What does it take to feel satisfied in a job? Here are 5 important attributes Rob examines in this episode:
- Work
- What is it? Do you like what you do? Is it challenging? Are there opportunities for learning?
- Product
- What service does the company provide? Can you take pride in it?
- People
- Do you respect the people you work with? Are they supportive?
- Career Path
- Does the company celebrate internal promotions?
- Compensation
- How much do you need for living expenses and savings? What are other benefits the company offers?
If you find a job in which you’re satisfied in all 5 attributes, that’s a home run. Most people are happy with 3-4 attributes being in the positive zone, and that’s OK. Picking a job matching only 1 or 2 attributes will not make you happy.
