

(52:26):
going to appreciate you the waythat I appreciate you because,
then, I'm going to be pissed andthen I'm going to be mad,
because y'all are my family,y'all are my friends and I am.
So you want to talk about acougar being protective over
somebody?

Speaker 3 (52:39):
it's me over, you guys, and y'all know that.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
Y'all seen it.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
You've witnessed it but that's a professional move,
and then we're in a professionyou're in a profession I respect
, that I'd rather hear from aplace.
Hey, you know it doesn't fitour atmosphere.
I'm like oh thanks for sayingthat, instead of me just not
getting 100 emails, you knowwith you guys.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
It's true that and I've told so many is that you
guys could house residencies atthe resort, because every single
weekend it is a new group andthese guys leave and they go
back to h town.
And these guys leave and theygo back to H-Town, they go back
to Corpus.

Speaker 1 (53:19):
They go back to Dallas, they go back to East
Texas.
Yes, we have our regulators.

Speaker 2 (53:24):
And you can ask from when you very first came out
when you were very first outwhen Scotty was very first out
there.

Speaker 3 (53:30):
I saw it.
I played for a general storeright at the top, because you
didn't even have the bottom.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
Exactly, yes, way yeah, right, you just got it.
But people will leave and theygo back home and they just talk
about, and then they'll saythey'll see, hey, mansy's
playing, and whatever orwhatever the place is and you're
playing it, whatever, andthey're going.
Man, I saw him at gypsy Resort.
These guys are the thing.

(53:55):
Boom, boom, boom.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
And then, all of a sudden, it's a beautiful
marriage.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
It just makes my heart so happy.
And there's so many musiciansthat really just don't.
They're like I can't play onRiver.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
Road every single Saturday.
No, yes, you can.

Speaker 2 (54:10):
Amen.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
Yes, you can.
I would love to.
I'll pitch a date right now,you can.
There is no same group thatcomes every single Saturday.

Speaker 1 (54:16):
These people plan a year in advance, especially in
our place.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
They plan a year in advance, but it's, you guys
could literally, I mean everysingle weekend, and it would, it
would just it's, it's it's sogood, and it's so appreciative.

Speaker 4 (54:32):
It comes down here.
A musician, wisewise, hasn'tbeen to New Braunfels.
Oh man, they realize there'ssome just really great.
Nowhere else can you be like aplace like.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
Gypsy.

Speaker 4 (54:42):
And you're playing in the Guadalupe River.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
The acoustics are like nothing you've ever heard
You've got the canyon.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
It's insane.
You see them hawks justswooping against that draft.

Speaker 4 (55:02):
And playing Riley's Tavern and people are there
smoking cigarettes and it's adark dot.
There's just things about it'sa memory by scent here that are
special and it is people that docome visit.
Like you said, they leave andthey can't wait to get back.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
They cannot wait to get back and they ask me they
book a year in advance and theywant to know who's playing yeah
who's going to be there?
Who who's coming, who's playing?
Are you going to bring this oneback?
Are you going to bring that oneback?
And, if not, where are theygoing to be?

Speaker 4 (55:21):
So share your tour schedules for that deal.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
But one thing I do want to say, which is and you
brought it up and you brought itup before is that if you have
never experienced and not manypeople have have never
experienced, and not many peoplehave is the way that you guys
here in our town in raffles, inour hometown is that you guys

(55:47):
can.
You don't know who is it goingto show up at my resort at any
given saturday night.
They may leave green hall, theymay.
Whatever you guys know, I'vegot the bar down there.
You know I've always got food.
It's a home.
But yes, and you guys will showup.
You'll pull out your guitar.
You'll pull out your guitar.
Court will pull up his guitar, eric will pull up his guitar,
jason Allen will pull up hisguitar.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Freaking Cody Jinks will pull up his guitar, who
knows whatever Co-Wetzel,because we can decompress at
your place, we can decompress inour spot, but you guys will all
sit there and never play a tunetogether, never nothing.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
And you will chime in , mitchell will jump on the cone
and bum, bum, bum the nextthing you know.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
You're free.
You've created that environment.
B3 is on the upright.

Speaker 1 (56:32):
You've got the Brady.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
Blacks on the violin.

Speaker 1 (56:34):
You've got the Brady Blacks on the violin.
You've got the.

Speaker 2 (56:36):
Oh my gosh, you have Tiger coming in with his horn.
You have things.
It is the coolest thing, youcannot.
They have to be there, youcannot.

Speaker 3 (56:46):
And it's a waste of your time to try and describe it
.
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (56:51):
It is one of the most amazing things.

Speaker 3 (56:54):
Like going to Hawaii.
You can try and describe it allyou want, but people never know
until they go there.
You know Until they're there, until they experience it.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
We're going to rebuild this.
This uh song.

Speaker 1 (57:05):
It's already started.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
Camp the song.

Speaker 1 (57:08):
Yeah Right, it's time to bring you guys back together
like it used to be back in theday.

Speaker 4 (57:13):
That's beautiful Underneath cypress trees.

Speaker 2 (57:16):
We've got 500-year-old cypress trees
underneath there I had someconversations with her.

Speaker 4 (57:22):
I don't think it would be too hard if we just got
to do it in advance, absolutely.
Last year we were trying tothink about putting on something
similar to this, just figuringout what can we call it.
We saw the In in a jam.
What's it called?
In a jam down by the river orsomething.

Speaker 1 (57:39):
Yeah, that was over here, we talked about that.

Speaker 4 (57:42):
Like man, we can do this.
Yeah, we know a couple people,we know some revolutionary
stories, and that's what myfavorite stuff to do is is kind
of organize.

Speaker 3 (57:56):
Organize chaos.

Speaker 2 (57:58):
I'm the best at it.

Speaker 4 (57:59):
And just bring people together.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
I'm not a plan ahead person you give me two weeks and
I will.
We have people that do weddingsand what have you at our resort
.
They'll call me and they'relike I want to get married in
October of 2049.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
And I'm like wait what.
I'll pencil that down and callme in 2048.

Speaker 2 (58:17):
Call me three days ahead of time, bro, I will shit
the most beautiful thing youhave ever seen in your entire
life.
I mean my gosh.
We did a VIP tent for freakingthe Uno Rios Last minute.
I mean within less than 24hours.

Speaker 3 (58:35):
I recreated the entire deal.
It was so fun.
A lot of people because beingin the career, the path you're
in, the path we're in, we'velearned to freaking,
troubleshoot so quick and notshow signs of distress and so,
bringing something like thattogether you're dealing with
problem solvers.

Speaker 2 (58:53):
I'm going to show mine.
I'm going to be the caulk ofthe wall but I'm gonna get it.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
Yeah, the show might be ruffled, but I'm gonna figure
it out.

Speaker 2 (59:02):
Yeah yeah, oh good, I can go around with a feather,
but yeah, no, I'm gonna figureit out come hell or water.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
Yeah you, you created an environment that is so
loving and it draws.
It draws souls like us in,because we're wanderers, you're
wandering and so you created anenvironment where wanderers can
get the bushes down with thekeys yeah, yeah, come aboard.
Maybe, I don't know tuesdaynights it's okay, but you create

(59:31):
an environment where wandererscan go decompress, relax and
create.
I love it very special it makesmy heart happy.
It really does, it really doesvery, very I love you guys so
much.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
Love you too.
Love you too, that's great.

Speaker 3 (59:44):

awake.

Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Yeah, you're the only one, that's usually still up
going.

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Have you looked at how the stars met the moon just?

Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Good night In the.
We're in the garage, yeah, hey, before we go.
What was this?
Was this where we're supposedto?

Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
Okay, so this is a really cool deal Okay so Kel Kel
is.

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
You know she's my sidekick on the podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
And we have.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
I have.
No, I have my gypsumary, whichis my bullshit, my, non, my
gypsumary.
My bullshit, my nonsense, whichis my words of the day, and I
always come out with some of themost random shit, which is how
you're saying should have recordon way more than we do and ask
Nick when we're traveling downthe road or we're doing whatever

(01:01:26):
the dumbest shit comes out ofmy mouth.
And blah, blah, blah.
It's not dumb.
So Kel was running around andshe was picking and she found
this book and she said this book, if there's ever been a book
about you.

Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
You can't put Scramble Days back in the show.

Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
And so you read through here and I'm like I have
been saying these things since.

Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Yeah, they're regular saying.

Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
Yes, and it is so good, and so yeah, I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
I found very few ones that I've never heard of.

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
I know what were you just saying, while I go okay,
look character.
Good, that feller plows astraight furrow amen, which
means he's an honest man yeah, you just attention all right,
that was a sweet one, let's seethere, you go here.

Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
Let's hear it back.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Come on, come on, mr Poet man.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
What you can't make.
A silk purse out of Sal's ear Icall bullshit.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
But Okay, Mike, your turn.

Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Tell me, I can't do something.

Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Here we go, read one come on, pick one, pick one,
pick one you gotta read it likean accent too.

Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
I trust him.
By.
As far as I can sling a bull bythe tail, that means I don't
