The thundering hooves of Derby week have arrived in Kentucky, bringing bourbon lovers and racing fans together for the 151st running of America's most prestigious horse race. This year's event comes with a muddy forecast that's changing everything from the odds to the racing strategy.

What does a rainy Derby mean for the field? We're breaking down the latest odds where only three horses carry better than 10-1 chances. Our analysis points to Sovereignty at 5-1 as a strong contender in muddy conditions, though long shots like Citizen Bull (20-1) might surprise everyone.

The bourbon side of Derby weekend shines through our exploration of the commemorative Woodford Reserve Derby bottles. These annual releases feature unique artwork while containing their standard 90.4 proof bourbon. Our detailed tasting reveals notes of cherry, vanilla, brown sugar, and a touch of leather on the finish, earning a respectable 12.5/18 on our barrel breakdown scale.

Beyond the races, we're seeing fascinating developments in the bourbon market. Last year's talk of a "whiskey glut" seems premature as enthusiasm surges back. Buffalo Trace releases are becoming more available, Kentucky Bourbon Festival events are selling out in days instead of months, and distilleries are offering special Derby week bottles (some priced over $6,000).

For Derby first-timers looking to participate from home, we've got you covered with mint julep recommendations. The traditional Derby drink typically features Old Forester Rye, though pre-mixed bottles offer an easy alternative for casual fans.

Whether you're heading to Churchill Downs or watching from your living room, join us for this celebration of bourbon tradition and thoroughbred excellence. And if you're placing bets, remember our trifecta: Sovereignty to win, Journalism to place, and Citizen Bull to show!

real quick to make him inJubilip.
He might not, but he is headeddown tomorrow for all the fun

(02:36):

Although there's one thing thatis obvious so far and I don't
see a way out of it it lookslike you're going to need some
umbrellas and you're going toneed your boots because it's
going to be muddy and there'sgoing to be rain.
But that doesn't stop theKentucky Derby.

(02:58):
It never has right.
Nope, it sure doesn't.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
The only thing that will delay it is light-wing

Yep, yep, yep for sure.
And so tonight is our KentuckyDerby podcast.
It's the fourth one.
This is Super Nash.
Initially I really didn't knowtoo much about the Kentucky
Derby, so when we first startedthe first year, we did not do
one.
But the second year, whichwould have been the first year,
was 2020.

(03:28):
So 2021, we did one.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
One yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
And we did one in 2022, but we skipped 2023, and
we did one in 2024 and 2025.
We might have skipped 2022, Ithink We've done 23, 24, and 25,
but we skipped the 22 one and Idon't know why?

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, we skipped the 22.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I might have been someplace.
You know, you never know, and Ihave definitely.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
No, we didn't, because this one was May 7, 2022
.
I'm looking at the side of thebottle.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Yeah, but we skipped it because you might have bought
it.
But I went through today.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I'm pretty sure we did it because you might've
bought it, but I I went through.
Pretty sure we did it in 22.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Okay, so then we skipped 2023.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah, we skipped 2023 , because that's the bottle that
I don't have.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Yeah, that's probably you were getting married or
something, so we just skipped it.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I was probably at the beach.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
I could have been sick too.
You know, you don't, yeah, youmight have been that was when
you're just.

It's been.
I was on the phone today, honestly.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I was trying to give you some news, some breaking
news, breaking news, somebreaking news, some breaking
news.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Well, there's a lot of different things that I've
been learning about what's beengoing on and there's a lot of
stuff and we don't breakcontroversial anything.
So you know, I've been like Isaid.
The news is I've been hearing alot of rumors.
It's like there's so muchhappening in the bourbon world

(06:30):
and the market seems tocompletely be coming back
Everything that you are hearingNow.
I just wanted to talk aboutthis scenario here.
Just wanted to talk about thisscenario here.
When people talk about thebourbon industry last year and
they were talking about how, thethat we're headed to a glut and

(06:53):
that the bourbon boom is overOkay, so what?
Everybody doesn't just quitegrasp.
You know, there was so manypeople in the, in the writers,
talking about how, and peoplethat I would talk to, and
they're acting like it's a badthing.
I'm like, if you're a bourbondrinker, it's probably the

(07:16):
greatest thing that could everhappen.
One.
You have all these More product.
There's going all these moreproduct.
There's going to be moreproduct with possibly lower
prices.
Well, not possibly when it comesto the regular standard product
.
It's going to be because theyhave enough and they need to

(07:38):
lower the price to make you wantto go drink it, go drink it.
But two, they're also going tocome up with this aged whiskey
stock that they might not beselling as much as what they
thought.
Not only might it lower theprice, but they might come up
with different expressions andspecial bottles.

(07:58):
I mean, during the last timewhiskey went to hell, which was
the 70s and the early 80s, thedecanters that went out were
that's a decanter right there.
It's ceramic, it's made, theywould make so it's porcelain.

(08:18):
Yeah, they would.
Yeah, porcelain decanters,ceramic, whatever.
But the thing is is those werecheap.
Those weren't expensive on theshelf.
It wasn't like you were buying.
They were getting you to buythe whiskey they had.
It was like you were getting afree decanter.
It wasn't that much differentthan their actual bottle.

(08:40):
I mean, when you look at thoseprices, it's crazy.
So it's the same thing.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
If this happens, which I don't think it, I think
it was a whiskey pause, everybody was pausing, it was an
election year and everythingbut right now there's another
thing I wanted to talk about, and that's because last year was
an election year, you know, alot of people were holding on to
their money because they were, you know, it was an unstable
time and wasn't quite sure as towhat was going to happen and

(09:08):
all.
So that's another thing thatcontributed to what everybody
was calling the whiskey glut, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, and I think it might have.
There's an aspect I really feltthe whole overall feeling that
I get from people and theirability and willingness to buy
bottles, Like last year theydidn't want to go, they were
saving up money because theydidn't want to go to Kentucky
Bourbon Festival.

(09:37):
They're like I need to do this,I need to go on a family
vacation.
This year that wasn't the case.
It was like bam, everybody, thebus tour sold out, the bourbon
festival sold out in three daysit sells out normally in.
August.
I mean you just get adifference of the whole attitude

(09:58):
of what this year is going tobe.
And people are on board andwe're excited and realistically.
You know the season's reallykicked off In March.
We got a Booker's, which Ialways feel, but it's the
Kentucky Derby that just kicksoff the bourbon season.
I mean Woodford Reserve isgoing to be on TV all day.
I mean it's going to make thiswhiskey, which I'm not.

(10:20):
There's no whatever.
You know you have the threeDerby bottles there with the
paintings on them, but it'sstill the exact same whiskey.
It's still Woodford Reserve inthere.
It's not anything special.
It's the same whiskey, it's nota special batch.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Something else that I wanted to say before you got
into that too, was the firstthree months of this year.
Look at all the releases thatall the distilleries did.
I mean look at just for oneBuffalo Trace they actually sold

(10:56):
barrel-proof and single barrelsin their gift shop.
And also the four grain.
They released some four grainthat they had stock in stock of.
I mean, there was just tons andtons of bottles.
The Buffalo Trace AntiqueCollection it seems like you

(11:17):
know there was more bottlesreleased across the states than
ever before this year.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Well, we are getting into the fact that they're
trying to meet demand andthey're making more whiskey and
I really just for instance, youknow as well as I do last
saturday my wife was having athing and I and normally there's
a line at the giant eagle Iwent to get donuts because I was
out of the line and it was 8 30and there was two people in the

(11:45):
line and I and I knew that theyhad Eagle Rare and I heard
Taylor, and then they also had aBlanton's and they also had a
very old Barton.
Okay, but there was only twopeople in line at 8 30.
The one woman said she had beenthere since five but nobody
else was in line.
And I looked in and I saw threecases of taylor and I'm like

(12:07):
damn.
So I went, I went down and gotstuck in traffic and I was
trying to get back.
I got back about 9 20, walkedin and they still had a case and
a half of taylor left and theyasked me if I wanted another one
.
And when he asked me if youwant another one, and when he
asked me if he wanted anotherone, my jaw dropped.
That just means it doesn't meanthat people aren't buying it.

(12:30):
It means it's more availableand people have it, and that's
what you're going to see moreand more of, I think.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I bought two.
Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
One for you.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
One for me.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
One for you, one for me.
One for me, for you one for me,one for me, yes, anyways, all
right.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
So, uh, that brings us to uh what we're going to
talk about, uh, the kentuckyderby 151st running of the
kentucky derby and this justhappens to be the woodford
Reserve Derby Bottle releasewith the annual painting that

(13:07):
they've been doing for the last.
What?

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Now turn that sideways.
Is that the standard?
Yeah, that's the standard thinbottle like I got right here,
correct?

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
All right.
Now I wonder if there's one daythat they're going to put a
Derby.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
And yours is 90.4.
Proof right, yeah, standardWoodford Reserve, yeah, 90.4.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
I'm hoping one of these days they stick it on one
of these bottles and they do aDerby batch like this why not
bottles?
And they do a derby batch likethis why not like a foolproof,
full, full cast strength derbybottle with on one of their
special bottles?
That would be nice now, thatwould be awesome.

(13:57):
But they do release at thekentucky burby, at the kentucky
derby I just keep wanting to sayburby I just like that.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Like these are also all, all the three of these
bottles, derby bottles and thenand the woodford reserve.
They're also one liter bottles,so they're not 750 milliliters,
they're also one liter.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yes, yes, you can get that on both of what I actually
think.
This Woodford is a one liter, nope, this is a 750.
No, this one's a 750.
All right, so what I wanted tosay was Can you say that yours
was a 750?

Speaker 3 (14:35):
This one.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Yeah, yeah, it says 750.
Okay, yeah, I just looked at itall.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
the derby bottles are one liter okay right.
So I'm just gonna finish up mywhiskey thief here just to be
correct, I had to look at themall and, to be correct, he puts
post-it notes on them all.

(15:02):
He puts post-it notes on themall.
I ain't got no post-it notes onthe back.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
All right, I wish I did.
When you go down to Kentucky atthis time of year actually any
time of year especiallyBardstown and Louisville, the
Kentucky Derby is so much a partof the heartbeat of the cities.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Oh yeah, louisville comes alive for about a week and
a half.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
And for the world, all for a minute.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Yeah, yeah, because I mean there are so many people
that they're not really intohorse racing.
But for that one day, onSaturday, you hear millions of
people across the nation thatare tuning into it just because
it's such a spectacle to watch.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
It used to be initially, and when it people
would wear, would dress up fancyfor this.
It was a a fancy event.
It showcases the best, the besthorses, the best.
It's the first of the trip, thefirst race of the triple crown,

(16:20):
um, and it highlights all, allof the whole year of what all
the owners of the horses havedone, um and train and all the
training that went on.
Uh, let's see zero nine one.
Okay, there we go, and I justwanted to.

(16:42):
Let's see history.
It says the origins of theKentucky Bourbon.
All right, early days.
Okay, so the Kentucky Derby wasfounded by Meriwether Lewis

(17:02):
Clark Jr.
I assume that's Lewis Clark, the Lewis Clark, right?

Speaker 3 (17:07):
I'm going to think.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
But in 1875, inspired by his trip to the Epsom Derby
in England, the inaugural racetook place at Churchill Downs
and attracted around 10,000spectators.
The derby, originally a 1.5mile race, was shortened to 1.25

(17:31):
miles in 1896.
So there you go.
That's kind of like the startof it, right?
And this is the 151st runningthere's been.
The history of horse racing isgeneralized but then it's

(17:52):
immortalized by some of thehorses when the sport became,
when television became prominentand they could start televising
this race this minute of youknow, high intensity across the
United States and the world.

(18:12):
And then that's when thenotoriety of the Derby has
really taken off.
I would say currently theamount of people who watch and
get into it.
They have done a really goodjob of modernizing it into the
television.
You know the television aspectof this day.

(18:34):
You can participate TV, justlike it has for baseball and
what it does for football.
It's done what it needs to dofor for horse racing and
especially the kentucky derby.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
I mean, everything about it is just perfection,
right uh, you want me to giveyou a little bit about this?
Uh, woodford reserve, uh, theDerby bottle?
Sure, all right.

(19:09):
The Woodford Reserve KentuckyDerby bottle is a popular
limited edition bourbon knownfor its rich, complex flavor
profile and unique artwork.
Each year, the distillerycollaborates with a different
artist to create a unique labeldesign for the Derby bottle,
making a sought-aftercollectible for bourbon and
racing fans.
The bourbon itself is the sameas the standard Woodford Reserve

(19:32):
Distiller Select, but thecommemorative label makes it a
special edition.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
So the part of this whiskey right here is when you
go to Woodford Reserve and I wasI have to throw out to Stacy
and Randy for letting me be apart.
I love Woodford Double Oak.
It's one of my favorite shelfbourbons, reasonably priced for

(20:02):
what it is, and I love theflavor profile and everything.
So this year I got to go on theKentucky Bourbon Festival pick
of the batch of Woodford DoubleOak that they were going to
receive for the festival.
Quite honestly, when we werethere, one of the things

(20:52):
youville and the pot distilledwhiskey that they distill at
woodford reserve and they makethe, the blend the two together
and, quite frankly, over theyears I really have found what
would you say?
What's he drinking?

(21:14):
Woodford double oak store pick.
As you speak, that's john ritt.
I found that, that the.
I like the blend between thepot still and I mean those pot
stills are giant, right.
And speaking of the artworkthere, super dash, let me share,

(21:35):
share Everybody.
I'll pull this.
Oh my God, did that really justhappen?
I didn't want to do that.

(21:56):
I wanted to do this.
All right, we'll pull this over.
You can see all the differentbottles, but this one right here
, oh, I didn't want to do that, let's go back here.
All right, I think.
Well, that's full screen, butyou can't see it.
Let's.
I don't know how to get that.

(22:17):
All right, let's see whathappens when I do this.
That is like the worst thingthat just could have happened to
go full screen.
I didn't want it to go fullscreen, let's see.
I don't even know how to getout of it.
Alright, there we go.
Oh, it did it again.
Why?

Speaker 3 (22:34):
are you doing that?
I'm going to give you the mashbill.
The mash bill is 72% corn, 18%rye and 10% malted barley, and
usually it's undisclosed butit's estimated between six and
eight years.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
As the age of it.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Right, and you can see this is one of the artworks
that went on the bottle.
Here's this bottle.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
So over the years, that one was from the 151st,
50th, the 150th, last year's.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Yep, and then you've got the one.
I believe you have this oneright From 2020.
This year's correct.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yes, that's the 151st , and then I also have this one
from the 149th.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
Let's see what this one is.
Is that, do you?

Speaker 3 (23:27):
148th is what I have.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Okay, do you see that one there?
Yeah, all right, I mean, andit's just like really unique.
On the different, each one, there's the 20, behind the 20th
anniversary of Woodford DerbyBottle.
So that's that, that one there.
And so I'll get off sharescreen right here, stop sharing

(23:52):
and we'll go back here.
So one of the things about likethis this is a hand painted
glass that was at what's theliquors Not evergreen liquor
that we were there for the firsttime and our wives love these

(24:13):
glasses and they they went on aday trip, but between the women
and a trip shopping spree, yeah, and they came back with these
stuff, my luck for for kentuckybourbon festival and uh, or for
the Kentucky Derby.
And it's really kind of cool tohave these glasses.
They're hand painted.
And the same thing with thebottles.
They actually sell bottles, butthey do release some high end,

(24:40):
very expensive bottles on theweek of Kentucky Derby at the
Woodford Distillery.
Yes, when we were learningabout the tour, I mean you're
talking, I believe it's like a$6,700 bottle of Woodford
Reserve and it's all special andthere's only four or five of

(25:03):
them.
I mean they do that for theKentucky Derby and I believe
they did it again.
So it's just like, and Ibelieve they do it for charity
to some extent.
So it's kind of a cool thing.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Yeah, I believe that's why CT is going down
tomorrow is for all the releases.
Ct is going down tomorrow asfor all the releases Buffalo
Trace does their annual releaseof the Blantons Kentucky Derby.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
I don't know how they're doing that this year.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
I don't know.
They've got a gift shop that'sopen and so they will be doing
it again.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I'm pretty sure I hadn't heard anybody saying that
they're not the hard part aboutit is that you have to have
reservation, you have toactually book it online to even
be let in.
That's how they're keeping thecrowds down.
So the other aspect is that andWoodford Reserve.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
like I said, they're releasing their stuff at the
distillery too, and you knowWoodford Reserve is one of CT's
favorites to go to.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Yes, yes for sure.
So the other aspect is beforeWoodford Reserve, which is a
fairly new brand by Brown andForeman, the brand before of the
Kentucky Bourbon Festival wasOld Forrester.
So for the longest time OldForrester was the one that was

(26:35):
the brand for the Kentucky Derby.
And then right now, OldForrester is being used to be
the bourbon of the mint julep, that is, the drink of the Derby.
I mean, the only time mostpeople drink mint juleps will be
Saturday.
They sell a lot of mint julepson.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Saturday, and they usually make it with the Old
Forrester rye whiskey.
What I was just showing therewas the Old Forrester single
barrel barrel strength ryewhiskey that they came out with
Because a lot of people weresaying that since they used it
so much in the mint tulips, youknow why don't they do a barrel

(27:19):
strength single barrel?
And so that's why they came outwith this.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Right, but now, before we get into the, let's go
over the field of horses andbefore we get into the old
Louisville barrel bottlebreakdown of Woodford Reserve
Derby bottle bottle.
I would like to you know therace is the race and the pull

(27:48):
and and the the post positionshave been set and you got a
share screen that are you goingto share?
Share the post positions I haveit up on.
I can.
I suppose I don't thinkanybody's going to see I didn't
do it on the share screenbecause I didn't have time.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
I just have it up on my, but I think I got it up on
my phone here, so I mean you canread the first 10.
I'll read the second 10.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Right, there's 20 positions.
Citizen Bull is in the firstposition give us odds while
you're doing it you're gonnamake me give odds so I can do
that.
I will.
Yeah, uh, it shouldn't.
Why did it do that?
All right, let's see, there itis.

(28:38):
Post position call it up.
Oh, that didn't help.
All right, you're asking asodds going to be on this one.
All right, right now, numberone china bull is 20 to one.

(29:00):
Citizen Bowl Sorry, the Neo,neox, is that how you say it?
Neo-equus, neo-equus, neo-equusis 30 to 1.
Final Gambit is 30 to 1.
Rodriguez 4 12 to 1.
5.

(29:20):
American Promise 30 to 1,admire Daytona 30-1, luxor Cafe
15-1, journalism 3-1, burnhamSquare 12-1, and Grande is 20-1

(29:48):
and grande is 20 to 1, andbefore I read the second 10, uh,
starting gates.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
There is only three horses with less than 10 to 1
odds in this race.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Every, everything, every other horse is above 10 to
1 odds and that really changedonce the weather forecast
started to say that it's goingto be rainy and we are talking
about, I think, Friday you'retalking some huge downpours, and

(30:16):
getting that racetrack ready isgoing to be a challenge.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
It's going to be a challenge then they always rise
to the occasion, that groundcrew there, uh, which our friend
randy pross is talking aboutbefore, they're exceptional and
and how they get that trackready because they continually
do it all week long, uh, becausethey're running races every day
and, uh, you know, probably upto up to 10 races a day, yeah,

(30:45):
and they ran races today, they're running races tomorrow
and they but that one is goingto be.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
That's going to be interesting to see because
that's the.
The forecast for that isintense.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
We're talking, all right for the next uh 11 through
20 starting gates.
In the 11th gate you've gotFlying Mohawk at 30 to 1 odds.
12th gate is East Avenue at 20to 1 odds.
13th gate is Publisher at 20 to1 odds.
In the 14th gate you haveTiztastic at 20 to 1 odds.

(31:21):
15th gate Render Judgment 30 to1 odds.
At 16th Gate you have CoalBattle 30 to 1 odds.
In the 17th Gate you haveSandman 6 to 1 odds.
18th Gate, you have Sovereignty, sovereignty, sovereignty,

(31:43):
sovereignty.
Yeah, that's what I said.
What'd you hear?
Sovereignty, sovereignty atfive to one odds.
And in 19th gate you havechukka gold 31 odds, 30 to one.
And in the 20th gate, finalstarting position, you have owen
Almighty at 30-1 odds.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
There you go.
So there is the feel Now.
We're going to pick our picksin the end, but we're going to
first do the old Louisville.
We're going to do the oldLouisville Whiskey Company
barrel bottle breakdown.
I said we do our picks now.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Nope, we're going to do it after.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
While we're talking about the horses, no, we're
going to keep them waiting tosee what our picks are.
Okay, this is marketing here.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
All right, I'll take that paper down, so nobody can
be spying on it.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
All right, so we have the old Louisville whiskey
company barrel bottle breakdown.
Make sure you stop in and sayhi to Amin in Louisville,
Kentucky, over at the oldLouisville Whiskey Company.
He's got a great experience,he's got great whiskey and
definitely, if you're in thearea, get a hold of him and a

(33:01):
stop there is well worth it.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Absolutely, because you'll be tasting straight from
the barrel and you can pick up abottle of uh, of what he's
already got bottled up uh.
So you can't go wrong at oldlouisville whiskey company all
right.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
So our old louisville whiskey company barrel bottle
breakdown scale is based off offour categories the nose, the
body, the taste, the finish.
Uh, you can give up to fourknocks for the nose and the body
and up to five knocks for thetaste and the finish.
But if one of the categories isexceptional, you can give it,

(33:40):
like I did on Tuesday to the oldCarter, the nose on.
That was fantastic.
I wanted to make sure I missedthat.
Oh, you missed it All right.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
You said old Carter, old Taylor.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
I'm sorry, Old Taylor , Look at you know who's that's
for.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Oh, it's gotta be me.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Uh-huh, it's gotta be me.
I-huh, it's got to be me.
I did the barrel bottlebreakdown of Old Taylor, but
that's left, and the nose got abut up up, so it actually pulled
an 18 of 18.
18 out of 18 in the end.
That was a fantastic whiskey.
Now I'm all ready.

(34:23):
I'm ready.
When you are, I am tasting inthis special tasting glass.
This is the tasting glass ofthe bourbon trail.
This, this glass, was developedby jimmy russell, I believe.
Fred no, and everybody gottogether to get a tasting glass

(34:44):
that would be for bourbon, andthis is the type glass that they
came up with.
So I got it.
Here it goes.
I'm going to nose this.
I'm getting a lot of cherry onmine.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
I'm getting a lot of cherry on mine and a lot of
vanilla and caramel.

Speaker 1 (35:13):
Some vanilla airplane model glue.
No, a little bit of ethanol, all right.
That's not a bad nose and somekind of dry fruit, but I'm not

(35:46):
quite sure it's cherry.
My mind is really I get a tonof.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
I drank it and the notes are apple and vanilla and
brown sugar and, oh my gosh, that is so sweet I like it's

(36:14):
funny because I don't think I'veever I've had woodford probably
a hundred hundred times.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
A lot of times if I default at the bar, I will
default to a woodford reserve, especially if you're with.
I mean, I like the bottle, thebottle itself, its original
bottle of woodford reserve.
It exudes class.
You know what I mean.
It's a classy bottle.
It's not nerdy classy becausethere's some really nerdy classy

(36:41):
bottles.
You know that's plain.
This is not a plain label.
This is well thought out.
It's got the woodford reserve.
It's like when you go there tothe distillery.
It's very, very professional.
It's a professional.
You know.
You feel the attention to everysingle little detail where
you're at.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
I'm getting brown sugar and cinnamon spice, maybe
even just a the finish of it.
Yeah, on the finish I'm gettinglike the cherry, or like a real

(37:37):
tart cherry.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
I mean, these are going to be different.
You're drinking 2025 and I'mdrinking 2019.
This brand has evolved sixyears.
It shouldn't evolve too much, but I can guarantee you in 2019,
it's still.
The brand has come so far andBrown and Foreman have come far
with the brand and the DoubleOak.

(38:02):
Everything they've been doingwith this brand has been to make
it better, but this is prettygood, I have to say.
This bottle, special to me,first ever bottle of Woodford
Reserve I bought and I'm goingto basically drink it on the
Kentucky Derby podcast goingforward.

(38:22):
But you're ready?

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Yes, I'm going to start off on the nose.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
You can start off.
Look at the legs on that, whatthat's doing.
All right, you can start off onthe nose.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
It's so thick and sugary, I'm going to have to
give it a three.
I really like this nose.
I mean there's a lot going onhere.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Super Nash gives it a three, three knocks on the
barrel.
One, two, three, hope thatdoesn't.
One, two, three, hope thatdoesn't.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
It's not super complex, but I mean it's got a
lot going on and you can paybetween all the different aromas
that it's got coming off of it.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
I am switching off between nostrils because I'll
get something off one nostriland then get something off the
other well, it's funny becausethe nostril that was plugged on
tuesday that didn't work at allwas not my my dominant nostril,
but today that is my dominantnostril.
I haven't been monitoring thecomments.
I'm sorry, everybody, everybody.

(39:42):
I kind of ended up with let'ssee.
Let's see if I can get thecomments back up.
Here we go, there we go.
Walker said that the Blantonsreleased today.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Howdy Randy.
What's up, alan Matt?

Speaker 1 (40:03):
Walker yeah, I saw the 375 Blantons.
Yeah, there's no way you canget me to go to Buffalo Trace
for Blantons on Derby Week.
No way, it's like.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
It's a madhouse every year the lines that line up
just for those 375 bottles.
Just because it's a specialDerby, it has the Kentucky Derby
sticker on it.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
I can think of a lot better things to wait for in the
parking lot than the actualBlantons, especially what
they've been doing lately.
Blantons has been almostreadily available.
It's it's crazy how much.
It's everywhere.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
I go uh, here lately is had Blanton's on the shelf
ready, ready to sell, yep.
And let's and I want to give ashout out to uh, to Mickey
Finn's uh beverage Depot.
They're down in Florence.
A shout out to Mickey Finn'sBeverage Depot.
They're down in Florence.
They got three stores downthere and they're the ones that

(41:08):
helped me get this bottle todayand they do a lot of barrel
picks.
They had probably over 15different barrel picks in their
stores from all the distilleriesthey go to.
Plus, they have all the top.
I mean hard to find bourbons.

(41:30):
They had everything fromBlanton straight from the barrel
, straight Blanton's gold,regular Blantons.
They had EH Taylor's, all theBooker's.
And I missed out on the Booker'sbecause I stopped at the first
store and asked for the derbybottle.
They were out, already sold outof it there.
But he called up the number twostore and sent me across town

(41:52):
to get it.
So I picked it up over there.
Well then I asked him becausethey had a bunch of other
bookers up there, older versions, and I said, what about the
2025 01?
And uh, then the guy told me hesays, oh, we got that back at
the, the number uh threelocation.
Yeah, I said, um, I was on myway back back from little river

(42:14):
and all that.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
So I was like no way I'm not driving back to
crosstown just to get thatbottle so on youtube we have cnk
, a youtube asking a questionwhich was teach me an easy derby
drink.
So I can do that.
So you take, you take a glassand you put some crushed ice in
there.
Then you go, and I would go.

(42:37):
But you can go to your storeand you can get, uh, sprigs of
mint.
I will go outside and pick somesprigs of mint, you drop it in
the glass and then, you makesure, muddle it.
You muddle that, yeah, youmuddle some of it, but then you
also have the, the sprig rightthere with the ice, and then you

(42:58):
, then you go to your local, youhave your, you've gone to your
local liquor store and youpicked up the.
Old Forrester rye whiskey no no,the Old Forrester mint julep
bottle oh already made, yeah, and you basically pour it.

(43:20):
She wanted something easy andyou basically pour it.
She wanted something easy.
And you pour that mix in andyou're ready to go with the
actual drink of the KentuckyDerby.
So, that's what I would do.
I would suggest that you go toyour local store, pick up some
mint and pick up the bottle thatis I believe it's the Old

(43:41):
Forrester, right yeah it's OldForrester Mint Julep Right
Already pre-mixed.
I believe Evan Williams does onetoo, If I'm not mistaken.
I think I've seen that.
But the Mint Julep is availablealready pre-mixed, just to pour
over ice.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
Come to think of it, I think my wife had gotten a
bottle of that and I.
I actually got it down on thebottom shelf somewhere because
she didn't want me drinking it.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
All right, so so you gave it a three for a nose.
Yes, I did.
I do like the nose, but I thinkthere's an aspect of where I
think it's a two.
It's the average nose and it'sprobably out of everything about
the Woodford Reserve.
To me, that's the that's.

(44:33):
This is the nose is probablythe weakest part to me.
I like it, it's good, butthat's the part that I want.
I just don't get enough ofsomething that I'm looking for.
It's.
It's almost like it's there.
I like a little.
There's a little cherry,there's a little wood, there's a
little vanilla, but there'snothing like.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
See, that could also also be contributed to that.
That bottle is a few years oldand and lost just a little bit
of it, and mine.
Mine is a few years old andlost just a little bit of it and
mine is, you know, what theycall a fresh crack.
But I had opened this up when Igot home and left it open and
then I poured my glass before Ieven came on the podcast.

(45:15):
So it's been sitting here, youknow, just aerating a little bit
.
But, like I say, mine is just.
It's got a lot of aroma to it.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Alright, so I'm going to give it two One, two barrel
bangs or knocks, not bangs,knocks.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
That's right, knocks.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Alright.
So that brings us to the body.
The body.
I get to go first on this one.
Yes, you do.
What's amazing at 94.
What's the proof?
92.4?

Speaker 3 (45:56):
90.4.

Speaker 1 (45:58):
90.4.
That it actually hits my cheeks.
It's like I have to give this,as far as a body, a three.
It's surprising to me theamount of body that Woodford
does have.
So I'm going to give it threeknocks.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
One two, I'm going to go ahead and agree with you so
you can give it three more forme, because it's hitting all
sides of my mouth.
You can see it's thick in theglass and I mean the flavor has
just got you there.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
It's the barrel bottle breakdown and I'm
breaking down the barrel, sothree knocks for that.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
All right, Now we come to taste, Like I was saying
before.
You know this aroma, this tasteis just matching the aroma.
I'm getting brown sugar.
I get a dusty Cinnamon spice.

(47:09):
Did you get?

Speaker 1 (47:10):
a dusty aspect out of it, like that flavor that you
get off the dusty, that likealmost the burnt.
Yes, yes, that's there.

Speaker 3 (47:21):
That's there too in the background, and I'm getting
that little bit of fruit almosttart cherry, maybe even a little
citrusy.

Speaker 1 (47:34):
But I get that vanilla pudding Right in there.
I don't know if I put thevanilla pudding in the finish or
just the underlying flavor.
On the taste, Because if I putthe vanilla pudding in the
flavor it's very good.
All right, you're up for flavorTaste.

Speaker 3 (47:57):
You're going to have to give it a four.

Speaker 1 (47:59):
Well, he gives it a four.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
It's got a great taste to it.
Four barrel knocks Go ahead.
What I was saying it's got agreat taste to it, lots of
flavor coming through and it'svery pleasant, very pleasant
mouthfeel, which I probablyshould have said that on the
body.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
That's so good that I am going to give it also a four
.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
All right, One, two three, four, alright, finish.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
The finish is medium.
I do pick up after this now, alittle bit of that leather
flavor, little bit of the ofyour that leather flavor.
So I'm going to give the finishon this one because it's medium
.
I pick up a little of theleather.
I gave the vanilla to get tobump up that three flavor to a

(49:17):
four flavor on the taste, butthe I'm going to say the finish
is a three, one, two, three onthe taste, but I'm gonna say the
finish is a three, one, two,three, 90.4.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
This is coming across the finish to me.
I'm still picking up flavorsafter I took that sip a few
minutes ago and because of that,I mean I get that little bit of
leathery oaky taste in it onthe finish, on the back end.

(49:59):
Bit of leathery oaky taste init.
It's on the finish, on the backend, because I'm getting the
brown sugar and the sweetness ofmaybe the vanilla and cinnamon
spice that's hitting all acrossthe front and all across my
tongue.
It's a medium, like you said,it's a medium finish and because

(50:39):
of that I think I'm going tohave to give it a 3-2.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
All right, One, two, three.
The bottom rung fell off thebarrel, so I have to put that
back.
Oh wow, that's because we beat.
You know, barrels aren'tsupposed to be knocked.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
Right, you gave it a total of 12.
I gave it a total of 13, whichgives us a 12.5.

Speaker 1 (51:06):
Out of 18, which, when you're talking about the
standard small batch, you knowthey're Kentucky straight.
This is the standard batch thatthey make the distiller select.
I mean seriously, can you forone second like knock a 12.5 out

(51:31):
of 18 for and for?

Speaker 3 (51:33):
49, 49, 99, that that's 50 bucks for a liter
bottle.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
Right, but that's with the painting on it.
It's cheaper if you just buythe regular one.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
I think it's more than $6.99 without the art.
They had a gift set that I wantto say was cheaper than this
bottle here.
Yes, they had the gift set thathad that bottle there and two
glasses and I want to say it waslike 46.99 actually the gift
set would have been probablythere, or maybe even five

(52:12):
dollars cheaper, because it's aseven that's what I just said.
It was like 46.99, no, but Ieven meant 45.99 yeah yeah, it
might, but that one is aprobably a 750 milliliter, so
you know you're talking aboutthe extra 250 milliliters on
that yeah, now that you say it,I bet it was a 750 milliliter

(52:32):
bottle of the woodford reservedistiller, because that's what
they tried to offer me, becauseon the box it had 150, first run
into the kentucky derby andthen it had the two glasses with
it.
But not and I was like, no,that's not the one I want, I
want the one with the artwork onit.
And that's when they sent me tothe other store.
And then the one guy he didn'twork there very much and I said,

(52:56):
yeah, they called from theother store and sent me over
here, and then he tried to showme oh yeah, they're all right
here.
And there was a whole big stackof those boxes, you know, with
the glasses.
I said no, no, no, I said Iwant the one with the paint.
So then we walked to the backand that's where this was.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
You got it out of the back.

Speaker 3 (53:15):
It's my guy saying no it was on, I mean the back of
the store, because that's wherethe bourbon was.
It was on the show with all theother woodford reserve up here
in ohio.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
They went insane.
He said he sold out of thepainting.

Speaker 3 (53:29):
You know the painted ones last week, oh wow well, see
, that store that first one Istopped off is right off the
interstate and it's right besidea bucky's of all places, I mean
right across the parking lotfrom a Bucky's, and so they sold
out of it there.

Speaker 1 (53:48):
Here we go.
Listen to this.

Speaker 3 (53:52):
Oh, oh.
Which one is that you'redrinking?

Speaker 1 (53:56):
This is what Randy got for me that I traded for a
Weller.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
Read it.
Read off the front of it andtell me what I don't want to say
, what Randy got you.
Read off the front of thebottle what it is.
It's the 117th series.

Speaker 1 (54:13):
Yeah, I know which one it is too, but I'll still
read it off the bottle.
Do I wear it?

Speaker 3 (54:17):
No, no, oh, you have your glasses.
Because I want to know if I gotit?
I probably don't have that one.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
This is the Angel Share.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
The High Angel Share.
Yeah, I've got that one.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
Yeah, well, I basically drank one and I love
it so much.
You got me another one.
I've opened mine yet well, youmight as well do it now.
I just opened mine no, I'm not.

Speaker 3 (54:39):
I'm not.
Are you gonna drink from thebottle?

Speaker 1 (54:42):
I was nosing it.
It's going in the other glassbecause this is the power for
the uh I told you what, uh whatI got.

Speaker 3 (54:50):
I got the old forester single barrel barrel
strength rye whiskey.
I've already got a pour pouredup that I'm going to sip on in
honor of the mint julep.
Yeah, I wish I could see thatbottle down there.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
The banana on.
This is crazy.
I'm going to say it's the GwenStefani no Doubt song.
No Doubt, yeah, this shit'sbananas.
B-a-n-a-n-a-s.
That's the best, thepresidential.

(55:29):
So my old Forester, once I wentto the distillery like when I
was there the last time, Ibelieve a couple months ago I
was down there and saw Walterand got it Look at that color.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
Yeah, Look at that color.
It's the barrel strength, single barrel rye whiskey Old
Forrester.

Speaker 1 (55:52):
And what's this strength of the Old Forrester
Angel share?

Speaker 3 (55:57):
Look at that.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
Okay, I started with glasses.
How come I can't finish withthem?

Speaker 3 (56:04):
Oh my gosh.
This thing this is 127.5 proofCame from warehouse 6 floor.
This is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
I mean, I should floor floor floor floor floor
floor floor floor floor floorfloor floor floor floor floor
floor floor floor floor floorfloor floor floor floor floor
floor floor floor floor floorfloor floor floor floor floor
floor floor floor floor floorfloor floor floor floor floor
floor floor floor floor floor, floor, floor floor floor, floor,

floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor,
floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor,
floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor,
floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor, floor floor
floor floor floor floor floorfloor floor floor floor floor
floor floor floor floor floorfloor floor floor floor floor
floor floor floor.
Well, it's like Randy knows, ohmy God, chris Morris, and that

(56:39):
is the one guy we haven't met orhad a relationship, and Randy
talks about him all the time.
This is Randy Prass, not RandyFord, and so definitely well,
you know, I've always liked theold Forester mhm, but if you

(57:06):
remember that you sent up those150 anniversaries and you sent
me and Young knows those.
And then we had an 86 oldForester 86.
We had an 86, Old Forester 86.
We had an Old Forester straightbarrel, single barrel barrel,
proof pick and we put that alltogether and we had 1910 and

(57:28):
1920 in a blind and I ended uppicking.
The one anniversary blend wasone but the other one was six.
And then the Old Forester 86was number two.
But this is like banana bread.

(57:51):
This Angel's Share is so good.
And then the presidential thatWalker has.
I will buy a presidential.
I want my own presidentialbottle.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
I know you can pick out those banana notes on that
old horse Because you gotspanked I didn't get spanked.

Speaker 1 (58:11):
I was the star of the class and he had to let me, he
spanked you.

Speaker 3 (58:16):
Well he was Hold your horses there, big boy.
Yes, right in the middle of theclass, but it was impressive
that I knew even the proof ofwhat it was.

Speaker 1 (58:28):
Yes, you did, and it was blind.
It wasn't even said what it was.
Oh, I know, it was just likeout of all the whiskeys to be
tasting, I'm like that's oldforester.
And then I'm like I'm likethat's the 86 and that's 100,
and that's you gotta admit thatwas so funny.

Speaker 3 (58:45):
He called you out, told you to hold your horses
yeah, and then he told me I wasright afterwards yeah, that's
true, that's the first.
That's one thing I love about alot of the old forester
products is they have that, thatbanana runts like the, the, the
runts candy, banana runts candy, they have that.

Speaker 1 (59:08):
That note to a lot of them I would put this on a
bananas foster and just pour itover the top of the bananas and
the ice cream.
It's so good.
This is one of my favoritebottles.
I think this is right up therewith the old cart.
I just love this 117 serieswith the angel share.

(59:29):
Now Randy's trying to get methe single Rickhouse one too.
Andy's trying to get me thesingle Rickhouse one too.

Speaker 3 (59:35):
You know, I sent you a sample of this single barrel
strength rye whiskey.

Speaker 1 (59:44):
Have you got it down there on your shelf?

Speaker 3 (59:47):
I'm sure somewhere it's got the green label.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
I know what the hell it is.
Yeah, it's somewhere there,nash, I ain't digging for it.

Speaker 3 (59:55):
Oh, I know why Because you don't like rye, I
ain't digging for it.

Speaker 1 (59:56):
I know why because you don't like rye, I don't they
gave me a rye and it was like,oh, I got from a guy the rye of
a bullet tenure rye and that wasa loaded.

Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
The rye of a bullet 10-year rye, and that was loaded
, it wasn't as bad as I thoughtit was going to be, but it's
still bullet.
10-year rye I like this ryewhiskey.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
I don't think you'll like it.
What rye whiskey did I have?
There was one lately.

Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
This is like oh my gosh, this is like real spicy
Before we go.

Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
we got to wrap this up.
We gave that a 12.5.
Oh, we got to do our picks.

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
And just know that Walter was telling me that he
did a special series at WhiskeyThief that he's going to be
sending me the bottle up and itwas of ryes and he goes.
It's a rye like no other butall the ryes were over 100.
He said he was going throughhis collection in the Rick House
and it turned out that four ofthem of the r rides that were in

(01:01:15):
there were all over 140 proofand the one that he's sending me
he said it was 146.7.

Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
Holy shit, I love this ride.
I love this ride right here.

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
So here we are again.
So here we are again.
So we'll.
So the three main guys, thethree to one is journalism, the
six to one is sandman and thefive Burnham Square, but

(01:01:58):
everybody else is 20-30-1.
That is a crazy count, oh myGod.

Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
There is going to be so much money passed to the
Kentucky all through betting onthese horses.
It's going to be unreal.

Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
This race is going to make some people rich because
of those odds unless my pickscome in the way they come I you
bet on horses up there on youruh that I can get on the app,
but it was just too much of apain in the butt.
I might look at it tomorrow andsee if I can, and I'm gonna put

(01:02:36):
these down, put the money down, but I'm well.
I haven't been doing too muchbetting.
I I ever since football wasover.
I I've got money in my in myaccount, but I've just been
letting it sit.

Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
I usually bet, bet some baseball but I'm asking you
, I want you to do a $10 bet ora $2 bet.
It's just a $2 trifecta on mythree horses.

Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Well, if I get on, I'll call you.
Okay.
All right, let's start out withnumber three.

Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
Hold the paper up to your camera so everybody can see
it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
No, go first.
You go first on your numberthree, and then I'll say my
number three.

Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
I thought you were going to go first, then you go
first on your number two.
I'll go first, then my numberthree and I'll put the paper up
there just so everybody can see.
My number three is Sandman atsix to one odds, I believe.
Yep, six to one odds, Sandman.

Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
So you basically went with the odds makers.
No.

Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
No no.

Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
Three to one is journalism, five to one is
sovereignty and six to one isjournalism.

Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
Like I always do, I always look at the horses and
try to find a little bit ofbackground on the horses, and
that's why I went with Sandman.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
But he is placed in the odds number three.

Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
No, he's number three .

Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
It would be journalism.
Sovereignty Sandman would bethe way the odds are saying.
So I'm going with something alittle bit different.
I'm going with Citizen Bull, at20 to 1, as my number three.
He is in the number one postposition, which is an advantage.

(01:04:38):
He's got the inside right offthe bat.

Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
Citizen Bull at 20 to one odds.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
All right, I'll go with.
I'll tell you first what mynumber two is.

Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
I'm going with.
Did you think you're sayingCitizen Bull was number?

Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
three.
That's my number three.
Okay, it's.

Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
Yeah because, I want to write the.

Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
Win place.
And what's the third one?

Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
Go Win place and show and what's the third one?

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
Win place and show.
So I picked Citizen Bull toshow.
Now I picked journalism toplace.

Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Citizen Bull, and he's at 20 to 1.

Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
I'm writing yours down down below mine yeah, who
are you journalism, journalismto place.
Who are you picking to place?

Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
he is at 3 to 1 odds and he is a highly picked
favorite among a lot of peoplebecause he's won his last three
races, yep.
But it's going to be muddy andrainy and he won't.

Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
He's not going to win , but he's going to do well.

Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
Oh, my second pick.
A lot of people don't knowabout, but I'm picking Burnham
Square.

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Okay, it's not the worst.
He went with a 12-1.

Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
He's a 12-1 on.

Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
He would be tied for fourth place in the odds.

Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
But the thing about Burnham Square is he won.

Speaker 1 (01:06:31):
Ties with Rodriguez.

Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
Also, he's known for going on the inside and getting
to the inside and running theinside, and from where he's
starting at in the ninth gate,I'm pretty sure that he can get
there.
I can't remember the race thathe won, but I know he won a

(01:06:56):
recent race this year alreadyand that's how that got him
there.
So, and that other thing is islike a lot of the horses, if
they can get to the inside, they've got the better chance of
winning, and so that's why Ipicked Burnham Square.

Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:07:14):
Who do you pick to win?
I am picking Sovereignty.
Well my first choice and he isat five to one odds.

Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
Can you read mine oh?

Speaker 3 (01:07:33):
my gosh, you're picking Sovereignty too, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
We're both picking him to win yep, so there you go.

Speaker 3 (01:07:41):
He also won.
Won a race, uh, this year, ortwo races he's a mutter, yeah,
and he can run it, he can run it, he can run in the mud well,
that's what they were saying.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
I was, well, I watched the show, uh, on fan
duel, and they were just sayingthat this horse, he wasn't
earlier in the in the time whenrandy first posted he wasn't.
He was not the number, but oncethe weather report started
going that it's going to berainy and muddy, no matter what,

(01:08:18):
they were just 100 talking thathe was going to be up there
somewhere.
Yeah, so there you go.
That's our picks.
Uh, let's finish up.
Wait a minute.

Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
I'm just now reading this.
Today, the horse Rodriguez wasscratched on Thursday bringing
Beza into the 2025 KentuckyDerby starting lineup at 12-1
odds there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
So was Rodriguez.
Was 12-1 odds.
There you go.
Well he was.
So was Rodriguez was 12-1 too.
Okay, alright, so let's finish.

Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
I was just trying to see if beza was one of bob
baffert.
You remember bob baffert?
Uh, three years ago, uh he got,uh he had to uh sit out for
three years because of his horse.
They said he had drugs in hissystem.
Remember Well?

Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
didn't he win?
Yeah, the horse won, but thenthey took it away.

Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
The horse won but they took it away, which is
insane.

Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
Took it away, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
And he was the owner and trainer, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
