Struggling to get useful results from Chat GPT? You're not alone. Most people approach AI tools like a Google search and end up with mediocre output. But there's a simple framework that can transform your results immediately.

In this eye-opening episode, Chad and Lacey introduce their new recurring AI series with a powerful three-part framework for crafting effective AI prompts: Role, Goal, Context. This straightforward approach dramatically improves what you get from Chat GPT without requiring technical expertise. The hosts share their own journeys from AI skepticism to enthusiasm, revealing how proper AI usage saves incredible amounts of time while producing higher quality content.

The real magic happens during a live demonstration where they compare a basic prompt to their structured approach. The difference is stunning – generic, forgettable content transforms into an emotionally engaging story that connects with readers. As Chad explains, "The outcome is going to be as good as the input... crap in, crap out." Their framework ensures you get exceptional results every time.

Whether you're completely new to AI or looking to refine your approach, this episode provides actionable techniques you can implement immediately. The hosts emphasize that AI adoption isn't optional – those who refuse to adapt risk being left behind professionally. But with simple frameworks like this, anyone can harness AI's power to build bigger businesses and live bigger lives.

Ready to transform how you use AI? Listen now, and join us for future episodes as we continue building your AI toolkit with practical, powerful techniques.

Chad (00:00):
If you're curious about how to use AI in your business,
in your life, to make thingseasier, make things better, more
impactful, I think you're goingto love this episode.
This is the Secret SaucePodcast, with Chad Treece and
Lacey Moores, where we want tohelp people build big businesses
and live big lives.

(00:21):
We think every episode is goingto maybe give you one
ingredient that you can add toyour recipe to create your own
secret sauce.
Let's get into it.
First and foremost, thank you, lacey, for being so welcoming to
my ideas, because I come upwith some crazy ones from time

(00:41):
to time and you just alwaysentertain them, and I came up
with an idea, like less than aweek ago, that maybe we should
start talking about AI on thepodcast and not just like one
episode.
Yeah, but why not a recurring?
theme every three episodes or so, like we're going to drop in
some knowledge of how to bestuse AI.
This is not going to be amasterclass in AI.

(01:03):
We are novices at this.
Uh, like, I don't.
I'm a Gen Xer, um, so I'm 47,like trying to use this is
different than people out therethat are in their twenties and
thirties.
They could probably teach us athing or two on it, right?
Uh, so if you're really reallygreat at AI already, this
probably isn't going to be theepisode for you.

Lacey (01:22):
No, send us some tips, like we are definitely, I mean
for me.
That's where and I bet a lot ofpeople will recognize or feel
the same way but you know, inthe beginning of it, like I
remember when I robot, came outright and I'm like this is, this
is what they've they've beenwarning us about.
This is awful, like we can't dothis, we're going to feed this

(01:44):
machine.
And I had all these no's, allthis negativity around AI and,
yes, I'm very new as well, butwhere I'm at today is so much
farther than I was 60, 90 daysago and that's about the time
that I went all in and I finallygot past all these things that
I these roadblocks that I had.

(02:04):
And now, like it's so exciting,it's so, and especially to
mastermind with people andseeing what they're using it for
.
So when you came and said thisis the idea, I'm like it's
brilliant Because we're going tosee people at all different
phases and where they're at withusing this.
But you got to start right andyou will get better and better
and better.

(02:24):
And I love that you saidreoccurring, because this thing
is going.
If you are not willing to thinkand learn about changing your
business with AI, you are goingto get passed up real fast.

Chad (02:37):
Yeah.

Lacey (02:37):
And that's reality, and, and, and you know, todd said the
other day, we are, we are goingto be losing so many people,
and why?
Because people are not willingto make the change to survive.

Chad (02:48):
And at least just adapt to it enough to integrate it into
like yes, help you Use it enoughthat you can't just get
replaced by it.
The people that get replaced byAI, in my opinion, are going to
be the people that don't eventake the time to learn it enough
to just integrate into theireveryday life, into their
business, because it can dowonders.
But it's not going to justnecessarily come and replace you

(03:10):
right away.
Unless you just completely shutit down and let it, then it
will.

Lacey (03:14):
Yep.
So there'll be tons of peoplewho will get stuff out of this.
I'm always learning with it.
So when you came, I'm likelet's do it, and we're going to
be on the journey right therewith everybody, right?

Chad (03:22):
So this is going to be as we're in real time, pretty much,
as we're learning new things,we're going to be sharing them,
and so we're super excited aboutit.
I thought a cool little likesubtitle for this would be WTF
Chat GPT.
So this is episode one, wtfChat GPT, and I think it's just.
The best thing is we start withone tactic, right?

(03:44):
I want to make it simple, things people can implement
right away.
So let's just start with theone number one tactic.
So this is going to be basicfor some.
For other people that they'rejust getting into it, it's going
to be a lifesaver.
Yes, right, so it's just howbest to use chat GPT, how to
even get started in it, and Ithink the biggest mistake that
people make is with the promptthat they're using.

(04:05):
The prompt is just what you'refirst putting into chat GPT.

Lacey (04:14):
Most people start with it being a Google search.
Right?
They're just, they're using itinstead of going to Google and
searching.
So we're trained to use it likethat, or that's all we've known
.
Right?
You go into Google, you type insomething and that's it One
sentence.
And so we have to know thisisn't Google and it's so much
better than Google, so keepgoing on that.

Chad (04:28):
Well, yeah, so I just broke it down into a three, like
a three part framework for yourprompts that you can get the
best results out of.
So to make it really simple, um, it even has a rhyme in it, so
hopefully you can remember it,but it's just role, goal,
context.
Okay, so step one is role.
Step two goal.
Step three context.

Lacey (04:50):
Okay, now let's actually talk about what that means,
right.

Chad (04:52):
So one.
You have to assign a role tochat, gpt or whatever AI you're
using.
Maybe you're using Gemini orwhatever it is.
You do have to assign it a role.
You don't have to, but youdefinitely should.
If you don't, then it's justgiving you information based off
of an average everyday human, basically, versus being an
expert in a certain field, right?
So if you wanted to havesomebody rewrite a script for

(05:15):
social media or for a post forsocial media, then your best bet
would be to give chat GPT theprompt.
Act as a social mediaengagement expert or something
along those lines, whatever youwant, I like.
Act as a social media hookexpert If you're looking to get
the best hooks for social media.
Um, act as a uh film producerIf you're wanting to have it.

(05:39):
Give you great ideas for ashort film that you're doing.
Um, whatever it is that youreally want information about.
You wanted to act as an expertin that space, not, so you're
narrowing the field.
Does that make sense?

Lacey (05:51):
Small little tactic.
Such a small little tactic, butsuch big impact.

Chad (05:56):
Yeah.

Lacey (05:56):
Because when I started using it, I again Google search,
write me this post, redo thisand never thought about, you
know, until.
Obviously, I was taught, buthow to and the the outcome is so
much different.
It's.

Chad (06:10):
Yep, it's going to be as good as the input.
The outcome is going to be asgood as the input, right.
So, uh, crap in, crap out, basic in, basic out, right.
But if you can make it reallydetailed, uh, and follow this
framework, you will get greatresults every time.
So, number one is role.
So, to find the role that youwant to act, chat GPT to act as

(06:33):
number two is goal, and yougotta be very clear about what
you want it to do, right.
So like, help me write a killerepisode outline in 10 minutes
for this podcast, uh, but forsure, signing that role, then
that's the goal, right.
Or help me create a socialmedia carousel post for

(06:54):
Instagram eight posts or eightphotos and actually go into
detail what you want it to do,and it will give you very
granular, great results.
So the role pretty simple, like.
I don't think we need to divetoo far into that.
Some other examples would belike give me three ideas for
Instagram reels that feel likeme, and that's a beautiful thing
that we haven't even talkedabout.

(07:14):
But chat GPT, especially thepaid version, is 20 bucks a
month.
This is not.
We're not.
This is sponsored by chat GPT.
We're not sponsored by open AI.
I'm not.
This is not a commercial.
I would pay for it because itremembers you and is remembering
things enough about you that itcan then say oh, this is in
your voice, right?
So you can say, like, createthis.
Give me three ideas forInstagram reels that feel like

(07:37):
me or that are in line with mybrand, dna, as it's learning
about you.
Right.
Explain this like I'm a fifthgrader who hates math, like like
, really break it down.
Don't just say solve thisproblem for me.
It'll solve the problem, but itmay make it too complex.

Lacey (07:54):
Right.

Chad (07:54):
Does that make sense?
And then the last one's,context.
So you've got to give itcontext.
So you want to give it abackstory or boundaries.
Essentially is what you'relooking at, okay, um, so you're
also, basically, it'd be likeyou assigning yourself a role,
right?
So if we go back to the socialmedia post, then you would say I
am a mortgage expert, 23 yearsexperience in Kansas City.

(08:18):
This is what I do, this is howI help people.
Uh, in this situation, you know, this is what I did, right?
Um, so you want to give it theproper context.
I'm a, I'm a mortgage companyfocused on hospitality.
I've never used chat GPT before.
My tone is casual, personal ora little witty.
So if you're giving it all thatcontext or you want it to sound

(08:38):
a certain way, then it's goingto deliver results that are
based off of that.
So it's a really easy framework.
Again, it's role sign, the rolethat you want it to play, goal.
Then you want to actually tellit what you want it to do and
then give it context, give it abackstory, give it boundaries.

Lacey (08:53):
Well, this is so, let's play with this.

Chad (08:56):
I love this idea.
Yeah, let's play with this.

Lacey (09:00):
So I can't use my chat GDP because well, first of all,
mine has all of the brand for meBecause you're paying for it,
so it knows enough about youthat it's going to spit out
better results it's going to doreally well, but I've done
everything that you've taught meand what I've learned in my
classes in my chat knows mereally, really well.
so I got into just a basicaccount and let's start with how

(09:23):
somebody might do somethinglike this.
So, um chat, help me write asocial post about a house I just
sold.
So I'm going to act as arealtor here, okay.
So help me post about what Ijust sold, okay.

Chad (09:37):
She's typing it into her phone for those listening at
home.

Lacey (09:39):
Here it goes Just sold.
Wow, this sounds very familiar.
Another happy ending and a newbeginning.
I'm thrilled to share that thisbeautiful home has officially
sold.
It's always an honor to helpguide my clients through such a
major life moment.
Congratulations to the newhomeowners.
May your new space be filledwith warmth, laughter and

(10:00):
unforgettable memories.
Thinking about buying orselling let's chat.
I'd love to help you make yournext move.
And some pretty good hashtags.

Chad (10:08):
So here's the thing.
That's good.
It's not bad.
It's not bad.
Yeah, it could be a lot better.

Lacey (10:13):
And it was two seconds, so it's not bad.

Chad (10:16):
So should you use chat GPT , even if you haven't studied
these prompts and everything?
Yes, definitely, because that'sprobably better than you could
come up with on your own withoutspending a whole lot of time.

Lacey (10:35):
So that's a piece right there.
So pause like, and we're justgoing to take this so much
deeper, but that right there, right Like when I was telling
the beginning, how I didn't wantto do chat and blah, blah blah.
The time aspect is what is solike.
Once you start playing withthis, it's going to blow your
mind what it can do and how fastit can do and projects even
want to work on things youwanted to do.
You can do now so much faster.
It's kind of not just excitingbut addicting and you can do and

(10:58):
accomplish so much more, somuch faster.

Chad (11:01):
Yeah, and there's an opportunity cost with your time
too.
Like, if you spend all thistime writing these posts and
doing all that, then it's takingtime away from your family,
your goals, your dreams, yourdreams your ambitions, all the
other stuff that you want to do.
So, yes, time is one of ourvery most valuable assets.
So if you can do anything tosave time, do it, then why not
take it?

Lacey (11:17):
so not bad.
So yeah, not bad.
Now let's do.

Chad (11:24):
Okay, I don't want to type on this thing, so I I'm just
gonna audio.
I'm gonna do it by audio.
Act as a social media expertand help me write a Engaging
social media post for a familythat I just served.
Help them purchase a home.

(11:45):
They we're needing to get outof the current home they're in
and then the next one, withouthaving to sell the current home.
Make it engaging and make thetone warm and casual and tell a
story that is very engaging, that people can connect with,

(12:23):
that people can connect with.
All right, sorry, here we go,absolutely.
Here's a warm story, driven andengaging social media posts,
written in a relatable, casualtone, ideal for the platforms
like Instagram or Facebook.
This one, it's a littledifferent.
I recently had the privilege ofhelping an amazing family find
their next home, and not justany home, but the right one that
fits where life is taking themright now.
They were in a tough spot, needing more space, a fresh

(12:44):
environment and a new beginning, but selling their current home
just wasn't in the cards yet.
So we got creative.
With some thoughtful planning,a lot of communication, a little
bit of real estate magic, wefound them a new home they loved
, without having to say goodbyeto the one they're in.
Now they have the freedom totransition on their own terms.
This is why I do what I dohelping families move forward
without pressure or compromise.

(13:05):
If you're in a similarsituation, know that there are
options, and I'm always here tohelp you explore them.
Ready when you are Bunch ofgreat hashtags Wow, I was
reading it, so I couldn't evenlike really focus on it, but I
think it was better.

Lacey (13:22):
Yeah, my like.
I even just have goosebumps on.
The reason I'm havinggoosebumps is is the feeling
that comes out of that when youare reading it, because it's a
story, because it is likethere's so much more emotion out
of that when you are reading it, because it's a story, because
it is like there's so much moreemotion out of it, there's so
much more.
You can just connect as areader or hearing that versus
the one that I read.

(13:43):
Like the one that I read wasgood, it wasn't bad, and if
you're not going to do anything,it's better than nothing.
But the difference from that tothat all due to the three steps
you just said it's crazy, likeit's so much better and just
like that.
The same time that it took meto type it up, you set it so
even faster.

(14:03):
But what a beautiful.
And you can tweak that right.
Like you can tell it to changeit if you don't like it, or to
do anything with it.

Chad (14:09):
Yeah, you can refine from there, definitely.
I would say that if you want toadd a fourth thing, it would be
refined from there.
But very best for your initialprompt role goal context.
Add that in to whenever you'reusing AI.
From now on, just have thatsimple three-step framework.
It will do wonders, and then wecan keep building this thing
together.
We'll come back with moreepisodes, with more tactics, but

(14:30):
we're starting with the mostbasic and we're going to build
on it as we go along.
So I'm excited.

Lacey (14:34):
I'm excited too and for you and I to share, and then
even you know, bring some othersin Chad that that they're using
it and blowing it up with this, and that, like, that's where,
for me, chad gets so excited, our AI gets so exciting.
Because to me, it just makes meexcited when my brain opens up
and has all these differentideas and I get like, you know,

(14:56):
I don't, I don't write books,but writer's block or whatever,
when I'm, when I know I want todo something but I can't, and I
start putting some stuff and, hey, I want to do this.
I really don't know where to gowith.
And it just starts and it Imean then I get into it, and
then I, my brain, and I can.

Chad (15:10):
It's so fun, um, it's really, yeah, I would, I would
agree with that a hundredpercent.
Yeah, um, it's probably alittle too addicting, uh, but,
like, I think it's way betterthan just scrolling on Instagram
, you know, surfing the web, doing whatever, uh, it can
really help you, uh, in life, inbusiness, and that's what we're
all about right.
Helping people build bigbusinesses.

(15:32):
So we're, going to tie thisright in with it and we're going
to be getting curious withpeople.
That's one of my favoritethings to do is like get curious
, so we're going to be reallydiving into it right along with
you.
And then we're going to getcreative and we're going to put
it to use and we're going tocollaborate on it.

Lacey (15:46):
So I love it.

Chad (15:47):
All right, that was episode one of this series.
We will be back with a bunchmore.
Thanks for tuning in, guys, andwe will see you soon.
Thanks, guys.
