Adrienne Garland (00:06):
Leadership
isn't just changing. It's
evolving in ways we're only justbeginning to imagine. And women,
we're not playing this gameanymore. We're the ones
reshaping the entire field, building models, movements, and
businesses that serve more thanjust a few. On the She Leads
podcast, you'll hear realconversations with women who've
(00:27):
broken through all kinds ofbarriers, revenue, identity,
orders, and expectations.
There's no sugarcoating here, just the truth told by those who
are living it. I'm AdrienneGarland, entrepreneur,
strategist, educator, andcreator of live experiences,
(00:47):
gathering women leaders togetherfor over a decade. And this is
the She Leads Podcast. Welcomeback to the She Leads podcast.
When I say welcome back, Ireally mean welcome back.
It's been quite a while sincewe've recorded an episode. I
(01:07):
think the last time that wespoke about anything was when we
went to LA for the She LeadsLive conference. The reason that
we took a bit longer of a breakthan we intended to is because
we wanted to be reallyintentional when we came back.
We are evolving. We areshifting.
(01:29):
And by we, I mean, She LeadsMedia, and so too is the She
Leads podcast. We started as apodcast that was intentionally
setting up conversations withwomen entrepreneurs that were
not sugarcoated. We wanted tohave real discussions about
(01:52):
issues and challenges and reallywanted to spotlight and amplify
women's stories. And we haveloved doing that every step
along the way. There is so muchto learn if you go and you
listen back to all of thedifferent episodes that we've
recorded up until now.
(02:12):
But we are looking toward thefuture, and one of our goals has
always been to to teach, toinspire. And so we are looking
toward the women entrepreneursthat have started businesses
that have grown past thatelusive $1,000,000 mark and who
(02:34):
have, in essence, you know, madeit. These women may not have
even thought that they weregoing to get there, and yet, you
know, here they are runningmillion dollar, multimillion
dollar businesses. And thesewomen with that type of revenue,
with that type of profitability, are looking toward the future
(02:58):
and using that wealth to makechanges in their businesses, in
their communities, in the world. They're looking for impact.
And so we are looking towardthose women so that we too can
think about more than justgrowing our business past the
(03:19):
million dollar mark, but whatthat actually means in the
world. Couple that with the factthat by 2030, more than 80% of
the world's wealth will betransferred to women. And you
can just very easily deduce thatmore power and influence is
(03:44):
going to be shifted toward womenand what women want. So we are
aligning ourselves with that. Sowith this change in leadership,
we are changing and evolving aswell.
We, going forward, on the SheLeads podcast, will be
(04:05):
highlighting stories thatmatter. We are still very much
focused on women entrepreneurs, and we are not only going to be
talking about their journeys andtheir stories and how they were
able to grow and scale, butwe're gonna tap into things that
they may not have even beenasked before. We're going to ask
(04:26):
them what they are thinkingabout for the future. And this
is not just going to be surfacelevel, you know, how I give
back, but rather, you know, whatis brewing deep inside of all of
us and how we want to seethings, systems, the world
change for the better forhumanity in order to move
(04:51):
everything forward in a muchmore positive manner. So I still
remain incredibly committed tohelping women to get the
visibility that I believe thatwe deserve, but this is not just
for vanity purposes.
Nothing that we've ever donehere on the She Leads podcast or
(05:13):
for She Leads Media is forvanity purposes. It is for
meaning. It is for highlightingthings that we believe truly
matter. There are lots and lotsof resources, conversations, and
information about surface leveladvice, women in business, women
(05:38):
entrepreneurs, startups. We areshifting and pivoting away from
that crowd.
We love them, and we want themto continue doing the amazing
work that that they're doing. And we've played in that in that
sandbox for over ten years, andit is time for us to to graduate
(05:59):
into this next level. You allhave asked me what's next, and
so this is the answer. This isthe answer for me personally,
Adrienne Garland, and this isalso what's next for She Leads
Media. So this show, the SheLeads Podcast, is for women that
(06:21):
have built successful businessesthat are in you know, have gone
past that million dollar mark.
They're into a multimilliondollar category. Their
businesses are scaling. Theirbusinesses are humming. Their
businesses are running. Theirbusinesses are being sold.
So they're launching newbusinesses. But these are also
(06:41):
women entrepreneurs that arethinking very deeply about
impact. They're thinking abouttheir own power. They're
thinking about what's next. Andthere aren't a lot of women in
this band of leadership.
And so it's important for me tohighlight those stories and to
(07:01):
uncover what it is that thatthey are thinking about. So
we're not here to just play thegame better. We wanna create an
entirely new game and and breakthrough old patterns. We wanna
start new types of businesses. We wanna think about how we help
(07:23):
more, more than just ourselves, more than just our companies.
These women who are in thiscategory, you know, sure. I'm,
you know, I'm sure that theythey want the attention. They
want the spotlight, but notagain, not for vanity purposes,
but to show others that this ispossible, and they wanna show
(07:47):
everybody that they are women ofsubstance. We're gonna continue
to talk about business, andwe're also going to talk about
what it means to be a leader intoday's world, in in the world
of entrepreneurship. We aregoing to be having real
(08:07):
conversations about money, aboutpower, about wealth, about
influence, and how we can dothat by remaining true to
ourselves.
So going forward, you are goingto hear real thoughtful
conversations. Not that wedidn't always have real
thoughtful conversations, butmaybe they'll be a little bit
(08:28):
more real. They might be thingsthat you have not heard before,
but we are going to be talkingabout things that are
unexpected. This podcast is notgoing to be about strategies,
tips, tricks, even actionableadvice. We're shifting.
We are shifting into trueinsight from women that have
(08:52):
achieved that level of success. And we're going to talk about
systems. We're going to talkabout patterns. We're going to
talk about expanding possibilityaround the world, right, and
what that looks like for womenwho are who are leading rich
lives. And by rich, I do notmean just in the sense of of
(09:16):
money rich, although that iscertainly an aspect of it.
But I mean rich, full lives thathelp not only themselves, but
others around them, things andpeople that matter to them. We
are in a place in our evolutionwhere we need to showcase women
(09:43):
more nuanced, more layeredstories of women that are
leading on their own terms thatare unexpected, that we that the
media doesn't necessarilyhighlight in the the way that it
(10:04):
should. We need to see newmodels of success that don't
promote burnout, that aren'tsurface level, that aren't
perfect, and that don'thighlight these outdated power
dynamics. And we need to hearthem now. Right?
(10:27):
The world is changing rapidly.AI has entered every single
aspect of our lives. It'sentered every single
conversation, every single daythat I have with women leaders,
that I have with students, thatI have with colleagues. So this
rapid pace of change requiresthe innate wisdom that women
(10:53):
possess. We are the changemakers.
You know, we are the ones thatbuild community, and we do so
much of what we do and who weare is just something it's a
superpower that exists inside ofus that we all recognize and
(11:14):
that we can see in one another, but that doesn't always get the
kudos that we deserve. Wequietly build. We bring people
together. We form bonds. We doit in our own special way.
And oftentimes, it's quiet, andoftentimes, it goes unnoticed.
(11:35):
But boy, it is powerful. That isfor sure. So I can't wait to
speak to all of these women. We've already recorded several
episodes, and I can't wait toshare those with you.
And just as you listen to eachone of those episodes, know that
(11:55):
we are building something. We'rebuilding something that is
powerful. We're we're buildingsomething that's bigger. We are
building something that is it'snot shine only, although it is
shiny, but we are buildingsomething with great substance
(12:16):
that also has great influence. You're going to hear from people
that probably break the mold ofwhat you think is leadership.
Right? We wanna break the moldof leadership. We want to be
able to highlight and showcasewhat leadership actually looks
(12:36):
like, actually acts like, actually speaks like. And we
wanna shatter this notion thatwe all need to look a certain
way, act a certain way, be acertain way, come from a
certain, you know, background inorder to make a substantial
(12:58):
impact and in order to besuccessful. So tune in from now
on.
Go back and listen to some ofthe incredible episodes. We've
had just wonderful people on thepodcast up until now. And I hope
that you see that from here onout, we are going to be leveling
(13:20):
up the conversations, thequestions that we're asking, and
we are doing our part on onleading because this is how she
leads. Cannot wait to continueforward, and thank you so much
