Speaker 1 (00:04):

where we help restore hope andput your family on the road to
recovery, one episode at a time.
Here's your host and owner ofHazard Clean Restoration, Chad
Melody.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Join us for an enlightening interview with the
founder of Hazard CleanRestoration, where we dive into
their initial motivation fortackling the challenges of water
and fire damage restoration.
Welcome back everyone.
This is Garfield Bowen, back inthe studio with my man, Chad
Maloney.
Chad, how are you doing today?
Doing great, Garfield, Doinggreat.

(00:47):
So, Chad, tell me what inspiredyou to start Hazard Clean
Restoration and how has yourjourney been in the realm of
water damage restoration?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
So, you know, I think what inspired me was really,
you know, I was working in thecorporate world.
We had a family business thatalso you know that was in the
residential and commercialcleaning and everything else,
and we'd been in business for,you know, over 15 years and we
kept getting these inquiries of,you know, customers wanting to

(01:24):
know if we could handle, youknow, when they had water damage
or they had leaks and, you know, can we clean that up?
And so that's initially how wekind of got into it and to make
a difference for our customersand then our community.
And so when I decided to leavethe corporate world, it just
seemed natural to expand intothe restoration to really make a

(01:46):
difference, a bigger difference, as far as I think.
The second question you askedis how my journey has been so
far.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
All right, yeah, so the journey has been great.
You know, I started out reallyjust learning the basics of
water damage restoration, reallyjust learning the basics of
water damage restoration.
I had some good friends thatwere already in the industry and
I really just found itfascinating.
You know, it was a lot of math, science and there's a lot that

(02:21):
goes on to it as far as makingsure you're doing a good job in
drying out materials, and so Iwent on to get certified and
come, you know, in waterrestoration through the IICRC.
I then went on to, you know, further my skill sets, went on
to more advanced courses andcertifications in water
restoration.
Actually, in the last year I'veeven traveled out of the

(02:42):
country to get some advancedcertifications.
I've spent time with some ofthe best water restorers in the
entire industry really just tolearn hands-on from them on the
most advanced ways that we haveto date to drive buildings the
most effective way and mosteffective manner to drive

(03:05):
buildings the most effective way, in the most effective manner.
And you know I really enjoy, you know, being able to go in
and make a difference for othersusing the knowledge that I've
gained, you know, over thecourse of my journey.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, I know Water damage is a big thing.
I mean, we live in Florida, there's hurricanes, you know
what I mean.
But let's talk a little bit.
You get into like fire damage, restoration, mold remediation,
biohazard cleanup or any otherthings, and what kind of impact
does that have on the community?

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Yeah, so we do all those that you mentioned, and
all of it makes a difference, you know, because every day
there's a different call thatcomes through.
That's an emergency wheresomeone in our community is
suffered, whether it's a waterevent, a fire event's.
There's different types oftrauma, events that occur on

(03:58):
homes and businesses, and sowhat I really enjoy about our
industry is that we're able togo in and make a difference for
others Every single day.

(04:19):
You know, companies like HazardClean Restoration can go in and
into the community and reallyknow they're making a difference
.
It's not like we're just goingin and going to a cubicle or
anything else like that.
I mean we're really going inand helping others in their time
of need, and that's I get themost joy from that.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I know you're a very forward-thinking person.
I know you're a veryforward-thinking person.
What's?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
your vision for the future in terms of new services
or technologies or techniques.
You know you got AI coming andyou know AI or AIs here, I
should say but you know AI isgetting more and more integrated
with everything that we do andthat's a great thing because,
you know, as AI gets moreintegrated with you know, not
just our software that we useand everything, but it gets

(05:16):
integrated into our equipment.
It just makes everything moreeffective.
It takes some of the humanerror that can occur on
different job sites more andmore out of the picture.
I think that's the reallyexciting thing of where
everything's going, and even inour industry, it's only going to

(05:41):
make everyone in our industrybetter and I'm excited about
that.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
You seem to have a passion about what you do.
You know.
So, whether it's water damageor anything else, you know, I
think just a lot of peopleknowing that you have that
passion and excitement in yourvoice means a lot.
Listen, chad, great job asusual.
You have a wonderful rest ofthe day.
We'll see you in the nextepisode.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Thanks, garfield, catch you then.
