205. The Death of Curiosity: The Key to Growth and Success in Life is in Decline

In this episode I discuss one of the most important qualities in successful, happy, and growth oriented people: curiosity! I’ve noticed that in the past decade or so, it’s been significantly on the decline. I also talk about the rise of abstracting people into symbols, rather than listening/observing to see who people actually are. It’s become normal to dehumanize people with a different perspective, and this concerns me due to its potential implications for the future of democracy and the future of human relationships. Are you open to the idea that there are things you don’t know? Are you open to the idea that you could be wrong? Are you able to step off your moralistic high ground and consider things logically, rather than simply in an emotionally activated way? A very in-depth and important episode for today’s current political climate, especially in Canada and the United States. Curiosity impacts all aspects of our lives in a positive, growthy way.
