Winona Ryder. Yes. Crucible. Yes. Okay. I get that. I couldn't watch anything with the rodina right afterwards after the crucible. Yeah

(00:08):
Hated she played a great villain
So great. I hated her guts and I could not watch it and the only time I started watching again is
When stranger things first came out?
Yep, safe to save the yeah, so you can watch
What's it called? Well, I'm Samer. No, nothing. None of it couldn't watch it with her ruined. Mr. Deeds for me

(00:29):
And so like it wasn't until stranger things. I was like, all right, I can forgive you. I'll give it a shot
I was like, all right, let's try it and I liked her hair. I was like, okay, I'll forgive you for playing that role
I forgive you
Alright here we go
Five four three

(00:55):
What's up everybody, this is the red band podcast your source for all film and TV related news and topics
I am your host at the king and of course with me is my co-host agent G
Point this and of course sitting in the control room is our technical director Mike cards. Welcome back everybody. Welcome back guys
How you guys doing this evening man solid good and solid another good solid night. No the good solid run, man

(01:19):
There's actually some improvement that we had going on with that LA wildfires
They had the just really quick before we get into the film news and everything. They just had their their fire aird concert
yeah, the fire aid yeah and
as
Much as it was a little awkward in between the set changes some of it felt like that, you know
staging this you do get from those type of

(01:40):
relief events and everything like that
The performances were actually pretty solid and it was actually pretty well done put together some of the artists that they had a good mix
Of the young artists new artists and everything so it kind of went good back and forth
Especially the way they planned it between two different stadiums. They had it at the Kia and then the Intuit
So they actually had it televised going back between the two between sets

(02:03):
So it was actually pretty well structured in that way there was um, I
Forgot the hood they had they had um, well some of them were Billy Eilish. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah Katy Perry
Gracie Abrams earth wind and fire. Yeah earth with fire. You know, they had a Joni Mitchell came on
Stevie Wonder Stevie Wonders the um, oh and this Stevie Nicks the

(02:27):
Intuit yeah. Yeah. Yeah, so they had so they had two events some of them did go to both of them
So I believe Billy Eilish she was at the very beginning at the Kia and then she was towards the end of the Intuit
Yeah, and the form had better ones. Oh, yeah, they absolutely did that. I think that was the better one in my opinion
Yeah, Anderson Pack. I think was over there Dre Green Day. No doubt. Mm-hmm
Graham Nash was in there. Mm-hmm Stevie Nicks

(02:50):
Red hot chili peppers the black crow. Yep, Steven Stills
and it was like said the performances the program everything it was
Put together really well. There was some issues. I'm pretty sure there was one of the sets where they had the food fires
Um, come on. Well, they had Dave Grohl and his daughter come on and a few other people there was a member from Nirvana
They're all playing together. Yeah, Dave Grohl and his daughter were there. Yeah his daughter

(03:12):
He played the drums and his daughter was singing Pashmire came back. Yeah
It sucks because the audio engineer fucked that up
Oh, really? He really fucked it was bad. It was really bad. The mics cut off the feedback was bad
So during that whole set it fucked up and then right towards the end. I think they booted his app

(03:34):
It like it it seemed like they had they got that guy out and get someone else to fix it up really quick
It crashed out hard the audio. Oh, it was bad during that which we might get a re-release with a better version of it
Yeah, maybe yeah a lot of times when they record they record on separate equipment not that same exact
So it might fix that but like you can even see like they're trying to signal him to like turn the

(03:55):
Their monitor speakers up because they can't hear like and they're singing you can see they're getting frustrated too
And then it got in between the song sets. It was just quiet
No, yeah. Yeah, so I was like fuck
Which unfortunately with these type of live events with different artists? Yeah, it's
It's not I'll say not common, but it's not uncommon that something would happen

(04:18):
So that was like only the real major mistake. I can say that happened
It was a little weird cuz the type of performances and the artists they had on
Like a little baby that felt a little awkward cuz it's just so it's just guy with auto-tune on stage
While everyone else had bands and acts of performances, so it's like
Yeah

(04:38):
Yeah, that's why it was a little weird like even like John
Let's not like even with like John Mayer when he was just by himself. It was good
His performance was good. Just him singing with his guitar and really good guitar play, but it worked for him
Yeah, so like I said like cuz everyone had their own life like oh, yeah, everyone had live performances. Everyone was their natural voices. It was

(04:59):
Either none or very very minute audio backup tracks. So it was all live pure voice
Except when you get to little baby, you know, you get the backup tracks and everything you sing along. Yeah, it's all artificial
That's the only part that kind of felt out of place
But generally speaking like I did enjoy the performances. It was pretty nice
It was a little weird when you had people coming on talking about like they lost their homes

(05:23):
Like they brought random citizens on but they're talking about the things they lost from a teleprompter. So it's so unemotional. Oh
Well, I mean at the same time like this is like a live event. Yeah. Yeah, yeah the planet
So it's like yeah, I lost everything it hurts really
Yeah, it's so dead now
That's the part like you didn't need to have people bring a speech you say

(05:46):
Thank you. This meant a lot and then you could have gotten a lot it could have been better in that way
Yeah, yeah. Okay. Well, that's that's kind of cool. Yeah, so it's pretty interesting
And of course, you know is on every streaming service, of course, because streaming services are from LA
Yes, so I don't know if they have yet all the recordings of it posted on their stream sites

(06:07):
I know that some places have the highlights on YouTube. You can see the entire thing from beginning to end
Okay, it's like six hours, right? Yes, so they have the entire six hours on there
Okay. Yeah, so you could watch it on there if you want to rewatch anything. I would recommend going on YouTube
Yeah, but I'll say watch that's pretty interesting. You actually like the you'll like their performances
No, this is something like we did not talk about previously or plan this out

(06:29):
I kind of really want to throw this it really in there quickly what?
ex sky dance executive
Escapes prison time after admitting to recklessly operating the drone that crashed into the super scooper during the L fires
Wait a minute. Hold on. Remember there was okay. Yeah, I know the drone. Yeah
Yeah, the one operating it an ex sky dance executive president the former president of sky dance interactive

(06:51):
Was the owner and a pilot of the drone that crashed into the plane?
He's the one that it was down. Yes. He's the one that did
Yes
Like some random Joe Schmoe, that's what I thought too. Yes. I just looked it up right now
I just looked up like the wildfire see look any info
Yeah, any updates of that and it came up right now like women no wait that this the sky dance interactive the sky dance

(07:15):
No, president. I gotta see I have to change a topic. Yeah. Holy shit. Hold on. We're changing on the fly
Oh my god ex sky dance
Interactive
Yeah, former sky dance interactive president pleads guilty to piling drone that crashed into plane during palisade fired

(07:35):
What the fuck?
He
He it says he's gonna escape he's gonna have no present time but you agreed to cover an estimated
sixty five thousand one hundred and sixty nine dollars in plane repairs and to complete a hundred and fifty hours of community service to help aid
Southern California wildfire relief

(07:55):
Okay
Okay, again, like I didn't I did not know that when this first happened
I thought was just some teenager some but some idiot playing that's what I thought to have a drone out there like oh who the hell's
Who else doing that who else who would be dumb enough to it's a former executive Peter Ackman. Yeah, Peter Ackman
What's this guy look like?
Like I want to get a mug shot. I want a mug blast your face all over the fucking internet. Where you at?

(08:19):
Where you at, homie?
Peter Ackman
There you go, there's that face he's the one who started it all
What an idiot that's that's the one that brought down the
Yeah
Well, let's get actually started into our film news and move on to this cuz man, it's gonna be a pretty long night with us

(08:45):
So first what we got here, we're gonna be covering over the release of the friendly neighborhood spider-man
It just released not that long ago and there's already some people talking about certain parts of this series that you know
Yes, it's it's Marvel so no matter what it's going to always bring up people talking about woke this woke that and stuff like that
But Michael did make a good point with one character redesigned

(09:06):
Yeah, yeah, and I don't know because I brought this to Anthony and I we're both conflicted on these feelings
So we all know that Norman Osborn right now
As a classic character, right? Classic Norman
always had waves
White guy with white guy with waves. All right pulled back, you know, pull back it slick, right tight

(09:31):
Shit was spinning, right?
Now he's always had that from inception from his from the creation of the character to now and the oh
Thing that was always a running joke was like yo
Why is this shit so clean like cleaner the most fucking black people's waves and shit like that shit looks on it looks on

(09:52):
It works. It works. The shit the shit is on fire. The thing is fucking phenomenal
Mm-hmm, Chris my oh my my guy he's
He's got turbulence in the waters with that shit size for that fucked up windbreaker
Yeah, but
For some reason they decided to make Norman Osborn in your friendly neighborhood spider-man black

(10:15):
All right, and you know how everyone feels about race swapping and all that stuff, you know
People have their own opinions as whatever now. Now, here's the question
Now did they race swap him?
Be it to black to a black Norman Osborn
Because of the waves that original Norman Osborn
I think so and if so, why did they stick with the waves? Why not a different haircut? Did they stick?

(10:43):
specifically to a black Norman Osborn because of the waves and
And if so, I think so make it problematic that Norman Osborn now is black having waves
Or was a problematic when Norman Osborn in its inception had waves and to begin with
I'm white but here's the problem though
I know people complain and I know I have my own personal opinions of this but I

(11:04):
Rethought about it. I'm like, yeah, it does bother me
It does bother me with a race swap, but it more bothers me with the fact that it kind of fucking works
Yeah, like the waves it's like it's it's like with more of a comment we have color swap ninjas
Yeah, you color swap Norman Osborn and it still fits man. The waves are clean. The suit is clean

(11:26):
He is dripped out all the time. This is a brother
Like he has always been a brother. Go back to the original one
Okay, original look of him
Dude, I say all it is like a palette swap. That's all I did. He looks like he dips in the milk chocolate
like
That's a homie
Like bro already had a preference

(11:47):
Yeah, come on, come on
Bro was in Harlem too many times
or something
You know motherfuckers put on that afro sheen
Like come on man
Bro
It fucking works. So when they wave swap them, I'm like, yeah, it's weird but

(12:08):
Fuck it does work
It works
So I mean they didn't change his outfit
They didn't change his mannerism
Go back to the same image
Like it's just
Actually I hear that one
Which one? This one?
See it's smooth still
Exactly the same mannerism as what Norman Osborn would have been

(12:30):
It was white
So I mean
Really it's just a different shade
Same Osborn, different shade
And then the voice actor for his
What Domingo Coleman
Yeah
So they actually do have a black person now doing the voice of him
And that was the guy
The actor that was in The Walking Dead right?
Yeah

(12:52):
So him right here yeah
Which honestly shave him up
Put some waves on him
Throw him in Spider-Man 4
Dude
They ain't ready for that
Hear me out
Or are they ready? Is it time?
It might be time
Like I said I'm one of those people who
I'm on board with people who are pissed off

(13:14):
With like race swapping
I'm one of those people who I don't like the race swapping
I feel you
Because it's unnecessary
It doesn't matter, there's no point to this
But there's some times when
Somehow it still works
Like one of these instances, I still hold it
I think about this
I'm the director and I'm like I'm looking for a normal Osborn
And then Domingo Coleman

(13:36):
Shows in
Cut hair, fucking waves
Suit and tie
I'll be looking differently
I'll be thinking a lot differently
You see what I'm saying? Yeah
I feel you
I feel like you know what? Yeah
Overall speaking for what it looks like
The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man reviews
They're generally favorable right now

(13:58):
People do find it entertaining so
I'd say a pretty interesting watch if you want to see that
Because they are doing some variation
I saw one clip, they took the scene
From when Peter comes home
In Civil War and first meets Tony Stark
And I think that's what they used to
They copied that scene
And replicate that almost frame by frame
Yes they did, yeah
So that's pretty interesting how they're doing stuff like that

(14:20):
And the story is kind of like
Before pretty much the events
Of Homecoming
So I think this was the
Spider-Man project that was originally
Named Freshman Year
This is it, but just reworked
Okay that's actually pretty cool
So I actually like that
If you guys want to check it out you can see it on Disney Plus
Alright covering over our next

(14:42):
Film news topic
Warner Bros Superman rolls out
Threatened by lawsuit over international
Rights, what's going on with this?
Because certain people say it has certain licenses right?
Yes, well
This one gets real confusing
When it comes to states and laws
And who owns what
This becomes extremely
Convoluted

(15:04):
Because it's saying that they cannot release in certain countries
Which again, I don't understand the law that much
Because to me it doesn't make sense
Because multiple people own the
Rights to Superman unfortunately, it's one of those things where
Several people have
Hands in it
Well it sounds like in those countries
There are some legal issues where
They can't receive any payment
Or royalties from it

(15:26):
So that's what it seems like that Warner Bros
Is making deals to distribute in Canada
UK and Australia
So they're collecting all that cash
And it seems like the Superman estate is not getting any money
From that
Because there's some weird laws with that where it doesn't
Require necessary from foreign countries
You see what I'm saying? Like if you sell your products
Outside the US
You might not be loyal to

(15:48):
Or you might not be liable to those royalties
I think that's what's going on with this
That you might not be liable for royalties
In the US
But not in the countries that we mentioned
Gosh, that's weird
That's really weird
So this is kind of going to be a weird setup on
If this actually will affect
DC's launch
With their first Superman movie

(16:10):
If this affects
Entering in certain countries
That will be a big hit to its box office
And it shows that this isn't the first time
That this lawsuit has been brought up
I mean there's always been beef between
The Superman estate and Warner Brothers
For a very long time
There's always been that beef
I'm showing there as far as 1947
Jesus

(16:32):
So pretty much any like
Superman movie that's ever dawned
And for the most part it's
The state is complaining and saying
We're not receiving the real estimated value
Of what Superman is
Which I'm pretty sure that's true
If you think how big of a pop icon
Superman is
The t-shirts all that stuff like all the merch
Everything that they make from that character

(16:54):
I wonder how little
The state is actually getting
You see what I'm saying
It would take something like
Them to unfortunately hire
Some really good lawyers to audit
The whole finances to go find out
Exactly how much they're missing or they're not getting
But the one thing that's worrying
Is that if

(17:16):
The lawsuit has married enough to block
The movie itself
That is a fear that you know they might
Have where
Because this happened not only in film but in other
You know music or in
Other medias where
A lawsuit will block something from being released
So what we have here
Under US copyright law
Shuster would typically be able to reclaim

(17:38):
His domestic rights to Superman
Under a provision in intellectual
Poverty law that allows authors
To claw back ownership of their
Works after a certain period of time
But his sister and brother reached a deal
With DC in 92 to
Terminate that right in exchange
For $25,000 per year
In a federal appeal court
Later upheld that determination

(18:00):
Okay so it sounds like he
Got fucked over by his own family who sold
Out the character to DC
Let's see
And I think that's where since then
The fight has been trying to reclaim
That
Family settled on chump change
Because okay on the
Because I'm looking right now like the
Movies of Superman itself

(18:22):
And obviously like the Christopher Reeves
Movies where like 87 was the
Last one
Then the next one after that was
It was a while right
It was a while after
Christopher Reeves
Yeah after Christopher Reeves it was a while before we got
A live action Superman
Brandon Routh right
Yes that was that one and so

(18:44):
Unfortunately it makes
Sense during that time the family probably got
Desperate that long
Period of time where they were receiving
You know there was a cartoon
I don't even think the cartoon was out that time either
Right the superman 92
Oh no earlier than that
Are we talking about the superman adventures
Any type of
Anything that would bring money in Superman

(19:06):
Adventures should have been out in 92
It was running alongside with
Batman animated series
Superman animated series
You have the one coming out in the 40s
I'm talking about the 90s one
96 okay oh 96 I thought
That was okay yeah so 96
So during 92 that means
Theoretically nothing was really going on with Superman
So probably the family got

(19:28):
Desperate like well we don't want to give it up
But we want something out of this
So they probably saw like oh $25,000
That's good enough who cares
$25,000
Now it's a multi-billion dollar property
Yeah
It's literally the most recognizable
Character on the planet
$25,000
You're doing that math right now

(19:50):
Damn y'all settled for $2,000
A month yep bro
That's sad
That's very sad
Hold on let me put that into perspective
On how sad that is so that's a month
And as well that contract policy importerity
Which means forever that's it
Divide that one by five
They don't have to update that contract
I didn't know that was how little

(20:12):
Like I knew like this happens a lot
Bro that's like a salary of you getting paid
$13.02 an hour
Damn
Unfortunately it was a bad
Situation on the family
Superman's estimated value is
I'm gonna hurt on this one

(20:34):
There we go
There we go
6.9
6.9 billion
I'm getting several billion
Let's just say 7 billion
7 billion
7 billion that is what it's worth right now
$7 fucking billion
After movies, comic books
Cartoons, merchandise

(20:56):
And games
And you get $2,000 a month from that
That's a loss
That's a huge loss so I can definitely see
Why they're pissed and why they're constantly
Suited over that so that's gonna be something
To really flip
I know nothing's gonna come up with that
Unfortunately due to history it's
Yeah that just really sucks though
So I really don't actually

(21:18):
It's looking at that now I don't see how it's gonna do too much
Effect on its release unless
Somehow they do get clearance in a
Higher circuit court to allow us to continue
Don't forget that
There's always since
The beginning of MC the whole Jack Kirby thing
Yeah that's true that's true it has always been like that
That just really sucks though
Alright going over our last bit of
Film news before we hit a break

(21:40):
Christopher Nolan's Odyssey
Rounds out another
Full cast list
Man there's more people being attached to this
Every other week
Or maybe close to like maybe
Every couple weeks
There's additional names being added
Yeah and
And these are all confirmed not just rumored right?
Yeah so far these are the ones

(22:02):
That have been confirmed
Including
Matt Damon
Tom Holland Zendaya
Robert Payson Lupito
Nyong'o Anne Hathaway
Charlize Theron
John Berthel Benny
Safdie like it keeps going
John Elliot Page
Oh Elliot Page John

(22:24):
I can never pronounce his name
Luguziamo Luguziamo
Luguziamo yeah is added to it as well
Like Bill Irwin
Bill Irwin the guy who did
The voice of TAR
It's like he's really building
That ensemble cast
Dude he
Nolan is the only person I trust on
Ensemble cast yeah that's true because

(22:46):
It's always tricky it's always tricky cause
Obviously you know every studio
Dreams of sticking up every
A list to make the greatest film and they've done
Hundreds not hundreds but
They've done it so many times so many times it just
Fails every single time not every time some of them make
Cause some of them but for the most part when they
Were trying to do like a ensemble action film
It just sucks ass yeah yeah
But with Nolan's like alright let's see what happens

(23:08):
But you know what it's cool because
Like at the same time
Like it kinda shows it with Oppenheimer
How many like
Star studded actors and actresses
Were in it but some of them
Even being reduced to just like
Background characters there's no
Fight for like no there's not roles
Or stardom it's everyone was playing
Their part no yeah and

(23:30):
Everybody wanted to be in it
Regardless no matter if it was big or small
Because it was Christopher Nolan yeah not only
That but he has
This guy has a magical ability to
Not overshadow the project
With actors yes
He just like he sticks them in the right
Place and they blend in perfectly to the film
Yeah that's true that's very true where
They're not forgettable but at the same time they're

(23:52):
Not overshadowing the entire story yeah
You have your main characters
That he wants and then
People to fill in
And those will be
Anyone and those will be star studded
Like A list actors are like dude let me
Please be in this movie I don't care
If it's big or small if it's small out of whatever
And you have characters like that
That are just like in the background like what's

(24:14):
Is it
No not Dennis Quaid
Is it his son
Jack Quaid or something like that
Yeah Jack Quaid is
Yeah yeah yeah yeah he has
He has a minor role in that movie
Maybe like a line he says
Maybe like a sentence or two but that's it
And it's awesome
How it's just like you can have

(24:36):
This many big names in it
And you know the story is still
Gonna hit because one
It's Christopher Nolan he knows what he wants
He knows the actors that he wants to play
Which role and then everybody who just wants
To be in on it just because it's tied to a
Christopher Nolan movie
I'm gonna be really curious so
Now you have the ensemble cast
That's already a big

(24:58):
Amount of your budget there
This is the Odyssey you have to go hard
Yes you have to go hard in the fucking
Paint with this this is a high budget
Movie high budget I can easily see
Going into $354 million
Oh absolutely
Because he's obviously a man with
Practical effects which means he's
Possibly gonna build an entire ship
He's probably gonna look for real giants

(25:20):
He's gonna look for real cyclops
I heard he's gonna
He's gonna actually
Hire
What's-his-face who did Avatar
What's-his-name James Cameron
To go down his sub and try and
Bring up Poseidon for this
I mean he's
He's pulling out all the stops

(25:42):
We're talking about the guy who built a mini nuke
Just to get that shot
That's true
Though it has been a long time
Since we did get like one of those like
Seafare based films
That are just out in the sea
Yeah
Yeah it's what since

(26:04):
Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates yeah with that old fashion
I mean for like more moderns like Captain Phillips
Like that kind of stuff but like
Entire film that usually takes place out
In that water that's already gonna be really
Expensive
Oh my god
Ugh
It's a Russell Crowe movie
Old or new

(26:26):
Old
Plays like an English
English captain
Uh
Master and commander
Yes, yeah, Master and Commander
Okay like that one that's a movie
That takes place out in the sea
Actually the last thing I've probably seen
That any movie or
Show that was ships that was actually shot

(26:48):
Out in the sea Black Sails
Remember when I was watching Black Sails
Yeah, see put that
Production value into that
Cause that for a TV show they put a lot
Of value in production into those
For a star show
I don't even think you gotta ask Christopher Nolan
That's already gonna happen
That's already gonna happen yeah yeah
They're building a ship by hand

(27:10):
Yes, the only thing you gotta worry about
At this point is, is he gonna drop one of those
Cameras in the ocean
What are you talking about? Of course he is
Is he gonna drop an IMAX in the ocean
That's what's gonna happen
It's like they finally finished it's like the last day
They finally hit wrap like congratulations man
Everything's good we shot everything
This time we did not destroy the camera
It just

(27:32):
Pressed it right into the water
I don't know why I'm putting it out
There and I'm sorry if I'm putting it out there
But I have a feeling there's gonna be like some sort of
Like gimbal rig with the IMAX
Camera doing like a wide
Shot pushing out from the
Hole of the ship or from the deck of the ship
Trying to get a little bit of like that wide
Angle shot of the deck hands everyone's
At work and somehow the waves are gonna

(27:54):
You know how like the turbulent waves when you hit
When you crash through somehow it's just gonna
And then just snap off
Snap off the crane
So can we get like you know that shot from the Batman
With the car chase scenes with the cameras mounted
On the car can we get that for the ship
That would be a hard shot that would be a hard shot
He probably would
Because he did that kind of shit for Interstellar

(28:16):
Yeah so you know
What fuck it
Put it on put it
What's the front of the ship? The bow
There you go put it on the bow
And oh my goodness when you get those
Sea fights
I want accurate oh no wait sorry
Sorry I was thinking of like Master and
Commander
Where it's like that where it's just

(28:38):
There yet
But no this is gonna be a really interesting movie
To look forward to like I said big
Big cast of people so this
Is gonna be interesting
Because like I said we know how he plays with ensemble cast
We know he does good but this is
Heavier than his other films yeah this is
A heavier casting list than any
Of the projects he's worked on yeah

(29:00):
I don't think I've seen you gotta be yeah
I mean it's no absolutely I'm looking right now
Like it is heavy
There are I guess apparently only
There is 1800
IMAX cameras in the world
But only 8 true
IMAX and he broke 2
Yes
So you mean there's 6
No there's currently there's currently

(29:22):
There's currently only 8 so there might have been 10
To begin with or they might have fixed them
They probably fixed them up it was a long time ago or made new ones
But yeah no I'm actually
Getting pretty pumped for this one yeah
And did they have a release date
Yet for it? No probably not
Okay so it won't be anytime sooner
This is still really early development
Nevermind slated to release in theaters
July 17th 2026

(29:44):
What is that the 35
Millimeter edition? Well what's
The biggest edition they have? 70?
I hope they have a release date
This movie has to be 70 millimeter
Has to be I will sit down
In a theater for 3 and a half hours for this
I'm telling you we gotta go see that one
I'll put a hammer in that version
It's worth it
We're gonna strap on some adult diapers

(30:06):
We're going to a luxury theater
So that we can lay back comfy
You know it's gonna be
Great I'm looking forward to it
Alright well we're gonna take a quick break
And when we get back we're gonna cover
Our main topic so stay tuned we'll be right back
To you guys
And we are back
And we are back
And we are back

(30:28):
Covering over our main topic tonight
The LA wildfires are
Pretty much done so the city
Wants to move forward and of course the
First big major event coming up
Is the Grammys
This is pretty interesting cause someone's gonna make an appearance
And they haven't been really in
Any award shows in quite some time
In over a couple years
Will Smith

(30:50):
Will be presenting at
The Grammys how you guys feel about that?
After 3 years after that Oscar slap
They're gonna give this man
A show to host
I do not care
I do not care
No I mean
I do care but I mean it's like
He's just given an award

(31:12):
It's not the Oscars
Here's the thing though
Everyone made it seem like his career was done
He was gonna be completely blacklisted from Hollywood
He wasn't gonna make any appearances
He's slowly coming back he's been doing independent roles
He's starting to like right now go to award shows
He's even been asked to present it
Do you think this will bring in
The possibility and a lot of people are rumoring
That his ban from the Oscars

(31:34):
Will be cut very short and he'll be
Returned within a year or two
I don't think he'll come back to the Oscars
He'll have to do a video
What's it called
What's that thing called
A video presentation
They'll just hand out an award via video but not in the building
I honestly think they will hold up the end of the award
And we'll just keep him out
But that doesn't mean

(31:56):
He won't be able to do a video thing
But
Yeah this
Bro it's
Obviously people made a much bigger thing than it actually is
By the slap
At the end
Of the day it just comes out to two people who got
Got pissed
It was a petty little moment
That went national and then of course

(32:18):
Everyone you know they
Wanted to pitchforks out they wanted Will Smith
On a fucking you know bloody head
On a pike
But like I said it's
Hollywood does forget people forget
I don't
Hollywood forgets
Cambridge Farms remembers
The comedians did not forget
I'll tell you that

(32:40):
Comedians do not forget
I listen to a lot of podcast with comedians and I can tell you right now
That a lot of them still shit talking heavily
And so for him to work
With any comedians in the future maybe that's not going to happen
And the people that do
Might get blacklisted from the comedy world itself
Yeah his
Work with comedians and stuff that's ruined
But you think his career can make
A return

(33:02):
Absolutely man we're talking about people who have done more horrendous shit
Yeah, got a job
As long as Roman Polanski is still making work
Come on
That's true
That's very true
If anything this guy should be reprimanded on his fucking music
That's it
For real
What I want to see though I think it's there
Chris if you're listening to this

(33:24):
Chris Rock go to this Grammy
Award show attend it
Let them host wait for a good
Hour and a half into the ceremony
Just unannounced walk up on stage
And just slap the shit out of him
From behind stage walk out there
And then just lay it out
Unprovoked fast as
Hell and just walk right off
Right the amount of

(33:46):
Confusion will have him dazed
For a couple seconds
Alright so you got that time to walk away
That's the only time in my
Opinion would be like you know what
He can come back to the Oscars
But he's gotta get slapped by Chris Rock
And then once the Grammys happening this year
What was the date

(34:08):
I had the date pulled up and I just lost it
February 2nd
So tomorrow
No sorry Sunday
That was Sunday
So coming up this Sunday
And did they say
What streaming platforms we can
Watch this on or is this going to be only television
I know like Hulu will probably be

(34:30):
Streaming the awards right
Do we have to watch it
We don't but we gotta tell our audience members
If they want to watch it
Where they can find it
Go ahead and watch the pop awards
It's pretty much all it is honestly
Kinda really is yeah
You're never gonna see a metal band up there
No they're
That's in the like

(34:52):
You gotta go online to watch that interview
Which they did on the red carpet
Yeah
It says CBS
And streaming on Paramount Plus
So I see DirecTV stream Hulu Plus
Live TV and Fubo
And Paramount Plus with Showtime
So CBS
For live TV
Paramount Plus

(35:14):
For streaming services
And Hulu Plus too
Hulu Plus yeah
I'm saying Hulu Plus is part of the
CBS for live tv
Oh yeah yeah
Isn't Peacock
Part of CBS
CBS is um
Viacom so it's part of Paramount
Yeah

(35:36):
So okay if you guys are interested in actually watching
Those are the places you can find it at
I know we're not really much Grammys
People
Dude I have not watched an award show in like last
10 years
The award shows
The viewerships of award shows
Is steadily declining
Yeah
It has been going down and it makes sense a lot of people are caring less and less

(35:58):
That's why you don't get really
Remember the Oscar craze
You know the Oscar you know
Who's on the red carpet
Yeah that used to be the thing where everyone used to talk about the Oscars and everything like that
No one's talking about that anymore
No one's talking about those award shows anymore
Yeah but it's unfortunate because I mean
My least personal opinion on this is like
They have all these Pekes Up
Artists or Pekes Up movies

(36:20):
Which is like I don't care
It's never the shit you actually would have voted for
No
Or cared for
So I get that I definitely get that
And it's like uh
And it's hard to be able to tune in for like
To watch a movie that you want to win
When you can't afford to go and see the movie
Yeah no I get that too
Yeah

(36:42):
Like I never even heard of
Fucking
Whatever this Amelia whatever
The movie was announced for
Yeah
It's nominations I never even fucking heard of it
Yeah I never heard of it too
So that has been a thing in the last couple
Like 5, 6, 7, almost 10 years
Like a lot of these award winning films
Stuff you never even heard of

(37:04):
Yeah because it's like I'm like just so
Just a quick just pull up the list of the
The Academy Awards
Like uh best picture
Um like
A lot of these I have
No idea who they are
Uh Uh Unora
The Brutalist The Complete Unknown
Conclave Dunes Part 2
Uh Sorry Amelia Perez

(37:26):
I'm Still Here
Nickel Boys The Substance
And Wicked Out of the Entire List
I've heard about three of those
Yeah Wicked Dunes Substance
And I just recently
I'm talking like as
Two days ago
The Brutalist that's the one I found out about
I only found out because we do film news. So something happened.

(37:48):
Like I only found out with the brutalist because the whole AI thing. Yes.
Only found out about the Amelia Perez thing because you know, the actress and her,
you know, her tweets. Yes. So like you see, I was like,
so it just shows that it just at times seems really picking us up to the point
where it's like, if you don't,
this is so unknown and so good that you're not supposed to know about it.

(38:10):
Yeah, I don't like that. I don't like that. And that's where it's really become.
Yeah. So it doesn't really suck with that. You know,
that's how work shows are pretty much going.
Hopefully there'll be some kind of return.
I don't want to see more degradation because we talked about like at some point
they're going to try to piece to the younger audience and it's just going to be
like a tick tock feed.
I mean, we don't want that much, but acknowledge like, Hey,

(38:31):
this will be made $3 billion. Maybe deserves to be on the list. Yeah.
Like at what point do you turn like the Grammys and Oscars into like the MTV
awards? Do like in three years. Fuck it. Let's just do it. Who has the greatest
kiss on screen? No, that's MTV. That's teens choice.
That's a T choice award. We'll get there. And those options always sucked.

(38:53):
Oh, also we might even get to that level.
Best couples on screen. Yeah. It probably will get to that level.
Who? Who had, I don't know what the current term for is the fly's,
fly's costume or what I don't know what it is, but the fly's suit,
the wettest drip.
I would hate to be nominated to get a nominee.

(39:15):
Teen choice. Yeah, absolutely. Like,
I wouldn't even show up.
Like just send it to the assistant or something. I'll show up drunk. Right.
Oh yeah. All right. We beat out a werewolf teen.
Yeah. Fuck. Yeah. Kick a child.

(39:36):
Yeah. Fuck you little Susie.
Movie sucks.
I do fear though. Things will head that direction.
