instruments, he's in collegeright.

He's been featured on themotherfucking beat table with LA
Y.

(04:43):

Wherever this gentleman is, man, he's rocking the crowd.
Man, and I love the way that heis coming into his music and

(05:05):
just giving you his art.
Man, he's not copying nobody,he's not like you know, just
putting out Google.
Man, this guy's got something.
Man, he's got two albums onBandcamp, man, baby Steps one,
number one, and then Baby Stepsnumber two and Baby Steps number
two.
Man, that's another level upman.
So we definitely going to talkabout that.

(05:27):
But, man, listen, I want youall to welcome the one and only

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you First and
foremost.
First and foremost, thank youto my brother Goldamon.
With the rep, you know podcast, man, you'll be doing some
beautiful things for thecommunity for real, but thank
you all for having me.
Man, this is a beautiful.
I'm thankful for all theopportunities I've been blessed
with, such as this one also, man.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Thank you for having me.
Hey, man, it's my pleasure.
Man, yo, just to put that forthe internet, man who might not
know, like you are just gettingstarted, man, you haven't even
scratched the surface on yourmusic abilities, man, your
performance abilities.

(06:24):
Like yo, man, I feel like youjust tapping into a new
superpower and you just learninghow to like master them.
Yeah man, yeah man.
So okay, listen, man, jet.
First of all, how did you evencome with that name?
You know, for the B heads thatmight not know who you are, man,

(06:46):
Like what is that?
What does jet lag Trev mean?
How long have you been makingbeats and what associations and
collectives are you a part of?

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Alrighty.
So first and foremost, I gotjet like Trev I got to, probably
started going by that name orjust had that name in mind circa
like early 2000s, like before Ieven really started doing music
on a serious, intentional, likenote, and my brother and I back

(07:21):
in the day I was most most ofthe homies and just about
everyone that makes music or hasbeen around music Just used to
kick, you know freestyles, listening to beats back in the
day after we listened to whoeverwas making stuff back in the
day that we was messing with, and my brother and I, oh yo,
like we got to have some names.
You know if we're going to bekicking, kicking versus and you
know your freestyle.
So at first, like before allthe beats and before I even had

(07:45):
like a guitar in my hand, youknow I had a bass in my hand
Just my brother and I kickingand he was like yo, one by two
different names that were, likeyou know, a little tacky and I
was like you know I'm going todo no top hat, no high top,
nothing like that.
You're not going to play onwords of you know high tech,
nothing like that.
So just some original my.

(08:06):
I've been blessed to travelenough in my life.
So I've experienced jet lagenough and I'm hoping this is
well the way the music hastouched me.
I'm hoping to be able to havemy music touch people all across
the globe.
And you know, so jet lag, youknow, trag kind of just came,
came in about with my brotherand I just tie into words
together and yeah, that's juststuff, and fast forward to like

(08:32):
10, you know, almost eight yearsafter that, when I actually,
you know, started picking upguitar and bass, I was like all
right, this is cool, but I stilldidn't really have a reasoning
for me to have that name be, youknow, you know, intentionally
used.
Yet so it was still just, youknow, travis, my name, my, you
know my name, my birth name, travis Farnham, and eventually,

(08:54):
you know, kicking it with T andyou know, joshua and other other
homies.
Throughout like circa 2015, tolike 17 heavily, right after
high school, I was kind of likereally emphasizing just like
learning, like the fundamentalsto an extent and how to get

(09:14):
around with the guitar and likethe base.
And then I remember, like myfirst little income tax return I
got, I copped my first base.
Well, ivan, as, and yeah, started like just messing around
with that.
I used to originally startmaking cuts off of a garage band
and then I really wasn't toocomfortable with the flow.

(09:35):
So I was all right, let's go,like start, you know, just
making some stuff with like FLthat was blessed to be around,
like people like, like I saidonce again, t and black, god,
you know all other homies thathave been around that were able
to give me a, at least a basisand run down on how to you know
function to it, and then youknow, so that you know.
Then they said, just let theimagination, you know, take over

(09:56):
.
And from there I just startedmaking beats.
I'd say like trying to justfind you know how to you know,
first and foremost, function youknow the programs I was messing
with and then, yeah, justincorporate, you know the bass
and guitar stuff that I enjoyand I was like developing over
time and still just holding into.

(10:17):
Like you said, I'm still justbarely touching the surface and
I'm thankful that people areenjoying and appreciating what
I've put out so far and what I'mgoing to continue to put out.
But, yeah, so still just tyingin a jet lag and what I was
originally doing, one of themake sure.
When I first started having myname tied into jetlight travels,

(10:37):
the beach I was doing I'm aheavy like record collector.
I have like a stupid collectionso I try to incorporate you
know random, you know cuts andyou know loops here and there
and having fun with that and Ilove the human like expression
at times, so we'll have themlike just conversations.
I picked up whenever I'veobviously had to consent to

(10:58):
friends with conversations we'llhave just shooting the shit or
in jam sessions and just takingstuff and plugging it in here
and there with whatever therecord, with going for and you
know, just having stuff likethat so I make sure of all that
type of stuff eventually led tome wanting to create the series
of baby steps talking to thehomies like, all right, you know

(11:20):
you're not really just do thehomies remind me and I just not
intentionally making you know, you know sounds you kind of got
something going so you should dosomething.
And then, yeah, picked up offthe people around me so I
probably drop something to getpeople idea of what I've been
working on.
And yeah, just decided babysteps because as we all are

(11:43):
doing, you know, taking babysteps towards where we want to
grow and be at.
So this, the series is a seriesof like, fully, you know,
thought out ideas as well ashave thought out ideas as a
means of whatever the feelingand whatever my mind and I was
at consciously at that time.
So, time that stuff into, yeah, that was the series and I'm

(12:06):
thankful to have experienced, you know, the birth of it around
like, uh, I'd say like thebeginning of lockdown really
created me to like catapult meto want to, you know, do that
intentionally.
You know, you know, craft allthe sounds towards that and yeah
, uh, continuing with that stuff.

(12:28):
Uh, to now just eventually drop.
I wanted to drop more stuffbecause I have a lot this is
unfortunate.
I have a lot of sounds thatjust like kind of in the vaults,
but it's just kind of groupingthe thoughts and the feelings
together and continuing torelease it with the baby steps
in mind, as well as otherprojects I have.

(12:49):
Uh, I wanted to release overtime and um and then time
another conversation you'resaying with, uh, uh, collectives
I'm a part of, as of right now.
Uh, just a love supreme.
Uh, bang them.
Yeah, love my guys, all thehomies, uh, just deep, you got.
You know packs christian.
You know black guy Frank.

(13:09):
You got you know my guy Splash.
You know Dom.
We got, yeah, everybody blackguys in this.
We got so many people on theroster many, so many new ones
delente, like all the homies arecrazy, you know, I mean, uh, my
guys are longer like crazy withit.
Everyone's doing the thing Tlike, uh, I'm proud of everyone

(13:30):
and they inspire me on the dailylike burn the tophery, just
come on, um.
So all the homies around mejust remind me to like, just
level up.
I need to.
You know, get on my shit.
Uh, I was also reminding myselflike I'm also like, uh, you
know, a full-time student, afull-time you know.
You know personal life as weall are balancing, you know

(13:52):
school work and all that shit weall are, and just, you know,
reminding myself, all right, Ineed to continue to level up and
get this shit going over time, over 9000 over 9000.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
Rex Mason.
You shout the Rex Mason man,but you know, shout out the.
What's that?
Dragon Ball Z.
Right, is that?
that's what I'm from yeah, shoutto my my you know my Dragon
Ball fans, y'all there, you knowyo, man, yeah, your first of
all shout out to you and yourbrother for coming up with a
dope name, um, but then also youlinking with, uh, you know, you

(14:29):
know, just coming up, I thinklockdown for a lot of us, man,
was really like a nudge toreally just you know what, man,
this thing I've been thinkingabout doing, yo, let me just do
it, man, I ain't got nothingelse to do, let me just go
forward and do it.
You know, I'm saying I thinkthat was a nudge for a lot of us
literally literally yeah, manand um, I'm glad you did, man,

(14:51):
because I really enjoy yourmusic, um, I enjoy what y'all
put out um from the crew as well, and you know seeing y'all live
performances.
Now, when he's talking aboutwhen, uh, when jet lag is
talking about internets he'stalking about I love Supreme
California man.
This is the crew of like theAvengers of beat making yo, like

(15:12):
yo, man, like yo you.
All right, let me see, let me,let me make sure I got this
right.
You got Bernatopia, you got yougot tine soft.
You got black god nine.
You got jet lag trap.
You got um.
You got splashy is.
You got ze lente, you got um.
You got um low tech, I mean onedollar tech is.

(15:36):
Thank you now thank you happybirthday, thank you.
Yeah, yeah, I say that, thankyou also.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
I saw packs, so it's crazy.
All right, I'm gonna cut you up, brother.
So it's always.
I got reminded we had crazybirthdays this past week, slash
month, we had packs, it's alonger and uh, thank you all in
the same week.
As long as you have to duck, girl.
You know all the homies.
There's a few other homies thathad birthdays around there,
slipping my mind, but yeah, it'scrazy birthdays around there

(16:04):
wow, man, yo, so many yo.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
Happy birthday everybody, man, I'm aquariums.
Yeah, yeah, man, and um, ohwait, uh, rex Mason had a
birthday.
I think Jay Hershey had abirthday.
Uh, man, who else had abirthday?
Man, it's so many, yo, it's somany of y'all, man, but yo, man,
yeah, um, but, yeah, man, that's that's the crew man, I

(16:27):
think was drive to herce, a partof y'all crew too.
One more time drive to hers.
I don't, I don't think.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
So that might be, I don't think so I have to hop the
head and I don't think so.
I know, uh, when we, firstwe're starting, shout out to
brother who knows young JT, ill, ill, ill cat.
He was originally going to be apart of it but through your
life he wasn't able to be uhlike able to commit, but he's
super ill a shot, so everythinghe's doing, but that's another
member.

(16:56):
That kind of like forconversation was possibly
brought up.
Um, and then we got obviouslybrother and Nightmare Pictures
productions with all this crazycamera work too, who was, uh,
not on the music tip but heplays guitar and is nice with it
too, but he's more focused, from my perspective, on the uh,
just directing tip.

(17:17):
He got his degree and it justbeen going crazy with doing work
with all the hummies yeah, focus on the visuals.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
Yeah, yeah, but don't don't, don't, let him.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
Don't let him downplay him.
Though he's crazy with theguitar, he'll say.
He'll say a lady, he'll lady.
I'm like.
Yo say no, bro, you can't.
Don't pull up the guitar yeah, okay is.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Is Enlightenment picks the one that's doing
y'all's like um y'all videosthat y'all are putting out right
now for Love Supreme California.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
So as of right now, the most recent ones that have
been seen as um brother, joshua,he's also been tapping in with
his uh visual arts, uh tip, Ibelieve he's been, yeah, he's
been.
I don't know that camera, buthis camera's nice.
He's been using but that'swho's been uh getting the
caption, everything that in thatshit.
Recently too, he's been, he'sbeen doing that thing.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Shots of the brother black guy wow man, black guy,
nine man you in the BTS, all, the, all that wow, man, yo, I
love, I love the videos, man, Iknow everybody's like coming in
y'all kind of like putting ittogether as well as like this um
, you know y'all discovering newmutants out there and he's

(18:31):
breaking the mentally the schoolof the same.
Yo, yo, I love it, man, I loveit.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
That's what the expert 97 man.

Speaker 5 (18:40):
So yo, I gotta ask this man um, you said you you
played bass, man, how did you, when did you decide, like you
know what man, I want, to pickup bass and start learning it?
Um, and how long have you beenplaying that instrument?

Speaker 3 (18:57):
I'd say I first wanted to pick it up.
Just hearing a lot of stufflike growing up, like for a
conversation I've been diggingsince before even like really
picked up an instrument.
So having a lot of instrumentsbut any of the ill basics you
know, I mean uh, and inspired meto want to pick up eventually,
you know, like a uprightobviously I'm out there yet but

(19:20):
initially I immediately fell forthe basic fundamentals and I
was a happy guitar, have a, havefun with that.
But let me pick that up.
And this is both uh circle.
Around 2015, I was gifted aguitar from one of my
ex-girlfriends and then a nicemicrophone I still use to this
day, and then with another, yeah, I would say with my tax return

(19:44):
, my first tax return I caughtlike after high school.
I was like, let me pick up abass.
And also, I want to.
I'm a heavy connoisseur games, let me buy you the game.
So I bought xbox too and so, uh,so I got the bass and then
didn't really intentionally havethe what I'm doing now and
still working towards the way Iwant to be in mind yet, but I

(20:07):
wanted to have that my arsenalto.
I have the tools around me andI can still build with it and,
you know, work with whatever.
And then, just after this iswhile I'm over on um, on campus,
in the dorms over in Cal State, san Marco, so I'm like, all
right, let me on my downtime, let me, let me see what's good
with it.
And then my roommates like yo,I gotta get tired too.

(20:28):
So they're always trying tomess around with the sounds and
then, after all, you knowwhatever type of drum loop in
the background.
And then, well, I startedpicking up the bass and then
just trying to get funky with itand then, yeah, eventually,
it's all right, let me onceagain.
Circa 2015-17, I was like, letme really focus and kind of like
get a better understanding.
And I'm still trying to get thebest understanding.

(20:48):
I'm not the best with theory, but I want to get a lot better
with it.
Uh, just with how to workaround it, um, and have fun with
it.
You know, if someone asks likeI need a bass line.
How can I work on it and thenget that going and that's.
That's been a lot of the funjust over the years, just
evolving and getting a betterear, understanding, you know how
to, you know where's what youknow.

(21:09):
I mean, uh, work on my wayaround everything and just
having fun with it.
And also, yeah, just just thatpart, just when I'm trying to
grow around myself, just havefun with it because I'm not
having fun and you take a stepback and, like yo, I'm not doing
what I initially, you know, picked up the bass for you know,
I picked it up to have fun andthen eventually, when I have a
the best understanding as I'mstill growing, inspire folks the

(21:33):
way I've been inspired.
I've all the illicit that I'vebeen blessed to hear or be
around, which is, yeah, that'sthe pretty much all that man,
have fun everybody.

Speaker 5 (21:43):
Y'all hear my man, yo have fun, yo, you gotta like,
you gotta have fun, man.
That's a major component whenit comes to your uh, your
expression, man, whether it bein music, art or writing, or you
know visuals, whatever it is,whatever it's going to be, man,
you gotta have fun.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
You know, that's major, major key you just
dropped right there, man facts, man if you know, have a fun,
take a step back, go read a book, go spend some time with your
family, love ones.
We're blessed to have them gooutside.
You know, do something.
We drink some water dosomething man.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
So okay, speaking of families, right?
So, um you, well, let's, let'sask this question.
When you were growing up, whatwas being played like, what
types of music are being played, and you know who was who was
playing this music and exposingyou to these different

(22:39):
variations of musical geniusesthat we have now?

Speaker 3 (22:43):
man, oh, dang, both my parents have been blessed.
I have, you know both them.
You know, raised me around avery like various, like wild,
you know, genre of selection, alittle palette I guess you'd say
um grew up, you know, anywherefrom like Anita Baker to you
know the stylistics, to, uh, youknow, sam Cook, to some Chopin,

(23:07):
some lists, some, uh, you know, hubbard, uh, lonnie Liston
Smith, um, both okay, I comefrom like a diverse background
like black, mexican, nativeAmerican and French, uh split
between both my parents.
So having, um, like both ofthem have their elements like a
lot of Latin stuff on my mom'sside.

(23:28):
So, like I still have some ofthe first records that actually
inspired me to dig was like ahandful of like Latin records,
some old like R&B records, uh,like some Peter Frampton uh
random stuff on my parentsgifted me and I was like you
know what, let me, let me startthis actually like, uh, how do
you say this?
I'll be and take it as likeeventually, one day, you know I

(23:49):
mean in the homies, whoever aremyself, uh, you know Craig, like
uh, you know, uh, the businessside of me, you know, exporting
the collection I have or sometype of stuff like that, um,
yeah, both, both my parentshonestly blessed me.
Everything like you know, knowwhat Jones like, uh, anything
like every yeah, I can't eventhink of anything I rush like I

(24:10):
haven't really like was exposedto the basics not so like that,
because I know some peoplereally exposed to it like
everything you could imagine forlike the various hits from all
the various genres I would say Iwas thankful to be exposed to
and it was like a very biasedlike you can't listen to this or
that.
It's like if you like this rockwith it and I was blessed to

(24:30):
like if you know you, you know, you know, yeah, you want to do
something you like, do what yougot to work towards it and then,
you know, you know, get it like.
I've been always had thatmentality.
Like all the equipment I have, the vinyl I have, other than
like the handful I've beenblessed with my parents like a
few over the years I caughtmyself heavy equipment I caught
and with the intention of likeyo, it's the intention, it's an

(24:54):
investment and there's just somuch stuff with it.
It's like it's a piece ofhistory and I'm really trying to
get to break it down, likewhether it's digging with the
homies at record shops and justreading, spending hours just
having them out.
Can you throw this on so I canhear it?
And then just reading thelinings liner notes and just
like, oh, this is who's on that.
Let me go check out other shitfrom Reggie Workman or some Mon

(25:16):
Carter like what are they doing?
And that kind of like helped meto get a better like taste of
all of me.
Take some crazy ass riff fromlike I don't know some David
Newman on some like fucking, I'mover digging through my shit.
That we'll do Like some RonCarter David Newman makes with

(25:36):
some Paul Desmond I don't know.
Throw on some I don't know JawsGiants, like the young Jaws
Giants chefs out to that too.
That also inspired me at ayoung age Like hearing, even
though I was older than theywere obviously older, like a
young Kamasi Washington andthunder cat and like all these
cats going to school and highschool killing it and like yo,

(25:57):
even though I mean they had alot of like history and family
behind.
That was like influence.
But the homies they wanted torock with and like build with,
solidify.
This is what we want to do whenwe run with it.
That's what they didintentionally and committed to,
and that's what they've beendoing.
As we see, all of them have abeautiful thing and that's what
I'm thankful to be around withall the many votes, not just
immediately.
It loves to paint, mother, butlike all the collectives that

(26:19):
around this are so many of themin like for real burgers and
beets.
You know LDC, ll.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
Like they're shooting JDC records.
Excuse me.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
JDC.
You know what I mean.
We got beat cinema.
Like there's this dummy of themLadies love loops, like
everything around this duckworld.
All the homies over here, thisis my beats over in San Diego
doing for crazy shit.
Like there's a bunch of stuffand then shots out to the homies
that like Matt EJ and them thatallowed us to mainly

(26:47):
specifically to have my firstshow over and lockdown to be
with yeah, you have that name, that should be dope, be able to
rock and be on the platform forthat Cause.
That helped me to be like allright, people actually want to
hear this.
And then, like I'm gonna get theshit going to drop in that
conversation you're askingearlier the intentional time so

(27:08):
from around 2015 to 17 was likelet me get jiggy with
understanding the guitar bass.
And then 2018 to like 20 wasgetting nice with the bass, and
then from then on was all right, this is like beats with bass
and then beats adding bass, andalso I don't do too crazy but I

(27:30):
fiddle with the facts and likethe aerophone and stuff and
incorporate that here and thereand then, oh, there's a lot of
random stuff around the house, like you know, try to have if I
can add into it some crazy shit, but yeah, just not, not.
I'm not even limiting your, your, your sandbox.
You know what I mean?
Right, there's this endlessstuff around you Like there's
cars just driving by me rightnow.
If I have my outdoor mic, Ihave that money for I sit here

(27:52):
and just catch that and justyeah, I don't know, it's
beautiful man.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Yeah, man, yo yo yo, yo, yo yo yo yo, yo yo yo.
That's great, yo, first of alljust doing research, man, yes,
your, your dad or your mom?
I think your dad is a veteran, right, A Navy veteran, yes, sir.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Yes, sir, shuss up to my father, you know.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
Yo shout out to your pops, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
I did a lot of traveling.
All traveling as a kid.
All over.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
Yeah, yeah, I was personally born.
I was born in Corpus Christi, texas, lived there for a bit.
You lived through some tornadolittle floods, moved to North
Carolina for a little bit, thenwent to Virginia, stayed in
Virginia for a minute you knowthey had like a little hurricane
out that way and then we movedto, we drove from Virginia to

(28:39):
here and on like like Riverside, like San Bernardino area, lived
there for a minute and theneventually came to like where
we're at now, like Menacea, between you know, temecula and
Marietta, all that stuff forpeople that know the area.
And then, from like then on,I've been here and then I was
exposed to a handful of homiesthat I was able to grow with, to

(29:03):
have solidified the friendship,to know that the fuck is up and
then continue to have fun.
It's dope.

Speaker 5 (29:09):
Yeah, man, yeah, shout out yo, yo shout out to
your dad, man, for and you andyour mom and your other siblings
that may have been a part ofthis whole military journey.
Man, we know it's crazy onfamilies.
You know what I mean.
We got to start all over oftenand you know what I mean.
But just the experiences thaty'all get, man you know, just

(29:31):
traveling around the world andstuff like that man, it's
priceless, yo Shout out to himhe did 20 plus years, I believe.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
Shout out to him he did his time.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
So I'm thankful for him and, yeah, yeah, enjoy that
retirement man, yeah, I saidchill out, yeah, enjoy your time
off.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Man, yeah, man.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
Yeah, so okay, I gotta ask you this, man, because
you know you having a crazyvinyl collection.
You know what I mean you beingexposed to all of these
different genres of music, man,and it's opening up your mind
and expanding your musicalpalette.
Well, first of all, what areyou using these days in order to

(30:14):
create music?

Speaker 3 (30:17):
I'm usually running through.
Just FL equipment-wise I havelike my little Mac was like I
just recently was invested in anew Mac because, well, m1,
because my old one just bit thedust.
So we got that.
Got my little new Mac, I run itthrough for the records, got
the SP I need to get comfortablewith and learn how to really

(30:39):
make in the box and outside thebox with.
But all channel stuff is thatfor when I'm recording in-house,
you know, exporting through myJBLs.
I got my Ibanez.
I have little jazz series.
I got the little basic, thefirst one, I got the white one,
then I got my 16.
I got a few little guitars.
I got a let's see, I'm messingwith it.

(31:02):
I have two sacks.
I have a Alto and then I have abroken soprano that the homie
gave me through a good build.
I need to fix that.
And then the Aerophone.
So just that's the main stuffyou'll hear like incorporated.
And then you got like theM-Audio little keyboard for my
MIDI.
If I'm just messing around withdragging and dropping and

(31:23):
cutting and all that stuff, let's see.
Yeah, that's about it.
You should just, really shouldbe simple, nothing too crazy.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Nothing too crazy, yeah, yo, but what you do with
it, man?
You make these tracks like singman.
So, man, I mean, the number onething I keep hearing you say is
you've invested.
You're investing in yourself,man.
You invested in, you know, learning the bass guitar,

(31:53):
learning the sax, learning musictheory, investing in new laptop
you know what I mean so you cancreate.
You know what I mean.
Investing in music and like, where did who gave you that
mindset in order to just investin yourself, man?

Speaker 3 (32:08):
First of all, obviously, my parents.
You know God for blessing mewith all the random individuals
around me that I've either beenhow do you say a lesson for me
to observe, or a lesson thatI've experienced with or myself,
but mainly just yeah, myparents really placed a great
foundation.
I give so much thanks God forblessing them to have like

(32:30):
investment in different you knowhow do you say different
allocations in life, not just inlike one specific place, like,
oh, wealth and financially, butyou know, with like health, with
you know longevity wise, likewith family, like how you invest
in your time.
You don't want to just be arecord-holic, obviously money's
dope, but you don't want tocommit to not even nine to five,

(32:52):
like a five to like 10, I don'tknow and not be able to have
time to actually be physicallythere, mentally there with you
know, your loved ones while youhave them.
So invest in stuff like that.
And then, obviously, theconversation of what you do
spend your money on.
Hopefully, you're making surethat it's something that you
don't have to.
You know, flip.

(33:12):
You know there's a lot ofrecords I have that could easily
flip for crazy, but it's justlike it's not for that.
It's like what, what do youwant from it?
Like, what are you gonna dowith it?
Like you sit here and you knowI collect manga, collect, you
know, figurines, like stuff likethat, like that's personal,
like investments, like it makesme happy.
So stuff like that remind menot just to do stuff for like

(33:35):
external reasons, like I have tolive, make sure I have
investments that you know, support myself and stuff like
that and have, you know, hopefully, uh, you know, backup
savings for any day, stuff likethat.
But understand, I'm investing inlike my you know, happiness,
like I could die tomorrow.
So not be too worked up in thefuture but have a balance.
So I didn't thankful to be.
You know well, well verse have.

(33:56):
I don't read too too much allthe time now, but I I try to
read as much as I used to.
So Just reading, being aroundpeople watching stuff, you know,
just learning from my older, the family and loved ones is
what helps me learn and kind ofHelp gauge where I want to be
and what I want to do with mylife.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Yeah, so I'm blessed.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
I'm thankful.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
Yeah, yo shout out to your mom and dad, man for, and
the people you've been a blessedto be around, man, just
instilling that, that mindset inyou, man, because that's super
important.
And and I want the internet toknow something man like um, you
are allowed to, like, do whatmakes you happy.
Yeah, you got to take yourbusiness, especially if you, an

(34:41):
adult like you, got to do theadult thing Pay your bills on
time, you know, go to.
You know if you got a job, youknow do you do your best at your
job.
You know, um, feed the family, stuff like that.
But then also you're allowed tocreate another world outside of
um, work, you know I'm saying, and enjoy life, um, because that

(35:04):
was another thing that wasmajor when we had the pandemic
too.
Man is, you know like, what isworking all of these hours and
having money, what's it?
What's what the fuck is it forthen?
Yeah, I mean, you can't enjoy it, you know so yeah um, but yo I
gotta ask this question, um,because you know you're, you

(35:29):
know a young gun and you're also, you know, in college and you
know, I'm not sure if you haveyou're in full-time or have a
job or anything like that.
But yes, sir, what would besome advice you would give to
somebody that's, you know, goingthrough that right, they may be
in high school, um, you knowmaking beats, or you know, get

(35:49):
ready to go to college, or youknow, get ready to get a job and
Stuff like that.
What would be your advice tothem, um, in order for them to
Stay on the path and keep, keepcreating, because you know jobs,
job, school it takes a lot ofenergy, man, so majority of the
time it's after school, it'safter work, it's after, you know

(36:12):
, studying and stuff like that, and where you get to create what
you want to create, you know.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Yes, sir.
So for that I'd say, first andforemost, learn to just accept
failure early as a given basic, like messages I was given.
And also, you know, don't be ina rush to like Grow or also to

(36:39):
get whatever it is you want, because obviously the cliche
should, the journey is all whatit's all about.
But it is so mainly tying intobalancing life, college school,
all that type of stuff, and uh,so I'm full-time student.
I tested some I close, workingtowards my business
entrepreneurship degree.
Um, yeah, we got like what?
Six classes I'm taking thissemester.

(37:00):
I got a few more semesters forI get my bachelor's.
I got a?
Uh, associates and sociology.
Uh, business, business ethics Iwanted to teach originally but
switched over to business and wedoing that to tap it in with
the music side.
Um, so, full-time student, IWork full-time over at target.
I'm like pay setting and likerunning different apartments at

(37:23):
times or running the floor aswell, as you know, maybe helping
in specific departments in theIndian.
So I'm from out at school doinghomework or going to school to
go straight to work.
I'm doing that or that and thenwhen I finally get some time,
you know, eat, kicks, kick alittle bit with the fan and all
that.
So that's love.
But Learn how to balance yourtime wisely.

(37:44):
You know, don't be too focusedon once again, like all I need
to have this right now.
Um, like focus, like it's okayto like Not get what you want
when you want it, if that makessense, because, um, that's
something I had, a how to getpast, and definitely nothing.
No, there's so many littlelessons I want now I'm just

(38:06):
turning 27 a few months ago andthen not the time with so many
lessons like Get rid ofcomparison out your mind, like
there's no race.
Just like, whatever it is youwant to do, it's never too late
to do something like if you Like, if you picked up an instrument
, you picked up, uh, uh, how doyou say a trade of talent?
Um, you went to school and youdropped out or whatever.

(38:27):
There's no issue with you knowrestart, I mean picking up and
learning what you know,reevaluating, reevaluating.
Well, what happened?
How can I work from the past towhere you are now?
And, you know, get to where youwant.
Just take the time.
You know, really, like I'velearned over the time I've been
reminded to family friends writethis shit out, like physically,
like Write it out.

(38:48):
That kinesthetic energy helpsget that like that stuff really
manifested.
Speak it aloud, you know, um,cut out a lot of the bullshit.
Focus on what you're listeningto and watching, because that
plays a good mind of what you'refeeding yourself outside, what
you're physically feedingyourself.
Read a book, go exercise, drinkwater.
So that that's the main thingsI can say.

(39:09):
Spend time with your loved oneslike you have them and your
friends and they don't.
Don't take every day you havefor granted, even if you know
you're tired or something andsomeone says yo, let's go do
something.
Or you know fan wants to go seea movie and you know you're
like man, I gotta do this orthat.
There's just balance yourpriorities.
There's so much lessons in life.

(39:30):
But yeah, that's that's, that'sthat's that can give you that.

Speaker 5 (39:34):
Yeah, man, yo shot it .
Yo, let me, let me snap that up, man, I got snapped that.
You just gave them crazy gemsright now, man, um.
So, um, let's, let's talk aboutyour music, man, because, um,
you've been a part of some somepretty dope Um projects and this
is just.
I probably just scratched thesurface doing research.

(39:55):
Um, on you, jet lag, uh, driveman.
But, yeah, thank you, thank you, thank you.
You've been a part of um, man, you've been a part of the
resonance uh external by uh,black and soft, which is like
the collab between black guynine and and tdot.
I'm soft man.
Um, you did a.
It's called a solar chambertechniques man.

(40:16):
That during was fire.
Um, you see.
And then you were also a partof um a nap in portland by black
guy nine on a track called life.
That was dope Um.
And then you got you know babysteps one.
You also did Um.
You also did uh a track for youknow release to grow to the

(40:41):
beat tape by uh, by you and tdot, um, that was like 2020.
I think y'all came out withthat one, um, that was dope.
And then I just see keep, keepgrowing, man, you man did the
number one track.
I mean, this is just right now, man, but I'm pretty sure I'm
gonna have a number one favoriteof yours Come, you know, soon.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
But yeah, definitely that's.

Speaker 5 (41:03):
but but the track you did for uh, and that's the
force from the tree, ep.
Oh yeah, tdot and the love ones, the soul's stature, that's
shit, it's fine, I was right, that was a fun way.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
That was a fun one.

Speaker 5 (41:21):
Tell me, tell me about that track, man, because
that track is Wow, yo, that'sone of my favorites off that.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
I Appreciate, appreciate man as one of the
main people I uh, you you willhear him get brought up often
because he is a person just likethe homie christian
enlightenment pictures I grew upwith since I was a kid when I
first grew up and moved tomenophe, I had christian was my
first like kid, as a, as alittle elementary grade school,

(41:50):
and then I met t and around thattime.
So I have a lot of these likeMemories spent with them and
this is beautiful forconversation.
I tie that in there becausethis is the first project I
believe the three of us actuallyhad been up like put ship shit
together and you know, releasedit, uh, and yeah, it was the

(42:10):
session, was Lily, just uskicking it at t's just you know,
uh, uh, a lot of the time iswe're just jamming.
A lot of herb is being puffed,no spliffing tins and uh, you
know having fun and maybe youknow some wine or something,
something, something classy, andyeah, just Going through a
session and they're like yo,let's, let's jam, all right,

(42:32):
we're jamming.
And then you know we flippedone of the.
That's just like.
I think it was a freddy huggerlike Ron Carter.
Who else?
is on that, john, you had justthis stack.
Yeah, uh, hubert law, it's likeit was a heavy one and he was
like all right, it was good withthat that.
Uh, I think it was a sax orthat, uh, the flute that kind of

(42:56):
led it.
And then we just, you know,we're jamming and played the
strings behind it, it just onsome faded shit and it like all
right, that shit sounds cool.
And then you know, you know, totea, don't just stay with the
drums and then get crazy, as youalways be doing, and then just
helping to piece together thecuts.
And then the mix was beautiful.
And then, yeah, I forget whoit's on the mix.

(43:18):
I believe is either joshua orpatch, from not mistaken shots
of the your boy pecs crazyengineer.
Um, I for the who was be awhoever did, whoever was fake.
The shit Sounded nice.

Speaker 5 (43:33):
Roboto, yeah, roboto stooped, the kid stoop.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
Oh, I'm wrong, she's me.
Yeah, my bad, that's it yeahyeah, stoop kid Nick Roboto.

Speaker 5 (43:43):
And then track four was a deal.
I'm on some ice shit.
The other soul yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:50):
Excuse me, my polys family butchering that one.
No, it's good, yo, that's aboutall the homies too.
They killed that shit.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
Yeah, man cuz the oldest soul, roberto Lou nae,
travis fun, travis Farnville, and then I think, yes, just
y'all want on that that firsttrack, man, but that first track
of Emmett the force from thetrees EP is it just says the

(44:20):
rest of the the EP off, man,it's forward tracks.
But I was like yo man, like weneed more of this, because it's
definitely don't you know, meanlike that?
I didn't get a cassette beforeman, so hopefully I can get a
cassette when y'all we up.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
But no and that no, appreciate you for running me in
that conversation.
I forgot to after for the fullconversation of how it got, you
know, jammed out.
That got jammed out and then itgot sent and Bounced around all
throughout, motherfucking us,all the homies.
And that's what's anotherbeautiful thing with how
Everyone be doing.
It's happening with all partsof the coast and you got the

(44:57):
east coast, got the Midwest, yougot the south west coast, you
got homies over in like Tanzaniaand like the UK Tapping in for
these, this project and thenother projects and that song
specifically.
It's crazy to think about that.
I mean, really think about that.
Like that damn.
This is a lot of like outsideof the conversation of like love

(45:18):
supreme Avengers, like there'sso many other, like Like justice
league type shit, like othertype of conglomerates that are
already by been sub-sub-drawn,love fucking suicide.
I don't know any type of youknow squad.
You got the, the Illuminati andnot not level, but on the
intelligent ones, the smart ones, right.

Speaker 5 (45:42):
Yeah, that was yo, that's in the crazy one, but yo.
And then you know you cominginto, you know baby steps, the
very first Baby steps, and thenbaby steps to.
You came out with January 2023,right.
So the evolution of your, yoursound, man, between from the

(46:03):
very first baby steps, the babysteps to, and the way you start
off with your mind, is theweapon.
Like that, that conversationwith the music man is like man,
I'm you.
It's definitely like a hook, like you hook somebody with that
first track and then you justenjoy the rest of this, it's,

(46:24):
it's, it goes so fast, like but, but, but the but.
The album goes so fat, like youdon't even know, like cuz you
just enjoying the music.
You know I'm saying like it'sso good man.
So what?
What do you attribute your, your evolution of your sound
from baby steps, the first one,to baby steps to?

Speaker 3 (46:50):
Mainly Just exposing myself to more life, literally
taking the time to not just formusic, for conversation They'll
do some other stuff like forcomp, like there's a lot of
times where those ideas were forconversation, the end of
lockdown and like the end of thereopening into like will, will

(47:11):
for conversation and All right, like if I'm getting like beat
block, which is, you know, to anextent, something I'm gonna
just take a step from whatever Ihave in this, go outside and
maybe go smoke or go go for ahike with the homie and you know
, I'll maybe just happen to havelike for that conversation.

(47:31):
Really, that I recorded, haveus this, what we normally to
record, conversation, and justthat happened to be a random
thing, that I was like all thison fire and then, alright,
piecing it back together andjust, yeah, being able to be in
the world, reading, taking thetime to really understand the
equipment more and the, theprogram I'm using, fl.

(47:54):
I don't use anything else otherthan FL.
And yeah, learning from thehomies around me, they, they
don't, they don't, daddy saythey don't Breastfeed me.
You gotta, you gotta, you gottafind your own sound in the old
name and that's the beautifulthing, like I, I personally,

(48:15):
from my opinion, everyone hastheir own opinion.
I don't think Any of us reallyhave, and I love supreme having
like oh, everyone sounds thesame, like.
Everyone has their own feelingvibe and I'm thankful to have.
I still continue to find my ownsound and hone into it.
But, yeah, just Build off oflike as anyone, they're all like
to an extent, we learn from ourenvironment, so a lot of that

(48:39):
mainly play to him.
Just, are you telling me how tohelp make this better?
Aren't perfect?
Oh, this is like how.
Like this is a plug and thatwould be nice for the base.
I'll build off of that.
And then that better stuff likethat.
It is beautiful.
And then, yeah, literally justtaking the time to just a kid in
a sandbox is experimenting.
So when I do have breaks outsideof school work, taking the time

(49:01):
to, you know, have hiccups andyou know mess up and like oh,
that mess up actually might bewhat I want to use now for like
a song a month later.
And yeah, just learning stufflike that, not once they're not
being too serious, even thoughlike obviously always can get
worked up.
They're like yo, what, what islike what?
I'm just gonna have fun andthen eventually, like, when I'm

(49:22):
intentionally trying to dosomething, don't limit whatever,
wherever that feel is going ifit's not going from.
You know, if I have to say, ifI wanted to go one way,
obviously learning to not, youknow, just limit it to where it
could go.
Like, no, I can go anywhere IfI want to have this thing that I
didn't expect to like, maybe wehave the progress out

(49:43):
differently and then may smashnice, but some keys or something
or some flute, i'ma let thatplay out more as opposed to
introducing the base orsomething like.
Like that would have been notsomething I would have initially
wanted to do, like a year agoor two years ago, but I
understand in like spacing andjust like still learning, like
gaining and stuff like that, solike getting getting a Better

(50:09):
Feel of what the hell I want todo.
And then just, yeah, justremind myself, right, this is my
sound, it's okay.
Obviously, don't compareyourself to nobody else, because
it's your own sound, and justhave you know, own it.
Yeah, I mean, it's just havefun with it, like, if it's not,
what not?
No, remind myself.
I've learned, especially Fromthen to now, from then, from

(50:29):
baby steps, one to two, andespecially from two to three,
and now have a little bit moremy arsenal to release other
projects.
There's so much, there's somuch to do and just don't, don't
be focused, you know, don't,don't, don't, don't worry about
it.
Like, just do your own thing.
It's not a race.
And when you want to releaseyour stuff, you know, release it

(50:51):
.
It does not to be a monthlything.
It's beautiful.
I'm inspired.
All the homies getting crazyevery fucking week, little techy
crazy with that shit.
I've inspired by that shit.
I know it's like obviouslyeveryone an understanding
yourself, I'm on that right nowwith my timing, with my life.
So it's like Understanding whatI wanted to do and

(51:12):
understanding like noteveryone's going, like it was
shit at the end of the day.
So getting past that from atthe first year to like now was a
big curve, which I'm verythankful for.
Women now, like I'm gonna playwhat I'm gonna play and it's not
my fault, you know I gotinvited to play something
somewhere.
Or you know you happen to behere, I'm playing.
If you don't like it, you knowthat's, that's on you.
And if someone else is bumpingit and they fuck with it, that's

(51:33):
.
I'm sorry you don't like mymusic, but I'm not making it to,
you know, for anyone else otherthan myself.
And then hopefully, if it doesinspire someone, I'm dope, but I
, I make some shit, that I havesome fun late and just like yo,
this is fun.
And show my parents, like, whaty'all think about this.
Or hit my Nana up like it wasgood Nana, what do you think
about this me?
It's beautiful man, it's justfun.

Speaker 5 (51:53):
Yo, do you, do you play?
Did you play baby steps foryour parents and your Nana?

Speaker 3 (51:58):
Yeah, so it was.
They actually Sotted outbecause they be maybe tapping on
my, my social media when theysee me post us.
I could even I could even tellthem like, oh, I already
listened to it and oh, like Idon't like the vulgarity, but

(52:20):
but, yeah, but.
So like I like it was good, like the bees, like you know,
the music sounded nice andsounding like you know you.
I was like, oh, that's nice.
So that's what you're doing.
You know, whenever I'm, youknow, at home, you know it's
just, you know, in the lab andthey're hearing some weird shit,
it's like, or if I'm havingnight, I'll think I'm having my
talking to someone else and justme like messing with some
sounds I recorded and talkingabout it.

(52:43):
This is like that, that's justfunny.
Oh, yes, I played it for themand they, they liked it.
I'm thankful for that Support.

Speaker 5 (52:51):
Man like my standoff tracks.
Man like your mind is theweapon.
That's the first one.
Um, negative is positive.
Now, um, you got some change.
Have fun with yourself.
Um, what else?
Um, conversations with myconscious, uh, what else?

(53:11):
Uh, rise and shine, man.
I wanted more perspective too, man, because that's your own
inspire.
How you ended it.
You know it's crazy, man, butum, man, so okay, I'm let me,
let me kind of round this out, man, yeah, do you think, though?
So you, you know I love suprememan, you performing.

(53:33):
I don't know how many yearsyou've been performing live, um,
but when I seen, well, I sawyou one of your performances on
um, when I love supremecalifornia's twitch channel, um,
and I think it was you startingoff.
Yeah, the spacey like raw esque, like Yo, what you was doing?

(54:00):
I was yo blowing my mind overhere in the in texas man, I was
like yo, what the hell?
Yo, so I?
That's one of the reasons why Idefinitely got a tap in with
y'all Um soon, man, I'm onlyfour states away, so we need you
.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
We'll be dope to have you get funky out here bro.

Speaker 5 (54:18):
Yeah, man, um, um.
But yo like what, what goesinto your, your thought process
when you know you got up a beatshow or beat performance coming
up.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
Well, you talking to me like right now, I got a show
tomorrow, that's the 24 hours.
But uh, yeah, for roosterrealms again.
Um, for conversation, what goesinto mine is one, first and
foremost, get a goodunderstanding of like what I
want to do, like as a means ofwhat feel I want, because, um, I
get reminded, because I get inmy head up to a lot of times by,

(54:52):
like the homie, josh waterley.
He's like bro, you, you have alot of cuts, like you know.
Just there's some.
Not, you don't have to playlike a 10 hour set, like you
know, play like whatever.
So you know, just remind myself, what do I intentionally want
to go for for the day.
So that's, that's one of theconversations I think about.
All right, what, what vibe Iwant to go for.
And then to, am I playing newshit?
Or oh shit.

(55:12):
And then I'm playing strictlynew stuff because I always want
to play like, uh, I never wantto play the same set I never
have.
So you're never hearing thesame song and if you do hear,
maybe it's a second time you'rehearing it and yeah, that's,
that's it.
You're not gonna hear it everytime.
So I try to have, uh, how doyou say like a nice cycle of the
sounds I'm showing people likeI've played a lot of baby steps

(55:34):
three and then some jet blackstuff and uh, uh, projects that
I haven't even named yet buthave a like a playlist of out
for in mind, that I have playeda lot of or, you know, shared a,
whether at live shows or not.
So it's like all right, do Iwant to play those and how am I
going to go about that?
And then I think, also otherrandom human conversation when

(55:58):
I'm getting anxious, like ohdamn, I gotta you know the human
side like I gotta play in frontof some people like look like
Um shout out to wave roof frombeat cinema and um, him and I
homies around them you know kobiand all them, and I remember
this puffing before I think um,I performed there earlier, last

(56:18):
mid, last year, I believe andJust like yo, like you're just
playing music.
You playing your sounds for, like your friends and then other
people You're either nevergonna see again or people once
again.
Who gives a fuck about?
Like as a, as a means ofopinion, because you plan it.
You made this music foryourself and also for people
that you Bop too.
You know, you don't have tofall in love with you, so just

(56:39):
have fun.
So that same narrative tying tothat, like don't get too in
your head about it has to beperfect or I have to have my
transitions blended.
perfect Like no.
Like I obviously plan ahead andtrying to get it sounding, you
know, nice, but if it's notperfect I'm not gonna, you know,
you know, sit there and I'llstand at the world.
I got to stop my set for fiveminutes now, like when I first

(57:02):
like my first live set.
I think I hooked up and thenhad like five minutes just
trying to refix my program butit wasn't like the end of the
world for conversation,thankfully.
But from then to like now forconversation, it's like yo, you
know, if you mess up, thecrowd's thinking like you remix
in the same song, like no one'sgonna know until you make it

(57:22):
known.
So all that tied into, yeah, just try to approach it Like I'm
just trying to play beach, likenew sounds for the homies and
people that whoever wants tohear it can enjoy it.
If not, here's some sounds foryou to hear in the background
while you're talking with yourfriends and marker dozing.
So that's the type of vibe likeI come forward to for like live
sets, because I didn't have myfirst live set for conversation

(57:45):
in person until open oxsomewhere.
I forget.
And then I love Supreme andthen once again shouts out to
Maddie J and it's slipping mymind.
Right now I feel it's bad theFarsight TV for their lockdown.

(58:05):
That first COVID like onlineset that was my first official
set and that went well.
I was thankful for it too.
So from then to now, just yeah,be half one and understand like
yo.
Just not the end of the world.
If you know people don't fuckwith it, just go out there and
play your sounds and enjoy yourtime.

Speaker 5 (58:27):
Yeah, that's dope advice, man, that they're giving
you Cause you're right, likenobody's going to know if you
make a mistake unless you justlet it be known and you just
freak out and stuff like that.
But if you keep it moving, youknow they just they want to see
what you do, like it's almostlike they first time listeners,

(58:48):
you know, trying to figure outlike all right, who is this
person playing this music?
Do I want to support them?
Do I want to follow them onsocials and by their music and
listen and you know stuff likethat, man.
But man, I'm glad that advicewas given to just have fun.
You got a lot of cuts, just youknow what I mean.
Pick a sound and just go play, man, and have fun.

(59:08):
You know that part man.
Yeah, what's been one of themost memorable, memorable or
significant moments from yourjourney so far?

Speaker 3 (59:21):
Yeah, Damn, that's a big one.
I'm thankful to have a lot tothink of, so many memories with
so many different times thatwere either lessons or super
dope times, ah, damn, so, offthe top, the one, my go-to.

(59:42):
This has always just made melike, reminded me like yo, I
appreciate.
You know God, the universe, whatever you want to call it.
I always said God telling melike yo, you're doing, you're on
the right path and you know, especially towards the start of
what I was, you know, you reallysee music, when we had the
homies come down young Roberto, jay Hill and at the time, those

(01:00:07):
low tech thank you, brother, thank you came down and they had
Airbnb and we were just rockingbefore Left of Pain, we even
created and we're just kickingit and, yeah, we're just having
a great time like having them.
And then they had an Airbnb, like about 10 minutes from my
crib, like in T's crib, becausewe live up the street, not too

(01:00:27):
far from each other.
So we meet.
So we all went to get Jay Hillill, ill, ill, ill, ill.
Let's do.
You got Roberto, low tech.
You got, I believe, job.
Joshua.
Brother Blackout was there.
T Dot was there.
Christian was getting flicks.
You had myself.
We had brother orc music killerwith it.

(01:00:49):
He pulled up and just a bunchof their, I believe, to key
pulled up.
I don't remember all the daysbecause I remember I wasn't
there for all of them.
Brother soloist was there tooand just having that vibe of
like yo, we have so many dopeheads, and this isn't all that
he tapping into like the full, like all the heads of other
events and other sessions, butthat was like yo, this is dope,
like take this and like enjoythis.

(01:01:11):
Because this is like one of thefirst of like many like yo.
Just vibes and reminders oflike just keep going and have
fun with it and, yeah, justbuilding with a lot of been a
loved one since then and justhaving fun with it.
It's literally since I thinkthat was one of my favorite
because, yeah, we made dummycuts through and then we had
like dope, dope little memoriesgoing to the beach, you know,

(01:01:32):
going to hit ramen spots I loveramen, one of my favorite things
to do, Dick and ramen, you know, record shopping, just hiking,
just little stuff, just gettingto know each other more, because
at that time a lot of us hadeither just towards the end of
lockdown, when shit was firstopening up.
So our stuff wasn't fully openedup, so we were just getting to
know each other outside of likehow do you say outside of social

(01:01:57):
media, because we would zoomlike it's actually to the
brothers, because I wasn'talways able to make it because
of school and shit, but almostlike three times, four times a
week the brothers were in a zoomjust talking about life and
obviously you know making musicand you know getting other
inside like how is this sound?
How could I make some stufflike that?
Or making you know, send methat, like let me add this stuff

(01:02:18):
.
Like that was handing like alot of the time during lockdown
to the end and then to like theopening of stuff.
So we were officially meetingeach other in person outside of,
you know, just knowing eachother through zoom, and it was
dope.
So that also cemented a lot offriendships and yeah, all the
honeys are dope man.
That time was probably one of myfavorite moments that I can

(01:02:40):
recall from like recent times.
Outside of like all the youknow shows or concerts is going
to get food with some friendsoutside of like doing anything
musically digging it's alwaysfun Like, yeah, hidden pooba, I
love just going to new beckershops with honeys.
That's another experience thatI always enjoy.
Yeah, there's so many newthings.

Speaker 5 (01:03:01):
Yeah, man, that was a crazy time.
Yo, that was literally justthree, four years ago, man, that
we just went through that RightTime be, wow, you know time be
flying man.
Um, yo, so, so, um, jet lag man, as as we round this out.
Um, that's very serious.

(01:03:24):
These are my last, maybe lastthree questions.
Yeah, go ahead First one is ifthere's one piece of advice that
you can give to your futureself where you are right now,
what would it be?

Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
Oh, shh, shh, shh shh , be more patient and be more
present.
I would think this because justI know as much as I plan ahead

(01:04:05):
I do that too much Sometimesrecently with getting caught up
with how things go with likeyour life.
So just slow down and you know, like enjoy where you've come
and then remind yourself youknow, maybe you know every few
years I might need to, you know, reach back myself what are my

(01:04:26):
goals and you'll be thankful forhow far I come.
And then you know there's somuch more to do and there's
always something more to achieveand there's always something to
learn.
And I could always level up insome way, shape or form until
there's never like I don'taccomplish, just to remind
myself that I guess, oh, thisobviously accomplished things,

(01:04:46):
but I mean I could always benicer than you know what I mean.
So that's kind of theconversation.

Speaker 5 (01:04:54):
I get it.
That's dope.
Now the second question is howcan people tap into you?
I think I heard you say there'sa Baby, Steps 3.

Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
Am I tripping right now, Cause I yeah yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, so I so you got BabySteps 3, it's been low key long
away.
I was supposed to drop it on mybirthday.
That's so bad.
I was supposed to, you know, give the people some new sounds
over a few months now, but it'sabout a year since the last time
I dropped something.
So I'm thinking about droppingsomething like I mean soon, like

(01:05:32):
y'all might even see me in thenext few weeks, if not the next
month.
So, yeah, I might see a littlebit of a rollout.
I'm gonna get some more stuffjust solidified as me to track
list.
So Baby Steps 3 is definitelydone.
It's just a matter of testingmy order of how I want that and
exactly what I'd like to givey'all.

(01:05:52):
We got Baby Steps 4 marinated, but that one is on the back
burner cause I want to put a lotmore instrumentation and, yeah,
a lot, lot more.
Like, all right, this is justfun, but it's like you're like
yo, here's some bass shit, someshit that makes you like get
that snake face.
And then I got Jet Black Joshua, my brother, black God Joshua,

(01:06:15):
and I got to finish the project.
So he and I I feel so badbecause my brother is, he's a
workaholic, he kills it with thebeats.
He's not working his own stuff,he's mixing something or doing
something else, so he's killingit.
So I'll be having to flip andschedule cause I'm a busy bee,
but I guess got to pull up andfinish my part for, like the how

(01:06:39):
do you say some of theinstrumentation side, cause it's
a collab projects between.
So I'm not just doing bass, weboth doing the, you bounce
between who's doing drums orwho's doing the sample, or we've
playing some keys for thisgenre, since, like it's both of
us like, oh, this is where youwant to take it and I love that
dude cause ever since I met him.

(01:07:01):
So it could like beforelockdown 2018, I should say in
the 2017, we would just jam andnot have to say shit and just,
yeah, just we would take itthere and it felt like church.
I always loved jamming with him, so that type of shit.
We just got to, I got to.
We can disappoint myself thisnext few weeks to get Jet Black

(01:07:23):
done on my end, cause he'salways ready and cooking.
So that's going to be coming outthis next season.
I'm not going to reveal toomuch.
And then there is also, youknow, we got monthly beat
compilation is going to becoming out through a love
supreme.
So y'all going to be getting,if I'm not mistaken, monthly

(01:07:47):
editions of all the hummies thatI was able to pull up and you
know it was good with the show, show what the hummies are doing
for that month.
And each of us has, you know, atrack, if not multiple tracks.
And, yeah, just give it a divide.
Brother Pax is holding it downwith the master and Nixon and
all that fun stuff, thescientists, the wizard, yeah, so

(01:08:07):
we're going to be getting thatfor other like projects when
we're part of and then just afew other hummies I have I'm
just trying to deal with.
I've got projects as a means oflike having hummies wrap on,
but the titles and like fullfleshed out stuff hasn't been
solidified, so I'm not going totease y'all too much, but
there's a lot of stuff in theworks this next month.

(01:08:29):
Plus you don't have baby stepsthree and some other stuff,
maybe some teasers for Jet Blackand, yeah, keep on a lookout
for visuals and all the hummies.
You might just hear some basslines or some other.
You know Travis, littlesprinkles here and there and
that shit.

Speaker 5 (01:08:46):
Yeah, man, you got a lot of stuff happening Yo 2024,
20, yo it's about to be crazy.
I'm excited for this man.
I'm excited for these albums.
Man, Yo baby steps three, babysteps four, or just say black.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):

Speaker 5 (01:09:06):
Black Jet.
Black Travis.

Speaker 3 (01:09:09):

Speaker 5 (01:09:09):

Then the love supremecompilations, man.
Wow, yo man, yo listen intimacy.
If y'all not tapping into, youknow what I mean.
Jet Black, travis man, and Ilove supreme what they doing.

(01:09:33):

wish, and I think we were aboutto start setting some things up
for my Austin crew.
But San Antonio I got a coupleof people that I'm linking with
right now, so I think we aboutto start building too.
