Tom’s resentment toward sports pushed him away from athletics, and he turned to work instead. The allure of money fueled his delinquent behavior, leading to small crimes and robberies. At 18, he began using cocaine, which led him into depression. Desperate to escape the cycle, Tom attempted suicide, but his methods failed.
Hope arrived when he connected with another recovering addict—a person from his past. Through trust and faith, Tom found a better way in a 12-step program. Today, he celebrates an incredible 32 years clean and sober, proving that recovery is possible even in the darkest moments.
