Meet Brev, the Filipino-Chinese content creator who's mastered the delicate art of balancing a 9-to-5 corporate job with a thriving social media presence. With his authentic storytelling and relatable content, Brev has captured the attention of thousands while maintaining his day job in human resources at a financial institution.

Brev's journey into content creation began unexpectedly. After taking marketing classes from Google and LinkedIn, he decided to put his new skills to the test on TikTok—and quickly gained traction. His breakthrough came with his "Hawaii math" video, which catapulted him into wider recognition. But what keeps his audience growing isn't just clever content; it's his refreshingly honest approach to social media.

During our conversation, Brev shares wisdom that contradicts typical content creation advice. "Become the niche," he suggests, rather than limiting yourself to a specific topic. He believes authenticity resonates more deeply than specialization, allowing creators to connect on a truly personal level with their audience. This philosophy has served him well, as he hasn't missed posting content—whether a video or story—for a single day since beginning his journey.

The podcast delves into Brev's multicultural background, his perspectives on Hawaiian culture, and his dreams of living in Japan for three months. We also explore the nightlife scenes across different countries, with Brev offering fascinating comparisons between clubbing in Hawaii versus Japan, where he appreciates the cleanliness and respectful atmosphere despite the revelry.

Whether you're an aspiring content creator, someone curious about balancing creative pursuits with corporate careers, or simply interested in authentic perspectives on island life, Brev's insights offer valuable takeaways about consistency, authenticity, and finding your voice in the crowded digital landscape. Follow him on Instagram and TikTok @brevandgm to experience his unique blend of humor and heartfelt content firsthand.

Yeah, we're talking.
We're just chopping up earlierand you know we're getting the
giggles in and out.
You know what I'm saying.
So it's one of the, it's one ofthe damn episodes today.
Yeah, hell, yeah.

(01:44):
So you're finding this placewas, you know, pretty easy.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, I grew up and lived in Waipahu
and this is in Waipahu.
I was like I know where that is, but it's weird because I've
never been upstairs here on thesecond level my whole entire
life.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
So are you surprised that they have like all these
things on the second floor?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yeah, I was like perusing down, coming down the
aisle and I was like, wow, look, they have salons and like I've
seen the taekwondo I had friendsthat went to the taekwondo
place here but I've never seeneverything else up, up, close
and personal so you saidperusing um, is that a, is that
a local?
Term.
What would that be?
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Okay, okay hell, my vocab, my vocabulary is not
there.
Then shit, yeah, shit.
Well, um dude, uh, you livedhere your whole life yes, oh
snap okay, what's your ethnicity?
If you don't mind me asking uh,filipino, chinese really well
konnichiwa bitches you know whatpart of you is chinese um.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
So both my parents are half half no way yeah so
it's like equal, equal

Speaker 1 (02:44):
so might as well be 100 flip, 100 chinese, you know,
yeah, how's chinese new yearfor you it was good.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Um, I hope that I'm getting a lot of good luck in.
I prayed and stuff and did allthe uh, what do you call like
the things you're supposed to doyeah, to get good luck, but I I
mean, who knows, right, I feellike you create your own luck,
so I'm good oh hey, facts, facts, man.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Um what is it called?
Something fat choy, right?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
uh, yeah, I can't speak chinese or mandarin.
I can understand, but I can'tspeak same thing with filipino.
Like I'm filipino, I canunderstand tagalog and ilokano,
but I I can't speak it, you andI both.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I could understand Ilocano and Tagalog like someone
fluently, but when I speak it,it's all like Ilocano, tagalog,
bisaya, like all gibberish, andall the aunties and uncles are
like what the fuck?
Or they laugh because I'm souncultured.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Sorry, I can still understand you?

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah right, Don't be talking shit.
I'm on that ass Don't do it.
And then, on the outside world, what do you do?

Speaker 3 (03:51):
You mean, like my, 9 to 5?

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah, your 9 to 5.
So my 9 to 5 is you don't haveto go into depth, but are you
like a salesman or something, ora stripper?
I'll think about that, oh, hellyeah.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
So my or something, or stripper or um, I'll think
about that.
Oh, hell, yeah so um mynine-to-five is specifically
like in human resources or intalent development and training.
So I do that as my nine-to-fiveat a financial institution no
way.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
So you say, um like training, um any hard ones or
any like off the wall like girlor guy, you don't have it, uh,
any of those what do you mean, like?

Speaker 3 (04:29):
can you clarify okay?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
clarifying as in um, you don't got the talent or you
don't have what it takes type ofsituation oh, you mean, if I'm
training somebody, yeah yeah, ifyou're training, yeah, um, has
that ever across you where youtrain them and you're like, oh
yo, this is not it uh, you know,to be honest, I there have been
like those thoughts, butsometimes it there might be some

(04:53):
underlying issue.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Oh, yeah, it's going on behind, so I always try to
uncover that or talk to theirmanager um to see if they want
to have, like a conversationwith their employee yeah, if I
feel like they're struggling andit's something else other than
the content, then that's usuallywhen, like, I'll take action.
But there has been instanceswhere I'm like oh, sis, like I

(05:15):
don't know, you know but then II don't want to like the energy,
I don't want it to just be likeyou're done, but it's more so.
What can we do to help you?
Because you're already here, wewant you to be part of here, um
, so, like, what can we do?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
really so.
Is it like a talent agency orwhatnot or something like that?
Or um god, it's on the tip ofmy tongue, but it's do these
people get like like, say, onair or on tv or anything, or
like more behind the scenes?

Speaker 3 (05:46):
What do you mean?

Speaker 1 (05:46):
So is this like the agency that you're or whom
you're working for?
Oh yeah, do these people dothey flourish into, like, say,
in front of a camera, or arethey flourishing behind the desk
?

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Oh, no, no, no, this is like because I work at a bank
, right.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Oh, okay, same lesson .
Yeah, this is like because Iwork at a bank, right?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Oh, okay, same lesson .
Yeah, so I work at a bank andit's a mixture of front line and
back office people.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Okay, Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait back.
I used to work in the mortgagedepartment of a bank and, oh my
gosh, the paperwork that goesbehind that.
Oh, I hated it so much man.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
It's wild.
Yeah, I can get wild in theback office.
Oh, I bet.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Hey, whatever goes on in the back office stays in the
back office.
You feel me In the back officeis.
Have you ever watched theOffice?

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Yes, yes, is it like that?

Speaker 1 (06:38):
That type of I guess.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
No, oh no.
I think the Office is whateverybody wants to say and wants
to do in real life.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I wish yes.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
You know, what I mean , but they don't because
professionalism.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Oh right, oh gosh.
And then you got cameraseverywhere, and this and the
third.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
But they're definitely portraying, I think,
what we're thinking.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Oh yeah, definitely oh yeah, hell, yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
And then Brev you content create as well, yes,
okay.
So let me ask you when youstarted content creating, right?

Speaker 3 (07:12):
how did it snowball to where you're at now?
Yeah, it's a good question, ohthank you.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Thank you, I try, I try.
Sorry this might be like a longJohn Owl, but Let it be long
and let it be drawn Pause.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Sorry, excuse me.
So essentially I didn't want tostart content creating, but I
took a marketing class fromGoogle and LinkedIn and I wanted
to put it into play, into use.
And then, when I took thoseskills and like I tried it out,
I first started off on TikTokand then I kind of blew up on
TikTok and I was like okay, sothe things I learned in my

(07:44):
marketing class worked.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Oh shit no way.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
And then it kind of just snowfalled and I just kept
doing.
I just kept doing it because itwas like fun to talk to people.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Oh no.
No, that's good.
It's great to hear that youstill have the passion in doing
so because this whole podcastthing statistics say that after
the third episode people justdrop off and quit because
they're not seeing the resultsthat they thought that they were
going to get when they startedoh, I see, so yeah so it's good
to hear that you kept on you.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
You kept on being persistent yeah and it's where
you're at now yeah, yeah, Ithink there's like a what is it
called?
Like an 80 20 rule, where 80 ofyour content will not perform
to like the highest level, butthe other 20 will.
So it's like, well, a lot ofpeople just focus on the 80 and
then they get dumbed down orthey feel bad or like they quit

(08:38):
because you know they're notseeing the result they want to
see oh my gosh, I feel you keepgoing, sis oh, oh yeah, hey,
definitely, hey, keep on going.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Because I was a little discouraged when I
started this.
Oh, yeah, and then I forgotwhich episode it was.
No, I remember which episode itwas.
It was one of my homegirls thatwas on and that shit just blew
up on the listener side.
you know it never blew up onlike like, say, the ig or the
views on youtube, but I see my,like, my spotify numbers and

(09:08):
because of that episode it waslike and I was like oh, wow,
well, I'm fitting to keep ongoing on this shit, but I mean,
I actually like love this stuffbecause I'm talking to like
different personalities, different people, and now that I
know how to do it virtually, ohmy gosh, my fucking, my list of
people I want to talk to likeon the mainland and in Europe

(09:29):
and London and all that.
Oh, yeah, dog, it's there andmy shit just went off for some
reason, but I got a backupcamera, so I'm going to ask you
this question.
This might be a little drawnout.
The Hawaiian culture, right?
Uh, the hawaiian culture, right?
Um, you lived here your wholelife from, like, say, the

(09:50):
beginning and like to whereyou're at now.
Uh, since you're like, say, half and half, uh, how was that
like growing up?
Because I'm gonna assume thatwhile you were growing up, they
thought you were chinese, right,or or like were you?
Were you, I mean like, were youmore asian side looking?

Speaker 3 (10:06):
yeah then you know the filipino part I, you know, I
don't know, I, I don't knowlike what.
I don't know what the thoughtsof other people were when I was
growing up.
Should I keep talking or shouldI pause?

Speaker 2 (10:20):
oh no, don't even you know what?

Speaker 1 (10:22):
yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, and then we'll just talk,
uh, I'll just talk to you while,uh, we're motherfucking, just
going oh, okay so, uh, what, uh,okay, my next question is what
school did you go?

Speaker 3 (10:36):
to for elementary school uh you know what?
Okay, high school high school, high school.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
I went to a high school, high school guys down
the road, okay, 94 blocks oh, mypower forever, yes, yes I'm uh
one of my good one, uh my wife'sgood girlfriends, crystal she
was in my papa, and every timewe hang out she was like I'm a
94 block, I'm like'm, like, ohmy gosh.

(11:02):
And then there's people in theguard like that.
So I'm like what the fuck doesa 94 mean?
And then now I'm learning it'sthe zip code.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
It's the zip code.
The last two digits of the zipcode, yeah, or something.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
And then people in Ewa.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
I'm like Ewa boys, 76 South Dog shut up, man, it's an
island.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
What claim shut up, man, it's an island.
What claim are you reallyclaiming?
You know, oh gosh, how was highschool like.
Did you, um, were you like indrum class or were you like a
geek like me that played?

Speaker 3 (11:33):
instruments um high school good room.
No, high school was like apretty interesting time during
high school.
I was what was I doing?
I was in high school.
I was pretty I guess you couldsay academically smart yeah like
I had a good GPA.

(11:54):
I had a good GPA and I was incouncil like student council
like a secretary or president orwhatever.
No, I didn't do like a role, Ijust was like a member.
He was a member.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Oh yeah, she was just a member.
You got to get a benefits outof that, huh she?
Ain't got time for that, sheain't got time for dog stop,
okay, so you were doing that.
Did you play any sports back inthe day?

Speaker 3 (12:21):
in high school.
No no I tried to go intovolleyball but I was like I
can't do like council andvolleyball at the same time.
It was too much.
I needed my like alone timeafter school.
So I can't be doing too.
I can't be staying in campustill five, oh snap okay, so can
I ask you this?

Speaker 1 (12:38):
and um, I don't know if you have the answer, but I
see a lot of, um, I see a lot of, I guess, high school kids.
Right, they're walking down thestreet.
What's up with them wearing, like, the hoodies and these, you
know these jackets, and it's sohot out, like what, like I know
when you, when they take it off, they be stank.
Yeah, they be stank, unlessthey, you know, they don't put

(13:01):
on deodorant.
And then you know, I'm gonnasay like 80 of these kids don't.
Oh, um, yeah, what's up with, you know, kids wearing these
jackets because you know theydon't put on deodorant.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
And then you know, I'm going to say like 80% of
these kids don't.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Oh yeah, what's up with you know?
Kids wearing these jackets?
Because, if you know, if I wasliving here, you would never
catch me going to school wearingthat shit.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Yeah, I guess, like because in the morning, I guess
to the people who were like bornand raised here it's like cold
in the I guess quote unquotecolder in the morning, so maybe
they're wearing a sweater andthey just go to school, and
maybe that's why at the end ofthe day you see some of them
walking home with their jacketjust hanging off their necks.
Oh, I don't know, but I never.

(13:35):
Me too, in high school I washot, so I never wore sweaters to
school.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Good.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
My best friend, though.
She used to wear jackets allthe time.
Like how are you?
Like, how are you wearing that?
It's so hot.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Let me ask you, was your girl stank when she took
off her sweater, Like did youget a whiff?
No, not that I remember, butthere was some trust.
Oh yeah, women stank and menstank are two totally different
stanks.
I'm not going to lie and okay,so this might be a little TMI,

(14:08):
but with guys they smell likeball sweat.
You know, like when you takeoff your underwear at the end of
the day and you're like, ohdamn what the fuck.
And then women stank is I'msorry, like the fish market
stank and I'm like I I cannotlie, but I do appreciate you
know hygiene yeah yes, I doappreciate hygiene and with

(14:31):
hygiene um, do you appreciatehygiene as well?

Speaker 3 (14:34):
oh yeah, definitely so are you uh, uh?

Speaker 1 (14:37):
are you a armpit, um like, do you shave your armpits,
trim them, or do you just leavethem banging?

Speaker 3 (14:43):
no, I, I have really thin hair or fine hair.
Even my hair hair is likereally fine, so I don't like
really shave or anything, because it's like really fine,
so it's almost like non-existent.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
And I'm super blessed for that.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
So what do you think of?
Okay with the guys that shavetheir armpits?

Speaker 3 (15:02):
I see it weird To me it's weird, because I'm used to
you know, I'm used to seeing youknow hair there, yeah, yeah,
yeah, I mean me personally.
I like hair in the armpits,uh-huh.
Not saying that's like a kinkor anything, she just has a
preference.
I don't mind it.
I don't mind either.
Like, do what you like.

(15:26):
Like, like what you do.
Really how?

Speaker 1 (15:27):
about how.
About a hairy chest um, itdepends on the figure like okay,
so let's say um a viking.
Looking you know I'm sayinglike roman guy yeah, if I'm in
the moment then maybe then thehair's there.
Huh yeah, but how about like anaustin power situation?

Speaker 3 (15:40):
where he's just that's like, sorry, go shave,
sis, let's not do that oh, mygod, that's funny.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Um, so I an ick.
For me is like when a womandoesn't shave their armpits
right, I'm okay with the, withthe little stubbles, the little
prickles, but when it becomeslike long where you could almost
braid it like a small braid,I'm like, oh, you know what
you're, uh I'm, so you know whatI'm saying your, uh, your level
of attractiveness just wentdown 20 points and yeah, um, how

(16:14):
about, uh, hairy legs?

Speaker 3 (16:16):
I, I don't really care for the leg.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
You don't care for the legs, I don't uh, yeah how
about toes?

Speaker 3 (16:21):
uh, hairy toes.
That's a little not for meeither, not for you.
How about the toenails though?

Speaker 1 (16:26):
I've seen messed up toenails on the island and I'm
like, ooh, is it disrespectfulif I said, if I made a comment
like, hey, you might want to cutthose before they?

Speaker 3 (16:40):
I don't know For me, I wouldn't say anything.
I don't have the balls to saystuff to other people like that.
It's so hard.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Would you say it to a sis?

Speaker 3 (16:50):
To my friend.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
If it's my best friend, or if it's my friend,
I'm like girl, let's go do ournails.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
That's the subtle way of saying hey, your shit's kind
of jacked up.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Me and my friends, we keep eachother accountable Like we read
each other, oh that's good, that's good.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Are you into tarot cards at all, or anything?

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Or are you into?
No, I think like my youngerself was Really.
Like after high school I waslike into astrology and stuff
like that.
There's a part of me that stillbelieves it.
But I'm not as into it as I wasbefore.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
What's your sign?

Speaker 3 (17:29):
aries, aries, aries, aries, what?
Yeah, my birthday was just lastweek.
Oh hey, happy belated yes, what'd you do?

Speaker 1 (17:32):
um, I went to scarlet .
Oh, I have a funny.
You said scarlet.
I have a guest coming tomorrow, that's that performs at scarlet
, who, um, alex alexa aura?
Oh, yes, he's coming on andhe's coming on a.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
He's coming on full, fully dressed yeah, no, as in
like, as a in drag yeah, wowyeah, she's coming through.
Oh my god, I love him or her, yeah okay.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
So what's what's the proper way in like say, I'm
meeting him for the first time.
Is it what's up man, or what'sup girl, or what's good?
Do I just leave that out andjust be like what's good?

Speaker 3 (18:07):
well, I would probably have a pre-conversation
him, ask him be like, do youlike?
Can we have fun with this?

Speaker 1 (18:12):
yeah, yeah, you know like there's people who are not
so serious and there's peoplewho are more serious about it,
so I would just ask him okay, oh, because I would always wonder,
because, um, I talked to kittypine uh-huh.
And then I'd be like what's upman and she's like oh no and
then no, no, she, no, he slash,he him, uh, they, uh.

(18:33):
No, he was really cool about itbecause he knows, I didn't know
any better oh, and then yeah,we just he rolled, he rolled,
you know, along with it and Iwas like man, I'm not trying to
be on the side note, I was likeI'm not trying to be
disrespectful.
Yeah yeah but what's up, man,and I call every like a lot of
the females.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
I was like hey, what's up man?
Yeah, me too.
I call a lot of girls bros.
I'm like what's up bro?
Yeah, I think you know, as longas people know intention.
Yeah, I mean like you can feelit so, but yeah, I get it.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
it, oh, definitely.
Yeah, with your content right.
How fast do you like come upwith your ideas, like, do you
write them down or is it likeright on the spot?
I'm doing it right now.
Is it planned out?

Speaker 3 (19:17):
I would say 90% of it is just what I'm thinking, or I
just videotape everything andthen I make it into a video.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Oh, really yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
So like with my grocery shopping videos, I just
grocery shop and then I do mycommentary over it.
Really yeah, yeah yeah, or alot of the ones where I'm just
talking in my car, that is likeon the spot, yeah, yeah, do you

(19:50):
not mess up in the car, becauseI tried it several times.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
I'm like dog, I'm fumbling my words fuck this, I
ain't doing this shit no more,no, I just talk.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
I just I just talk, so my like when I record it's
like a 10 minute long video, ohshit, I might repeat something
or say something, um, but then Iedit it down to like a 45 to a
minute long video really yeah, yeah, yeah hey, that's what's up
.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Do you still live with your parents or anything,
or are you on your own now?

Speaker 3 (20:06):
um, kind of both.
So I have a condo, but I rentit out because when I purchased
my condo my dad passed away thesame month yeah I didn't want to
leave my mom alone.
Um so my mom lives here inwaipahu, so I stay with her
majority of the time oh, that'sgood and I rent out my condo.
But my condo I rent out to,like, my one of my good friends,
so sometimes I'll like justsleep over, oh yeah definitely

(20:29):
right.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
I know I have a toothbrush there already.
Why the fuck not right?
That's good with the hawaiianculture, like I've noticed, and
people tell me that they try tokeep family, uh like together,
like not move out and stuff.
Oh yeah, you know, like.
As for me, I'm coming from themainland.
Once you're 18, you're goddamnout you know, I see so it's like
I'm I'm trying to, I'm tryingto understand that a little bit

(20:52):
more.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Oh, I see yeah, and you know, I think it's all very
similar to maybe in like asianculture well some asian cultures
.
But yeah, that's the vibe hereand you see, like these big
houses, oh yeah.
Yeah, so a lot of them livethere.
There's like 10 cars RightOutside.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
I'm like, holy crap, how do these people afford these
cars and you know, these goldchains and get them all lifted?
I'm like, oh, they all live.
I mean I guess their mortgageis like $500 or $400 because of
all the people that's in there.
I'm like wow, holy crap, soyou're a homeowner.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Yes, okay, have you done your taxes yet?
I just did them, like two daysago.
Holy crap, I forgot taxes.
Yeah, I forgot.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
I forgot too.
And then I have an appointmenton Sunday to do those
motherfuckers, oh gosh.
So you have your 1098 andeverything.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Yeah, yeah Right.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Being a homeowner.
Oh my gosh, tell me about it.
Would you ever?
Did you ever thought that you'dbe owning you know, a place you
know, with your name on it, inHawaii?

Speaker 3 (22:02):
No, because my younger self always wanted to
move out, like to canada or toasia, but I, you know, I learned
more about like investments andlike home ownership in hawaii,
so I took the chance and justbought one here, probably use it
as like a rental property ohnice, yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
And then you said canada, what?

Speaker 3 (22:16):
yeah, hey hey, eh.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Eh, why did you say Canada first and not like say
California, new York, texas?

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Oh girl, from a young age I knew like America is very
.
It's such an interesting placehere.
Yeah, a part of me wanted tomove out of the USA to either
Canada or Asia.
It has nothing to do withpolitics, it's just more so like
the vibes.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Really yeah.
What's the vibes in Canada?

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Well, the vibes have changed?
I think definitely, BecauseCanada is also expensive, Like
if you want to live in Vancouveror Montreal or Toronto, like
all the major cities.
This is just as expensive asHawaii.
You know, it's like the sameenergy, but I feel like the
people are different.
The food is like healthier thisis true.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
I could, I could vouch that yeah even in Asia,
you know, like chicken tasteslike chicken over here it's just
like not a vibe sometimesyou're like the fourth person
that said that, because I had acouple friends from Japan Not
from Japan, but they're heretraveled to Japan for like a
week or some change.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, came back andthey were saying that the food
tastes like what it was named.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Yeah, and I was like what he's like.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
yeah, you taste the chicken out there compared to
here.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
You're actually tasting that meat and I was like
what the I need to go to Japanor some shit.
Yes, do it.
You got to go have you traveledlately.
Yes, where'd you go?
Where did I go recently?
I just came back from Japan inFebruary.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Was that during the blossom?

Speaker 3 (23:51):
No, oh, okay, no, I don't go during busy times.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
I like to go like when it's dead and when it's
cold.
Oh right, it's weird, I know, because it's the opposite of
what you know.
Oh my gosh, I love the cold.
I love looking good in a hoodie, yeah, and some long pants or
some jeans.
You know, I'm saying, oh my god, you can't do that shit out
here, no way.
What'd you do in japan?

Speaker 3 (24:12):
uh, this round we just stayed in tokyo and then we
ate.
I just wanted to eat a bunch ofplaces and then went skiing.
I mean I don't ski, my otherhalf skis.
But yeah, we just did that.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
So in Japan did you have a chance to look or come
near that forest?
Which forest?
The suicide forest?

Speaker 3 (24:35):
No, that's like about two, I think two, maybe one
hour, one to two hours away fromlike mid-central Tokyo.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
I've never went, no.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Really yeah, I'm so into the paranormal like that.
I would love to visit that andjust be like oh sick.
Wow, yeah, how's the nightlifein Tokyo?
That's where you were stayingright.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Is it a vibe like how ?
It is the way they show it onTV?

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah, what TV show are you?

Speaker 1 (25:01):
referring to.
Oh man, I'm talking about, likePBS Hot, Damn Fast and Furious,
Touch it.
I am so dead yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
You know, the clubbing scene I think in Tokyo
is one of the best in my opinion, because there's like other
places right.
There's like Ibiza, there'sFlorida, miami, there's Malaysia
places right there's Ibiza,there's Florida, miami, there's
Malaysia even, or Taiwan if youwant to go clubbing.
But I like clubbing in Japanbecause the energy is better,
the people, they get drunk andthey party and stuff like that,

(25:31):
but they still have that respect.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Japanese people are so respectful.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
So it feels clean when you're out partying versus
when you're out somewhere else.
It's smelly, but in Japan it'snice.
It's just nice, it feels clean.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Did you have any Japanese locals talk to you in
their language?
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Did they think that you were?
Oh no, oh no.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
No, not like that.
My other half, though, he'shalf Japanese, half Filipino, so
he, yeah, people talk to him.
Oh, he's fluent, yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Oh, lucky you right.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Hey, this is what they said about you man.
You better pay him, you bettergive him that motherfucking tip.
You know, yeah, it's funny thatyou say what's it?
Taiwan or whatever, because meand my wife we're binge watching
White Lotus.
Oh, I haven't watched it Reallyit's really good.
It's really good.
It's a lot of twists and turnsand they were showing this last

(26:28):
episode that we've seen theywere clubbing in.
I think it's Thailand or Taiwanor whatever and I was looking
at it I was like, wow, it is amotherfucking vibe and I don't
know like they could be totallylike hyping it up.
But shit, I want to go clubbingin that you know type of joint
and speak to some hot damnRussians and Europeans and shit.

(26:49):
Oh man, when you go clubbing, are you more of a social
butterfly when you're whenyou're clubbing, or is it you
and your other half just y'alltwo digging the scene?

Speaker 3 (27:03):
It's a little bit of both.
I feel like it's half-half.
I feel like I'm more socialthan he is, but there's parts
where we just dance.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
It's not like half-half, so does your other
half get?
I'm going to say a littlejealous when you're like, say,
talking and mingling with theseother folks, because it's mostly
with women.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Oh, with girls girl, with the girls girl, oh okay.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Has your girl ever hit on you?
Yes, Okay, okay, how is thatlike?
How do you like say, turn thatdown?

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Oh, I just tell them, like know, I'm gay.
Oh, just like that, sis, yeah, but I'm like nice about it oh,
yeah, so, and they're like oh mygod, I'm so sorry, but this
only happens outside of the usyeah I guess because you know
men outside the us like they use, actually use makeup and stuff.
So maybe that's why I don'tknow.
I don't know, but it hashappened oh snap, and these

(28:02):
women?

Speaker 1 (28:02):
they're not embarrassed or anything.
They don't go.
Oh my god, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
No, no, no, it's definitely not vibe like the
same vibe that you would gethere everybody's just friendly.
That's why I wanted to move oh,okay, okay.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Do you see yourself moving like anytime soon, or are
you trying to get yourselfestablished out here and then
dipping out?

Speaker 3 (28:22):
No, I think next year I'm going to try to live in
Japan for like three months, because that's the maximum you
can live, or you can stay inJapan with your regular passport
is three months.
So I'm planning to stay therefor three months.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Are you going to try and find a job or are you just
going to just live out there andsee how it's like?

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Just live out there and see how it's like.
Oh nice.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
By yourself?
I mean not by yourself, but doyou have family out there or
anything?
Or are you just totally goingwith you and your partner?

Speaker 3 (28:49):
No, it's just actually going to be by myself
Wow.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
But I have friends there in Japan, oh.
So I mean, I don't want to relyon them though.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
I think it's more so like do I want to actually stay
here for a long time?
Or like buy a house orsomething there.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Really Trying to see.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Yeah, just kind of feel out the energy.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, anywhere else in the eastern side of the world
that you want to like, say, visit or live in for a couple
minutes uh, I thought about thephilippines oh, wow because I
mean, yeah, I visit philippinesand japan like a lot.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Uh, philippines, it's up and coming, you know, it's
like manila, especially manilaarea.
Yeah, it's like it's nice.
Actually it's just super busy,um, but I don't mind that I I'm
kind of dabbling between the two, but we'll see where like what
happens um, your mom is she.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Would she fly back to the philippines or would she be
staying here?

Speaker 3 (29:49):
I feel like she would stay here because, to be honest
, the medical or like medical,uh, or the hospitals are just
better here oh yeah america, that's like something.
So she's older, you know.
I mean so she's more concernedabout her health I heard japan
health system is pretty good.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Would you?
Would you bring her out tojapan to live with you for those
three months?

Speaker 3 (30:11):
I don't think she would I don't think she would.
Yeah, no, she's not.
She's not gonna do it and she'slike hell, no, yeah oh man, um,
what do you do for fun, man?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
if you don't mind me asking like what, what is an
interest and hobby of uh?

Speaker 3 (30:25):
breath me, yeah, yeah you um, I don't know, like
right now, like this weekend,I'm staying at a hotel.
So a staycation, yeah, I thinkthat's it.
Eating Food.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Ain't nothing wrong with that.
That's it, oh, okay.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
I just hang out, I just chill, like yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:44):
Like, you don't like rollerblade or anything, or you
don't, no, oh really.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
I think the social media part is like taking a lot
of what I didn't even have a lotof hobbies to begin with from
before.
But I didn't even have a lot ofhobbies to begin with from
before.
You know what I mean.
So this is my hobby.
I guess you could say it's thesocial media part.
Oh, really it's also becoming ajob right.
So it's kind of like that'swhat takes up my 5 to 9 after my
9 to 5.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
So you're on your phone a lot, then yeah, like
let's say after yeah.
Does your partner say anythingabout that?

Speaker 3 (31:19):
does your partner say anything about that?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
like babe, you're on your phone a lot.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
It's my me time.
Oh no, no, no, no, I'm reallygood at balance.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
So, okay, okay, that's good yeah, it's pretty
interesting.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
Yeah, because, and plus um, what do you call?

Speaker 1 (31:29):
yeah, I talk a lot about balance and stuff like on
my social media so I I, I thinkI'm really good at balancing,
but who knows, I never reallyasked him is is he, is he deep
in the um, in the contentcreating too, or is he like off
that he just has his friends onthe ig and yeah?
Okay, that's good yeah, couldyou uh okay, this might be a,

(31:50):
you know, a toughy one could youuh be in a relationship with
someone that is doing contentcreating as well?

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Oh, that's a good question.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Because both of you, you know, would be on your
phones, both of you would bedoing your own thing, Like,
would there be like somefriendly competition, or would
it be like, oh, you're taking myshit, or whatnot?

Speaker 3 (32:14):
That's a good question.
I mean, I think I could.
It just depends what happensafter, like how we approach it.
Yeah, yeah, I think I could, itjust depends it just depends,
like I'm like, when I'm thinkingof that question, I'm thinking
of certain, like people outthere yeah and I'm like I don't

(32:34):
know, I'm trying to think likehow that would be.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Okay, so let's say, someone like we both know,
bretman Rock.
Okay, if you was dating aperson with Bretman Rock's
following and everything and hehas to consistently do his thing
.
You know, to make ends meet.
Are you able to be in arelationship with him or not
with?

Speaker 3 (32:55):
you know the actual Bretman, but someone Like that,
yeah that's a good question ornot, with you know the actual
bread man, but someone with yeah, yeah, that's a good question.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Oh hey you know what my, my, my, my, your freaking
welcome world.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
You know what I'm going to say right now.
I'm going to say yes.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Yeah, yeah, I'm going to say yes, yeah, that's it
nothing going into it, yeah,okay.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Oh, as for me, um, and uh, people has asked me this
, uh, this question too, I thinkI can too.
Um, I don't think 20 year oldme, wasn't I, I think I'd be
like jealous, like, oh, whoyou're responding to?
But then, older me, now it'slike oh, I'm responding to you
know this person, because youknow it's like it's an
engagement yeah, right yes, andthen with the whole um like like

(33:43):
, say, going into dms orwhatever.
I understand that that's howpeople like get the requests in
oh yeah, you know, becausethat's how I did it with you.
And then there's again.
Then there's people with uh,you know, with the emails too,
I've been doing the email thinguh secret copy and paste.
You know I change the word herethere, but chat gpt, you are

(34:04):
the one you know chat gpt, yeahall right, yeah, so yeah, I
think, um, now I can, but backin the day I don't think I would
, I don't think I would totallyunderstand.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Yeah, that world, you know yeah, yeah, that's why I
think.
That's why it was kind of hardfor me to answer, because I was
thinking like right now I'm inthis stage where I'm learning a
lot from my old self andapplying it now.
So I'm like that's why I'm like, yeah, I think I can.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Because, just like you, my younger self probably
would.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Yeah, how naive we were.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Like oh my gosh, and how naive we were.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
Like oh my gosh.
So you and I were both inHawaii Creators.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Yeah, yeah, how did you get into it?
If you don't mind me, you know, like put it out there.
How did you get into it?
Because me it was just like Ijust threw my shot and they're
like, hey, okay, come on in.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Oh, I feel like it was Coach Darren that asked me.
I think he DM'd me, telling melike what this is all about,
what are the benefits, what theydo.
So I was like, oh, this is cool.
And I was like, yeah, sure,I'll come in.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Oh, like that, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Has any of your things you knowyour content ever like say, did
they ever message you?
And say, hey, that shit isinappropriate.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Please stop sending us these things.
Oh, who hoi creators?

Speaker 1 (35:23):
yeah, no you lucky bastard.
No, hey, they be on my ass whenI'm swearing.
That's why I think you knowwhat I think it is, or like just
the?
Um, what I'm putting out thereis just not, I guess not, uh, hc
content friendly.
Oh, I see I'm like oh god, butyou know it's, it's just out

(35:45):
there, it's a good topic yeahlike it might I have to call
myself done, because I'd be madas shit.
You know, I'm like what the fuck?
Like I think it's cool, buty'all don't think, man.
And then I'd be seeing otherpeople posting like something
very similar to the same thingand I'm like, oh, come on, dude.
Oh well, it's okay.
You know, it's all good, butthe way I joined HC was Gavin

(36:12):
Kampai.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Oh, uh-huh.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
He was just like hey, man, just fucking do it.
And I was like do what?
And he was just like hey, man, just fucking do it.
And I was like, do what?
And he's like, hey, just, youknow, throw in an application.
And I was like, bet, you know, mind the fuck.
Like, because this is when Istarted this.
Oh, you know like I've beenwith them like ever since.
Yeah, like I met some of thefolks there you know pretty cool
, yeah, you know pretty coolfolks.
Um, they did ask me, uh, like,oh, are you hawaiian or whatever
?
Because the talk right, andit's like totally different from

(36:38):
you know, I guess, the way theyspeak.
So it's just, yeah, there'slike I'm not going to say a
language barrier, but they doknow that I cuss a lot and I'm
just like, oh, man, I'm sorry,I'm trying, but man, I just I
can't help it.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
I used to cuss a lot too in my videos.
I can't help it.
I used to cuss a lot, too in myvideos.
And then yeah, and then I waslike uh, Not as friendly, huh.
No, I wasn't getting checks, so, oh you, I gotta stop swearing,
oh man.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Hey, if they ever check you, man, let me know so I
can be like man.
See, I'm not the onlymotherfucker that don't like say
you know on tiktok and ig, likehow did that?

Speaker 3 (37:22):
snowball to where you're at now.
Oh so, tiktok, I I think theshoot.
What video was it?
Oh it was the like hawaii mathvideo, because there was this
trend going around about likegirl math so I did, like a whole
of a math, a take on it yeahand that's kind of like what
blew me up both on tiktok andinstagram oh, really yeah yeah,
there was videos before thatyeah that were like gaining

(37:43):
track that gained traction, butthat I think that was the one
that like put me really put meout there, yeah dude that story.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
I like it because you you had videos prior to that
right Content prior to that, butit took one for you to get you
know that traction right.
Yes.
So that's dude.
Everyone, just keep on doingyour shit you know, yes, yeah.
And then can you tell me thiswhole niche thing?
So I'm getting people aretelling me like, oh, find your

(38:14):
niche, find your niche.
And I'm like dude, I don't wantto find my shit because I still
want to do these other avenues.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
You know, so can you explain that?

Speaker 3 (38:22):
Yeah, for me.
I don't.
Me personally, I don't believein a niche.
I feel like you should.
You should become the niche.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Because people nowadays, people human
interaction, whether we know itor not, um, because we have so
much technology.
So the more that you're able toconnect with people on a really
personal level through yourvideos and your content, I think
the better.
And that means not a niche, because when you look, when you
meet somebody, they're not justlike one, like she's not just a

(38:51):
barbie, and I mean she, she's anarray of everything.
She has all these emotions.
People have emotions, so becomethe niche, like, just be who
you are, I think, and just dothat.
But people are like, oh, it'sscary, because people are free
to be judged, right, um, sopeople, usually what happens?
A lot of people pick a niche,um, and they just focus on that

(39:14):
because it's doing good, right, but your audience won't really
know who you are if you juststick on, stick on that one
particular topic.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Yes, I feel you.
I feel you Like thetransparency of it all.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Yeah, but it really depends, right?
If you want that, if you justwant that, then that's fine.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
But if you want to just be able to be yourself,
then you got to be your actualself, you know, yeah I mean
that's like that's the best, because being your actual self
yeah, it's you're not faking thefun you know, and watching your
videos, I'm like, oh, I knowwho I'm getting on.
You know I'm saying, yeah, Iknow what made you start um,

(39:52):
like your own pot, like what?
What was going through yourmindset when you wanted to start
your own pod?

Speaker 3 (39:57):
My podcast.
Yeah, oh, okay.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
She's like oh, I forgot, I had one.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
No, yeah, because I just did my first one last week
and I'm kind of learning how tomake it better.
But the reason why I wanted tostart is because I talk a lot in
my stories and I do like askBrev once in a great while where
people just ask me anything andI kind of wanted to like.
I love doing that, but I knew itwas too much to put like just

(40:23):
on my Instagram stories yes so Iwas like, let me do like a
podcast where people can get toknow more about me and be on a
personal level, be more closeron a personal level.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Yeah oh, prior to this podcast and you starting
one, have you ever been on, beenon one?

Speaker 3 (40:40):
Mmm, I've been on a radio podcast, but that's about
it.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
Oh really, yeah, but just you know A Joe Schmo
podcast.
This is your first.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
I'll be happy to pop that cherry.
Yeah, oh, I'm popping thatcherry boy.
Oh man, that's funny, that's sofunny.
Uh, you went to college outhere.
Yeah, I'm assuming uh no you'refucked at high school?

Speaker 3 (41:03):
no, I went to college for one semester and then I
dropped out so that one semesteryou learned all this marketing
thing.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Uh, marketing thing.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Oh no, no marketing.
I only learned like back in2023 uh-huh yeah, um, but in
college I went to college forone semester for fashion, um,
and then I took a full-timeposition at my old job and they
were like, oh, you need to befull-time.
So I was like, oh, this is likea good amount of money let me
just quit school.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Oh, yeah, yeah, do you see yourself going back to
school?

Speaker 3 (41:34):
uh, I did I actually.
Oh hello.
So yeah, I actually went backto school.
I did, I actually went back toschool.
I got my associates in business, really yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Okay, you and I were talking about marketing earlier,
this marketing thing that youdid to grow your let's say to
grow you yeah, what was it?
Or is that a secret that youcan't be saying out loud?

Speaker 3 (41:54):
No, okay, what was?

Speaker 1 (41:54):
the marketing technique, yeah, for people that
wanna well.
So, essentially, like I love to, doom scroll what you want to
what I love to doom scroll.
What's doom scrolling like justjust scroll all day?
Oh, I learned something okay.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
So I found that about .
I found that out about myselflike long time ago, right with
tick tock and instagram andreels and stuff.
So I was like what can I doinstead of like doom scrolling?
So I like wanted to know howare these videos so effective?
Cause I'm a geek sometimes so Iwas like how are these videos
Like?
How does it get like this muchlikes and this much comments
Like, so there must be something.

(42:30):
So I took a marketing class andthen yeah but I would say, like
it's just starting and beingyourself, like I think a lot of
people get caught up on, likethe editing, how it looks like,
how it has to sound, like highquality.
Just start posting.

Speaker 1 (42:46):
You know what I mean?
Really, that's the secret Justpost, post, post, just post like
consistently.
Oh.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
Yeah, I try to post every single day.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
If I don't then I post more of my stories, like if
I can't post a video,Interesting Every single.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
I haven't missed one day where I didn't post one
video or one story.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Yeah, so like just Wow yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
And you know, right now there's so much competition,
I guess you could call it or alot of other people who are
trying to go on social media.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Peers.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
Peers to go on social media, peers, peers.
There's a lot um and you know,if your goal is to like go, go,
really, really, really huge andbig you're, you're fighting
those people, just being honest, you know.
I mean, if that's your goal,because it's like a, if you want
to treat it like a business, then you got to treat it like a
business, yeah, yeah and there'sa lot of things these colleges

(43:35):
don't tell you about business.
I I mean sorry, so I feel likeit's the same energy if that's
your goal.
Social media yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Yeah.
Really good words oh my, I cango off girl.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
Go off, yes.
Clubs in Hawaii.
What do you dislike about theseclubs in Hawaii?

Speaker 3 (43:57):
I think my video spoke for itself about how a lot
of them play like edm musicwhich is don't get me wrong, I
used to love to go to raves inhigh school, sorry, yeah, I used
to love to go to raves like inhigh school and like a little
bit after high school.
But I love like early 2000s,like club music, like 50 cent,
little wayne pitbull, everybodyyeah like.

(44:19):
I like to like freak and liketwerk, whatever you want to call
it, you know, just like dance.
Uh, the edm is too much.
It's too much sometimes oh,majority of the clubs here do
play it, but there's some thatplay really good music, yeah
that's what's up um.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
I've been to uh district okay, and I'm like, I'm
not a big club guy yeah sobecause district has that video
game plays, you know, on theother side, yeah, yeah, I'm
stuck there, I'm drinking myshit and I'm stuck because I go
with my friends.
You know you'll never catch meyeah going by myself, yeah, or
whatnot.
Um, I've been to to eve.

(44:58):
He was pretty cool eve, oh evenalamana yeah, like uh, my girl
nohea invited me to go out ohthat was pretty cool yeah, yeah
and then there's this other oneum, not district valor, or
something oh, valor is not ait's not a club.
Yeah, people tell me to goor, but it's, how can I say this?

(45:21):
I heard it gets super crowded.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Yeah and I hate shit like that.
Yeah, it gets lit in there andit's weird because you're in a
food court.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
Yeah right.

Speaker 3 (45:38):
I'm like go for it go for it.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Um, when you're like, say you and your partner are
out and let's say man or womancomes up to you know both y'all
or one of y'all and says, hey, let's have a drink together, and
you say no, do you?
Can these women take no for ananswer or have that?

(46:03):
Has that ever happened to you?
Like what?
No, no.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
You know I usually take the drink.
I'm so sorry.
Oh good, so I never turned downa free drink.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
Oh good, that's um so yeah, I never turned down a
free drink before, so when?

Speaker 1 (46:20):
you're out right and you know you have this.
You know big, you know thisfollowing yeah, are you noticed?

Speaker 3 (46:27):
Um, I think nowadays, like I noticed within the past
few months, there are peoplelike, more Like.
I think, the more my followinggrows.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
It also.
I see more people in personthat notice uh um, but yeah, I
feel like in the past few monthsit's been more, more common is
it?

Speaker 1 (46:43):
is it?
Does your partner find it weirdthat people are staring at you?

Speaker 3 (46:48):
because I still find it weird.
Oh really, I'm like, I'm notused to this yeah, how do you?

Speaker 1 (46:53):
how do you handle that, like as a, you know, as a
person, like yeah, are you?
Brev or can I take a picturewith you?
Yeah, like, how, yeah, how doyou handle that?
Like you know as a person, like, are you brave?

Speaker 3 (46:57):
or can I take a picture with you?

Speaker 1 (46:57):
Yeah, Like yeah, how do you handle that?

Speaker 3 (47:00):
So I just say, yeah, sure, but the thing is like I am
more shy in person than I am oncamera, like I'm definitely a
lot more comfortable on camera.

Speaker 1 (47:07):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
Or like in one-on-ones like this to get
back to my car yeah.
Or, like you know, just doingwhat I need to do out there, and
I forget that I am even onsocial media sometimes, and then
some people say hello and I'mlike hello oh.
Oh wait, oh my God, Dog bitch.
They're like sorry yeah.
And they're like oh, are youBrad?
I'm like oh my god, did I comeoff as rude?

Speaker 1 (47:46):
yeah, like, like you have an rbf or something like
just man, my mission is going tothe car.

Speaker 3 (47:51):
Oh shit, oh sorry yeah, and I walk a lot with my
sunglasses and my sisters alwaystell me like you look like a
biatch when you like, and I'm anAries, you got that stroll
going then.
Oh my goodness Like it's notthat, it's just more so like I
get caught off guard.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
Wow, that's crazy.
Yeah, oh my gosh.
So recently, um, this past week, I had, uh, I was doing this,
uh I was doing this exercisewith the military and I was
working with folks from Maui, and then so some of these folks
I've never met, but one of themwas like hey, are you that dude?

Speaker 2 (48:24):
I'm like dude there's a lot of dudes.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
You got to like tell me he's like no, are you the
podcast guy?

Speaker 2 (48:30):
I'm like oh, yeah, yeah, I was like dude, I
appreciate you listening man.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
So you know that hyped me up a little bit.
So when people are like talkingto you and like trying to get
your picture, is that stillweird to your partner?
Is your partner?
Like all for it, or he's likewhat the fuck?

Speaker 3 (48:49):
No, no, no, no, he's for it.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
Okay, that's good.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
If anything, I ask him.

Speaker 1 (48:53):
Is he the one that's taking the picture?

Speaker 3 (48:58):
Yeah, I ask him, is he the one?

Speaker 1 (49:00):
that's taking the picture.
Yeah, I'm like, can I take thepicture?
I'm like, oops, sorry, oh man, that's too funny.
What'd you do last week?

Speaker 3 (49:05):
Last week.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
Yeah, no, this past week that just happened.
What were you doing?

Speaker 3 (49:09):
Oh, I was just working.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
Oh girl I was working and recovering Recovering.
Were you sick.

Speaker 3 (49:15):
No, no, no, I was just partying a lot last weekend
.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
Last weekend.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
Yeah, because it was my birthday it was my actual
birthday, and then like Iusually celebrate the whole
month every weekend, so like, yeah, so I was just kind of
working, just recovering doingvideos grocery shopping.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
Oh, I bet what's your drink of choice.
A tequila soda.
Tequila soda.
What the fuck is it?
Okay, what's the soda?
What's the?

Speaker 3 (49:39):
Oh, just club soda, like water club soda.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
Oh Like sparkling water.
That's good together.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
Yeah Well, I just love the taste of tequila.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
With like a lime, and then it's because water, if you
mix like sugar and alcohol, that's what makes you hungover
or contributes to a strongerhangover.
I guess you could say Really soI just drink water a lot when
I'm drinking.

Speaker 1 (50:03):
You're not the only person that said that, because I
do have a friend in the guard.
She drinks tequila and shechases it with water.
I'm like that's freaking weird, you know, when I first heard of
it.
And now you're saying that, ohit's, you don't get the hangover
tomorrow.
And I'm like, holy crap, I'mlearning something yeah, tequila

(50:26):
is the only alcohol.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
I think is the only type of liquor that is derived
from agave yeah not a grain.
So green turns turns into sugaror glucose.
So that's why beers, andusually browns, make you
hungover.
When I drink tequila, I don'tget hungover.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
I just learned something again.
Yeah, it's great.
What the hell See, I'm a bigHennessy drinker.

Speaker 3 (50:49):
Oh, okay, yeah, I love tequila and Hennessy.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
I don't discriminate, but so what's your favorite
tequila?
Have you ever tried the?
What's it called, the CasseAzul?

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Am I saying it right, casse?

Speaker 1 (51:01):
Azul, yeah, the one with the bell.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
Yeah, that's not my favorite.

Speaker 1 (51:05):
It's not, it's not Okay, so the hype is not real
then, because I've always wantedto try it.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
No, yeah, my favorite is like a resposado.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
Resposado okay.

Speaker 3 (51:16):
Resposado is like the browner the brown.

Speaker 1 (51:18):
Is that the one with the worm in it?
They usually have the worm init.
Oh, no, no, no, no, oh okay.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
It's like a strain.
I think of tequila.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Uh-huh.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
So I like resposado, or I love Don Julio Blanco.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
Don Julio, okay, yeah , is it, or is it just straight
up?

Speaker 3 (51:34):
I like it If I'm taking shots of it.
I like it chilled, Okay yeah.

Speaker 1 (51:37):
Have you ever had warm tequila?

Speaker 3 (51:39):
Yeah, of course, or warm oh duh right Stupid, we had
all of it.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
Oh, my goodness, yeah , I've had, we'll say, warm
liquor.
My gosh, my stomach couldn'thandle it.
I was like, oh God.

Speaker 3 (51:51):
Oh gosh, I am straight.
Yeah, you definitely need toeat before if you're going to be
drinking warm liquor?

Speaker 1 (51:57):
Hell yeah, what do you do afterwards?
Like is there like a go-to spotafter a night out of drinking?
Where does Brev go toafterwards?

Speaker 3 (52:06):
7-Eleven no, if it's a Friday, I go to like Kay's
Bento in Waipahu.

Speaker 1 (52:13):
Is that 24 hours, or is that open till super late?

Speaker 3 (52:15):
No, so they open the night before because they're
open in the mornings to selltheir bentos but they open the
night before to sell theirchicken and it's like fried
chicken with like soy sauce.
It's so good yeah.

Speaker 1 (52:29):
Also.
That's the only place you'll goto afterwards.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
Oh no, if anything, if I'm in town and if Keith's
Bento is like out of thequestion, then I don't know
McDonald's Jack in the Box.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
Ah, you do that.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
Something that's like fast food.

Speaker 1 (52:42):
Fast food, yeah.
Are you religious in any way?

Speaker 3 (52:45):
No, not really, no yeah.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
So are you doing this Lent, ash Wednesday, good
Friday type of situation?
No, no, no, no, that's good foryou.
I gave up fast food for Lent.

Speaker 3 (52:59):
Oh, that's good so.

Speaker 1 (52:59):
I was like oh my gosh , but man, I love me my Big Macs
.
So I'm just like damn man.

Speaker 3 (53:03):
Do you see any benefits on your health?

Speaker 1 (53:05):
I do actually Like I'm sleeping a little bit better
With not eating fast food.
I'm doing like I'm walking alot more so like I'm balancing
out with not eat.
So it's like a give and take.
Uh, I'm not eating fast foodand I'm doing like an exercise
every day, whether it's likepush-ups, sit-ups or just a good
you know walk around two orthree blocks or whatever yeah so

(53:30):
that's what I'm doing.
So, uh, I can't wait till.
Uh was it easter, so I couldpound on like fuck three, four
fucking big macs.
You know, I'm saying yeah, holylord, I could pound on like what
was that?
What fuck?
Three, four fucking big macs.
You know what I'm saying yeahholy lord, I'm, I'm, I'm with
that, I'm with that.
What's your go-to meal?

Speaker 3 (53:43):
at where mcdonald's uh, anywhere, anywhere.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
Like I'm feeling for something, I want my favorite
hot damn dish, bro, I'm fittingto make.
Do you cook, by the way?

Speaker 3 (53:52):
hardly oh shit.
I mean, I try, hardly oh shit.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
I mean I try, but it's not the best.

Speaker 1 (53:59):
It's good enough for me, right.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
Yeah, okay, but yeah, what's your go-to Like?
Right now I'm craving like locomoco.
Really that's not my go-to, Ithink that's yeah.
No, that's pretty much my go-to.

Speaker 1 (54:13):

Speaker 3 (54:13):

Speaker 1 (54:16):
Loco mooco, yeah, loco Moco.

Speaker 3 (54:18):

They closed.
It was B&L in Waipahu.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
B&L.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
Yeah, it's like L&L, but they closed and there was
something about it.
It just felt so like it tastedhome cooked.

Speaker 1 (54:41):
Really I loved it.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
I loved that vibe of it.

Speaker 1 (54:43):

I've never had that yet on the island yeah and I had
my fair share of loco mocosyeah, I mean, there's good ones
out there.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
It's just like I hate it when they try to do too much
, like grass-fed beef andorganic eggs with brown rice.
I'm like, no, you need to dolike a classic loco moco yeah
and just keep it classic, likestop trying to make it blue oh,
definitely right, like likethese restaurants like they're
made.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
