Gas Prices, Insider Trading & Lobbyist Compliance

Today we discuss social issues and ethical practices that occur in our nation's capital. We also tackle lobbyists, gas prices, stocks, insider trading and many more interesting topics. Insider trading is the trading of a company’s stocks or other securities by individuals with access to confidential or non-public information about the company. Taking advantage of this privileged access is considered a breach of the individual’s duties. For many years, members of Congress have routinely exploited legal loopholes to engage in insider trading and line their own pockets — which of course is a criminal offense for all citizens. Do you think it’s fair, even in a free society, that members of government are allow to trade stocks?
