What happens when Christians step away from politics? The void doesn't remain empty—it gets filled with worldviews and policies that often contradict biblical values. Frank and Darcie Montgomery tackle this crucial topic head-on, challenging the widespread notion that faith and politics should remain separate.

Drawing from both Scripture and American history, the hosts explore how our nation was founded on godly principles, with references to the Divine woven throughout our founding documents, national anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, and currency. They make a compelling case that the current spiritual revival we're witnessing—from campus awakenings to policy shifts—correlates directly with leadership that acknowledges God publicly.

The conversation provides practical guidance for believers wondering how to engage civically without compromising their faith. Prayer for all leaders (regardless of party affiliation) forms the foundation, but the Montgomerys push listeners to do more: vote your values, research candidates thoroughly, attend local government meetings, and even consider running for office yourself. They address the reluctance many Christians feel about political involvement, emphasizing that we're not electing pastors but leaders whose policies align with biblical principles.

With upcoming election cycles on the horizon, this timely episode serves as both encouragement and challenge. God is in control, working through His people when they engage rather than retreat. The spiritual and moral restoration of America depends not just on who sits in positions of power, but on ordinary believers who pray fervently, vote wisely, and engage consistently in the civic process, bringing godly values into every sphere of influence, including government.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
you are listening to the restored podcast with frank
and darcy montgomery.
Welcome back to another episodeof the Restored Podcast.
My name is Frank and I amalongside my beautiful wife,
darcy hey, and we hope that youare having an amazing day.
So, darcy, there's been a lotof unrest in the world recently.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
And that's kind of the road that I wanted to go
down today.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Oh, are we talking about politics?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Let's do it.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
You know how passionate I am about Christians
being involved.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
And that's why I wanted for us to talk about this
matter today.
I feel that the Restoredpodcast is.
God has us doing this to showpeople.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
His restoration powers.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
His restoration powers, what he can do if
someone says, okay, I'msubmitting my life to you, god,
not my will be done, but yoursbe done.
When that happens, what thepower that God uses to transform

(01:40):
lives, transform families, transform cities, states and
countries.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Is what this podcast is all about.
I am proud to be American.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Me too.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I was raised in a family that was patriotic
Probably not as much as yours, being that you had a stepbrother
join the Marines and whenever Icame into your family, I mean
the entire living room wasAmerican-themed American flags,

(02:19):
united States Marine Corpsmemorabilia, everything like
that Very patriotic.
I remember at a very early ageI was under 10 years old when a
desert storm started and Iremember my mom putting on a

(02:39):
presentation at church.
It was a Sunday morning.
We all had little Americanflags and I think we sang a few
songs, but the song that standsout is the famous Lee Greenwood
song.
But that memory stands out tome, that in church on a Sunday

(03:00):
morning we were singingpatriotic songs, we were waving
American flags, and I was young,I don't remember it, but if I
know my mom like I think I knowmy mom and my brother-in-law was

(03:21):
the pastor of that church atthe time there were praying for
the troops.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Praying for the leaders that were making
decisions.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
And there's been a loss of patriotism, and that's
part of what we're seeing goingon now.
There's a loss of patriotism, there's a loss of respect for
authority.
In the Bible, we are called topray for authority, whether we
agree with them or not.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
We are called to pray for them and honor them, and
honor this country 100 andbetween desert storm and now, at
least in my own personalexperience and I think that it's

(04:09):
not just my personal experience, I think it's an epidemic in
the church to where thatpatriotism subsided.
Right subsided Right and thefact that I think a lot of

(04:31):
Christians feel that they are tostay out of politics.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
There is a fear that comes, I think, with the church
being in politics, and that'snot how it should be, because if
we're not up there giving ourvoices and bringing our prayers
and being involved, who's makingthese laws?
Who's bringing these agendas?
What agendas are coming in?

Speaker 1 (04:55):
that shouldn't be 100% and I think, when you look
back, when you go back, first ofall, god created government and
God created the civil policies, whatever you want to.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
And I believe as Christians we have a civic
responsibility.
In the Bible there are manyscriptures that tell us what our
civil responsibilities are, andI don't have them right here in
front of me, but we are to prayfor those in power, we are to
submit to those in power, we areto understand that they didn't

(05:38):
get in these positions withoutGod's hand purposely picking
them and putting them in thesepositions.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Absolutely not.
It's the same today as it wasin the Bible, whenever God would
appoint kings, when God wouldappoint rulers.
And that's not saying I mean, look at Saul.
Saul was a godly man, arighteous man.
He followed God's commandmentsuntil he didn't Right, and when

(06:11):
he didn't, God replaced him.
Now I say that, saying noteverybody in a high position is
following God.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Right.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
But even if they aren't following God, even if
they're making policies that wedon't agree with, we are to pray
for them, right, we are to prayfor their wisdom.
We are to pray for theirguidance.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
For their protection.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
For their protection, pray for their guidance, for
their protection, for theirprotection.
Pray for their salvation yes.
So that they would come to knowGod.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
And that's my prayer right now for the leadership and
the people of Iran.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
But that's our first and foremost duty, and I
encourage every single Christian, whether you agree with who's
in authority and whether it belocal, state or federal
governments, whoever that is inauthority, even if you don't

(07:19):
agree with them, I want toencourage you to pray.
Pray every day, find out theirnames and call their name out
daily and some of the thingsthat you want to pray for.
Like we just said, pray forthem to have wisdom when voting

(07:40):
on different policies, pray forthem to seek God's will and
God's guidance, pray for theirsalvation, pray for their health
, for their mental acuity, andpray that they would have
compassion for the people thatthey are serving.

(08:00):
So if that's the absolute mostthat you're willing to get
involved in, do that at aminimum.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Right.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Every Christian should be doing that, but I
think it's time for the churchto stand up and to get more
involved than just sitting inthe background and praying.
You mentioned it earlier.
If we're not getting involved,if Christians, if the church

(08:32):
isn't getting involved, we areleaving all of our governmental
policies that are being made.
We're leaving that at the handsof whoever.
Right, we're leaving that at thehands of whoever Right, and
most of that we can tell fromthe laws that have been passed
the past 8 to 12 years that theenemy has a stronghold on

(08:59):
government.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yes, but if you say that there is a reset and a
revival, I believe, coming toAmerica and the world, and
that's why we're seeing some ofthese demonic policies that are
in place now being changed.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
I think it all starts with this and I want to play a
clip and it's of President Trump, and it's of President Trump
and this is part of his pressconference that he had after the
US went in and struck Iran'snuclear facilities.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
And I want to just thank everybody and, in
particular, god.
I want to just say we love you, god, and we love our great
military.
Protect them.
God bless the Middle East, godbless Israel and God bless
America.
Thank you very much, thank you.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Whether you like President Trump or not, this man
is in the office that he is intoday because of God.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
He is there, he is appointed by God.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
He's been protected to stay in that position to work
through all the things that hehas accomplished.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
One thousand percent, his life was spared in Butler,
pennsylvania.
I mean, god did that.
He's publicly said that Godspared his life and I personally
think after that that, I thinkhe believed in God.

(10:37):
Before that I think he, youknow, was maybe one of those
people who had a relationshipwith God, knew who he was, but
didn't have a real closerelationship.
And now, after that, afteryou're faced with death, or
after God does something major,Yep Miracles will change your

(10:59):
perspective.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
when you witness personally or other people's
miracles, it will change yourperspective.
It will change how you viewthings and I think that's what's
happened.
Not only that, I will becompletely honest with you.
I was a never trumper his firstterm and this time I support
him so strongly because he haschanged.

(11:22):
He's gotten a little bit softer, he's gotten a little bit wiser
, he's gotten good counselaround him.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
I don't know if I have ever heard a president say
that.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
No.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Especially internationally, not just
nationally.
That thing was worldwide Yep,but a worldwide press conference
for the President of the UnitedStates to stand up there and
say we love you.
God, right, god.

(12:06):
He is declaring that he lovesGod, but he's declaring that
this country loves God, and ontop of that, he is the most
pro-Israel president that wehave ever had, and the Bible
tells us that those who blessIsrael will be blessed and those
who curse Israel will be cursed.
Right and we've seen that.
The previous administrationthey did everything but help

(12:28):
Israel for the most part, andour economy struggled.
America was in chaos, withriots, with economic crisis.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
And under his leadership we've seen where not
only just the political side butour culture has kind of taken a
shift.
There's revivals breaking outon college campuses liberal
college campuses.
There's revivals breaking outon college campuses liberal
college campuses.
There's revivals breaking out.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
And it starts because when the person is in control,
the governing body is in controlof a country and they are
seeking God's will and God'sguidance and they are trying to
do what God wants to be done.

(13:20):
That country is going to beblessed and we've seen it, not
just through the outpouring ofthe Holy Spirit, that we've seen
in revivals and lives beingchanged, but we're seeing it in
our country.
We're seeing different statesturning around, some of these

(13:42):
laws that were made in the pastsix years that were completely
ungodly, unbiblical.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Unconstitutional.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Unconstitutional, immoral, All of those things.
We're starting to see statesturn.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Like Roe v Wade, when that got overturned.
That was amazing because it hadbeen in place for so long and
there was such an outcry forpro-choice and all of that for
that to get turned around.
You thought it was a hand ofGod on that.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
One thousand percent and I'm just.
I look at what God is doing inour country and I'm so thankful
because I truly feel thatAmerica is being restored.
When America was founded, itwas founded on godly principles.

(14:35):
I mean our founding fathers.
They left Great Britain forreligious freedom.
They wanted to worship Godtheir way, without being told
what to do or no.
You can't worship that God.
You have to be a part of thisreligion or this denomination.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Right.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
And that's what our country was founded on.
You look in our foundingdocuments and it's God Right.
Our Pledge of Allegiance to theflag, god's in there.
Our national anthem, god is inthere.
Our coins and our money, ourcoins.
It says in God we trust Ourcoins and our money, our coins.
It says in God, we trust.
And for now, for people to saythat hey, god doesn't belong in

(15:22):
politics, you're wrong.
God founded politics.
Our country was founded in agodly manner and when you take
God out of the equation, like wehave done, you get all kinds of
chaos.
You get all kinds of chaos.
You get men and women's sports.
You get men and women'sbathrooms.
You get schools telling littleboys and little girls that they

(15:46):
don't have to be that gender.
They can be any gender theywant.
Heck, if they don't want to bea male or female, they can be a
cat.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
And that's what happens when you take God and
Christian step out of thepolitical process.
And earlier I said that thebare minimum you should do is
pray.
I lied.
The bare minimum you should dois pray and vote Right you

(16:17):
should do is pray and vote.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Right.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Vote for those candidates that they may not
live a Christian life Right.
I mean, look at President Trump.
I mean especially his firstterm.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Right.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
But I mean, and even he still struggles, just like
all of us I mean, he dropped anF-bomb the day after this press
conference where he's saying welove you God.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Right.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Now I say all that to where?
We're all humans.
We all make mistakes, right theF-bomb a time or two or three
or four, since you know I'vesubmitted my life to God, but he

(17:09):
is there.
He makes mistakes, but you votefor the person that their
policies, their voting forpolicies, align with our value
system, and our value system isbased on God's value system and

(17:34):
biblical standards.
And you try to find thecandidate all up and down the
ticket, starting at the mainoffice president, vice president
, down to your congressman, yoursenators, your state
representatives, your statejudges, all of that stuff.
Learn the candidates, don'tjust listen to the news.

(17:58):
Learn the candidates.
Know who you are voting for andvote for the ones that vote
according to your ethics.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Right, and let's not let personalities come into that
.
Let's not let you know thosekind of things.
You're not picking a pastor.
You're not voting for a pastor.
You're not voting for a churchleader.
You're voting for someone to runthis country or that office of

(18:28):
voting age, did their homeworkon candidates, and every
christian went out and votedevery election cycle we could
take the country back realeasily we could take it back
real easily but there'sstatistics that have come out
and I don't know the exactnumbers, but there's a huge

(18:49):
amount of christians who won'tvote at all, like they'll just
sit at home because they don'tlike either candidate, and that
messes things up.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Right, but you have to get out and vote.
You have to let your voice beheard.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Right.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
And so that's the bare minimum.
Pray for your leaders and vote, but I encourage you, if you
have the wherewithal, go run fora school board.
Go run for your local citycouncil.
If you've got it in it, run tobe a state representative

(19:29):
representative.
Get involved.
If you're not running, go toyour local city council meetings
.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
Let your voice be heard.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Be involved.
Let your voice be heard.
Let them hear what the peopleare wanting, that are, their
constituents had to think of theword there for a second.
Constituents had to think ofthe word there for a second.
But my whole purpose forwanting to talk about this is
just to give encouragement toour listeners that God is in
control and we need to beinvolved if we want to continue

(20:11):
to see America making this turntowards what is right and what
is good and what is pleasing toGod.
We have to get involved.
We have to stay involved here.
In three years we will enteranother election cycle for the
president Be involved cycle forthe president be involved.

(20:35):
In two years we're going to bein an election cycle for for
different senators andcongressmen and state governors.
And just be involved, right, um?

Speaker 2 (20:46):
and don't go into fear.
Don't allow fear to creep inwhen it comes to politics and
what you see on the news.
Stay in prayer.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Stay in prayer and allow God to show you.
We listen to several differentvoices and one of the prophets
that we listen to and take heartto what they say.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Because they have a proven track record.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
They have a proven, documented track record.
I mean one of his propheciesthat he received from God well
before Donald Trump was everelected.
The first time he prophesiedtalking about how God was going
to raise up a man out of NewYork City to lead this country

(21:39):
and bring it back.
And that man was coming up outof New York City out of the
ashes of our hurt and our pain, referring to 9-11.
And where's Trump?

Speaker 2 (21:52):
from.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
New York, new York.
And so this prophet that welisten to, he has many
documented prophecies from God,that a lot of them have come to
pass, some still haven't, somestill haven't.
But he's trusted and I reallyfeel that he is a prophet of God

(22:18):
, a modern-day prophet of God,and that God speaks to him, to
speak to not only his church, but to the nation.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Yeah, he's a national prophet.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
He prophesied Trump coming.
He prophesied this whole thingwith Iran and Israel coming.
So do not be afraid, do not bealarmed when things happen.
Trust and know that God is incontrol.
Yep, again, I look at thiscountry and I see what God is

(22:51):
doing and I see the turn, notjust in leadership but in the
country as a whole, and I wantto see that continue.

(23:16):
And it's going to take everysingle Christian praying, voting
, getting involved, not backingdown, not shying away from God.
So I want to pray for boldness, for people, and this is big for
me because I don't.
Every industry, every workenvironment that I've ever been
in, you know politics is asubject you stray away from.
So, outside of talking politicswith you and a few closest
friends, I really don't do it awhole lot.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
I do.
Ask me how I feel about things, ask me what I believe, and I
will tell you.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
But we need to be more vocal and we need to not be
afraid of what people willthink about us, what they'll say
about us, maybe even whatthey'll do to us.
But it is our job as Christiansto stand strong on the word of
God and to proclaim his truth.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
And if we continue doing that, we will continue to
see our country go in thedirection that God wants us to
go, and when that happens, thecountry's blessed.
And when the country is blessed, that means each and every
person living in that country isblessed, and they will reap the

(24:27):
benefits of living in a countrythat is being blessed by God
Right, of living in a countrythat is being blessed by God
Right.
Did you have anything?

Speaker 2 (24:39):
else that you want to add.
I think I'm good.
