Hello, ladies and gentlemen, Welcomeback to the Rundown. I am your
host Evan from High Media TV andalong with my with my co host mister
Brian noot T or Tega. Well, this is episod number fifteen of the
Rundown. Pleasure to have you all, and like Brian, me and my
partner have been completely obsessed and playingNonStop Fallout four. Of course, it's

(00:30):
it's the fallower right now with thebest mechanics that isn't online with an online
element, and not that Fallout seventysix is bad because they definitely updated the
hell out of it. It's missit's mid. It's not bad. It's
mid, but it's not bad. It's it. It's two things going for
it. One, it's gotten probablythe healthiest like online community with like the

(00:53):
least amount of toxicity right relative toits patriots, especially relative to the rest
of the pathestic communities. And twoit's multiplayer Fallout. It's multiplayer with that
gimmick, Like I get the ideafor the love of it, but I'm
just like, ah, I evenhaven't got it for free from PlayStation.

(01:15):
I'm just like, ah, really, if you have, if unless you're
like a Fallout junkie like me,or you just are just you. You
You have played for to death andyou just want more. Like there's there's
three reasons to play Fallout news rightone. You've played Fallout four to death

(01:38):
mods are with with or without mods. You and you're just you played it
to death and you're done with itand you just you want more. It's
just there's no there's nothing else youcan do. You're kicking a dead horse.
Yeah yeah, so like you needyou want a new fresh space with
new content mechanics and a steady streamof which you are I just follow a

(02:00):
junkie like myself and you and youand you enjoy it. You want a
easy to pick up, easy toput down type of like game that isn't
fucking league, that is a PVcentric type of game that isn't fucking you
know, going to like expect youto like have to. Like there's the

(02:22):
the PvP scene in seventy six isdead and the community kill them people.
Don't get me wrong. The PvPcon the p PvP in Fallout seventy six
a lot of fun, a lotof enjoy very enjoyable, especially with when
it's spontaneous. It's just people wantto play fun little wasteland game. They

(02:51):
don't necessarily want to. They wanttheir ship, they want their ship preserve.
You know. Yeah, it's it'sit's it's It's like if you want
to play something like c IF Thieves, where it's like, you know,
fun little like adventure game and shitwithout all the pde P bullshit, seventy
six is your bag. And lastly, you want to play fall Out four
with your friends? Makes sense? But back to fall Out four, Yes,

(03:15):
back to fall At four. Yeah, I mean, I hear it.
I think it is just a refreshingtake. Don't get me wrong.
Like I've been talking about for thelast few weeks, I'm added Fallout three,
getting into minding fall Out in NewVegas, then trying out tell the
two waists. But uh yeah, man, just Fallout four is a fun

(03:37):
fucking experience. It is like, here's my thing, right, is the
Does the dialogue system hinder what otherwisewould have like like the options of what
would have otherwise been an amazing game? Yeah? It does, But you
know, I will say, likeit's tight the gun look as the best

(04:00):
gun play in the series because itssoftware came in and tweets and ship it
feels. It feels good to play, like it's software. Are like the
like they they created the shooter, you know, they create they may do.
They made Sign, they may do, you know. So it's like

(04:21):
like they like they made they madeWolf and Sign the precursor to all Boomers,
shoots to all shooters, and thenthey may do the thing they actually
said it in the spotlight, youknow. Like so it's you know,
the the shooting in for is stellary. The melee combat something to be desired,

(04:41):
Like I want the block button tobe a hold button. Okay,
like I shouldn't. I shouldn't justdo like a like a quick block and
that's it. No, But Ido like the changes made with Jet compared
to the previous games. Or insteadof just increasing your action points quickly,
it just makes it so you're ableto line up a shot to a fast

(05:03):
moving enemy. Very helpful. Meadowis very much playing this game. Like
here's how I love to play Falloutfour, right. I like to arduously
grind to like twenty twenty five, get some solid weaponry, go to Nukel
World. Do all of Nukel Worldget the perks for like siding with the

(05:26):
Raiders, finish Nukel World, killthe Raiders, then go to Conquered and
start the minute Man. Well, you could go to Nukele World at any
level. You just have you absolutely, you absolutely can. Here's the thing
with Nukel World and spoilers for Fallof four Nukele World. It's been out

(05:48):
for over a decade. I don'twant to hear it, but still just
spoiler warning it. The gunners atthe train station are strong. Those are
gonna prevent you from getting through levelslike anybody less sub ten instantly gonna die

(06:09):
to them getting into Once you getonto the tram into Neuprola proper, you're
in the gauntlet. The gauntlets. The gauntlet is not necessarily easy. The
big thing you're gonna need are stimpackedrats. You're gonna hit a lot of
reds or in the world of Traps, things of that nature. Here's my
thing, right, if you knowwhat to expect, which like I kind

(06:32):
of like do, that's all welland good. But you have a pretty
you know, substantial boss fight towardsthe end there at when you start the
game at level thirty, when youstart the you'll see at level thirty and
you have like level thirty like upgradesand gear and stat points, then you
are kind of you know you're ina good spot. But but like even

(06:56):
then, you have to swap betweenyou know, the boss mechanic and the
attack and the bottlechanic in the attack. And it's not it's not easy,
it's not convenient. It's it ishard. And unless you have the stat
unless you have the weapons to takethem down and the armor to block the
attacks, you're going to have ahard time. The minimum you can do
it is like level twenty, whichis where I'm at right now in my

(07:19):
game. And I'm just sort ofI'm just sort of I like to do
the way I like to do thingsin order is before I even start the
main plus before I even go andsave Nick Valentine. I like to do
au tumaton. I like to geta traumaton done. I like to get

(07:40):
Spectacle Island claimed, and I liketo set up a robot and and vegetables
starch farm there, and then Isee and then for and then for my
care. And here's a fun tipfor you, because I don't know if
you know this. Whenever you setout send out a settler to you know,

(08:03):
be a part of the network, right, Yeah, the supply lines,
the supply lines. That settler countstowards your population. Yes, you
can only have a population of Ithink twenty one banks, mhm and so,
and there's like twenty fucking locations inthe game. So you know,

(08:24):
what do you do when you well, normal people would like have to this
one goes this one and then thisone, that one in the networks.
This one is your own, zoar. What I do is something that breaks
breaks that. Here's the thing.Yes, you can only have you can
only have a limit of like twentyone settlers at a location, but if

(08:46):
you craft a robot with automaton, the automaton DLC, you can go higher
than that. So what Spectacle Islanderturns into is you have one ten robots
focusing exclusively on cultivating mutfruit, cornand potatoes, which you just go out,

(09:11):
which you just go out and likepick intermittently yourself. Because while yes,
they will deposit a portion of theminto the the workshop, there's a
maximum that which will be the whichbe you know, you know, so
if you have a deal of them, if you pick them all yourselves,
you're gonna get in a legal dumpthose into your workshop. You will do

(09:33):
the same thing with your water purification. And then what you do is you
craft your You craft your vegetable startsto throw it back into the thing sow.
And then while you're doing all that, to make sure adhesive is never
an issue for you again, youuse the robot workbench. All of your

(09:54):
workers are robots, but not asingle human is on the island, not
one, because when it's all robots, happiness is never an issue. I
should get attacked if shit gets down. As long as you have crafted robots
eight accounts as a follower, youcan't you cannot have her there. You
can make it so you can basicallyturn Spectacle Island the one island at the

(10:18):
low southeast portion of the maps outof yang Z. You can turn this
into the hub that connects all ofyour other settlements. That's also where real
quack. That's also where the luckbabble head is it in the green chip

(10:39):
is I think it might be.I think you might be right, and
then that's where it is. Themiler queen. Uh No, you're thinking
of not Spectacle Island, You're thinkingof the castle. No, there's one
Inspectacle Island too. When to enablethe workshop Aspectil Island, you have to
basically turn on the myer Lerk talentnoise thing, and when you turn on

(11:05):
the generator on the boat, Mamamyer Ler gets mad. Wow. Okay,
yeah. And so after I doall that, and I get all
my supply lines set up, nowevery time I can, I can just
teleport anywhere where that's a that's settlement, drop my ship and just keep it
pushing. Right from after I doall that, when once I'm met kind
of at the point it takes SpectralIsland to do automaton, I'm ready for

(11:28):
I go to Nukele World and we'lldo all of the theme parks and do
all of that. And by thetime I'm done Nukele World and I've achieved
everything, I've subjugated like one ortwo places in the wasteland and and finished
the main quest, hopefully gotten PorterGauge. It like max up my affinity
with Porter Gauge and gotten you know, his his companion perk. After that,

(11:52):
I then get the kill all theRaiders quests from the lady at the
market. Kill all of the raiders, and you know, then I and
then after that's done, I canactually play the game. I can go
to Conquered and save Breast of Garvy. That would sit and then go boy

(12:13):
save m Valentine and the whole ninemonths. And what that does is is
that it sort of puts me ona level of fucking right. It puts
me on a level of I asa character, am stacked at this point.
I have the because because one ofthe things that that you if you

(12:33):
are do, if you are goingto pick up like automatic weapons, the
only weapon you need in the gameonce you get to Newgle World. Once
you get once you have access toNewicle World market and you have the caps
afford it, the only weapon youwill ever need in the game is the
is the uh uh seventh seven fiftyseven rifle legendary that can be bought from

(12:56):
one of the merchants of the marketplace. Well, let's hold on, let's
let's back up, because you've beentalking about the ship for ten to fifteen
minutes. I'm so sorry. Relax, you're like a little dog, You're
like a puppy. Let's yeah, let's go from the beginning here. What's
the first perk you usually pick upI always pick scrounder in the beginning of

(13:16):
the game. Scrounder is that shipI pick up, I backs out scrounder
usually myself perk myself, but it'susually not the first one I go for.
The first one I usually go foris so my build spread uh is
usually to agility is usually uh,it's usually like one luck to agility,

(13:41):
something like nine intelligence, ten charisma, one endurance, like four perception for
strength. Why don't usually I usuallygo for a more balanced, more balanced
than like five, six and everythingelse but five and like strength and endurance.

(14:05):
Yeah, because here, here's why, and I I have a reason
for all this, right, sointelli. So having that high intelligence basically
gives you access to all of theperks that you're going to meet. I'm
gonna name my playthrough for crafting andbuilding same thing. Uh, three to
four points and strength gives me accessto the armor on the armor perk.

(14:28):
The extra point and strength is justsalt solely for so I can have more
carry weight. The two the twopoints in perception of the hand. The
three to four points in perception areto get me to the lot bigger skill,
uh endurance. Listen, I'm gonnabe stacking armor and I'm gonna be
sta stacking, buying and using shipsout of stickpacks, you know, once

(14:52):
you hit level. Once I hitlevel fifteen sixteen, like I'm not dying
till in like the Yes, theimpacts are never an issue in the game
early game they are like like earlyearly going, you die a lot with
this build, but once you getpast like ten to fifteen, you're good.
But if you real quick, ifyou access the what is it the

(15:13):
root cellar and sanctuary and also goto the water tower, they're both purified
water and stimpacts are both fine.Yeah, ultimately, you know. I
also what I will say, likemy my usual build for UH Fallout is
like is like it's like it's usuallylike four, like like three four.

(15:37):
One, you know is usually strength, strength, three, perception, four
endurance, one charisma nine Intelligence islike seven, Agility is like two and
lot. It's like one or twopoints and the reason and the reason I
put in and I use a specialbook underneath Sean's crib to give me my

(16:00):
ten point charrisma because ten charisma carriesyou through the first ten mothers easy,
easy, and most of the gamebecause it'll because you are no charisma.
The reason I say charisma is becauseyou can avoid most combat encounters that that

(16:22):
like, like, if there's acombat encounter that involves like talking first,
you can talk your way out.Yeah, but I'll just say, like
real quick saves coming in the gameis so easy compared to Fallout three in
New Vegas because you can't you can'tpause in the middle of the dialogue interaction,
and four you can. No problem, it absolutely is. But the

(16:45):
bigger thing is that the big thingthat you need in early game caps caps,
caps, cap aps, and youcan go to a Drumlin diner,
and you can extort a wolfgang forall of his money. You can and
and and for basically most you know, lower like introductory like side quests and

(17:06):
stuff. You can say, ifyou pay me, if you pay me
x amount of caps, if youpay me, if like you basically like
get four hundred caps out of everyperson and not failed because you don't feel
those speech checks, and so moneybecomes less of an issue for you,
and you're able to approve it ata faster rate. This allows you to
buy the bullets you need, theimpacts you need, and everything that's given

(17:27):
that house wish you want, andthat's fart. I'm just say charisma,
charisma and four. Specifically, Ifeel like it's not necessarily useful to max
it out in the beginning. Ifeel like you have a better chance of
vaccine on intelligence only because the what'sit gone, the amount of XPU gain

(17:49):
is higher. See that That's partof the reason I put it like a
six or of seven. Mm hmm. Like I don't mind that, Like
I don't mind having my intelligence beinglike I put that into a charisma because
it makes it so when I hita speech check that bitch passes, especially

(18:10):
early again because that because the thingis is that most they don't expect you
to like go ten into charisma inthe early games, so the speech checks
are lower, you know, soyou know, the only the things where
you're like, you'd have to haveten to get it. What will we'll
do it. So it's like everytime I see a red one and it's
that are like leveled below level fifteen, I'm good. Yeah, but I

(18:34):
just feel like I just feel like, I don't know, I feel like
especially with luck itself, because bloodymess is a great perk to have,
and that's not until luck level likethree or four better criticals and banking criticals
are both fucking amazing. Person Idon't use that. And Reaper, Ah,

(18:57):
you don't use That's totally respect. But a fucking VATS base build with
Grim Reaper sprint or whatever it's called, where you kill an enemy and fucking
Vats and then you get your actionpoints back. Oh, it's amazing,
amazing you can mow down a wholefucking like vault full of people. Oh
yeah, no, I know it'sgoofy, but you know, My thing

(19:19):
is is that, like, Idon't really get behind the and I don't
think you do either, but theidiots avant leveling up thing where it's like
you keep placing random objects in sanctuaryor wherever in your settlements and then you
level up back quickly. Here's canI be honest with you? Mhmm,

(19:40):
you are much. I've done it. I've done the test side by side,
and I've found that while like youmay not gain the same amount of
level if you, you might gainmore levels in an hour than you would
gain in three. My thing isis that if you just play the game

(20:03):
for like three hours and like godo quests and shit and just you know,
actually play the game like quests andkill things, fight and like,
do you think like you're good?Like you you will get you know,
ten to level ten in fucking notime. Yeah, I'm saying more so
like level seventy five. Shit,it's been a fucking while since you leveled

(20:26):
up, and you're like, I'malmost there. I'm tired of doing these
fucking quests. Let me just placea few goal goal posts in fucking sanctuary
and scrap them. But I'm notgonna lie to you. I didn't know
that pipe pistols, Sorry, Ididn't know that pipe pistols are the main
source of copper. So I've beenleaving them on the fucking ground and in

(20:47):
bodies and shit, I'm getting intothe power now because I just did the
Vaultech DLC, so now I havelike that's a fun one power. Yeah.
So I think I'm going to gothrough and do that West line again,
especially on stream, because there's theaam Is shaping cay Do. That's
very funny and they'll be great forstream. But well, normally, if

(21:11):
I'm just playing and I and Ijust want access to the to the space,
I just the overseer grab the shipoff her body and question is over.
But I will say, like, hav any other stuff that you get
access to, just if you dolike the base level stuff, it's it's

(21:32):
really good, I will say.I will say this like I do.
I do think that you know, fall Up four gets like in hindsight,
has got way too much fucking hatefor what it was like, and I
feel like it was just to defendthe reaction at the time. I feel

(21:55):
like it was a lot of theyreceived a less quality game, not necessarily
in mechanics, but like in theinteractions, especially with the dialogue choices and
compared to New Vegas, which wasObsidian's magnum opus, like they really went
in debt with dialogue and RPG elements. I feel like that's why I fall

(22:21):
Out four got the reaction it did. Doesn't mean that it deserves it because
I definitely agree with you, butI understand why the dialogue and I follow
now. Don't get me wrong.I think the voice acting. The voice
acting has certainly did a good jobwith it, especially with how it's more
expressive the models are compared to theprevious game. But I will say that

(22:44):
as an RPG, it's it's let'sbe an RPG. And boar. It's
it's unfortunate, but that that's thembreaks. I do think though that as
far as you know followed for asconcerned, I do think that the things
that it does remarkably like well isit like Metal isn't playing fallow Metal.

(23:07):
My girlfriend is currently in the otherroom right fall Out four. She's not
playing Fallout four. She's playing NucaCola simps. She is treating, she
is treating the settlement system as youknow, the SIMS, and you know
what, that is a completely validway to play. And honestly, I

(23:36):
tell people like, hey, ifyou like Fallen and you want your partner
to like fall Out as well, and they have the SIMS in strong on
a machine somewhere and they probably do, give them Fallout four. No,
I don't care if New Vegas isbetter, give them fall Out four,

(23:59):
because they there is gameplay there thatthey will love and enjoy and spend so
much time on that. Eventually,by virtue, have you play the game,
you have to go and do othershit. You have to go out
and explore and get loop so thatyou can break down and use to build
more shit. So they have togo and play Fallout and so they will

(24:22):
experience the game. Is it thetype of version of the game that you
wanted? Maybe not, but youknow of the world that you wanted,
but maybe not. But you knowwhat, at the end of the day,
you know what's gonna happen. Youknow, in twenty thirty three when
they release fall Out five, everybody'sgonna you're you're, you're going to be
you're going to be paying, You'regoing to be you know, paying for

(24:45):
two new copies of it with companiesscript at the at the at the town
you're indentured to. I will alsosay, like, that's why the you
know, creators of the game putit in there. It's a popular premise,
it's a popular mechanic. A lotof people really like the creativity of
it all. You could do alot of shit, especially with the electric

(25:10):
the fact that they added elevators, because I don't think that was in the
base game original contraptions, contraptions,Holy fucking shit. Yeah. If it
wasn't for that, I would havenever built anything. But because you could
actually have the elevator go up thelevel and then actually build off of that,
like thank god. Yeah, Ibet the Moone and Metal win haves

(25:33):
he's on the Game of the Yearedition because it was like sixteen bucks.
Yeah, insane. I think rightafter the show on PlayStation it was like
ten or eleven dollars. So Iwas like, sure, I'll pick it
up, give me your edition.Of course, I was like, show.
I mean it is the preferred versionof the game. I was wasteful

(25:57):
with my money in the past andvon every single creation on the creation.
Uh, you didn't have to dothat. I didn't, but I did.
And you know, there's some coolship. There's some cool ship that
comes with it. Not worth allthe money I spent, but cool nonetheless.

(26:21):
But like they added I don't knowif it's on the PC version or
whatever version she's playing, but theyadded in the update a lot of creation
stuff, the enclave stuff. Random. Want to be very clear, they
added a lot, I know,not everything, trust I don't. Hey,

(26:42):
Lily, how you doing? Sorryfor all of the pod people listening
to the podcast audily or watching thislike after the fact, I am.
I am currently live streaming while weare recording this podcast. Uh, find
me at each I me dot ggslash live fun fun but yeah, but

(27:08):
yeah, no, I've been We'vebeen playing at you know what else been
playing a lot of which I thinkyou and Nuelia and probably what's your name
again? I'm so sorry if lookingasshole Ellen, all three of you probably
could get it. Hella into playingtogether? What starting valid? No?

(27:29):
No, no, we have Wedefinitely have been playing, at least in
the past. You haven't been playingas much. I will say if you
wanna, if you want to takeuh uh an exercise of trust with your
relationship, you and Meadows should playOvercooked because that's a game that you will

(27:51):
start you'll turn on your partner,no question. It's like Una, No,
I won't do that because metals competitiveand ship's meaning when we play Mario
Party, but you two are workingtogether, it's not against each other,
that's the thing. No, she'sstill gonna be you know, she's still
gonna get mad at me because likeup or something. Definitely with that I
don't get I don't get that way. I don't get that way with like

(28:12):
cooperative games like that. He does. Yeah, I am definitely me No
Elia n l And I'll get it, Like how dare you? Why didn't
you fucking doing Why didn't you dothis? But Overcooked is a great game.
If you really want to. It'sfun. You cook, cut stuff

(28:33):
off, cook it the whole nineyards, sell it. It's almost like
cooking Mama, but on steroids.I will say, Evan, if you
have a Netflix account, and anybodyout there who does, I know,
I know that there are you know, uh asterisks about the people who own

(28:53):
Netflix accounts, but we get itto a family member, so you know,
fuck damn uh. Godzilla minus one. Really good movie, great movie,
actually fucking amazing. Isn't that onethat the one where him and both
are going to beat shit? No? No, no, no no.
It's the most recent one that cameout of Japan. It's the one that

(29:15):
won the award for you know effectsthat were done back in the nineties,
the whole nine yards. I won't. Don't get me wrong, Godzilla looks
a little you know, foolish, but that's kind of the Japanese way of
filming. It's always been the casewith Godzilla. He's always kind of looked
a little tacky in the In thewest, they're the west? Where the

(29:38):
east? Yeah? Right? Orare they the east? And where the
west? What do you mean?Japan? Are they the east or are
they the west? That's how it'salways been in the East, you know.
But the emotional story of it allis amazing. One of the greatest
emotional, you know, Godzilla moviesout there, I would say, maybe

(30:03):
the most serious ever. Just amazingthe way that they do the beam and
Ah, it's all about Godzilla.I won't spoil anything, obviously, because
it's a very recent movie. LionsGate. I don't know if you know
this, but lions Gate literally likeblocked the release for America because they were

(30:25):
afraid it was going to compete withGodzilla versus King Kong two. You know,
those assholes. Nothing, nothing comparedto Godzilla minus one. But it's
all about, you know, thehuman experience come together, rebellion against a
force of nature. That whole thing, and the story behind it, the

(30:45):
man, the main character, thesupporting cast, you care about, everybody,
and in this day and age, with the way movies have been making
me feel, Oh, it's refreshing. It's very refreshing. Makes sense,
I well, you don't. Meand Metal have been watching together Private Practice.

(31:06):
I don't know what that is,the spin off of Grey's Anatomy.
Ah. Yes, it's like it'slike if they gave Okay, it's like
they if they gave like Nami's SisterBrown Show. Okay, I don't know

(31:32):
what that's a reference to. I'llbe honest. You haven't gotten you,
you haven't watched any one. No, and I'm not going to honestly,
Kenny, can I keep it abuck with you, dude. I might
do the I'm not the Netflix version, but the like remake that which studio
is doing. I might watch thatthat looks just read it, just read

(31:56):
it. If I weren't read Berserk, I'm not reading One Piece not happening.
You will get through an arc inthe same an arc of the manga
in the same amount of time itwould take you to like fucking get through
you know, a third of likeone arc in one Piece, like and

(32:17):
you just knock them out. Well, I would do that. Uh,
not a bridge version, but onePace. I would do one Pace.
I can't figure out how to doit though, I don't know. I
don't understand the terminology, but uhyeah, one know that one pace dot

(32:37):
net. One Pace is a fanproject that recruits recuts just the One Piece
anime into an endeavor, bringing itmore in line with the pacing of the
original manga. The team of Thomassby removing philisines not in president in the

(32:59):
source material, fixing animation airs, and correcting subtitles. Process requires meticulous editing
and quality controlling. I'm sure noseamless music douse your seamless music and transitions.
As a result, One Pace isover forty percent faster to watch compared
to the original one piece anime whileretaining the entire cannon. That's over nine

(33:19):
thousand minutes for one hundred and fiftyhours saved. Saved, I don't watch.
We've one hundred episodes and I watchedpage to download and stream. Please
see the The last question in ourdiscord, one will my favorite episodes?
Oh my god, there's still workingon it. They ain't up to date.

(33:42):
How how I'm curious, like howarcs they got? They're pretty far.
Let's see that is let me seewhere it's I stopped working. Yeah,
that's where Loofy gets a white fluOh fuck, wenty one hours,

(34:06):
God, damn Jesus price God,damn uh huh they really? Yeah,
they're up today. That's up today. I shit. Maybe maybe maybe I'll

(34:27):
have to get me and Beda towatch One Face. I mean, it's
a better use of your time thanfucking trying to start the anime from beginning
to end. That's how you reallymake your spouse get mad at you.
That wants me to watch direct thatis upset with me because my experience of
watching the full amount of Alchemist wasthe adult swim cut. And I've never

(34:50):
seen Brotherhood and she wants me towatch Brotherhood with her badly. I mean,
I've heard and seen scenes from Brotherhoodthat are amazing, so out you're
not gonna hear me say anything badabout it. Yeah, that's true.
Anything you wanted to bring up StarWars Acolyte came out, I haven't started

(35:13):
it. Did you hear anything aboutit? I said it was a six
out of ten from I g N. I g N gave a video game,
a Star Wars video game. Ait's a it's a show. It's
a show. Still Yeah, Iknow, no, trust me. I
know people do not like i GN. Like. Here's the thing though,

(35:40):
like i GN would get like likeIGN would give sloppy toppy to like the
to like a slime creature if itwould retain their ability to get early access
viewing of material for the website. So it's like they don't like anything.
If ign rates something less than aseven, that means like it was so

(36:06):
bad that they could not like avoiddoing that, right, Like, what
is it? Is? It justsupposed to be like Jedi Ninjas or some
shit. I think it happens beforethe Phantom Menace. Uh, it's supposedly
about like an assassin that's tracking downJedi before Order sixty six, before Revenge

(36:30):
of the Sith, before the PhantomMenace, the whole nine yards. I
don't really know what the premise is. Again, I haven't wanted to just
take place in like the you know, the Old Republic. Maybe I don't
know, but let's see. Ohbut I'm just gonna look out when it
takes place very quickly, just tosee I'm not gonna hopefully also also just

(36:55):
to bring up the man you can'tfucking escape on this podcast Drake for Moves
All Kendrick Lamar dis tracks on Instagram. I know I saw that very quickly.
It's during the High Republic era aroundone hundred and thirty two bb y.
Yeah, that means that means thisis one hundred years before the Phantom

(37:15):
Menace that I know. This isone hundred years this is that Bby stands
for when they blew up the fuckingdeath Star of the first time. Okay,
so the end of a new vote. No, no, no,
this is one hundred years before theevents of The Phantom Menace, which took
place in thirty two. Bby,right, I was just telling you what

(37:37):
Bby's meant. It just means gotyou, guys, Bby basically since for
blew up over Yonder, you know, we basically blew up the death Stop.
That's what that event. Wow,that's as as big as Jesus.
That's crazy. That was there,Jesus blowing out the dead start. I

(38:00):
respect him. I think bb whyis just sort of like a frame of
reference of time for like the mostknown event in Star Wars, you know,
which was like the end of anew Hope. Well, the guy
I'm just gonna end on this, the director who made this, is saying
that he is interested in doing aOld Republic show. I mean, they'll

(38:22):
never do it. They'll probably neverdo it, or if they do,
it'll be twenty years from now.But that would be great. The and
Or guy to do it wasn't theHandboor guy. The wasn't like I still
have to watch Mandalorian season three, and I think after that, I think

(38:43):
I'll be done with Star Wars, like I already have Star Wars fatigue only
one season two maybe, but likeI might watch Kenobi, you know,
with Meadow just because she has abig fucking crush on you and Arry McGregor.
She says, I look like hima little bit, and I'm like

(39:05):
a little baby. I don't know, We'll see what happens. Like I
I'm I like Star Wars like conceptually, I think like I like it when
they do stuff in the Star Warsuniverse that isn't just you know, big
epic war like Burer pur Like Ilike like lower key stories, like I

(39:30):
probably would like Echolte, you know, I probably I like, you know,
if it's like if the energy levelis lower, I'm on board,
you know what I mean. I'mjust afraid that, uh, Star Wars
is gonna go down the Marble routewhere it too much is too much?

(39:52):
You know. Here's the thing thathere's the difference. Right. The movies
were the best part of Marble. The shows were supplemental material, but taken
or leave like some of them weregood. Some of them bas and more
men but they all kind of looklike they were all like they were all
considered mandatory watching. Right, mmhmmm. Here's the thing. The movies

(40:17):
are sut like Disney views the moviesof like the Star Wars movies as Disney
views Star Wars movies the same likelike the Big Movies, the Big Three
Trio movies, the same way Microsoftretreats MICRORAFT. It's lightning in a bottle.

(40:40):
It's super fucking valuable. They donot want to mess with it too
much and accidentally fuck it up,so they play the super duper safe options.
Yeah. Just what I'm saying is, I think with the amount of
shows that they're doing in the StarWars universe, I feel like audiences are
gonna have fatigue by the time thenext main trilogy or whatever trilogy because it's

(41:06):
probably still gonna be a three moviefilm based structure. Uh. I think
people are gonna have a little bitmore fatigue for that. Maybe they'll still
be excited, but I don't thinkit'll be like, uh, you know
what the fuck was seven called?Uh uh Force Awakens. Yeah, I

(41:28):
don't think it'll be a Force Awakensor Phantom Menace moment, you know where
people were like, yeah, peoplelike I. Force Awakens was announced when
I was a senior in high schooland I was a sophomore my computer science.
My computer science teacher at the time, like, like you intered in
computer science, teacher, there's anew fucking elective or whatever. He said,

(41:54):
all right, so I wanted totalk about this with you guys real
quick. And then he played it, and then and he spent the next
fifteen minutes talking about He he beatit sound like because he's a fucking nerd,
giant nerd, and he's like,I need you guys to understand,
like like how important this is likefor for someone like me, and why
this is like a big bubbles Thiswas fucking compside. This guy teaches biology

(42:19):
normally insane, so so so it'slike people worth fucking geeking. And they
were so fucking excited for this ship. And I, you know, and
and I don't. I haven't wantseen the movies. I haven't seen the
movies, and I don't, youknow, it might It's one of those
things where it's like I might watchthem when they announce a new trilogy.

(42:43):
The only way I'm going to experiencethese movies is by playing Lego Star Wars
with my girlfriend. You've never seenany of the Star Wars films. I've
seen. I saw that, Isaw. I've seen the prequels, the
main line, not the sequels.I haven't seen any of the Oh okay,
I was about to say, howthe fuck have you never seen the
prequels? What the fuck? Ididn't. I didn't see I didn't see

(43:07):
the like four, five, andsix of Star Wars, A New Hope,
Empire strikes Back in Return of theJedi. I didn't see those three
movies until I was like a sixteenyear old kid. Damn. I didn't
see Lord of the Rings until Iwas almost an adult. The only reason
I saw the prequels first was becauseI saw Revenge of This Revenge was coming

(43:34):
out. Yes, I was likefour or five, it was. I
was like five or six is great. It was wonderful. I loved it.
And here's the thing. It's likeI never understood, Like, here's
the thing. Let's talk about thepre just freef I mean, especially very
quickly with the lens and perspective ofsomebody who was there for the original trilogy,
Like could you imagine the disappointment seeingPhantom menace. Well, here's the

(44:00):
thing, right, like this washere's the thing about like after the original
series. Yeah, and and andhere's the thing. It's like the prequel

(44:20):
is a mystery. It's about conspiracy. It's not it's this is not a
story about like brandiose large pipes, which are certainly there. This is like
it's like, this is like howdid this verpos you know, republic,
this democracy fall to fascistic authoritarianism, and it shows this in like really rounded

(44:47):
real It is arguably the most realisticpart of Star Wars of the of those
prequels, and like, you know, the thing that's most compelling to me
about the prequels is the geopolitics, the the background, like that everything going

(45:07):
on, like why are It's what'sinteresting to me is like why things are
happening, not that they're because here'sthe thing that they're happening, Like like
here's the difference between and why.I think like a lot of the people
who who grew up with the originaltrilogy didn't like the preems. The original
trilogy is about why are we fightingthe Empire because they're evil? Why are

(45:31):
there space wizards? I don't know, fucking fucking like they have laser swords.
It is not about the why mM. It is about that is.
It is about this is happening. We don't care why it's happening.
We don't care why the we don'tcare why the rebellion is the thing.

(45:52):
We don't care about xra y orz All we care about is uh right
versus wrong? Space Wizard epic battles, you know, sci fi fan science
fancy adventures. Well, I thinkthat's the responsibility of any prequel. It's
to focus on the why, notthe is. The is was the original

(46:15):
concept exactly, And the big thingis what the Prequels is. They knew
the why vaculutely the fact, likein the Reason when they don't they here's
the thing here very quickly. Theonly reason I say that is because one

(46:37):
big important part of the Prequels, the whole downfall of the fucking Empire,
the beginning of the Empire and thedownfall of the Jedi, is literally done
by Jar Jar Binks. So herehere's the thing, the act that you're
talking about with Jar Jar Binks.I know there's so there's so many more.

(47:00):
I know there's a lot more.If Jarge Jar Binks didn't make that
petition, somebody else would have out. But it is about the political wrangling
that Alpa team did guarantee that somebodywas going to suggest that, and if

(47:20):
he couldn't get jar Jar Binks wasn'tgonna do it, somebody else was going
to. But that's me commenting onnot necessarily how the prequels did the why
of stuff. That's me commenting onwhy the fuck did George Lucas choose to
do it this way? Why diddecide to have jar Jar Binks make that
declaration the whole No, all acrossthe three movies. Every fucking moment in

(47:45):
that movie there is a scene thatsticks out in your head. I want
to say, there's like ten twentyscenes in every half hour of each fucking
movie in the prequels that makes youstop and say, why did he choose
to fill in this way? Sousually that can be boiled down to for

(48:05):
the kids. He wanted to havesome shit that like, so for kids
to watch the ship, especially withlike the the goofiness of the Gungans and
shit like that in the first movieand all of that. Here's my thing,
you know, you know that doesn'ttake away from my point of like
showing the background setup, Like,is George R. Binks's voice kind of

(48:29):
immersion breaking in that moment? Yes, but you know, the the role
he's playing there of a you know, of a unknowable like a willing you
know idiot, could have been playedby anybody, and having George ar Binks
play the willing idiot, I don'tknow that makes sense on some level.

(48:50):
But like the Gungans are not fantasticin terms of like design, I think,
I think, I think, butwe're so the the difference between because
like effects is also very important here. The reason why the original trilogy of
Star Wars still holds up today, and I mean not amazingly, I won't

(49:14):
say amazingly, but it still fuckingholds up is because everything was practical effects
outside of the Lightsaber Duels, especiallythe second episode looks horrible, horrible.
That that's that's that's you know,if they if they had real if they
had made the prequels today, Ithink I don't think that would have been.

(49:38):
It leaves better, but I thinkthe time, but also the fact
that everybody on Lucas's staff for theprequels were I think they were astonished honestly
that after twenty two, twenty threeyears, this man could still make stories
on this big screen that were stillimpactful. And even though the first and

(50:00):
second movie weren't really received that well, I feel like everybody was just gung
ho with his whole idea and nevershaid no once. I think I think
that that, I think that that'smight be true, but to my But
to get back to the original point, I was trying to make about how
this shows the fault, like, how like this shows the why. Like

(50:21):
when you think about it, thedownfall of the republic started because of a
trade conflict over taxable shipping rates. That's it. That that that like.
And the fact that a t thata corporation was able to get powerful enough

(50:45):
to have a governing a voting seatin a galactic voting body of government.
Well, honestly, it was becausefrom the very beginning Palpatine had the ability
to just be trusted. It wasall about bureaucracy. And I respect the

(51:12):
film, especially at the time, because you just had the Iraq War,
you just you had everything going onin the you know, Middle East and
shit like that, So I understandwhy I'm just like Adam said it best.
Adama said it best. This ishow democracy dies to thunderous applause.

(51:35):
It should thee the prequels showed maybenot like, you know, point for
point perfectly on screen, but likeif you pay attention to what's being said,
read the bits at the beginning ofthe movie, of the beginning scroll
of each movie, and and youknow understand, like you know, have
a little bit of like nuance, like knowing what goes on politically and shit,

(51:55):
like just being able to read intoit. You can see point for
point, like how the Empire did, Like the Empire didn't rise from the
at the bottom corpse of the Republicbecause of some like great power. And
Palpatine. Palpatine is a weak sifcompared to many of the sport Bears.

(52:16):
The reason he, you know,he was able to become emperor was because
he was politically savvy. He washe was good at playing politics and and
and you know his I mean didn'thave to do anything new. He stole
everything from the Jedi and the Clonesand uh, what's it go on the

(52:38):
Republic and then destroy the Republic. So it was like I don't really have
to listen to anybody. Yeah,it's like, here's the thing. It's
like Darth Pelagius his master. Ithink I think it was his master.
Yeah, was a lot. Waslived for like two three lived for hundreds

(52:58):
of years, way beyond his naturallifespan. Was a was like a use
of Sith powers to get like reallyhigh and galactic banking. Was unbelievably wealthy.
Was beloved by many because of hischaritable contributions. He very he was
very powerful. He was a verypowerful Sith and he used his power to

(53:22):
enrich it and give himself more powerin the form of like believe the economy
and stuff. Here's the thing.Palpatine was like Palpatine like basically, I
think if I remember the assassinated hismaster in a way that like, yeah,
he didn't kill him in what hewas like. Granted he did it

(53:43):
in a way that was compliant withlike the dark side of the force.
But yeah, that's the thing. The dark side is never the side of
full power until the empire, andthen even then they get destroyed. There
was it took I think something likethe rule of to the the Sith lords
right there. The plan to takedown the Jedi took a thousand years and

(54:12):
to build an empire to rule thegalaxy. That was the plan that Sith
had been working towards as a collectivegeneration after generation for a thousand years.
And it and it only lasted. It lasted less than half a century.
Yeah, it was only like thirtyforty years Oxact. And even if you

(54:35):
consider like the Woo Clone bullshit thatFalconine did in like the newer movies,
like it it it it He Palpatinegave a lot of hit to someone like
Count Dooku for not really embracing likethe dark side of the force and like
not having like that the force warpthat like makes Palpatine the buggy the use

(54:59):
of their of course it makes yourbody that warps your body because it's not
natural. And the Duke he didn'thave that. He pot he was powerful
on his own just by virtue oflike the swordsmanship he could. He basically
well, he was a it wasa Jedi knight first, but just because
like you know, you're a Jedi, like like lightsaber combat is equal across

(55:20):
the set. He was the greatgreatest lightsaber combatan in the galaxy. He
didn't really need to use like forcepower like like like dark dark side powers
like that, and you know, and Palpatine like looked down on him for
that and gave them ships for that. But the problem is that Alpine himself
like was not a powerful practitioner ofthe dark Side, and so you know,

(55:45):
it's it's like, you know,if he had not neglected cultivating those
powers, he had he stayed hitit, he hit his powers. He
hit him for decades and ages becauselike he's constantly around Jedi. You can't
call to make your dark side powersOtherwise Yoda, who Who's Who's Who's who's
chilling three blocks over? Is gonnait's gonna lock into that ship like white

(56:07):
on Rice. Yeah, I don'tknow, it's just it just really goes
to show that, like you know, just because like the dark side of
the Forks is like arguably more powerfulthan the Light side and on certain ways,
you know, the fallacies that comenot fallacies, the the the the

(56:31):
and feebleness of like the of likethe type of person you have to be.
Like I as much as I lovethe idea of like r Ay Jedi
and like Georg Edi and stuff, like, I kind of go with it
with like George Lucas and Jordan looksays, no, dark Side's evil,
light Side's light. This is thelike what the dark Side stands for and
because and this is what they normallywill do. Yes, it's love and

(56:51):
passion, it's all. It's allthis stuff that goes with it. But
like ultimately, like the dark Sideseems to bend and bind people to their
will, and you know the lightSide doesn't. Now that doesn't mean that
Light Side people can't be evil, but like you have to light it.
No, but you see, butthat's exactly well why you need the grade

(57:15):
Jedi the side of it. That'sa fan makeup that that's a problem.
No, no, no, becauseno, no no, because unless did
you watch Ah Soska, Like sheis a great Jedi self proclaimed that is
in watch a soa a little bitthat looks it's fucking great, especially if

(57:35):
you grew up with the O GStar Wars, the Clone Wars. Yeah,
yeah, fucking great. What's iton? But I just want to
say, also, like I feellike the madically cinematically on, especially in
the movies, we have never gottena truly great Sith board yet. And

(57:57):
that's why I'm so interested in fuckingwhat's it on in the Old Republic,
Like that was a time when theSith we're at an all time high.
They were extremely fucking powerful. Theywere proficient in goddamn Star Wars' abilities,
they had all the dark side abilities. Like, that's why it's so interesting
to me, Yo, I justah, we are being robbed. Well,

(58:21):
the thing is is that the like, don't get me wrong, I
just want to say one last thingfor people who are gonna be like,
I'm actually the Darth Vader. DarthVader in the fucking comics and legends and
everything like that is a ungodly SithLord. But that's not what we got
in the in the movies. Let'sbe so rare and also Darth Vader.

(58:44):
Like, here's the thing. AnathinSkywalker before the Darth vaderification was probably the
single strongest entity in the fucking galaxyof that point, then, before or
since because of like how fucking likejust because he was the fucking chosen one
of some ship. And the reasonwhy Palpatine put so much like like,

(59:04):
the reason why he Palpatine put himin the suit he did and not a
better one is because you know,he's constantly in pain. He's never able
to sleep effectively. He's like he'snot he doesn't have the same range of
emotion that he had when he wasa well like a non cyborg. And
why Well, because Talpatine is ais a Weasley bastard and knows that Anakin

(59:30):
would fucking would fuck him the momenthe was he didn't need him anymore.
And that's exactly what he did.Yeah, that's exactly what he did.
And the reason why like he kepthim in that suit specifically is because he
like the suit kept him like waswas defensive towards lots of things except one

(59:50):
thing for slight specifically, and andspecifically, you can't make repairs or edits
to the suit unless unless like someunless like Palpatine's using force lightning to keep
it to keep Anakin's body systems goingsimultaneously, because there's not technology to do
that based on how dated and allthe technology is. So it's like it

(01:00:13):
was like Palpatine's play to keep anapprentice and keep the role of two and
also in a way that he wouldn'tfucking die. No, that's not true,
because they had the medbots. That'sthe only way that Anakin was kept
alive when they were putting him intothe suit, at least for this films,
maybe not for the comics or legends. So it's like, I forget

(01:00:37):
the exact reasoning, but I thinkPalpatine's Force Lightning was a big reason.
Like it's like, why is likewhat like like life support given from Palpatine's
Force lightning and kind of like usingthe Force to sort of keep Anakin together
was a big reason why he Whylike Anakin couldn't ever really betray it because

(01:00:58):
it's like he they can't make toomany changes stuff dates or like fixed suit.
If you know, if Palpatine's deadand he's then he immediately is on
time because I think because I thinkthat I'm just gonna get something to drink,

(01:01:22):
I'll be right back. You're good. But I was gonna say to
the folks, Vader actually uses theForce to keep his yo fucking hustle.
I'm all, we're recording his bitch, but but Vader actually uses the force
as to kind of like to keephis fucking suit together as well. And

(01:01:45):
when he's passed the funk out,you know, he needs another force user
to keep his ship together. Andif you can't, that's it's not a
good spot. But yeah, buthold on, Wade, he's going back
three to one. What was whata my head Why do my headphones smell

(01:02:06):
like a gym bat uh cat?Question mark? I don't know, but
a Star Wars stuff aside? Isthere anything else that you wanted to chat
about or you want to wrap up? I think we're good for now.
What do you feel like it wasgood? I'm feeling I'm feeling pretty good
all things considered. Okay, wellsounds good? All right, bet,
