I’m taking questions from friends and …. Not friends from across the internet, Lara answers listener questions on a wide range of topics, from her favorite pastry to make at home and why it’s more labor-intensive than it looks, to what Republicans must do to clearly communicate their message heading into the midterms. Lara breaks down what she believes the GOP’s winning pitch should be, weighs in on Trump baby accounts, and shares the issue she is most eager to focus on as the country looks ahead to 2026.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Hey, everybody, welcome back to another episode of Laura Trump
Wanted for questioning. Let's just go into it. There's no
reason to wait it out. We're just jumping in question
number one. Here we go, Oh, what's your favorite pastry
to make? Well, pastry or dessert. So I'm a pastry chef.
But what comes with being a pastry chef is that

(00:28):
you make a lot of desserts. Right, you make breads
and whatever, all that kind of stuff, but it kind
of entails just like sweet stuff. My favorite dessert to make,
or favorite dessert that I make that other people love
is this chocolate peppermint trifle that I basically make every
year for either Christmas or Thanksgiving. It's a staple in

(00:50):
my family Christmases or Thanksgivings, and if I don't make it,
there's somebody hugely upset. Now, truth be told, This actually
originated from Martha Stewart. I mean, she's the og cat.
Get any better than Martha, And I kind of took
this recipe made it my own, and it's very labor intensive.
So you have to start like two days before. You

(01:11):
start with a chocolate moose and then you make like
a chocolate pudding and you kind of have to grind
up all of these peppermint treats and then you put
them in, you fold it in. You got to make
the cake, you got to make the syrup. And then
a trifle is like a layer of dessert. So you
put it all together and this beautiful displayed kind of

(01:34):
like clear glass displayed set up and it's it's beautiful
and it tastes amazing, but it also has to sit
and get ready for like at least twelve hours, So
it's it's a whole process every Christmas something like that. Now,
the pastry I'm probably most proud to have ever made
is puff pastry. Now, if you've ever seen puff pastry,

(01:56):
it literally puffs in the oven. And the reason it levens,
the reason and it like expands like that in the
oven is because it's got layer upon layer of dough
with butter. And then when you put in the oven,
the butter melts and it releases steam and that causes
it to rise. Now, to make this, you have to

(02:17):
literally roll it out and do a certain way. You
fold it and put it back in the refrigerator and
wait and then roll it out and you do this
like I don't even know, like thirty different times. I
actually will never forget my pastry chef professor telling us,
once you learn how to make puff pastry, I'm gonna
tell you right now, as your professor, don't ever make

(02:39):
it again. Just go out and buy it, because you're
never gonna get better than what they make, and you
can buy in the store. So since then, I've never
made puff pastry, but I'm very proud to say that
I made it. So so there's that, I hope I
answer your question. Next question, what should the pitch for
Republicans be and the midterms? Well, how about everything that

(03:04):
has gone on since Donald Trump came back to the
White House. How about this Congress right now that Republicans
have a slim majority in actually standing their ground and
trying to do the right thing and standing together, by
the way, for the first time in a long time
that I can remember, I think you got to talk
about all of the great things that have happened because

(03:27):
of Republicans all across the country and all around the world.
I mean, my god, Donald Trump so far has ended
eight wars around the world and obviously stopped what Joe
Biden allowed to happen. A complete disaster in the Middle East,
a war in the Middle East, around from getting a
nuclear weapon. Obviously, we're hoping to see the end of

(03:48):
the war between Russia and Ukraine at some point very soon.
But America's energy independence once again. Gas prices finally coming
back down to three dollars or below a gallon national average.
That's happening in America, and what is that prompting. That's
prompting prices across the board to go down as well.
One of the dumbest moves Joe Biden made was cutting

(04:09):
off the Keystone Excel pipeline. First decision he made, first
executive order he signed and actually signed I guess physically
not the autopen when he got into the White House.
That set a path and kind of like a just
a tidal wave effect on everything in our country to
become more expensive. Because when gas is more expensive, then
it costs more to transport things. The prices have to

(04:31):
go up. You get how it happens. It's just kind
of this like ricochet effect. So that is something I
would talk a lot about. You know what we were
talking about a year ago. Right now, egg prices like
through the roof, egg prices are back down now to
a normal number. I think they were like over four
dollars a dozen when Joe Biden was in office. Donald
Trump now has them down around two dollars a dozen.

(04:53):
Cut it right in half. I think you have to
talk about all of the things like that were actually
in the big beautiful bill. Tax on tips, no tax
on overtime, no tax on social Security, all of those
things people are going to feel starting this coming year,
and I think they need to remind Americans about that.

(05:13):
And then I don't know, maybe the most secure southern
border in the history of our country. Zero zero people
crossing the border and illegally coming into the United States
of America. That's right, zero releases into this country. Holy smokes.
When did we ever think we were going to see that?
And not only that, but ensuring that we keep the

(05:35):
fentanyl that is killing Americans by the hundreds of thousands
a year out of our country. We're not even allowing
it to come onto our soil, obviously not through the
southern border, but also we're not allowing it to come
in at any port location either. Because Donald Trump sees
the boats coming, the narco terrorists coming, their foreign terrorist

(05:57):
organizations and he's just designated fentanyl as a weapon of
mass destruction. So we wanted out and he's saying, you
know what, you come and bring that in, I'm gonna
bomb your vote. You're done. It's not even gonna happen.
So I think we have to talk about all of
those things. How about bringing back American pride and patriotism.

(06:17):
That's something that maybe we don't talk about enough. America
is back. You can feel it. We are respected again
on the world stage. It's like dad finally got home
and the kids are finally paying attention. That's what's happened
in America. And what else do you want? Safety and security,
you know, financial freedom and the ability to achieve the

(06:39):
American dream, which Donald Trump is trying to bring back
every single day. The investment that you see coming back
into America, the trade deals that he's already made are
benefiting Americans. The tariffs, by the way, have brought in
so much money that were actually able to pay down
some of our national debt. Again, when did you ever
think you were going to hear something like that happening?

(07:00):
But this president is actually doing it. And so I
think you have to talk about all the wins and
talk about all the things that have happened as a
result of President Trump in the White House, but also
as a result of the members of Congress working alongside
of him, of course on the Republican side of the isle,
because when it comes to anything that this president wants

(07:20):
to do, we know the Democrats are going to vote
against it. They voted every single time to keep the
government shut down. Don't forget that. I think it was
like fifteen times they voted to keep the government shut
down until finally there were enough of them that they said,
all right, that's it, We've got to do something. Open
this government backup. So we got to talk about the wins,

(07:41):
and we have to remind people that, you know, midterm
election years generally don't have as many people enthusiastic to
come out and vote. You know, our guy one and
our team won essentially in twenty twenty four, twenty twenty six.
You kind of stop paying attention. You're kind of tuned out.
You're like, I don't know, I'm just gonna say, I'm
gonna sit this one out. No, if you want to

(08:02):
keep things going in this direction, you better get out
and vote. You know what, the Democrats are going to
do whenever they have a majority in the House and Senate.
You have any idea what's coming for US statehood for
Puerto Rico and Washington DC. Yep, that's right. Packing the
Supreme Court. They've already talked about doing all this and
eliminating the filibuster, which President Trump warned about. So don't

(08:25):
get it twisted. You better get nervous about this. You
can't sit back and relax and say I have but
a Donald Trump's president. He's got to have help from
Congress as well. And they are also, don't kid yourself
on this either, going to try and impeach him again
if they ever get the majority back. So let's get out,
let's vote, get those low propensity voters out, make sure

(08:46):
we're cleaning the voter rolls, make sure we're you know,
watching like a hawk at the polling locations. There's a
nice blueprint and somebody left at the RNC. All they
have to do is plug and play, get it done
again in twenty twenty six. I think we're going to
be in very good shape, all right. Olga is seventy
nine years old. She lives in a small village where
she has no indoor plumbing, bathroom, or reliable heating. Her

(09:11):
meager pension is not enough to cover food, medicine, and heat.
But thanks to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews,
Olga received a nourishing food box, emergency lighting, and a
warm blanket. This aid is a life saving gift for
someone like Olga. The visit from Fellowship staff reminded her

(09:31):
she's not forgotten. Now, as another brutal winter begins, thousands
of elderly Jews like Olga are praying for a miracle,
and you can be that miracle through a special matching grant.
Your gift today has twice the impact up to the
first fifty thousand dollars, So don't delay. Your gift today

(09:51):
will help provide the life saving food and hope that
Olga and many like her so desperately need to donate.

Orders placed between now and December twenty fifth will have
their guarantee extended all the way through March first, twenty
twenty six. Next question, what's one topic you want to

(11:39):
talk about more on your podcast in twenty twenty six.
We talk about a lot of things. I mean, look,
I take all these questions. There's there's no holds barred here.
We'll talk about anything and everything. You know. I actually
I love talking about like the Maha stuff. Obviously, health
fitness like all that is just sew up my alley

(12:02):
in something that I do every day anyway, and you know,
a part of my life and has been for a
long time. But I think that it's becoming more mainstreamers
at least people are talking about it more. We got
the Maha movement going on, We've got RFK Junior, We've
got this president who's allowing transparency on a level like
we've never seen in terms of our health and in

(12:24):
terms of our pharmaceuticals, et cetera. So I think it's
a good time to talk more about that. And you know,
I don't mind talking about kids. I got two kids,
and I think that we have to we got to
think about them as the next generation. We got to
do right by them, whether it's the food they're eating,
and maybe that's like a Maha type thing, or you

(12:44):
know what they're doing on a day to day basis.
We can't be lazy parents. We can't just say like, hey, here,
you take this and go go do this. I'm gonna
be over here doing my own thing. No, we've got
to get engaged with our kids. We have to try
a little bit harder to keep them off of the devices.
We know how dangerous it is, we know what can
happen as a result of them being on there with

(13:06):
these predators and all these complete lunatics and freaks out there.
But that aside just the way it operates in their
brain to look at a screen like this all the time.
It triggers really bad stuff in their brains. Their brains
are growing. We got to do better. So I wouldn't
mind talking more about that in twenty twenty six as well.
And dogs, dogs are always on the agena for me,

(13:27):
So bring all those on. I hope we talk more
about that coming up very soon. Okay, here we have
a final question. What do you think of the new
Trump accounts for new babies? Oh, this is another thing
we can add to our list of why you should
vote Republican in twenty twenty six. I think it's great.

(13:48):
Look this president, as I just said once, to give
every American their shot at the American dream. And what
better way to do it than giving a leg up
to the next generation of American And you get to
start these savings accounts. They get a thousand dollars in
them when your child is born and you open it up,
and that's free money. And if you invest it the

(14:10):
right way and allow it to compound the right way,
that could be a lot of money by the time
these kids reach adulthood. And that's starting them out in
a really great place. When they become a little bit older,
either they have money to buy a house, start a business,
invest in something else that could be fruitful for themselves
in this country. It's a great thing. And you know what,

(14:30):
only President Trump would think of something like this. Who
else even thought about it, who else even wanted to
go down this path? Nobody thought about it. This was
just like, this is a very Donald Trump type thing
to see happen. But it's great. Find me something wrong
with that. I'm sure the Democrats will figure out a
way to find something wrong with this. But I think
it's a great thing and maybe we should be. In

(14:53):
addition to that, I'll just throw this out there as
food for thought. Teaching financial literacy to our kids in school.
You know, they learn a lot of woke nonsense pronouns,
even though they probably didn't learn about pronouns in their
English class. They're learning about what pronouns their classmates are.
Whether or not it actually tracks with that person's biological

(15:16):
gender is neither here nor there. For these people learning
about the political leanings of their teachers a lot of times,
let's just add in there. In addition to getting back
to the basics. In addition to general math reading, you know,
let's continue teaching cursive in schools as well. And let's

(15:38):
not do any more of this revisionist history. Let's get
back to the real history of America and the world.
Our kids can handle it. I promise they can handle it.
Let's teach them how to deal with money. Let's teach
them what you know different ways are to compound your money,
and how interests accrues, and how you know what a

(15:58):
mortgage is. How they're going to have to operate as
adults one day, because I think there's a lot of
people that could benefit from that. All right. That's going
to do it for us for this episode of Lara
