Jesus Christ is the central figure of Christianity, believed by Christians to be the Son of God, the Messiah (or "Anointed One"), and the Savior of the world. He is also regarded by many as a profound moral teacher and spiritual leader, even outside of Christian faith traditions.
Birthplace:
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, a small town in Judea (modern-day West Bank), around 4–6 B.C., during the reign of King Herod. His birth fulfilled ancient Jewish prophecies about the coming of a Messiah.
Who He Is:
According to the Bible, Jesus is both fully divine and fully human. He was born to a young virgin named Mary, through a miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, taught with authority, and showed compassion to the poor, the sick, and the outcast.
His Mission:
Jesus came to reveal God's love and to provide a way for humanity to be reconciled to God. He willingly gave His life on the cross, dying as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. Three days later, He rose from the dead—a foundational belief in Christianity—demonstrating victory over sin and death. His resurrection confirmed His identity and mission as the Savior.
Legacy:
Jesus’ life, teachings, death, and resurrection are recorded in the New Testament of the Bible. His message has transformed billions of lives and continues to offer hope, forgiveness, and eternal life to those who believe in Him and follow Him.
