But with that said, it's been arough week for me.
(03:30):
Folks and a bunch of people arewatching tonight.
Greg Schneider Walker, cyrus ishere.
I can come over here and scroll.
I've also got Ricky Edwards.

going with YouTube.
(04:14):
And so this week's been rough.
I've been under the weather.
I'm here tonight Now, I have toadmit, all of a sudden I feel
like I got a little bit moreenergy than I did even five
minutes ago.
Hey, rick, good to see you, rick Dorn.
And then it's been.
What would you say?
(04:35):
This one's a tricky one.
It probably was the flu, n1,hn1 or whatever.
But I always deal with itpretty good.
But there's always those coupledays that take me down hard.
So I had a couple hard days butwith working and cold and dusty
and everything that's beengoing on, it was today.
Honestly, folks was a rough day.
(04:57):
And then, you know, tonight I'mgoing to be taking medicine, so
I don't like to drink too.
I wish I could be drinking more, but when you're taking all
those medicines, I always justback off a lot.
I really don't feel like goingthe way of some of those
celebrities.
I have called them out for notbeing smart, you know.
(05:20):
So you can't go off and go doit yourself.
So here I am tonight doing thepodcast on America, american
Highway Reserve, and this bottlehas always intrigued me, and so
, and how it's intrigued me isfrom the start, it's got the
(05:43):
coolest label.
It's got the coolest label,it's got the coolest concept.
But when it came out one it wason the shelf right away and it
was everywhere.
But it's a hundred bucks and ifyou're going to pay a hundred
dollars for a bourbon, youusually like to know at least
(06:04):
what you're buying, if you likethe brand.
Sometimes that happens andwhatnot.
In this case, I didn't knowwhat I was buying, I didn't know
where you know it's.
Let's.
I'm going to do a screen sharehere We'll get into this of what
it is.
Let's quick, do the screenshare for all you on.
(06:26):
I got a video for you all towatch, so let's watch the video.
You guys will be able to hearit.
So here comes the share.
All right, this is the AmericanHighway Reserve.
Here it comes.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
I mean, I associate
urban with country music.
That's great, and when you takebourbon and give it the country
tour, it's going to have totaste like that.
We've loaded up a semi-trailerand actually have 53-gallon
barrels of bourbon loaded in.
These are really specialbarrels that saw more of the
United States than most people Iknow.
Well done, cheers, well done.
(07:01):
The Rolling Rick House istaking bourbon across America
behind Brad's tour bus.
It's the American spirit and Idon't know if anyone's ever
taken it to basically all thestates before.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Swishing back and
forth, going from coast to coast
, going to cold climates, goingto warm climates All that's
going to impact the flavor ofthe barrel.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
This is well-traveled
.
It has been there, done that.
Any road trip changes somebody, develops you a little bit more.
I think it's done exactly that.
It's just so similar to whatgoes into a great guitar the
right woods, the rightcombination of alchemy that
makes this intangible, magicalthing, and that's really what
this is to me.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Right, pretty cool.
I mean honestly, I think that'spretty cool.
They do a great, it's a greatvideo.
Sorry, folks, that was horrible, haven't done anyways.
Hey, matt, as you all can see,it's been rough, um, but that
(08:07):
video kind of tells you whatthey did and it's so romantic
and it's a lot like oceans.
They throw it out, you know, initially they throw it out now.
If this became a brand um thatthey were putting out regularly,
they probably stopped following, brad around and stick it in
you know whatever, and just sendout multiple trucks going to
(08:29):
different places around, sendingon the tour, kind of like
initially how they were makingoceans and how they do it.
Now whole different storybecause of how much.
But I always felt this wasreally close to what Buffalo
Trace did Last year withTraveler you're talking about,
(08:51):
chris Stapleton and HarlanWheatley got together, did a
blend of whiskey it's justwhiskey and they put it out and
it was $39.99.
And they've had huge successwith it Chris Stapleton fans all
day long and and everybodyloved that aspect of it it was
(09:14):
affordable.
You could get a Buffalo Traceproduct with Harlan Wheatley's.
It's the only product, besidesvodka, with Harlan Wheatley's
name on it.
It's the only whiskey.
So people have been buying itup and it's readily available
and it's only $30.
I think it's now reduced to$34.99.
So it's even more affordable.
But think it's now reduced to$34.99.
So it's even more affordable.
(09:34):
But this came out last year at$100.
I could not.
I looked at it and looked at itand looked at it and looked at
it.
I could not pull the string.
I just couldn't.
It was on the shelf.
I mean, I had my guy hand it tome.
It's the the shelf.
I mean I had my guy hand it tome.
It's the coolest bottle.
It reminds me almost of whatBob Dylan would have, but it's
(10:00):
Brad Paisley, so it's evencooler, right?
So then let's do another share.
I'll do another share on on.
Uh, you're all going to be ableto see it, but I'll read it for
everybody, this time coming in.
Uh, for the people on YouTube, let's go to share.
(10:23):
I hit, that was that one.
Here we go.
Yep, there we are All right.
So let's see our story.
So we're on our story.
Where to buy?
Okay?
So it's a blend of four premiumKentucky bourbons.
Brad knows what he likes andwill, and with his vision we
(10:47):
landed on a blend that's sweetand spicy, with complex flavors,
that sits warmly on the palate.
It was 90 barrels on board theRolling Rick House.
This is the first ever bourbonto be aged on the road, and with
only 90 precious barrels ofbatch one on board, it's not
only going places, it's going togo fast.
Now, everywhere in AmericaBrad's tour goes, our bourbon
(11:11):
goes From tiny towns tosprawling cities and everywhere
in between.
This is one American spiritthat's truly seeing America.
Over 7,314 miles traveled acrossAmerica Through scorching
deserts, around frosty mountainsand across the country.
More movement and moretemperament.
Swings means even more flavor93.5 average temperature on
(11:33):
board.
Temperament swings means evenmore flavor 93.5 average
temperature on board, just soyou know.
This changes the aging processcompletely.
Um, you go too long.
It's going to be, oh, it'sgoing to have way too much oak.
It's going to be black becauseit's always sloshing around,
it's just not sitting in there.
The surface aspect of what'shappening is huge compared to
what it normally does.
(11:55):
You guys could see where it was.
It was not in the northwest andreally Minnesota is as north
and west as it went and Texaswas as west, everything in
between.
They really didn't go throughthe mountains, but they were in
California, arizona, new Mexico, texas, and then all through the
(12:17):
South Looks like maybe notGeorgia or South Carolina, they
kind of like a lot in Floridaand up, but they were in,
definitely, in Minnesota.
They were in Wisconsin, theywere in, you know, all through.
So it was really kind of cool.
Now, um, the bourbon.
(12:39):
Here's the bourbon, okay.
So, um, batch one well traveled, well run.
This is batch one.
The reason why I know it isbecause obviously they're coming
up with, they're going to comeup with, more batches and I
don't know if they've come outwith it, but recently they
pulled all the $99.99 bottlesand I got this the night I was
(13:07):
getting let's get this off Timeto stop sharing, stop share.
There we are.
So I got this.
Um, let's see, I got this thenight of the podcast when I went
and shot what was on the shelfand I couldn't believe it.
(13:29):
I was looking and there it wasdown on the shelf for 40.
Here it was $49.99.
I know some people have paid$39.99, $34.99, even $30.
So it's reduced.
So at that price I'm like I gotto get it Half price.
How can I not pick it up?
I really wanted this bottleHalf price.
(13:50):
How can I not pick it up?
I really wanted this bottle, soit was a happy purchase.
So here we are.
And that brings us to theScotchy Bourbon Boys.
(14:10):
Old Louisville Whiskey Company.
Barrel Banging Segment.
Now we barrel bang a ratingsystem segment.
Now we barrel bang a ratingsystem.
Our rating system is based offof taste, nose, body and finish.
For the nose and the body, weare able to give up to four
barrel bangs I say we, I,tonight.
And for the taste and thefinish, I could give up to five.
(14:31):
But if one of the categories isexceptional, I could give it a
butt up up, based off of me andmy wife coming up with that
bonus.
So tonight, courtesy of OldLouisville Whiskey Company, with
Amin down there in Louisville, kentucky, stop by, see him.
(14:54):
Great experience, I guaranteeyou.
He will not let you down.
Look it up on the web, look upoldlouisvillewhiskeycompanycom,
give him a call, set up anappointment.
He will show you around.
He's got a very, very uniqueone-on-one experience.
(15:15):
Well worth it, all right.
So here we go.
This is Brad Paisley's, theAmerican Highway Reserve.
All right, I've got it in myGlen.
(15:37):
It's been in there for a halfhour Now, one of the things that
you do.
The proof on this is I believeit's 90 proof.
I want to say it.
I yeah, it's 90, 45 abv.
So, yes, I don't know if I didtoo big of a pour, nope, I did
not.
But there you go, I'm lettingit roll.
Look at that, it's rolling allby itself.
Now that's kind of cool.
That.
That's a good glen.
Let's get it over here.
(15:58):
Let's get it past one more time.
Let's bring it back around here.
It comes All right Now in theglen, holding it up, sticking to
the sides Nice viscosity for a90 proof.
There's no doubt waiting forthose legs to come in and see
what kind of body this has inthe glass.
(16:20):
Um, nice, it's got a nice nose, cause I can smell it from here.
Really long legs.
Doing lately Everything thatI've been doing just has these
great, this great viscosity andmouthfeel.
All right.
So it was originally a hundred, but now you know it's not.
So, um, it's got a really goodnose.
(16:45):
That's one thing.
I could smell it with all thecold stuff that's happening with
me and everything.
I can smell this and it smellsdelicious.
I have no idea.
I get a little cinnamon bakingspices.
What is that?
(17:08):
Caramel?
All right, maybe caramel, acinnamon caramel apple.
(17:30):
It's pretty good.
All right, nice, let's give hera taste.
When tasting in a Glem, one ofthe great things about it is you
can hold it by the base so youdon't heat the whiskey up.
It pools at the bottom and thenfor nose purposes, it takes all
(17:53):
the aroma and funnels it backup.
But when you're nosing there'llbe a smell at the bottom.
But if you smell over the topyou sometimes can pick up other
you know, pick other aromas up.
So there's a lot of things thata Glen does.
(18:15):
It's one of my favorite glasses.
We sell the Scotchy BourbonBoys ones.
So if you're interested, let meknow and then let's see the
flavors.
That was close.
(18:36):
Folks Almost coughed it.
That would not have been good.
Okay, I'm A little bit of toastand honestly, yeah, they don't.
(19:03):
I guess they do.
I don't know what they'regetting.
I am getting also they'resaying, like an apricot, it's a
cross between an apricot and atart cherry.
(19:25):
Now the finish Very drinkable, got a nice finish, is finishing
with a dark chocolate, a littlebit of pepper.
(19:49):
It's medium finish.
Let's see what we got.
Again, that up front honey isalmost like a butter, buttery
(20:13):
mouthfeel, very, very good.
So I'll tell you, I think thetaste is the strongest part of
this, so I'm ready to give it abarrel bang.
Come back home, okay, anyways.
Yeah, it's just like we got alot of people that just are
silly on YouTube, which is fine.
Thanks for watching everybodyNow.
(20:37):
So I would say that the onething about our podcast folks
and we are right now in therating system, but I don't want
to go off on too long of a rampis that the one thing that we do
teach is that this is aboutsipping, drinking responsibly.
You're not doing it.
You're doing it to relax andyou're doing it for friendship.
(21:01):
That's what good whiskey andbourbon does brings people
together.
You're not doing it's not whatyou're not doing it to just, you
know, do what young kids do.
This is a whole differentexperience.
So if you're interested in theculture, you're going to want to
watch our podcast, becausethat's what we do.
(21:21):
Hang out, kick back Matt LisonCleveland on the Rocks.
I didn't call you out, but herewe go, all right.
So I would say the nose out of afour is a two, two barrel bangs
(21:52):
.
This is the original mat.
That's why they're clearing itout.
It's the one that just sat atour Giant Eagle forever and then
they eventually cleared it out, which Ohio has been doing, and
so has everybody across theUnited States.
So this is, I believe, batchone.
(22:12):
So that's my guess.
So do you have any informationon the different batches, matt?
Cause I probably have a littlebit.
Um, this could be, um, thiscould be batch two.
(22:48):
I don't know.
It's a bourbon, but that one onthe line that says this one is
let's see if it says it A blendof straight bourbon whiskey and
there's some from.
It was, there was some.
They pulled from Georgia.
So it's not the four Kentuckybourbon ones.
So it's probably a second, thesecond batch.
That could be what it is.
But I'm just being honest whenI'm, when I'm seeing here or
(23:10):
smelling, all right.
So we gave the nose a two.
Now we're talking body For a 90proof.
It has a fantastic body, guys, and a fantastic.
So on the body.
(23:36):
It's not a four because itdoesn't quite get all your
cheeks, but I will say that thisis a three.
We got three barrel bangs.
So five out of eight let's gothe taste which you can give up
to five on this, or even six.
Now I really like this.
This is a really good whiskey, really good bourbon.
(23:59):
It's not as caramely as I want,so this one's easy.
It's a strong point on it.
It's four out of five and thenfinish is easy.
The finish is three out of fiveand then finish is easy.
The finish is three out of five, so that is a seven and that is
a three and, wait, a five.
(24:25):
Five out of eight and seven outof eight.
So we're at 5 out of 8 and 7out of 8.
So we're at 12 out of 16.
Not bad at the price they'rereleasing this at.
So I know a lot of people.
Randy Ford was on talking to meearlier.
He had picked some up, you know.
(24:47):
So this is so if it is theirsecond round, they're trying to
go to the Chrisris tapleton fanswith the lower price, and that
makes sense.
This at 39.99 is is a buy allday.
It's a.
It is up there with anything.
It's different.
I mean they're driving aroundthe country.
(25:07):
Um, you know, as far as age, they just don't need.
They're just blending those 90barrels to get it to where it
tastes good and I think thatthey're doing a really good job.
So I will say that you know, giving it a 12 out of 10, 12 out
(25:31):
of 18, right, 7 out of 10.
And 12 out of 18.
So, yeah, I think that's apretty damn good score.
So that's what I'm going to putdown in the books.
That's American Highway Reserve.
I would recommend it to anybodybecause it is a nice.
(25:51):
Uh, sit on your back deck andsip.
There's enough body on this andenough flavor for that.
But it's not, um, what wouldyou say?
It's not what every you know,it's not a Kentucky bourbon with
the big caramel or whatever, but it's an enjoyable one and,
um, the drinkability and theflavor is pretty damn good.
So there you go.
(26:15):
All right, we're looking atFacebook.
Youtube is on fire tonight.
Well, let's do it.
It's so funny.
The comments, like for whateverreason, youtube just is like
picked it up tonight.
I don't know why, what, how, whatever, but when we get a lot
(26:38):
of people on YouTube, the mostof the people are just there's a
lot, a lot, a lot of rudepeople, so you just ignore them.
I'm glad everybody tonight wasable to come in.
Look for us in Kentucky in March, march 7th.
Uh, I'll be down in Florida, uh, that second week in March.
(27:00):
And then the one thing I wantedto say is if there's anybody
going to a whiskey fest, um,when's the Kentucky whiskey
festival that everybody goes to?
Um, I miss it every year.
But I'm thinking I want to goto a Whiskey Fest.
We're not going this year.
We were planning but CTcouldn't go, so I'm not going
(27:21):
again.
We'll probably go to NewOrleans next year, so we have an
opening to go to anotherWhiskey Festival between now and
Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
I'm looking for ideas, people, kentucky Bourbon Festival.
I'm looking for ideas, people, weekend ones, whatever.
We've been to the Galena, maybeone of the Whiskey Advocate
Festivals I'm looking.
I'm thinking about which one togo to, which one to cover.
(27:43):
So if you have any ideas, letme know.
I'm going to try and get downto Jack Daniels too, so that's
going to be pretty cool.
Got a couple people doing thatDaniels too, so that's going to
be pretty cool.
Um, got a couple people doingthat and then, um, you know, I
(28:05):
appreciate y'all.
I'm hanging in there for you.
I know these are a little bitshort, but you know, sometimes
you got to put them out when youneed your rest.
So again, we're having issues.
Haven't had it solved yet withuh.
Well, I haven't looked.
But um, with uh little Steve-O'swhiskey bar uh rendition.
I don't know why, after fouryears of playing it and all of a
(28:27):
sudden, uh, bbdo or whateverwho's the doors record company,
is saying that somehow it'stheirs.
Uh had to dispute that one.
Uh, but it's in dispute.
I'm not wrecking you startdoing it and they dispute
everyone.
And then also my YouTubechannel's all effed up.
You just got to go by whatYouTube and Facebook make you do
(28:47):
.
Uh, it's just play along, youknow.
So I will say one of the thingsI want to say is uh, I really
like um hanging out with youguys on a regular basis.
Uh, it's so good to catch upand see um the group.
So everybody, uh, remember,remember
(29:12):
wwwscotchiebourbonboyscom forall things Scotchie Bourbon Boys
, then Facebook, youtube, instagram and X, and then also
all the major podcast formatsApple, iheart, spotify mainly,
but everywhere you listen.
But whether you listen or oryou watch, make sure that you
(29:36):
comment what.
Why am I having a hard timewith this?
Oh, just, this is this isdefinitely it.
Um, comment, subscribe, listen, comment, subscribe and leave
good feedback.
I just you know that's what Igot.
But remember, good friendsequals good times.
(30:01):
Remember what is going on.
Remember good bourbon equalsgood times and good friends.
Remember good bourbon equalsgood times and good friends.
Don't drink and drive.
Drink responsibly and live yourlife uncut and unfiltered.
(30:23):
