(00:25):
you can relate episode. Heyfolks, I'm Caitlin Dubin. You may
(00:49):
know me from such podcasts asthe Real Woman Podcast, which you
happen to be a proud member ofthe Patreon community, which is why
you are hearing me throughyour earbuds right now. I'm coming
to you from behind the mic inthe Rural Woman Podcast studio for
this exclusive patron onlypodcast to share with you a bit more
(01:11):
about me, my personal life, our farm, my family, the wins, the
struggles. Really just alittle bit of everything. I wanted
to create a space to share mystory with a more intimate audience,
to build a strongerconnection. My goal here is to share
about the things I've learned, the good, the bad, and everything
(01:34):
in between. And maybe, justmaybe, you can relate.
(02:02):
Let's talk about quitting. Ipromise you this is not my formal
resignation letter to youafter I just shared that we celebrated
our sixth anniversary. I feellike a lot of times people kind of
find those, like, bigmilestones to connect another big
(02:23):
milestone to, like, quitting. However, we're not doing that today.
That might be unfortunate forsome, but I'm assuming not you, because
you're here and you havechosen to be here. I think it's safe
(02:51):
to say that as entrepreneurs,as people in business, whether you
have a team or whether you'rea solopreneur, there are times when
we just kind of look back andsay, is any of this really worth
it? Like, what am I doing? Andfor me, there was a cyclical pattern
(03:13):
of when this specificallywould happen. And I've started sharing
this more recently. Andforgive me if I've said this story
to you before, but everyJanuary, since, gosh, 2017, January,
February, ish, I have thisexistential cris and I am so grateful
(03:53):
that I didn't quit on myselfthen because that's essentially what
I would have been doing, isquitting on myself and on what I've
built and what the potentialof what I do is. I actually ran into
(04:14):
the a team of people that Iactually went and interviewed for
a job for this past travelseason at an event that I was at.
I ran into them and they lookfamiliar and I looked to my my friend.
And I said, who? Why do thosepeople look familiar? And she said
to me, caitlin, you went for ajob interview with them? And I was
(04:37):
like, o I have to say that thepodcast itself is maybe the only
(04:59):
thing I've ever consistentlydone in my entire life. And that's
not the first time that's comeout of my mouth. But I think the
first time that did come outof my mouth, it was like an awakening.
It was like, why is it thisthing? Why is it this thing that
I can show up and doconsistently on a weekly basis, get
(05:20):
what I need done for the restof the amazing people behind the
scenes to get this to you? Andthere's just something about the
stories.
That I hear from women like you.
(06:14):
Who absolutely light my fire.
