this change allows me to share more concentrated, powerful coaching tips that you can take on the go (each episode will be under 7 minutes).

starting april 1, i will post every day inside the SHOW UP daily podcast(hence the name 😉). i'll do this for a year!

i will cover mindset, productivity, relationships, career, health, creativity, and strategies for overcoming perfectionism, self-doubt, and that nasty inner-critic.

in today's episode i talk about why i am making the change and i'm sharing my fears about it.

if you want to join the private podcast, it's only $200 for the full year (365 episodes) and will be accessible wherever you get your podcasts.

(00:24):
something to be afraid offailing.
And speaking of fears, I'llhelp you work through all of
yours so you can take moreaction.
You're already a badass in mybook, and if you want to learn
how to create the life you want, then get your buns in here and
let's go.
Hi, friend, welcome to episode235 of the Show Up Society
podcast.

(00:45):
I'm recording today in a hotel,so you might hear some you know
different noises than usual, butthat's going to be okay.
Today's episode is going totalk about a big, scary change
that I'm making to this hereShow Up Society podcast.
I'm going to talk about thechange, why I'm doing it, what
will happen to this currentpodcast because it's going to be
different and then I'm going totell you what the new one will

(01:07):
look like and what the new onewill cover, what results you'll
get with the new one and whoit's for.
And then I'm going to tell youa little bit about behind the
scenes and like the kind ofscary thoughts that go behind it
, because I just think it'sinteresting to get a little
insight and a little behind thescenes, because I think
sometimes we think that otherpeople have it all together and
they make decisions without fearand they're just out here

(01:28):
making decisions, you know rightand left, without any pause or
hesitation or self-doubt or fear, and I definitely have all
those and I just want to sharethem with you.
So let's first get to the big, scary change coming up in my
podcast, and that is that I'mgoing to be shifting my content
over to a private daily podcast.
Yep, it's going to be a dailytiny podcast and I'm calling it

(01:52):
the show up daily.
So basically, it is going to bea year of coaching in your
pocket.
It's going to be episodes everysingle day that are going to
help you get out of your own wayand show up for the life that
you want to be living.
So why am I doing this?
One is it gives me someexternal accountability, because
if I have people paying for aprivate podcast, they are paying

(02:16):
for access to this then thatgives me some external
accountability and it actuallywill be a lot easier for me to
show up.
So I've been doing this podcastsince late 2019.
And sometimes it feels like I'mjust putting episodes out into
the ether and I'm never knowingif people are listening or
resonating to them.
Most of the time I have a lotof messages coming in and people

(02:39):
leaving comments on myInstagram post.
I have a lot of ways that Iknow that people are listening
to the episodes and they'rereally helpful, but sometimes
it's hard to self-motivatemyself to go do another episode
when I don't know for sure thata lot of people are going to
listen to the episode.
And I feel like there are somany places in my life right now
where I am having to beself-motivated and self-driven

(03:00):
and make myself show up withoutany kind of external
accountability, and so I feellike I just kind of need a
little external accountabilityto keep me going and to keep me
motivated.
Also, I have so much content inlike bite-sized chunks that I
have scribbled everywhere.
I have little post-it notes andlittle ripped pieces of paper

(03:20):
all over my desk at the end ofevery single week and then I
kind of just shove them all intoa folder and they're all these
ideas that I have for tips thatI want to share with you.
But they're not really quitelong enough to be a whole full
podcast episode, not even, likeyou know, one of my shorter ones
and so I want to have a placewhere I get to share those
really helpful, useful tips withyou but not have to turn them

(03:44):
into this big, huge, like youknow, 10, 15, 20 minute episode.
So another reason why I didthis is because it's going to be
accessible coaching, because Ihave raised my one-on-one prices
by the time that you arehearing this episode and so I
still want to offer reallyhelpful coaching, but I want to
be able to have more peopleaccess it, because not everybody

(04:05):
can access my one-on-onecoaching, and so this is just a
way for me to help give back andhave help out there.
That's at a more accessiblelevel.
Another reason why is I'verecently, in the past year, been
taking a few online classes.
So I'm always learning, I'malways in some kind of classes,
so I've been taking some aboutsocial media.
I've been taking one aboutspecific kind of marketing been

(04:28):
taking some about somatics andhow your body reacts to stress
and how to calm your nervoussystem down, and a couple others
.
But anyway, the really annoyingthing about those classes is
because the lessons are allonline and they require me to
sit in front of a computer forat least 20 minutes.
But most of these classes are45 to 60 minutes at a time and I

(04:51):
just don't have time to sit infront of my computer for that
much time.
I already spend hours on mycomputer every day seeing
clients and doing other work andI also just don't have the
attention span to sit still forthat long.
So I'm actually not using asmuch of the class material as I
want to be.
I signed up for it, I paid forit and I'm barely using it

(05:13):
because I don't ever have timeto sit down for that long of a
chunk of time and listen tosomething useful.
And I keep finding myself sayingI wish I could take it with me
on the go.
I wish I could just listen tothis while I am going on a walk
or while I'm driving the car orwhile that rare, rare day that
I'm actually doing and foldinglaundry.
I really wish that I couldlisten to these courses, because

(05:36):
then I would actually put themto use.
Also, in my group coaching, Ioffer replays of the calls for
people who want to listen to itagain or for the people that
can't make it to my live calls, and I can see the stats on those
.
As far as like downloads andlistens and those, you know,
replay podcast episodes.
So what I do is I take theaudio from the class that I

(05:56):
taught and I put it onto aprivate podcast feed and those
have been wildly successful.
So I know that people areenjoying taking classes with me
and coaching with me andworkshops with me, because they
can take it on the go and theycan listen to it as many times
as they want.
They can listen to it whilethey walk or they or they create
art or they do laundry ordishes or whatever else, and I

(06:19):
can see that it's been wildlysuccessful.
So I figured, well, I'll take mycoaching and my mindset, tips
and my strategies for gettingthings done and I'll put those
onto a way that people canlisten to them on the go.
Another reason why I thoughtthis would be a good idea is
because so many of my clientsand my students will tell me you
were in my head.
I thought to myself what wouldTammy say?

(06:40):
I heard Tammy's voice in myhead and I made my decision
quickly.
So I thought, well, this willbe a really fun way of me giving
you some support wherever youare, so you can take Coach Tammy
in your head, or you can takeCoach Tammy on a walk and listen
to just some helpful tips tohelp you make these decisions
better and to show up for yourlife in the way that you want to
.

(07:00):
I also thought it would be funto get a little message every
day.
If you want it every day, totally doable to listen to it
daily, like when you're brushingyour teeth, or you can listen
to the whole week at one time,in the same time as it would be
for a normal podcast, so itwon't be overwhelming.
So these episodes are going tobe very tiny, bite-sized pieces.
So a quick little hit ofmindset, coaching and strategy

(07:24):
each day.
Or, like I said, wrap it all upand just listen to it all in
one setting at once a week orsomething, and it will be about
the same time as my normalpodcast.
So either way, it's kind of funfor you to get to choose.
Do I want to listen to it everyday, once a week?
There might be some episodesyou don't really care about at
all.
You don't care about the topicGreat.
But it won't be overwhelming.

(07:45):
You won't feel behind, youwon't feel like you're missing
out on the content.
And another thing about why I'mdoing it is it's really good
content.
It's going to be potent, powerful messages that you can
take and really do somethingabout.
So maybe someday I'll be givingyou an action you can take, or
it might be a thought topractice.
Sometimes it'll be a little peptalk, sometimes a little behind

(08:06):
the scenes and a real story ofmy ups and downs and how you
might relate to those and howthey might help you see things.
So let's talk a little bit aboutwhat will happen to this
current podcast.
So all the current episodes aregoing to stay here and I'm
going to be creating some blogposts from them.
So they'll still be superuseful and this will be still a
great way for people to getmindset, coaching and tips and

(08:27):
strategies from me for free.
So I have you know this isepisode 235.
So I have over 200 episodesthat you have to listen to
forever.
Also, I haven't really exactlydecided what I'm going to do
with this current method of theShow Up Society podcast, but I
think I'll do some guestepisodes, because I already have
a couple of those lined up, andI might do some longer form

(08:49):
episodes.
But I think what's going tohappen is that I'll release an
episode here about once a monthand that will just be a little
bit different than it has been.
So, a little bit longer contentor, like I said, guest episodes
.
Let's talk about the new podcast, the Show Up Daily.
That podcast is going to be araw, mostly unedited, not going

(09:09):
to have intro music or outromusic.
It's not going to be superpolished.
Some of the audio may be takenwhile I'm on a walk or in the
car, so it's not all going to beprofessional studio quality,
but it's going to be superuseful and it's still not going
to be crappy.
You're going to be able to hearme very clearly on the episodes
.
It's never going to be likemuffled and windy so much that

(09:30):
you can't hear it.
You're always going to be ableto hear it.
I'm just letting you know it'snot going to be not every
episode is going to be superpolished, so it's going to start
on April 1st and I'm going todo a new episode every day for a
year.
So of course, I think that youshould sign up on April 1st so
you can get each episode as itrolls out.
But whenever you do sign up,you'll have access to all the

(09:53):
previous and future episodes.
So the episodes are going to beunder seven minutes.
Some may only be a coupleminutes, but they're going to be
super potent and powerful.
These are going to be availableto you wherever you get your
podcasts.
It'll be very easy to sign upand get the episodes into your
favorite podcast player.
You'll get your own speciallink.
That's just for you, and it isa paid podcast, but it will only

(10:14):
be $200 for the entire year.
So that's 365 of my best tipsand tricks based on neuroscience
and psychology, and it'sactually crazy to me that I'm
offering this at such a lowprice, but I want it to be
accessible to a lot of people.
So you will have access to theepisodes for as long as it
exists.
So I'm not going to removeaccess at the end of the year.

(10:36):
I have plans to keep it up forat least a couple years.
You know, I never know exactlywhat the future holds.
But I'm not going to just pullit at the end of the year, you
know, because I know that therewill be people that are, you
know, still signing up, maybe innext February or March, and
want to get all the episodes atone time.
So that's sort of the logisticsof what it will look like.

(10:56):
And now let's talk about whatthe show up daily will cover,
what we'll be talking about.
So I'm going to cover all kindsof evidence-based mindset tips
and practical strategies to helpyou get out of your own way, to
help you stop listening to yourinner critic and get into
action toward the life that youwant to be living.
So there will be some overlapin topics to this current Show

(11:16):
Up Society podcast, because I amjust passionate and obsessed
with helping people get clear ontheir meaningful goal and
creating a doable action planand getting unstuck.
So I'm always going to talkabout that, no matter where I am
.
But the difference is this thenew show up daily podcast, it's
going to be power packed, like alittle punch of a tip that you
can practice or put into actionthat day.

(11:38):
So it's like a much morecondensed version of this
current show up society podcast.
The new podcast is not.
It's not going to be just aboutgoals and productivity.
It's also about business andcareer.
It's also about relationships, finances, creativity, physical
health, fitness, mental health,mental well-being.
There may also be some doses ofkind of tough love, because I'm

(12:00):
committed to fighting for yourdreams and sometimes that means
nudging you out of your own damnway.
It's also going to be acheerleader in your pocket.
I'm going to be reminding youthat you are completely capable
of doing the thing, and I'mgoing to be supporting you.
Every day for a year, I'm goingto be giving you tips for
feeling better about yourself, your choices and your life.

(12:21):
It's basically a daily how toguide on how to be a happier
human.
Doing more of what you want andless of what you don't Sounds
kind of cool, right.
I'm so excited about it.
So let's talk about what resultsI think you'll get if you
listen to the podcast and youpractice the mindset tips and
you take some of these actionsteps.
You're going to find more timefor you.

(12:41):
You're going to find more timefor joy.
You're going to create time towork on your dreams, your
projects and goals that feelmeaningful to you.
And speaking of meaningfulgoals, you'll find some clarity
on what it is that you actuallywant to be doing.
You're also going to learn howto overcome indecision,
perfectionism, procrastination, fears, self-doubt and your harsh

(13:06):
inner critic.
You're going to build betterrelationships.
You're going to have boundaries.
You're going to do less peoplepleasing and more you pleasing.
You're going to feel like youhave more balance in life
because you're going to know howto manage your schedule and
your time.
You're going to feel bettermentally and physically.
You're going to know how tolisten to your brain and your
body to help you avoid burnout.
You're going to know how towork with your brain, even if
your brain works a littledifferently from other people's.

(13:27):
I think you're also just goingto have a really fun time.
So who is this new podcast forthe Show Up Daily?
Who is this for?
Well, it's for all humans whoever feel bad about themselves.
Sometimes it's for humans whoget in their own way.
Sometimes it's for humans thathave harsh inner critics and are
hard on themselves.
It's for humans who just aren'tliving up to their potential.

(13:49):
It's for highly driven, successful people who have a
really good life but they wantmore.
It's for people that want tobelieve in themselves and to
believe that they will followthrough.
It's for people who thinkthings are too hard or
complicated or will take toomuch energy, because I'm going
to help you break things downinto tiny, bite-sized, doable
pieces.
And then the more that you do,the more momentum you'll build,

(14:10):
the more confidence you'll haveand the more that you'll keep
taking action You'll sort ofride that momentum of getting
things done.
So I wanted to share with you alittle bit of behind the scenes
about this too.
This is a really scary decisionfor me to create.
You know, shifting over fromthe Show Up Society podcast to
the Show Up Daily.
It feels really scary to dosomething every day for a year.

(14:31):
But if you've been around thispodcast for a while, you know
that I started out by doing alot of tiny daily habits.
So I've had over 12 years ofdoing at least one daily habit
every single day without missing, so I know that I can do this
new podcast episode every dayfor a year.
It's also scary to me to notknow if anybody will buy this

(14:53):
right.
There's this voice in my headthat's like who buys podcasts?
Nobody buys podcasts, but Ithink that the content is so
valuable and I think it's worthway more than what I'm charging
for it.
So I have this faith and I'mpracticing this faith, that
people will buy it.
There are people that buynewsletters out there.
There are people that sign upfor newsletter subscriptions and
newspaper subscriptions and substacks and Patreons, and some

(15:17):
people have subscribers onInstagram.
So I know that in the worldthere are people who pay for
content and I have this feelingthat people in my audience that
you may be listener will pay forcontent from me because I think
it's really useful and reallyhelpful.
This feel, this decision, feelsreally scary to me because I'm
shifting's really useful andreally helpful.

(15:38):
This decision feels reallyscary to me because I'm shifting
away from one of the biggestways that people come into my
one-on-one coaching practice.
So, for instance, two of mymost recent clients that signed
up to work with me had binged mypodcast, listening to at least
120 episodes each before theycame to me to be their
one-on-one coach.
So it feels a little nuts to meLike why would I take away this

(16:00):
stream of information thathelps people get to decide if
they want to work one-on-onewith me?
But then I'm just going back tothat kind of previous point
where I think that people willfind the content so useful with
me that that will still be asource of information.
I'm also going to really haveto practice marketing this and
talking about it in a way thatlets people know how valuable it

(16:20):
is, and so I'm going to reallybe having to practice that over
the next year.
Another fear is can I beinteresting and useful for 365
days?
I know I have over 365 tips.
If you saw the folder on mydesk, you would absolutely
understand that but can I makethem interesting?
Can I make that useful?
I really want this to besomething that people feel is

(16:41):
worth their time, money andenergy to be a part of, and I
really want you to get somethingout of it.
So when I have doubts like this, like the ones that I mentioned
above, I remind myself of why Ithink it's a good decision and
what I love about the decision, and the very first part of this
podcast was exactly that right.
I told you the reasons behindthis decision and why I feel
really good about it, why Iactually feel really excited

(17:02):
about it.
It's this beautiful mix ofnervousness and excitement.
I feel really good about thisdecision and I also know that
it's not permanent.
I can change this up If a fewmonths from now it's not working
.
I can continue doing thiscurrent podcast and the other
one.
I can figure something out.
But that's a really big part ofdecision making and of success
in owning a business is makingdecisions quickly and having

(17:25):
your own back on those, but alsoknowing that whatever happens,
you can figure it out.
So if this is a flop, then Ican figure out how to pivot and
change and mix it up a littlebit so that it does work out.
And so I am just practicingthat faith in myself that I can
figure it out.
No matter what happens good, bad in between I can figure this
out.
So I'm going to tell you onemore really, really scary thing.

(17:48):
It feels really scary to evensay this, but if you've been
around for a while, you know Ilike being real and vulnerable
with you.
So I have a goal of getting over100 listeners to join this
private podcast.
So I don't have a huge audience.
I don't have a current hugepodcast audience or Instagram
audience or even newsletteraudience.
So that means that I'm reallygoing to have to promote this

(18:10):
and talk about it quite a bitduring the year and I've had a
lot of experience going for 100before.
So you might have heard on thispodcast but when I was in art
licensing and also when I had myown product based business, I
had many, many, many monthswhere I pitched my work to at
least 100 art buyers or shopsthat month.
So there were so many monthswhere I said, okay, I'm sending

(18:32):
out 100 pitches for my work forart licensing or 100 sample
cards and catalogs through themail to shops all across the US.
So my goal was to be in over100 independent shops across the
US and I did that in a littleover a year.
Then, when I started mycoaching business, I emailed 100
people and I told them I thinkI actually did 102 people and

(18:54):
told them I was a coach and Ioffered my services.
So I like the round number goalof 100 people out there
listening to me in their ear andmaking things happen in their
lives.
I love the idea of 100 peoplegoing out and listening to a tip
and then going out and making achange or thinking about
themselves in a different wayand feeling better about
themselves.
That feels really cool to me.
So if you sign up and you enjoythe episodes.

(19:17):
I hope that you will tell yourfriends about it to help me get
to that 100 number, but it'sgoing to be really fun and I
can't believe I shared that withyou because I feel like that's
like an inside secret.
But I also really want topromote people talking about
their goals and normalizing thatthey have goals that feel scary
and not being afraid of peopleseeing them air quote fail.

(19:40):
And I think it's okay for us totalk about wanting to grow and
wanting to grow our businessesand wanting to be bigger than we
are in some ways, and I think, while we can also know that we
are enough as we are, I thinkit's helpful to see women and
other people in our lives talkabout what they want to be and

(20:01):
what they want to do and toshare our big dreams.
So I'm sharing that with youbecause if I want you to go out
there and do it, then I need todo it myself, right?
Okay?
So I think that's it for rightnow.
The podcast episode you'relistening to right now about the
big change coming to thepodcast, is going to be the last
one for a little while.
I have a couple guest episodescoming up, but that's not going

(20:23):
to be for a few weeks, so I hopethat you will join the new
private podcast, the show updaily.
I'm going to put a link to thatso you can go ahead and sign up
.
I'm going to put a link to thatin the show notes here and you
