Rick Sanchez welcomes show producer Scotty Mednick and Dr. Mark Feinberg, research professor at Penn State University, to discuss sibling rivalries and the effect they can have on a family. Dr. Feinberg asserts that the most accurate predictor of happiness and wellness in your life is the type of relationship that you have with your sibling simply because it is the longest relationship will ever have. The sibling relationship is actually more delicate than the relationship with a parent because you are both equals and must cultivate the relationship dynamic. The sibling relationship is given to you, you do not choose it. You must deal with the ups and downs and cannot terminate the relationship like you can with a friend or a love interest. Sanchez concludes that the sibling relationship is unique because it is the only one where you can hate them and love them at the same time.
