My guest today is Gwendolyn Gulley-Pleasant, author of the book "What Do You Mean": A modern guide to cultivating effective verbal communication and understanding social cues for autistic youth. Gwendolyn has raised two sons with Autism and was called to write this book to help others understand how to help your child navigate this world that may seem foreign to them. We will learn how their analytical brains have a hard time understanding metaphors, idioms, euphemisms and other slang that may seem simple for others to understand. She will also help you all learn patience and not to judge others just because you don't understand them.
