Jonathan (00:00):
Roxie's on a vacation far away. Why don't you come and
get it all around? If I don'tknow the words, I'll just sing
the tune. Oh, no. It's I wasgonna get a little older.
I don't wanna kill your lovetonight.

Slava (00:18):
I've been taking voice lessons from a professional
singer, a choir master.

Jonathan (00:23):
Is that what she is?

Slava (00:24):
Yes. She says I have good diction. I have good
performance. She's helping metalk a little bit higher because
I talk too low for my naturalvoice. And so maybe you audience
will notice some differenceshere and there as I perfect my
performance.
But in the last lesson, shesaid, hey. How about we try some

(00:45):
notes that could help youimprove better? And so she
played some notes on the piano.Play two. And by the second one,
she just said, you know what?
Breathing exercises and dictionand performance. You're good.
You do good. Keep doing whatyou're doing. We don't need to
do singing lessons.
I was like, okay. She's like, nooffense. I was like, none taken.

(01:06):
I don't pretend to be Sinatrahere, which is like, nah. We
don't need to do this flattoned.
Nope. You're good. You're doinggood.

Jonathan (01:13):
Actually, I'm rethinking my thought. Let's go
back to the the basics. Speakingof

Slava (01:18):
something that's not so basic, we have a new season
coming up. Jonathan, we'realmost almost back. Almost back.

Jonathan (01:26):
Slava and Jonathan are back. Instead of Backstreet's
back. Side quest black tonight.
We're black now. The thing you guys don't know is
Slava will redo his wordssometimes because he wants to
make sure it's crisp and clean.I, like a drunken toddler, just

(01:47):
wade my way through and pretendthat no one notices.

Slava (01:51):
Well, a lot of things get fixed

Jonathan (01:52):
in post. So Okay. Okay. But in the next season, we
have some fun books coming.Slava, I'll let you go first.
What are you excited in the nextseason to listen to?

Slava (02:03):
In no particular order, we have Jurassic Park. It is one
of my favorite books fromchildhood. I read a number of
Michael Crichton books when Iwas in middle school going into
high school, and this onecaptivated the hell out of me. I
really enjoyed Jurassic Park, and we're gonna cover that.

(02:26):
Scanner Darkly is another one byone of my favorite authors,
Philip K.
Dick. Speculative fiction, scifi, dystopia, all that good
stuff. Not a lot of sci fi inthis book, but he's known for
some sci fi. But dystopia andspeculative fiction. And one
book that I've been meaning toread for decades.

(02:46):
Finally, on the schedule, on theside quest book club podcast, We
have a clockwork orange, so Ican't wait. Did you see the
movie? Numerous times. Yeah.Okay.
And now I'm reading the book.

Jonathan (03:01):
Nice.

Slava (03:01):
Give me three books that you're excited to cover.

Jonathan (03:03):
Sure. So we are going to be going into another book
for the Lies of Locke Lamoraseries, Red Seas Under Red
Skies. And I did bump that tothe top of next season because I
knew how much you would lovethese characters and this world.

Slava (03:20):
Well, as one character would say, father chains,
bleeding shits. It's about time.

Jonathan (03:26):
Yes. The next one that I'd like to mention is I also
made it a point to try to wrapup a series. So we will be
wrapping up Cradle. It is quitea bit still in terms of, like,
books that we'll cover, butyou'll see your regular guests,
JT, Casey, Spencer, maybe a fewothers if people read Cradle by
then to wrap that one up. Thatwill take all season to wrap up

(03:51):
because there's still one, two, three, four, five books left in
the Cradle series, but that'llbe wrapped up.
And then my third choice forthings that I'm excited about is
A Wise Man's Fear, which is booktwo in the name of the wind
series. And that one will bewrapped up as well because we

(04:12):
don't have book three yet. But,yeah, I'm doing my best to have
us wrap up some series. You knowwhat I just realized? There's no
there's no Stormlight book onhere for you, man.

Slava (04:25):
Well, I guess we have to wait for another season

Jonathan (04:28):
for Oathbringer. You're gonna wait another two
years? I don't believe that'sgonna happen.

Slava (04:33):
You told me I have to read 17 Mistborn era novels. So

Jonathan (04:37):
And that's the announcement, folks. We'll be
back in October where Slava willcome back and complain, but with
better

Slava (04:43):
diction. Yes. Yes. And a higher voice, hopefully, talking
with my natural voice instead oflow down here all the time.

Jonathan (04:52):
Mhmm. Cool beans. Alright. Leave some notes in for
us in the comments, and we'llsee you again soon. Only on the
SideQuest book club podcast.
