This is a story and roadmap moving from extreme adversity to reclaiming personal power & purpose through Kindness & Forgiveness. This is a powerful and vulnerable conversation that will hopefully spark hope and inspire you.
One of my favorite quotes from Sonny is: “ It’s not about what you have done, but what you do that defines who you are…You can get up and make that choice every day.”

As a motivational speaker, coach, and activist, Sonny is passionate about sharing his story to aid and inspire people to choose growth from adversity because he has done just that. As a child, over the course of five years, he was the repeated victim of sexual molestation by multiple men, which led him to become an angry adolescent that saw him incarcerated at age sixteen for eighteen years. Since his release, he has mentored and worked with hundreds of individuals to encourage them to own their stories so that they too can recognize they have a choice – they can choose to live in victimhood, or they can choose to forgive, let go, grow, and empower themselves to live fulfilling meaningful lives. His core message is that it’s not what happens to us or what we have done that defines us; it’s how we choose to move forward and grow those matters.
In this episode, Sonny covers:
✅ What forgiveness looks like when you feel like you have done the unforgivable
✅ Practical Skills for a Forgiveness Practice
✅ How to find meaning when you feel empty inside
