I would love to hear from you. Please support the program.

In this episode, I play a soundbite of Dave Ramsey reducing human beings to market adjustments in real estate. I am not a fan of Dave for many reasons.  We need to continue to pray for people using the Bible for unjust purposes. The Bible is not a text to get rich!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
And so you are not displacing them.
You're taking too much creditfor what's going on.
If they need to move to acheaper house because they can't
afford, they're going to moveto a lesser house Because if
they move, they're going to paymarket rent.
So let me get this straight, dave People are human capital.

(00:22):
Dave, people are human capital.
It is not like people weresquatting, sitting on your
properties, thinking to myselfhow am I going to get over on
Dave Ramsey and not pay my rent?
Dave, you have over $200million and I'm not mad at that,

(00:50):
I'm not angry at that, I don'thave a bone to pick about that.
But when you have Christiansand non-Christians that are
going to be evicted based offmarket rent because that's what
they become to you they becomemarket rent and you have the
ability to have the spotlight onyou and show the world that you
could have done somethingdifferent in the name of Christ,
but instead you take the routeof money and you want your money

(01:13):
, dave.
The sad part is, when I look atthis world and what Western
Christianity has produced, it'sjust all about money a lot of
the times the health and wealthof gospels, the lie, satan, the
way he works and we want to beso politically correct and not
hurt anybody's feelings.
We don't want to tell the truthanymore in this country and,

(01:36):
dave, I'm not going to let youget away with that, using the
bible to get rich and thenpropagating a notion that people
are equivalent to market-basedrent.
So I was asked Pastor Joshua, what would you have done in that
situation?
I said, first of all, if I hadmy financial advisor come and

(01:59):
tell me to raise rent when I hada $200 million net worth, I
would have told them don't dothat again, or else I'm going to
fire you.
You're not going to have a jobanymore.
I'm blessed beyond all beliefin my life right now.
What I would have done isprobably said keep it the same
or cut the rent because theeconomic turmoil at hand.

(02:22):
And when I hear that excuse andthat kind of gyration and that
kind of political maneuvering, that it's not my fault, ladies
and gentlemen, it's the market'sfault that I displaced them and
I evicted them.
What kind of grace is that?
And I've been reading articlesonline and people are saying

(02:43):
well, it's not Dave's fault,it's the market.
He didn't do nothing wrong.
And I see all these peoplecoming to his aid and rescue and
making every excuse in the book.
I mean, dave, what would you doif Jesus Christ was living in
one of them houses and couldn'tafford the rent?
The apostles, of course, that'skind of a foolish question to

(03:06):
ask.
But secondarily, you everthought about how many
Christians you evicted?
You could have still made yourmoney, still made your millions,
but instead you chose to lookat human beings as market-based
capital.
That is super sad.
I've read articles that havestated well, what would have

(03:36):
done to the real estate marketif Dave would have acted in that
way and cut everybody a break?
And this is my answer who cares?
Christians are supposed to bedifferent.
We don't play by the rules ofthe world.
We don't have to play by therules of the world.

(03:58):
And I want to read some of thecomments all over the net that
people said about Dave Not me,but I'm reading some comments.
Dave Ramsey is delusional.
When Jesus said it is easierfor a camel to go through the
eye of a needle than for a richman to enter the kingdom of God,
I think he was referring toDave Ramsey specifically.

(04:19):
This isn't an attack, but thisis what the lack of commitment
to Christ has brought, and thiswas by Rick in Maryland, and
it's just pretty sad.
It's just pretty sad that thisis the response he's getting,
because everybody will wait toattack a Christian if they can.

(04:39):
Yeah, oh, I didn't displaceanyone.
The economy did.
This guy probably thinks thathe's better than everybody else.
That's another comment.
And it goes on and on and on.
And look what one person putHis name is Terry, tough on the

(05:05):
individual level.
But this is how free marketworks.
The religious aspect of what hesays just unnecessarily frames
it as the individual moral issue.
And it is sad that.
Sorry, christ isn't the freemarket.
People in the West, listen tome.
People here in this country ofAmerica, stop, stop trying to
make the Bible fit Westernculture and Western philosophy.

(05:30):
That's not what it's supposedto do.
There's no such thing as thehealth and wealth gospel.
God doesn't want us to pray andget rich and get a Bentley, and
get a car and get a house andgive us a big old, fat bank
account.
That is not what the Bible issaying.
It's ridiculous, it's wrong andit's evil to teach that from

(05:52):
the gospel, the rich man in thekingdom of God.
This is where we're going to goright now, ladies and gentlemen
, and it's Matthew 19, verse 16.
There's going to be a shortshow today.
We just wanted to get this out, because I really needed to get

(06:12):
this out lately.
Just then, a man came up toJesus and asked Teacher, what
good thing must I do to geteternal life?
Why do you ask me about what isgood?
Jesus replied there was onlyone who was good.
If you want to enter life, keepthe commandments.
Which ones, he inquired?
Jesus replied you shall notmurder, you shall not commit

(06:34):
adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false
testimony, honor your father andmother and love your neighbor
as yourself.
All these things I have kept.
The young man said.
What do I still lack?
Jesus answered if you want tobe perfect, go sell your
possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in

(06:56):
heaven, and then come and followme.
There is a historical context tothat.
Jesus is telling him.
The Savior is at hand.
The moment of truth, the apex, the paramount point in history
led up to this, and I am hereSell everything.
Secondarily, jesus knew theman's heart and he knew he was

(07:17):
being a bold-faced liar.
When the young man heard this,he went away, sad because he had
a great wealth.
Dave, what if Christ came toyou and told you to give up
everything?
Are you going to say that themarket's not dictating that?
Hey, dave, these poor peoplecut them a break.

(07:37):
You know what, christ?
It's not what the free marketsays.
Can't do that Matter of fact.
I got a raise around 43%.
Then Jesus said to his disciplestruly, I tell you, it is hard
for someone who is rich to enterinto the kingdom of heaven.
Again, I tell you, it is easierfor a camel to go through the

(07:59):
eye of a needle than for someonewho is rich to enter into the
kingdom of God.
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and
asked who can be saved?
Jesus looked at them and saidWith man, this is impossible.
With God, all things arepossible.
Peter answered him we have lefteverything to follow you.
What then, will they be for us?
Jesus said to them Truly, Itell you, at the renewal of all

(08:23):
things, when the Son of man sitson his glorious throne, you who
have followed me will also siton twelve thrones, judging the
twelve tribes of Israel andeveryone who has left their
houses, or brothers, or sisters,or fathers, or mothers, or
wives or children or fields, formy sake, will receive a hundred

(08:44):
times as much and they willinherit eternal life.
But many who are first will belast and many who are last will
be first.
This has a historical context.
The gospel is being promoted, the anthropos, the god man is
walking the earth.
He's going to go to the crossand be crucified.
He has his chosen people in hiscamp to spread his message and

(09:10):
it is different than the 21stcentury in that sense.
But, dave, god didn't ask youto give up everything.
God didn't ask you to just letpeople live in your properties
for free.
And I don't doubt Dave gives tocharity.
I mean, I don't doubt that abit.

(09:31):
I mean I don't doubt that a bit.
But when you are put on theworld stage and call people

(09:53):
market adjustments that capitalis more important than a human
being, I don't care who you are,how many books you wrote, what
church you pastor, how manydegrees anybody has, you ain't
convincing me that that's right.

(10:14):
It's sad, it's pathetic and youshould be ashamed of yourself.
And I wanted to get that out.
Ladies and gentlemen, God blessyou have a great day until we
meet again on.
The Saints Will Overcome.
