In this episode of The Roadshow with Tony Justice and Friends, I’m excited to welcome Kylla Lanier, co-founder of Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT). Kylla’s not only a friend but a true hero in the fight against human trafficking. We dive into the incredible work that TAT is doing to combat trafficking and why the trucking industry plays such a vital role. Kylla takes us back to TAT’s beginnings and explains how she’s been working for 15 years to educate, equip, and empower truckers to spot the signs of trafficking. Thousands of lives have been impacted by drivers who’ve used TAT’s training to step up and help, and Kylla shares exactly how powerful our industry’s eyes on the road can be.
Kylla and I talk about some of the key signs to look for to recognize trafficking, and she walks us through how to safely report any suspicious activity. This work is personal for me, and I’m proud to have supported TAT over the years, even featuring their contact info on my CDs to help get the word out. We also touch on what’s ahead for TAT, including the Driving Change Project, a new mobile exhibit set to tour the country, raising awareness about trafficking and the ways truckers can help fight it.
